At once prudently traditional and brazenly unorthodox, MIND/KNOT’s iteration of hardcore simmers and shimmers, flooding the senses in a fever dream of passion, violence and spectral mysticism.
Rome-based MIND/KNOT formed in 2018 and originally united Yari Caramore (bass), Simone Perna (drums) and Marco Burrascano (singer). In 2019 the band released a 7-track EP, while their first album “Eat the Leaf!” came out in 2021. Both records were very clearly inspired by the original hardcore of the 80’s, drawing influences from legendary acts such as Black Flag, Minor Threat, Bad Brains and Circle Jerks. After some time, the band started to get tired of the linearity of that original sound: moved by the desire to express something else besides anger and violence and willing to externalize the discomfort from which such emotions arise, the project therefore began to change musical direction, incorporating darker sounds and unsettling tempos and metrics. This is also thanks to the then new guitarist Roberto Cadau, who joined the band in 2021 bringing in a new range of influences and several mathcore, chaotic hardcore and noise punk elements.
On their upcoming album, MIND/KNOT embrace all the beloved history of hardcore to create something that is more personal, equally pummeling and heavy as soaring, both beautiful and cruel in different moments.

Max Cavalera states, “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the creation of SEPULTURA with my brother Iggor than to have these re-recordings be released in the 40th anniversary year, 2023!!!”
Iggor Cavalera comments, “Sonically and visually, I am 100% proud of what we’ve achieved to bring the true essence of Bestial devastation and Morbid visions to everyone. It was a matter of honor to make sure these two records sound as powerful as possible to our devoted fans and ourselves.”
Watch the animated video created by Ben Clarkson for ‘Troops Of Doom‘ here:
Morbid Visions and Bestial Devastation were re-recorded at The Platinum Underground. The albums were produced by Max Cavalera and Iggor Cavalera while John Aquilino handled the engineering. PSYGNOSIS is a project started in 2009 by Rémi Vanhove, who was eager to gather all of his musical influences into one entity. A first solo EP, “Phrases”, was released in June 2009 and lays the foundations of PSYGNOSIS’ music: an atmospheric extreme Metal with hints of electronic music. Rémi then surrounded himself with a second guitarist, a bassist and a singer, and continues to program the drums himself.
The first album “Anti-Sublime” was released in January 2012 and allowed the band to continue the artistic process started with “Phrases”. This release also marked the first encounters of the quartet with the public. After the EP “Sublimation” in 2013, Psygnosis came out with a second album in 2014. “Human Be[ing]” shows that the band has gained in maturity, through better digested influences and compositions whose structures become more complex.
The year 2015 marks an important change for PSYGNOSIS: The band made the radical choice to become instrumental by recruiting Raphaël Verguin as a cellist. A first EP “AAliens” followed, followed up by the full length “Neptune” in 2017, an ambitious opus of one hour and seventeen minutes inviting the listeners to travel to the ends of the Solar System.
Despite the instrumental aspect, PSYGNOSIS continues to assert its first intention: that of a Metal mixing nervous riffs, blast beats and atmospheric ambiences. The meeting of Rémi and Raphaël with the guitarist Elise Masliah and the drummer Thomas Crémier enables the quartet to stabilize its formation and to defend on stage PSYGNOSIS’ intense and emotional music.

In 1993, groove thrashers EXTREMA released the album “Tension At The Seams” setting a new standard of quality never before achieved by an Italian metal band, both in terms of songwriting and arrangements, as well as production and units sold.
The album represented a true turning point for the band’s future, as it’s their pinnacle record for what would come in the following years from this visionary album. After the record’s release, they became one of the most sought-after bands across the country and went on performing hundreds of concerts along with sharing the stage with giants like Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Motorhead, and many more!
Fast forward to 2023, Extrema is excited to celebrate the 30th anniversary of “Tension At The Seams”, with an exclusive boxset edition that will be available for purchase on Rockshots Records. The 30th-anniversary edition is remastered from the original tapes and available in three formats: Vinyl Blue edition, cassette, and digital download.
In addition to the album, the boxset includes a rich and exclusive storybook with unpublished photos, memorabilia, articles, and notes from industry insiders close to the band at the time of the album’s release. To complete the circle, there is a never-before-published photo of the original lineup, two big pins with the legendary band logo and album cover, a patch, and a sticker.
In additional news, on Friday, October 6, on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary, Tsunami Edizioni will release the official biography “Un Fottuto Massacro Collettivo” (A Fucking Collective Massacre), written by Max Villa with contributions from Enrico Salvini (Extrema’s longtime manager) former members, and many industry professionals.
Those lucky enough to have known Extrema since the time of “Tension…” are well aware that the band has written many important chapters of Italian-made metal. That’s why the iconic Tsunami Edizioni also wanted to be part of this celebration, dedicating a book to EXTREMA that could closely recount the details – even the uncomfortable ones – of a story that deserved to be told.
The book will also be available during the band’s special 30th Anniversary concert on October 7th, which will also see the return of guitarist Marco Cassone (Fuzz Fuzz Machine, Cowboys From Hell) to complete the quintet’s lineup.
TENSION AT THE SEAMS 30th ANNIVERSARY SHOW will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Slaughter Club in Paderno Dugnano (MI)/. It will be a special event where Extrema will treat the fans to a lethal set list, featuring a large portion of tracks from their debut masterpiece, some of which have been absent from their shows for over twenty years, along with the most representative killer tracks of their incredible career.

DÅÅTH have just released their latest digital single, a cover of Morbid Angel‘s classic Where the Slime Live featuring a guest guitar solo performance by Dave Davidson of Revocation. The track was mixed and mastered by Dave Otero with artwork by Ryan Wolanski.
Check out Where the Slime Livehere and pre-order The Hinderers on Vinyl here!
Guitarist Eyal Levi had this to say about the cover: “It’s funny to say this because ‘Where The Slime Live’ is a total classic, but I’ve been feeling like people have not been giving Trey and co their due for the massive impact they’ve had on the evolution of metal. Not that our version of this song is going to change the world, but if any Morbid Angel song deserves the modern treatment, it’s this one. Everything about it more than holds up and showcasing it in this fashion really illuminates how ahead of their time they were. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed learning and interpreting this BANGER of a song!“
Dave Davidson added: “‘Where The Slime Live’ is one of my favorite Morbid tunes so I was stoked to be asked to lay down a solo for this killer cover. Trey has a very unique style so it was a cool challenge to tap into his vibe and let the lava flow so to speak. Hope y’all dig it!“
“As a fan of Dååth since the original demos in 2003 I absolutely jumped at the opportunity to work with the band two decades later. They perfectly executed the recording of Where the Slime Live and I’m really proud of the final mix” comments Dave Otero.
