KÄRBHOLZ to Release New Album “Kapitel 10: Wilde Augen” on June 2nd

The new KÄRBHOLZ studio album “Kapitel 10: Wilde Augen” will be released on June 2nd by Metalville Records.

What? Kärbholz again? Wasn’t it just „Kapitel 11: BARRIKADEN“; and now again? Who got it wrong?

A well-calculated promotional campaign or a total mathematical failure? In the house of Kärbholz, the creative spark seems to have started a conflagration with the first lockdown. Wait and see what time will bring, but don’t waste it was the credo and so the band not only composed material for a longplayer last year. No, songs for two full albums were created; all relevant and none that could have been parted with.

The only way for Kärbholz: Double In, Double Out.

The songs that were written in one episode were split between the two albums before production started: „Kapitel 10“ and „Kapitel 11“. And it was exactly in this order that the final recordings took place together with producers Alexander Dietz and Eike Freese. Week after week they lived and worked together. „Kapitel 10: WILDE AUGEN“ was finished – half-time – and off to production.

It continued with „Kapitel11: BARRIKADEN“ and exactly the moment when everything should change…

During the final studio phase for what was actually the second album “Kapitel11: BARRIKADEN”, this feeling spread… this feeling that everyone had, but no one dared:

This second album is actually the perfect FIRST album. These are actually the songs with which one wants to and should step out of the silence, which simply imposed themselves for this.

„Kapitel 10: WILDE AUGEN“ is more rudimentary and boisterous. It is the naughty brother with the torn trousers. But it is also the musical link between today and yesterday, perhaps most reminiscent of the 2009 album „RASTLOS“.

But what to do? „Kapitel 10: WILDE AUGEN“ was already produced. The vinyl was already on the table. And on it was written: KAPITELTEN! Irrefutable and irreversible. And even if no one here is considered a mathematical prodigy, 10 comes BEFORE 11.

But how was it a few years ago… “Always more heart than mind…”?

So what the hell! You know „Kapitel 11“? Then get to know „Kapitel 10 WILDE AUGEN“.

These eyes are hungry, want more and go round in circles… so in the end they don’t care… that little bit of maths.

GIRLSCHOOL Announce New Album “WTFortyfive?” & Reveal Lead Single ‘Are You Ready?’

FORTY-FIVE years young, British hard rock royalty GIRLSCHOOL come out swinging with their 14th studio album WTFortyfive?, a deliciously dirty declaration that age is a number that shows how much real raw attitude you have when it really counts. WTFortyfive? is set for release on July 28th via Silver Lining Music.

Lead single “Are You Ready?” sets the pace; a racy, raunchy, fun-saturated shape-shifter co-written with Alcatrazz’s Joe Stump that shows Girlschool’s leathers may still carry the well-baked battle scars of decades gone by, but their songs and attitude are as fresh, fun, heavy and catchy as ever before.

“The first new Girlschool music in nearly a decade! Powerful, heavy and with a great groove, this is the first single from our WTFortyfive? album! We think you’ll like it… Are You Ready? We are!” – Girlschool

Watch/Listen to “Are You Ready? (feat. Joe Stump)” below.

As a nod to their fellow partners in crime, Girlschool release today the animated video for “Are You Ready?”, the video sequel to Alcatrazz’s “Don’t Get Mad… Get Even (feat. Girlschool)” taken from the upcoming Alcatrazz’s album Take No Prisoners (set for release May 19th via Silver Lining Music).

Watch/Listen to Alcatrazz’s “Don’t Get Mad… Get Even (feat. Girlschool)” here – (video by Natalia Jonderko Śmiechowicz).

With WTFortyfive?, Kim McAuliffe (guitar/vocals), Denise Dufort (drums), Jackie Chambers (guitar/backing vocals) and Tracey Lamb (bass) leave the grit under their finger nails and the scuzz on their crusty leather boots as they riff and stomp their way through 12 statements of intent showing major attitude, some great melodies, and a consistent crunch to every guitar. There’s the addictive mototörcharged scuzz of “It Is What It Is”, the Wandsworth via Sunset Strip sway of “

“Bump In The Night”, the youthful, punky romp of “Up To No Good” and the smart, sassy, rock ‘n’ roll hooks of “Believing In You”, with McAuliffe’s vocals sounding as sharp and raucous as ever. And if THAT isn’t enough, their raunch roars and rolls alongside Biff Byford (Saxon), Phil Campbell (Motörhead), and Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses) on a cracking cover of “Born To Raise Hell”! So throw away your inhibitions and join these spectacularly wild women on the most glorious of rock ‘n’ roll rides. Lemmy knew, so should YOU!

WTFortyfive? will be released on 12” Vinyl, CD Digipak, Digital Download and Streaming and Special D2C bundles. Pre-order from April 25th at this location

BLAK29 Premiere New Video for ‘Blackout’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on April 25, 2023
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: BLAK29. Leave a comment

Powerhouse duo BLAK29, led by the multi-talented Steve Zing, are back with a sexy, catchy, and heavy as hell music video for “Blackout,” from their latest record, The Waiting, out last month via Cleopatra Records.

Check out the premiere via Revolver here.

The video juxtaposes a bright, illuminated stage show with the dark and seductive figure for whom the song was written. There’s plenty of modern flare here by way of sharp production and doomier undertones, but the classic party anthem also wouldn’t be out of place on a playlist with Alice Cooper and some of the other greats. One critic has already called it “a sleazy, horror-tinged blend of rock,” and we tend to agree.

“Blackout is the lead song off the new Blak29 album that was inspired by a gothic insta girl,” says Zing. “I chose to do a performance video and added the model Venice Alexa to complement the song.”

“Everybody’s screaming for that gothic little demon. Ya ever watch the hot goth chicks dancing around at a show or club? You know that they’re deadly, but for some reason, you find them attractive!”

“I love videos of people playing. I love the gear, the energy, and how the images translate to the audio experience that we have when we’re not on our phones or looking at screens. My hope is that others can have the same experience with ‘Blackout.’”

Coming from a background playing with such names as Samhain, Mourning Noise, and even the unholy legion that is Danzig, and named for Zing’s June birthdate and love for playing roulette, the band’s sound is as unique and classic as Las Vegas itself.

Zing handles vocals and drums on this record, and Dan Tracey does bass and guitar. Both wrote and co-produced the album. Zing also recruited Danzig bandmate Johnny Kelly (Type O Negative, Quiet Riot), Tommy Victor (Prong, Ministry), and Jyrki 69 (The 69 Eyes) for guest spots on the record. The sampling of songs on the album range from snarling, rock fury to more contemporary thrashers backed by the power of a storied musical career and a full command of the genre.

Praise for The Waiting:

Samhain and Danzig musician Steve Zing steps out with his passion project Blak29 that features collaborator Daniel Tracey. On the recently released “Bleeding Love,” Zing evokes peak-era Cult, with a gritty, powerful Ian Astbury-esque vocal powering a driving rock track that deserves to be played with volume knob ripped off. Look for Blak29’s The Waiting album arriving March 3. Loudwire

It’s great that everyone now gets to see what I’ve known for a long time. Playing bass in Danzig is just one dimension of Steve. His talents go way beyond that. Hear for yourself and try to tell me otherwise!” – Johnny Kelly

My man Steve Zing and Dan Tracey really knocked it out of the park on “The Waiting.” It was also great to play a little guitar on “Destroyer” and “Long Cool Woman!” – Tommy Victor

The band’s influences run the full spectrum, from punk by way of the Misfits, Damned, and Ramones to ‘80’s goth and prog rock. Described by critics as a dark, groove-based rock ‘n’ roll band, their distinct blend of rock is destined to leave a permanent mark on the genre.

Stay tuned for more this year from Zing supporting this release, as well as some live performances.

About Blak29:

Blak29 is the collaboration of Steve Zing and Daniel Tracey. Formed out of a result of being sick and tired of waiting on others, Zing and Tracey decided to write and record by themselves. This proved to be much easier than past projects where there was too much input from other members, and the two have been creating together under this moniker ever since.

Finnish KAIRA Release New Single + Lyric Video ‘Vanki’ from Upcoming EP

The 2020 established Metal collective KAIRA has released their new single “Vanki” (eng. Prisoner) from their upcoming EP release which will see the light of day later this year.

“Vanki” tells a crushing story of how an alcoholic still has the possibility to choose whether to pick the bottle or start healing. This heavy new single is dedicated to the lead vocalist’s mom who passed away in early 2022.

“I knew right away what kind of mood and feel this song needs and what would be the story behind the lyrics when our guitarist brought this song to the table. “Vanki” represents both sides of beauty in our music: heavyness and lightness. The song is  a strong part of our upcoming EP which has stories all around misery and loss. The presence of these topics can almost be touched with this one.” – Jasse Jatala / Vocals and lyrics

Listen “Vanki” here: https://spoti.fi/3mPxw0k

KAIRA is:
Jasse Jatala – Vocals and lyrics
Markus Räipiö – Bass and backing vocals
Panu Siik – Guitar and backing vocals
Kimmo Brandt – Guitar
Sami Lönnberg – Drums

DEATH DIES Premiere New Single ‘Argento’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on April 25, 2023
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: DEATH DIES. Leave a comment

Italian black metallers DEATH DIES are premiering the new track “Argento” at THIS LOCATION. The song is the first single from their new album “Stregoneria”, due out on June 2nd 2023 via Time To Kill Records.

With their roots firmly planted in the scene that has supported them from the word go, DEATH DIES are ready to branch out and show the rest of the globe exactly what they’re made of.

“Stregoneria” is the sum of the influences and different musical experiences of the band members. The album is often characterized by a combination of black and speed metal riffs, intertwined with melodic openings not far from the typical sounds of the Italian and Greek occult and black metal schools. “Stregoneria” exhibits the band’s majestic-yet-malevolent sound in its most powerful form yet, but raw and robust like never before. A culmination of all the hallmarks of the classic sound of DEATH DIES: thick, pulsing guitar walls and straightforward songwriting driving the point home.

The album also features a new version of the EVOL’s classic “Sorrow of the Witch”, which has been re-recorded and updated with a more refined and bombastic production.

Tracklist:

01. Argento
02. Lame
03. Riflessi di sogni meschini
04. Impero
05. Abiura l’eterno
06. Mystery forest
07. Vento d’erebo
08. Falce e corona
09. Al Shi’ra
10. Sorrow of the witch

Special Guests:
Andy “Bull” Panigada from Bulldozer: lead guitar on “Argento”
Lucho Sanchez from Blizzard Hunter: lead guitar on “Vento d’Erebo”
Simon Fèrètro from Mater A Clivis Imperat: lead guitar on “Mystery Forest”,” Abiura l’Eterno” and “Falce e Corona”
Mr. Yasuzuky from Abigail: Vocals on “Mystery Forest”

The band was born in 1995 from an idea of Demian De Saba and Samael Von Martin respectively drummer and guitarist/founder of the legendary Italian black metal band EVOL. The intention was to revisit the sound of the main band in order to offer something more violent, although combined with prog and folk influences.
In parallel with the activity of EVOL, in 1998 DEATH DIES released a split CD with Satanel entitled “When Death Died” via Maggot Records, and in 1997 a 7″ called “The Art of Domination”.
At the end of 1999 EVOL called it a day, so the musicians decided to focus on the composition of the first full-length album. Initially produced by Northern Darkness Records, “The Sound of Demons” was eventually released via “Black Tears Of Death” in 2002.
The band (which meanwhile had become a trio with the addition of Rex Tenebrae, ex EVOL) began playing live both in Italy and France, supporting acts such as Impaled Nazarene, Behemoth and Prejudice among others. In the years that followed, the band recorded two more albums: “Product of Hate” (in 2003) and “Pseudochristos” (in 2006), for BTOD and for the French label Adipocere. In 2011, with the side-project NEGATRON, the Samael and Demian released the album “Tenebre”, which displayed a more ossianic and atmospheric musical direction.
In 2015 DEATH DIES came back with the album “Legione” where several songs from both their own catalogue and from EVOL‘s discography were duly re-recorded.
In 2022 the band switched to a five-piece line-up and began the recordings of a new full-length album entitled “Stregoneria”.

Line-up:

Demian De Saba – Drums
Samael Von Martin – Guitars and backing vocals
Danjal – Bass
Der Todesking – Rhythm Guitars
Viktor Flamel – Vocals and screams
