Portuguese atmospheric sludge/post-metal trio Palegazer have revealed the full details of “White Mourning,” their debut album for Octopus Rising, set for release on October 30, 2026 on CD and digital formats.
Following the recent release of “Imminence”, the band now unveils the complete five-track album, an intense exploration of human fragility, loss, vulnerability and the process of letting go.
“White Mourning” reflects on the narratives we create to understand our experiences and the way our perceptions shape the realities around us. The album’s title embodies this duality, suggesting both mourning and liberation, with loss becoming a path towards rebirth and self-discovery.
Musically, Palegazer moves between immersive melancholy and crushing heaviness, combining atmospheric post-metal with the weight of sludge and doom. Drawing inspiration from YOB, Russian Circles, REZN, Deafheaven, Conan, Bölzer, Mastodon, Ahab and Bell Witch, the trio create a sound built on contrasts, moving from fragile melodic passages to towering riffs and intense vocal dynamics.
“White Mourning” was recorded at the band’s own studio and mixed and mastered by Diogo Santana of Noise Portrait Recordings.

Epic Storyteller Metal – the music is the image: Germany’s ASH OF ASHES exude a majestic sense of vastness with “All Must Wither”. The album is officially due for release on 30 October 2026.
Following their magnificent debut “Down The White Waters” in 2018, the duo Skaldir and Morten effortlessly maintained their high standard of quality four years later with “Traces”.
With their third full-length album, the musicians are now consistently continuing on their chosen path. Epic melodies meet sublime grandeur, cool fragility and deliberately employed roughness. Themes: mythology, life & death.
On 29 September, the music video for the first promising single, the title track “Ash Of Ashes”, was released … [ … learn more here » ]
Skaldir explains: “This song was chosen as the first single because you’re right in the thick of it from the very first notes. Musically, ‘Ash Of Ashes’ is driving, whilst the melodies and riffs are perfectly balanced. Lyrically, it deals with the theme of Ragnarök. I think fans of our previous albums will be able to connect with this straight away.”

From the BLUTGOTT METAL UNIVERSE comes the new single “Hier kommt der Tod”.
Brutal dark fantasy metal about the Blood God hordes of Balgeroth. The legions of the Blood Gods march into battle against the armies of Valhalla.
The song takes you on a journey into the dark, fantastical world of the band’s own Blutgott Universe. Musically, it’s melodic death metal with plenty of groove and a catchy chorus.
Recorded by Dennis Ward (Unisonic, Helloween, Krokus), with cover artwork by Thomas Gurrath.
‘Hier kommt der Tod’ is the 8th single from the upcoming BLUTGOTT album: ‘Die Schlacht um Knochenheim – Death of the Bloodking’, out on October 30.

With their new single “Saints & Sinners”, THE NEW ROSES open a new chapter. The song is a powerful rock anthem about true connection, made for both major stages and rock radio. Combining their signature blend of huge hooks, distinctive guitars and high-energy rock, THE NEW ROSES prove that their musical journey continues to move forward.
Even ahead of its official release, the song is already making waves and is receiving airplay across rock radio stations. Exactly one month after its release, THE NEW ROSES will kick off their extensive headlining tour, bringing their new song straight to stages across Germany and Switzerland.
Timmy Rough on“Saints & Sinners”: “What started out as an intimate ballad quickly evolved into a powerful anthem celebrating a true connection between two people – that feeling that anything is possible and nothing can stop us! Bringing that feeling to life required a pounding rhythm and a hymnic chorus. Because we all know from experience: when you find the right person, you don’t want to enjoy it quietly. You want to shout it out from the top of your lungs …”
Following their 2024 album Attracted To Danger, THE NEW ROSES now return with new music. Since forming in Germany in 2013, the band have established themselves as one of the country’s most successful rock acts and have performed on countless international stages – including support tours with bands such as KISS and Scorpions. Their 2019 album Nothing But Wild reached #10 on the German album charts.

Following their first European headline tour in spring 2026 and, more recently, a headline tour across the United States in August and September, EIHWAR will hit the road again in February 2027 for a third tour in support of their new album Hugrheim.
Released in March 2026 via Season of Mist, Hugrheim opened a new chapter for the band that could easily be described as the “enfants terribles of pagan folk”. EIHWAR pushes its distinctive blend of Nordic folk, electro, fantasy and incantatory vocals even further, while keeping intact what has become one of the duo’s trademarks: a taste for chaos, mischief and sheer madness. On stage, their rituals are anything but solemn: there is dancing, pounding drums, shouting, laughter, games with the audience, and a pagan ceremony that willingly turns into one huge tribal celebration.
Named after the tenth, hidden world of Yggdrasil, Hugrheim builds a mythology of its own: ten tracks moving through named regions of an invented realm, sung in trance languages that surface intuitively and cannot be translated literally. At its centre are Mark and Asrunn themselves, cast as two spirits recovering fragments of memory from a former existence, incarnated in human bodies. It is a concept album that treats its own lore with total conviction, expanding a universe that already stretches to an illustrated map and a pseudo-historical text of its own.
After bringing this universe to stages including Hellfest, Wacken and Midgardsblot, and touring across Europe and the United States, EIHWAR will continue the adventure with 15 new shows across 8 European countries.
For this new tour, EIHWAR will be joined by Swedish band Hindarfjäll. Signed to Grimfrost Records, Hindarfjäll have released three albums, featuring guests including Peter Franzén (from the series Vikings) and Johan Hegg (Amon Amarth). Their music explores the rituals, ancestral knowledge and mythology of Scandinavia, where the band originates.

Ten tracks, one made-up world, and a straight face throughout: Hugrheim is EIHWAR‘s guide to the tenth, secret realm of Yggdrasil, a place nobody asked for but everybody now needs. Mark and Asrunn play it as two wayward spirits stumbling back into human bodies and piecing their memories together one trance-language incantation at a time, because regular lyrics were never going to cut it. There’s an illustrated map. There’s a pseudo-historical text. There is, in short, an entire fictional cosmology built with more care than most people put into their actual jobs, and it still finds time to make you dance.

The enfants terribles of Season of Mist and the pagan scene’s sacrilegious project, Eihwar, is an explosive mix of nordic folk and electro-industrial. Far from the ceremonial seriousness of most neo-viking bands, their wild, cartoonish style remixes Norse mythology with a Mad Max twist.
Last year confirmed that their minimalist electro setup can unleash joyful chaos among big metal festival crowds, with performances at Wacken Open Air, Resurrection Fest and Midgardsblot. Chosen by The Hu as the opening act for their French and German shows, Eihwar is quite a meteor strike for a band founded just two years ago.
“Over the past few years, our souls have gradually taken over the bodies of two human musicians. Through incarnation, we lost much of our memories. All that remains are images, emotions, and fragments from our previous existence, mixed in with the thoughts and memories of our human hosts. In this new song, we evoke thememories that gradually come back to us: memories of Hugrheim, the tenth world of Yggdrasil, hidden and unknown to men. This world is shaped by the Hugr, the spirit. In this realm dwell the invisible forces of the soul and consciousness. When our vessels perish here and our incarnation ends, we will return to Hugrheim. Still, we hope to remain here as long as possible this time, because nowadays the beer is fucking good, the rockstar life is pretty damn cool, and dental anesthesia actually exists.” — Mark & Asrunn

Symphonic metal outfit LIVA unveil the official music video for “O Roma Nobilis,” bringing a centuries-old Latin hymn into the band’s distinctive world of orchestral arrangements, operatic vocals, and heavy guitar work. The track is taken from the band’s album Ecce Mundus, out via Wormholedeath.
Written in praise of Rome, the hymn presents the Eternal City as a place of grandeur, devotion, and spiritual power, invoking the blood of its martyrs and the purity of white lilies before turning to Saints Peter and Paul. Through its prayers for mercy, guidance and wisdom, the centuries-old text becomes something far more than a historical relic in LIVA’s hands.
With its ceremonial atmosphere and imposing scale, “O Roma Nobilis” feels like a journey back through the gates of the Eternal City, where ancient voices, sacred imagery, and modern metal converge.
The official video, filmed by Pierre L’Espérance, brings another layer of visual drama to LIVA’s interpretation, complementing the song’s timeless atmosphere and theatrical character.
Known for its symphonic power metal opera approach, Liva is among the first Canadian acts to merge classical music and metal in this format.
The lineup on the new album features Nadine Guertin (soprano), Pier Carlo Liva (death and tenor vocals, guitars, electronics), Martin Tremblay (bass), and Claude Lacroix (drums). Following the recording, Philippe Leblanc joined the band as the new drummer.
Liva’s back catalog includes Requiem (2002), a heavy metal interpretation of the Latin requiem mass; De Insulis (2007), based on the Latin texts of 12th-century theologian Alain de Lille; and Human Abstract (2013). In March 2002, the band performed live with a 13-piece chamber orchestra for a Radio-Canada broadcast. The following year, they received the MIMI award for “artiste le plus avant-gardiste” (most avant-garde artist), recognizing their fusion of classical and metal. Over the years, Liva has shared the stage with acts such as Voivod, Gorguts, Nightwish, Kataklysm, and Therion.
