Following her triumphant “Faster” UK tour in October 2022, American guitarist, and singer songwriter Samantha Fish has teamed up with American rock guitarist Jesse Dayton on a nationwide 10-date UK tour to promote their brand-new critically acclaimed album “Death Wish Blues.” The highly anticipated UK tour teams two wild talents together onstage, an uncommon and fiery pairing of two bandleader guitar heroes trading lead vocal and guitar duties.

To celebrate the news, a special concert at the legendary 100 Club in London has been just announced. See the show up close and personal! The 100 Club concert will take place on Monday October 30. Tickets for the 100 Club concert will go on sale at 10am on Friday May 26 from www.alttickets.com/samantha-fish-tickets and www.gigantic.com/samantha-fish-tickets.

Planet Rock have secured 100 tickets to this very special show which can be purchased now via Planet Rock’s website www.planetrock.com.

Tickets for all of the UK tour dates are available from www.alttickets.com/samantha-fish-tickets, www.gigantic.com/samantha-fish-tickets, www.ticketmaster.co.uk, www.samanthafish.com/tour and www.jessedayton.com.

Special guests are the Canadian roots rock band, The Commoners, who recently graced Planet Rock Radio’s airwaves with their popular radio tracks “Fill My Cup,” Find A Better Way,” and “Too Much.

Samantha and Jesse will perform songs from their new album “Death Wish Blues” including the radio hit single “Deathwish.” In addition, Samantha will perform songs from her 2021 album “Faster.” The album includes the singles “Twisted Ambition”, “All Ice, No Whiskey”, “Better Be Lonely” and “Faster”. Samantha will also perform songs from her extensive back catalogue including the radio smash single “Bulletproof” from her 2019 breakthrough album, “Kill Or Be Kind.”

After launching her recording career in 2009, Samantha Fish established herself as a rising star in the contemporary blues world. The charismatic singer-guitarist-songwriter has earned a reputation as a rising guitar hero and powerful live performer, while releasing a series of acclaimed albums that have shown her restless creative spirit consistently pushing her in new, exciting, and often unexpected musical directions.

The New York Times called Fish, “An impressive blues guitarist who sings with sweet power,” and “One of the genre’s most promising young talents.” Her hometown paper, the Kansas City Star wrote: “Samantha Fish has kicked down the door of the patriarchal blues club and displays more imagination and creativity than some blues veterans exhibit over the course of their careers.”

Samantha believes her musical future is an open road. “I’m never going be a traditional blues artist, because that’s not who I am,” she says. “But it’s all the Blues for me. When Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf came out, what they were doing didn’t sound like anything that had been done in Blues before. You’ve got to keep that kind of fire and spirit. I’m never going to do Muddy Waters better than Muddy Waters, so I try to be who I am, and in doing that, I find my best voice.”

Equally steeped in Texas/Louisiana blues, old-school country and punk-rock, guitarist Jesse Dayton has long been a well-kept secret of the music world, a road warrior touring alongside acts as diverse as George Strait, Rob Zombie, Social Distortion, the Supersuckers, and John Doe and a sought after session player and sideman hiding in plain sight as a guitarist for Waylon Jennings, Duff McKagan, Ryan Bingham, Glenn Danzig, and L.A. punk pioneers X and boasting an extraordinary background that includes recording with the likes of Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings, working with Rob Zombie on the soundtracks for his iconic horror films, and releasing a series of acclaimed solo albums.

Inducted in 2022 into the Austin Music Hall of Fame, Dayton’s life story reads like a “who’s who” of American music. After being discovered at a Beaumont dive bar by Clifford Antone, owner of iconic Austin’s Home of the Blues, Dayton’s trio began packing clubs and theatres across Houston, Dallas, and Austin, Texas. His first solo record—featuring great luminaries like Doug Sahm, Flaco Jimenez, and Johnny Gimble—hit #1 on the Americana charts, and then he was off to the races, touring the world with punk legends Social Distortion, The Supersuckers, and X, and helping with arrangements and guitar on The Supersuckers’ biggest selling record, “Must’ve Been High.”

VOMITORY Release Visualizer for New Single ‘Piece by Stinking Piece’, New Album Out Now

In any serious conversation about death metal the name VOMITORY has to come up. Following their inception in 1989, between 1996 and 2011 they dropped eight of the most blistering albums the genre has spewed up, the quartet parting ways in 2013. However, the band’s retirement turned out to be short lived, returning to stages in 2019 to celebrate the band’s 30th anniversary, and now they drop their first new full-length in twelve years, the monstrous All Heads Are Gonna Roll.

Check out the visualizer for the new single Piece by Stinking Piece HERE!

You can find the production videos for All Heads Are Gonna Roll and Raped, Strangled, Sodomized, Dead (both directed by Marcus Svensson / dpmarcus.com) at: metalblade.com/vomitory – where the album can be ordered in various formats.

Boasting the classic VOMITORY sound with a few new twists and turns, it is everything their faithful could have hoped for, the band having taken their time before committing to it rather than rushing in. “We weren’t feeling any pressure, it was rather about making a decision whether we should continue as a band, i.e. release new material, or simply put the band back in the grave again,” explains drummer Tobias Gustafsson. “We wrote a few songs first just for the fun of it, to see if we still ‘had it’, before we made the final decision to continue and make a new full-length album.“

All Heads Are Gonna Roll is best described as “fast, grinding, D-beat, fist-in-your-face death metal“, it features fresh aspects that are uncommon to VOMITORY records. “One thing in particular we did was to try to build distinct choruses in the songs, which is something we didn’t put too much effort into earlier,” explains drummer Tobias Gustafsson. “We have also spent a lot more time working with the backing vocal arrangements, which we certainly think paid off very well. It brings something new to our sound. We have also tried to write more straightforward riffs, like we did in the early 2000s.“

The instruments for the record were tracked in the band’s rehearsal space, on a mobile studio setup engineered by Mats Lindström, and was self-produced. This allowed them to work at their own pace in the hours that worked for them, rather than having this dictated to them as would be the case if they had rented a studio. “Although we had a lot of flexibility to choose our working hours, it was still crucial to keep the recording schedule as strict as possible, because it was so easy to say ‘let’s do it tomorrow instead’.” For vocals, they went to Leon Music Studios and engineer Rikard Löfgren, which was where they recorded their last three albums. They brought in good friend Christian Fredriksson (Vulkan) to play some guitar solos, but otherwise it is entirely their own work. With vivid horror movie-inspired artwork – with a hint of anti-religion thrown in for good measure – All Heads Are Gonna Roll really is the whole package for death metal fans, and a stunning return to form after so many years between releases.

Yesterday, May 26th, the all-star metal collaboration ELEGANT WEAPONS dropped their debut album, Horns for a Halo – furthermore the fans can also view their latest music video, for the title track. Comprised of RAINBOW singer Ronnie Romero, JUDAS PRIEST guitarist Richie Faulkner, URIAH HEEP bassist Dave Rimmer, and ACCEPT drummer Christopher Williams, the title track from Horns for a Halo is the third single/video, and can be watched below.

“Unmistakably dark and brooding, light and dark, good and evil. A mid-paced blend of Birmingham and Seattle with a slice of thrash thrown in” explains Richie Faulkner. “The title track “Horns For A Halo” is like Tony Iommi crossed with Alice In Chains. It’s about the way we justify the bad things we do. When we turn up on Judgement Day, will the angels kind of confuse our horns for halos, if you know what I mean.“

The band’s earlier singles/videos, “Blind Leading the Blind” and “Do or Die” can also be viewed and heard via these links:

It’s official: TYGERS OF PAN TANG‘s new album is now the most successful record in the band’s history since the heydays in the 80s. “Bloodlines” has entered sales charts in several countries, including Germany for the first time (#89 on the Top 100 Album Chart), UK (#35 in physical sales charts), Denmark (#12 on the physical sales charts, #11 in the vinyl charts) and Sweden (#14 in physical sales charts).

This is an amazing result, even for a band with such a rich sales history as the Tygers, and confirms the positive signs given by the press reactions to “Bloodlines”, as well as the warehouse frenzy Mighty Music experienced in the weeks before the release.

Having just headlined a sold-out Nordic Noise Festival in Copenhagen, the band is now ready to take the festival tour this Summer, where they will hit the stages of Alcatraz, Time To Rock, Rock Imperium and Iron Fest Open air, among others.

“Bloodlines” is out now on LP (black and red vinyl, with the latter being limited to 500), CD and digital formats via Mighty Music. Orders are available here.

“Bloodlines” tracklist:

1. Edge Of The World
2. In My Blood
3. Fire On The Horizon
4. Light Of Hope
5. Back For Good
6. Taste Of Love
7. Kiss The Sky
8. Believe
9. A New Heartbeat
10. Making All The Rules

DARKNESS IS MY CANVAS Release Lyric Video for Bring Me The Horizon’s ‘Drown’, New EP Out Later in 2023

Finnish Helsinki-based progressive melodic rock band Darkness Is My Canvas is set to release their new EP ‘White Noise’ later in 2023 via Inverse Records. The second single ‘Drown’ from the upcoming EP is a track that needs no further introduction. It’s originally recorded by Bring Me The Horizon.

The band comments:

“Drown” is a song released by Bring Me The Horizon in 2014, which according to one interpretation, is about severe depression. Our singer Pete struggled with depression in his teenage years and he thinks that the song is about the depths you can sink into if you don’t have trusted people around you. “Drown” has been an empowering song for us in the past few years and we wanted to make our own interpretation of it. Darkness Is My Canvas reflects many themes related to mental health in its music. Bring Me The Horizon also themes their lyrics in a way that they are universal and relatable through their own perspective. We have been listening to “Drown” since its release in 2014 and later added it to our setlist. In its final version, the song ended up on our EP without any hesitation from both us and Inverse Records. “Drown” may be so important to someone that radical changes to the song’s atmosphere could cause alienation from it. We listened to different arrangements of “Drown” played by BMTH and picked the most suitable parts for our instruments. Panu wanted to add a 90s grunge vibe to the song. Pete’s vocals range from soft baritone to screaming. We really like the end result – we managed to get a strong interpretation out of Pete. Mikko Kaakkuriniemi did a great job on the drums (which was not a surprise), and Panu had an easy time playing bass, guitars, and singing backing vocals.

Darkness Is My Canvas (DIMC) was founded in Helsinki in 2017. The band plays melodic rock combined with progressive elements, stylistically influenced by bands such as Muse, Queen, Pink Floyd, Leprous, and on occasion also Porcupine Tree and My Chemical Romance. Their catchy melodies have many musical hooks, and the band likes to throw curve balls at the audience by changing time and style mid-song – and they do this completely intentionally. The imaginative sound of DIMC wells up from the melody-rich guitar playing of Panu and the voice of Pete, who, some say, sounds like the young David Bowie.

All the songs of DIMC come from the mind and pen of Pete and Panu, who are also the “founding fathers” of the band. They also play all the other instruments in the studio beside the drums, which are trusted to some of the top drummers in Finland. The mastering is done by none other than Grammy Award winner Nicolas Fournier (LA) who’s had his hands on many recordings by many of the band’s idols (Muse, Linkin Park, Adam Lambert, etc.).

DIMC was founded on what was left from the previous band of multi-instrumentalist Panu and lead singer/guitarist Pete. It was called May:Day, and it represented some sort of an amalgamation of Finnish progressive rock of the 70s and more modern Finnish rock music. Should someone want to listen to their album “I”, they will find it by digging through the Internet, as it has not been officially released. DIMC needed to distinguish themselves from the previous band as they changed their language from Finnish to English and their style became more nuanced.

To date, DIMC has released one EP called “Monsters” and one single called “The Game”. Their songs have been downloaded quite nicely from streaming services such as Spotify, in which the counter reached 20 000 this March.

Pete Erkintalo – vocals, guitar
Gabriel Schneider – bass
Juuso Grönmark – drums
