DEGREES OF TRUTH have released a visualizer video for ‘Over the Tide’, second single taken from the new album ‘Alchemists’ to be released on June 23rd via Scarlet Records.

“Everybody has right to express their identity, regardless of society’s expectations. We are all human: understanding and compassion are the key to a better world.” – Degrees Of Truth

Check out the single at https://bfan.link/over-the-tide

‘Alchemists’ is the most eclectic album by Degrees of Truth: it combines innovative arrangements and influences from pop and electronic music, while leaning towards a modern and very elegant progressive metal side.

The album features catchy melodies, symphonic orchestrations but also compelling guitar riffs and versatile vocals that range from rock-style melodies to delicate chants and even operatic digressions, carried out by the new extraordinary singer Claudia Beltrame.

The variegated songwriting reflects the multiple lyrical themes, which include mini-concepts about the meaning of life, freedom and artistic creation.

  • enginereed, produced and mixed by Gianluca Parnisari; mastered by Giovanni Versari at La Maestà Mastering Studio
  • artwork by Martin Perzul; graphic concept by 21O4
  • guest appearances by Richard Henshall (Haken) on ‘Bound to Rise’ and Khaled Abbas on ‘Over the Tide’

DEGREES OF TRUTH:
Claudia Beltrame – vocals
Daniele Brianza – guitar, ukulele
Gianluca Parnisari – keyboards, piano, additional percussions
Lorenzo Corsalini – bass

And among all of them, the slight “detail” that will be CHRONICLE‘s third full-length album, “Where Chaos Thrives”, will likely put melodic/technical death metal fans in a frenzy. ANIMA HERETICAE, drawing elements from Scandinavian death and black metal and incorporating orchestration to enhance both epicness and grandeur, will release their debut album “Descended From the Mountains” on September 22nd.

The recently released second single, also made into a music video, is titled “Kraken,” representing the heaviest and darkest aspect of the album musically and atmospherically. Guitarist Taneli Jämsä shares the background of the song:

“The melodies of the song were created in the rugged landscapes of Pyynikki, Tampere after a hard day’s work. The tranquility of the surroundings heightens the senses, and the mystique and enigma of nature enhance the musical inspiration. It is always important to listen to and respect nature.”

The song is also available on Spotify at https://push.fm/fl/animahereticae-kraken

The music video for “Kraken,” produced by drummer Teppo Ristola, can be watched below.

APOTHEUS continue to explore its storytelling universe with its follow-up to the 2019’s critically acclaimed album The Far Star.

New Album “Ergo Atlas” is a direct sequel, that continues to evolve the band’s sound.

Experimenting with new musical techniques and incorporating a variety of influences, their sound roars with passion and dedication, enveloped with a thick mantle of an epic sci-fi story.

The album is set millions of years after “The Far Star” mission took place, artificial intelligence has come up with an ingenious plan that puts life in the Universe at risk.

Ergo Atlas is the second volume of the saga, which started in 2019 and continues in 2023, inspired by the famous science fiction writer Issac Asimov. Apotheus introduces new atmospheres and emotions in the nine chapters of the new album, in a roller coaster of melodies, messages, and intrigues that will be revealed along with the musical and literary work.

The future is coming, there is no stopping it. Embrace and shape it or fall behind. Apotheus is breaking new insights into a possible branch of humanity direction with their coming release Ergo Atlas, and the first single releases today, with a full Music Video below!

Pre-order and Stream Ergo Atlas HERE!

Lead Explorer Miguel comments:  “Shape and Geometry” ruthlessly kicks off Ergo Atlas and tells the story of the ascension of an all-powerful being called GODS. With a piercing and rhythmic main riff, the music drives forward, capturing the fear and desperation of those caught in God’s wake.

As the song draws to a close, it becomes more contemplative and emotional, describing the aftermath of God’s ascension and the impact it has on the whole galaxy. We’re firm believers this song captures the full might of GODS. Prepare to be crushed!

Tracklist
1. Shape and Geometry
2. The Unification Project
3. Firewall
4. Cogito
5. Ergo Bellum
6. March to Redemption
7. Alphae’s Sons
8. Re: union
9. Re: genesis

The group currently consists of Miguel Andrade (vocals/rhythm guitar), Luís “Gold Monkey” (lead guitar), Daniel Rocha (bass), and Albano “von Hammer” (drums).

ASGAARD Announce “W sercu nieświata” EP & Release First Single

Posted by tarjavirmakari on May 21, 2023

Poland’s stalwart ASGAARD, having successfully returned to the map of gothic rock/metal with their 7th full-length “What if…” (released last year on Wormholedeath Records / Szataniec; digital/physical respectively), is about to put out an EP titled “W sercu nieświata” that features acoustic versions of the three tracks from the aforementioned album. The band has once again teamed up with a renowned and award-winning graphic designer Bartłomiej Trzos who created the EP’s cover art. In addition, each of the songs will be accompanied by photos by Bernard Wcisło and music videos produced by Brrvids.

“Acoustic songs were born out of a need to create a new form, without distortion, heavy guitars or massive sounding drums, in order to unearth qualities hidden in this music, at least on a surface level. Recording these songs in a non-metal manner was an entirely new challenge for us. We wanted to prove to ourselves – as well as to our fans – that we can successfully tackle playing in a different style, and that we are open and versatile musicians and not afraid to try new things. And I hope we achieved it. During the recording process, we used a number of interesting locations, like the chamber music hall in Music School Complex No. 1 in Warsaw. Moreover, we had plenty of unique instruments at our disposal. One of them was an upright piano, made in 1895, coming from a phenomenal music factory called Małecki, located in Warsaw, which unfortunately was destroyed during times of war and occupation. This particular piano has a distinct, deep, and noble sound. Slight differences in pitch or creaking while pushing the ‘sustain’ pedal shows that such an instrument is truly one of a kind. To capture a warm tone for new arrangements, we recorded all parts with the use of ribbon microphones and utilized brushes for the snare drum for the very first time in our careers. Those three compositions are not for everyone but we believe it is a fresh and subtle take on our music, which also provides a broader perspective on what we do. Asgaard was never a band that sticks to a particular formula, which is our trademark at this point I guess. After all, isn’t it the embodiment of artistic freedom?” – says Flumen, the band’s keyboardist.

The “W sercu nieświata” EP will be released digitally via Wormholedeath Records / The Orchard / Sony Music Ent.

Tracklisting:

1. Sny na jawie (acoustic version)
2. What if… (acoustic version)

Exiled Russian Metallers IMPERIAL AGE Move to Britain on Talent Visas, Following Endorsement by Arts Council England

Posted by tarjavirmakari on May 21, 2023
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Imperial Age. Leave a comment

When the Russian invasion of Ukraine began, IMPERIAL AGE founders and singers Jane Odintsova and Alexander ‘Aor’ Osipov published an antiwar manifesto and left their native Moscow for Turkey. The band had enjoyed increasing international popularity since 2020, especially among Western audiences, while staying independent from record labels, which allowed them to make the move and continue their band while fully relying on their music sales to make ends meet.

Over the next year they managed to finish and release “New World” – Imperial Age’s latest album – as well as to tour the EU and UK, securing the visas which were denied to many other Russian citizens.

During their UK tour in January 2023 they were endorsed by England’s Arts Council as ‘Exceptional Talents’, which allowed Jane and Aor to relocate to the UK on Global Talent visas – an elite immigration route reserved for internationally acclaimed artists, sportspeople and scientists.

The musicians posted on their website the following message:

“This moment is historical for us, and the biggest move of our lives so far. After leaving Russia and spending a year of uncertainty in Turkey in a dubious legal state, we finally have firm soil under our feet – something we never truly had before – in the form of Global Talent UK residency until 2026, after which we can both extend or apply for settlement and later – citizenship. We have come here for the long term, and are already searching for a good rent somewhere in the rural areas of the country.

Once that is settled, we will be able to resume full-scale work on our music and touring, only this time in incomparably better conditions.

We are infinitely grateful to our fans and Crowdfunders who made this move possible. Once we have found a place to live, we will start shipping out the perks and will also set up a date for the homecoming acoustic concert. We already have a venue in mind in London 😉”.
