CORRODED is a heavy metal band from Ånge, Sweden. The break came in 2009 with the song Time And Again and debut album ‘Eleven Shades of Black’. Since then they’ve released four more albums, toured relentlessly (including several European tours, both on their own and as support for bands like Airbourne), had the théme song for the Swedish TV show Survivor (Expedition Robinson in Sweden) and music in the globally popular video game Battlefield. Their latest (5th) album ‘Bitter‘ was released in 2019, was followed by a European tour and ended the year with a slight change in line-up (long time member Tomas Andersson left the band).
As for most bands, the pandemic hit hard, but the band dug themselves into a black hole and recorded their sixth album – working title ‘Plague’. They comment: ”-We’ve got 5 ”children”…each and everyone as much important as the other ones…but this one is our lovechild, our very special ”late bloomer” or ”trailing child”, born out of the anxiety and boredom of the plague…and, except from mastering, all done by ourselves…welcome to the dark soul of CORRODED..enjoy the ride..”
The first taste of the new album is the single ‘Monster‘ and it sets the bar high and hard for what’s to come. The singer Jens Westin writes: – “Monster is one of the first songs that we wrote for the album, and we wanted that song to be the first single because it’s a Monster of a song. It’s a groovy semi fast paced song that we really like to play, and we hope that most of our fans will enjoy.”
Following hot on the heels of their killer DEAD END BLUES single, PALACE OF THE KING keep dropping new material and this time it’s a high energy rocker called FRIENDS IN LOW PLACES, which brings back fond memories of early Aerosmith, Rose Tattoo and Guns n Roses.
FRIENDS IN LOW PLACES is again produced by Tim Henwood and mixed by Ricki Rae (Baby Animals) at Lighthill studios.
As always POTK kick ass here with killer guitars supplied by Leigh Maden, Seany Johnston and Henwood, but the energy screaming from the speakers and hitting you in the face is that of the rhythm section, Cameron Mcglinchey on drums and Anthony Licciardi on bass. It’s like a rock n roll steam roller flattening everything in it’s path.
If you like dirty rock n roll Get your ears around ‘Friends In Low Places’ by Palace Of The King and prepare yourself for the full album later in 2023.
“Face Down” the latest song from platinum-selling alternative-industrial rock pioneers FILTER, is available digitally now via Golden Robot Records.
“Face Down” follows the release of “For the Beaten”, which was the first Filter track to be issued by Golden Robot in October 2022. Written by Filter founder Richard Patrick, “Face Down” is classic Filter – a tight song with loads going on, including some killer drum fills and a restrained vocal delivery that seems ready to explode at any given point as the song progresses. The track lets you know early on where it is headed and locks you in from the start without ever becoming predictable. It will appear on Filter’s upcoming album, which is expected to arrive in 2023.
“‘Face Down’ speaks to the hate and negativity plaguing the world today,” said Patrick. “I wrote it after being inundated with lies, deceptions, and pure vitriol I saw on social media. I’m pumped. I can’t wait for everyone to hear the full album.”
For the first time in their 30-year career, Filter will present California Screamin’ – a full concert global stream performed LIVE on location in Los Angeles. HITKOR will be the official on demand streaming partner for the show, which will take place June 17. The LIVE performance will include special guests, classic songs Filter has not performed in over 25 years and the debut of brand-new material. “I’ve been itching to do a live stream since things shut down a couple years ago but I got caught up in the studio working on our new album,” said Patrick. “When Scott [Donnell, CMO HITKOR] came to me and told me about HITKOR, and then invited me down to see Ministry do their thing, I was sold.”
California Screamin’ LIVE tickets are 14.99USD and All-Access passes are 19.99USD. For this special engagement, FrontRow advanced ticket discounts are 9.99USD and 14.99USD respectively and are available until Friday June 2nd. Purchase only at HITKOR.com.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the band’s birth. The celebration of Filter’s anniversary began in earnest late last year when Patrick was invited to join Nine Inch Nails for a special fan day Q&A at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The following night NIN mastermind Trent Reznor had Patrick and other former and current NIN band members join him for a special performance at the Blossom Center in Cleveland, OH, where the band was originally formed. The expanded NIN performed such staples as “Eraser,” “Wish,” “Sin,” “Gave Up,” “Head Like a Hole,” and a cover of Filter’s 1994 monster hit, “Hey Man Nice Shot.”
Filter also reissued their masterpiece “The Amalgamut,” this year through Craft Recordings which became available for the first time on vinyl.
Beginning in May, Filter will embark on a 6-month-long tour crisscrossing the United States and Canada before a planned trip overseas to play in Europe and Australia in 2024. Filter’s tour plans so far include headline shows, festival appearances and a place on the Freaks on Parade tour with Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper, and Ministry.
The band will be offering a limited number of FILTER FANATIC VIP Packages that include exclusive merch, signed tour posters, used gear items, meet & greets and photos with the band on many of the dates below. More information and tickets at www.officialfilter.com

BURNING VIBES have released their brand new single “Dark Room”, available now on all the best music stores, on the Wanikiya Record’s Japanese store, on Crash Sound Distribution! A single full of energy and pure Rock!!!
The band tells: BURNING VIBES’ history has distant roots. It all started many years ago when Max “il Ninja” d’Amelio and Rob “the Train” Monza were still two teenagers, friends and rock music enthusiasts. Max on guitar and Rob on drums, they play in various Rock bands during the 90s and 2000s, increasingly refining their technique and a virtuoso and hammering style.
In 2014 they meet again and decide to resume a discourse interrupted many years before.
2017… It took some time to find a stable line-up, it is in this period that we start calling ourselves BurningVibes. We started making loud music!!! A Hard Rock Heavy Metal with Prog, Glam and Trash influences.
In 2020 Mark Rugghia joined the band, an expert singer with a voice with an ultrasonic extension and scratchy timbre, oxygen for our songs. Shortly after Mark’s arrival, the band was left without a bassist, hence the meeting with Mauro Savazzi, technical and gritty bassist, with a great Power rock attitude, and capable of merging with Rob to create a detonating rhythmic structure!
From 2022 Burning Vibes are reborn, stronger than ever… listening is believing!!!
Since their inception in 2006, THE HIP PRIESTS have released a mighty thirty 7” singles, four albums, two compilations and three EPs by various independent labels from all over Europe & the USA. Fiercely independent and tirelessly driven, the ‘Priests have preached their high energy sermon of misanthropy, hate and contempt across numerous tours of the UK, Europe and USA and made countless rapturously received festival appearances.
Gaining a richly deserved reputation as a white-hot live band, the last few years have seen the band’s popularity increasing further with them regularly playing alongside kindred spirits such as The Hellacopters, Gluecifer, The Good the Bad and the Zugly, New Bomb Turks, Dwarves and Zeke at both festivals and in clubs. Rave reviews pour in for every release, ranging from ‘a band on top of their game & steps ahead of any of their UK contemporaries’ to ‘if you’re in any doubt about how good these bad boys are then you need locking up’. After 16 years some bands would be taking it easy but in spite of a global pandemic, there was no let-up in their determination and activity. Their fifth, and by far their best full-length album – ‘Roden House Blues’ – was written, rehearsed, and recorded during this period and was released May 5th, 2023, via The Sign Records.
Rehearsed, recorded and mixed between the numerous U.K lockdowns in Roden House, one of Nottingham’s former lace factories where the Priests have their own space, and which spawned the album title. This is no Mississippi Blues but perhaps it makes more sense than you think: Howling laments, loss, self-reflection and revelation – alongside some recurring Priests lyrical themes: negativity, nihilism, rage and revolution. After 2019’s ‘Stand for Nothing’ the band were unsure whether they’d do another album – However, global lockdown inadvertently led to a renewed passion and realisation that, like Jagger said, ‘’what can a poor boy do’ – especially when feeling more lost in a world that increasingly resembles a dumpster fire. A few dozen demos were scrutinised of which, through a stricter than ever group consensus, 14 were recorded but then honed down, razor sharp, into the tightest collection of 11 low-fat, lean and mean banging tunes that could fit into 30 minutes.
11 glorious tracks of High Energy R’n’R, anthemic, adrenalised, sweaty, singalong, life-affirming Rock and Roll. Huge Choruses, colossal dual guitar rifferama, more hooks than a fishing shop, and one hell of an attitude. Punk? Garage Rock? Scandi Rock? Just know this…. They ARE The Hip Priests and YOU are NOT.
Play Loud or just don’t fuckin’ bother.
‘Roden House Blues’ is released on May the 5th and is available on all streaming platforms, CD, and in three color variants on vinyl; (1) black vinyl, (2) solid turquoise vinyl with solid white splatter, solid black splatter, and solid blue splatter, and (3) transparent/clear vinyl with transparent yellow splatter and transparent pink splatter.
After a series of epic, sprawling and headphones-friendly albums, June 16, 2023 will see Motorpsycho return with a short, reasonably pop-formatted and intimate album of mainly acoustically based songs. Yay! marks Motorpsycho‘s 31st album, and will be released via Stickman Records and in Scandinavia & UK through Motorpsycho‘s own label Det Nordenfjeldske Grammofonselskab. Coming as CD, and red and black LP vinyl edition, the pre-sale has just started at THIS LOCATION!
For once playing the game instead of trying to reinvent it, this 10-song album of tunes is clearly a reaction in some way to too much architecture and too many grand visions, and dials the music down to more comprehensive and digestible sizes than have been the band’s métier lately.
Motorpsycho have always been about the balance between hard and soft, electric and acoustic, big and small, light and shade … and now the time was right for a lighter touch to balance the scales. Yang to the Yin of earlier, more epic works (N.O.X., The Crucible, and Chariot Of The Gods), this is also an album that is relatively easy on the ears, and that actually works really well with a cup of tea at noon.
A first single, entitled “Patterns”, is now streaming online. A report from the darkest days of Covid (read a full and in-depth statement by the band about the making of Yay!HERE), this melancholy song combines Motorpsycho‘s trademarked dense guitar walls with naked lyrics sung with unusually great tenderness by someone who’s been there and understands the words. With a fantastic retro-futuristic neo-psychedelic production, this is a song to drown in. Listen to “Patterns”, now available on all digital streaming services HERE!
Yay! was produced by Reine Fiske and Lars Fredrik Swahn (Dungen, Melody’s Echo Chamber, The Amazing et al), and their production work brings a sweet Swedish psych edge to the album, giving it a lysergic tinge and charging what could easily have been a bit too ‘’backporchy” with an electric vibe that lifts it out of the often staid singer/songwriter genre, but still keeping the intimacy intact.
While as ever clearly drawing on inspiration from late 60s/early 70s heroes, Yay! is as indebted to earlier iterations of Motorpsycho as anything else, and will be recognizable to fans of vintage Motorpsychodelia as well as a breath of fresh air to newer Psychonauts that only ever heard the heavy progressive side of the band.
Keeping things unpredictable and weird since 1989, there is only one Motorpsycho. Yay!
