Dawnbreed Records is pleased to finally announce the official release in tape format of “Anticosmic Womb” from US death metallers DISCORDANT MEDITATION.
The EP was originally released in digital format last year, while this new official tape edition will be available from April 20th 2023.
“Caustic” is a word that loves to be thrown around in the world of death metal, but very rarely is it taken to the fullest. With a demo that’s as ferocious as it is unyielding to an ungodly extent, DISCORDANT MEDITATION seeks cosmic-level domination with “Anticosmic Womb”.
Unlike many contemporary acts throughout the underground that succumb to the sheer might of their subject of worship, DISCORDANT MEDITATION never once fails to fell its mark and constantly displays a level of power that’s downright overwhelming. Riffs amidst truly maddening atmospheres the likes of which belong in Lovecraftian horror, “Anticosmic Womb” is an offensive upon the mind that is not easily ripped away.
Many dare to bring such terrors before the eyes in such excruciating detail, but very few times have succeeded like what DISCORDANT MEDITATION has done here.

Returning after their breakout 2022 self-titled debut, ENVY OF NONE reveal their new EP, ‘That Was Then, This Is Now, out June 9th via Kscope.
The all-star line up of Alex Lifeson , Andy Curran, Maiah Wynne and Alf Annibalini, continue their exponential growth of their trippy, edgy atmospheric sound that took the world by surprise. The new EP is made up of very adventurous tracks that consist of remixes of ‘Dumkoptf’ and ‘Dog’s Life’. Alongside ‘Lethe River’ and ‘You’ll Be Sorry’ only previously released on the deluxe edition of their debut record.
Following these, the EP culminates with a newly recorded track ‘That Was Then’. The song undulates with progressive dexterity and is a perfect example of the unbound writing ability this incredible band showcase.
All tracks were written, arranged, recorded and produced by Envy of None.
Andy Curran comments:
“Very happy to say that chapter 2 for Envy of None has officially started. We have a brand new song called “ That Was Then, This Is Now” which marks the first new track we’ve recorded since our debut album release almost a year ago.”
He continues:
The new EP has that song sandwiched between some really trippy remixes that we had some serious fun creating. We’re also looking forward to sharing all of these songs in 360 surround sound to take it one step further. Stay tuned for more cool news around the corner for EON…”
‘That Was Then, This Is Now’ remains in canon with the band’s sound of their eponymous debut whilst also pushing the boundaries and is a fantastic prologue to the next chapter of Envy of None’s story as the band have been in the studio creating new music and remixes.
An essential addition to their repertoire.
‘That Was Then, This Is Now’ track listing:
1 – Lethe River 2 – You’ll Be Sorry 3 – Dog’s Life (Remix) 4 – Dumb (Der Dummkopf Remix) 5 – That Was Then
Alongside this vinyl release the band are also a part of this year’s Record Store Day with their new reissue of their self titled album available as a picture disc on April 22nd. Find your local Record Store dealer here and pick up a copy.

“Far”, which combines hardcore, grind, math and post hardcore elements, is the rawest and darkest expression of the band’s sound, which finds its own peculiar identity in this work. The production returns an organic, natural and unedited sound, recalling the band’s live performance.
“Far” talks about distance in all its forms. The album begins with the memory of a loved one undergoing pain therapy, during which emerges the infinite distance that separates two people apparently very close. From this point on, each song represents various manifestations of “distance”: social, cultural, ideological, religious and, sometimes, of the individual himself from its own being.
The epilogue of the album in fact tells the local story of a man who begins to travel, trying to fill the loss of his wife. The journey leads to nothing but to the extreme decision to take his own life: “all that remains, is the dark of a void, full of my miles, but empty of me”.
“Here we are, far, far apart from each other. Universes, blending, touching, nowhere near “ (Check Pulse)
The album was released in November 2022 by Controcanti Produzioni, Mothership Records, Fresh Outbreak Records, ItawakRecords, Tomb Tree Tapes and Flames Don’t Judge Prod.
After the great success that our single/video clip “The Serpent Lord” had (you can check it out here), THE SILENT RAGE are more delighted to share with you all their newest audio single for “Exhaling Fear”. You can listen to it here.
“This is one of the two songs that I haven’t participated in at all, nor by composing a part in the music or even writing any of the lyrics. It’s a total effort by Michalis Rinakakis and Nikos Sarbanis. But all I can say is, it’s a pure metal anthem and that’s why we picked it as a second single for this album. I must admit that it reveals the songwriting skills of Nikos, which brings to the music of The Silent Rage, a new aspect for the future albums. He’s more into the American metal scene and it makes sense I must say. To me the song both in music as well as in the vocal lines reminds me of the best moments of Nevermore and Sanctuary, especially with the first ones that I really miss being around delivering brilliant albums. I am pretty sure that it will be one of the songs that will definitely be picked up by many fans and listeners as their favorite moment in the album. At least it’s one of mine!” says Nikos Siglidis.
“I am not into writing lyrics at all, but I try to imagine some song titles in order to help the person who will write the lyrics. After I made this title, Michalis made some awesome lyrics. Because of the instability and insecurity in the society we live, you can see this way of “Exhaling Fear” in the faces of people. There is a way of concern and fear for the next day, and somehow I tried to express it in a song title and in melodies as well. This way of expression happened effortlessly as I had the concept in my mind. Furthermore, the most important part is that the result of this song, along with Michalis Rinakakis’ lyrics, suited perfectly with the artistic style of the band”, Nikos Sarbanis comments.
“As soon as I heard Nikos Sarbanis’ music and saw the title, I knew what the lyrics had to be about! Even though we never really discussed the meaning of the title with Nikos Sarbanis, we ended up thinking about the same thing. The uncertainties, the insecurities, the instabilities that can drive people mad, angry, their personal terrors burning inside, leading them to doing or saying things they’ll probably regret, while all they are actually doing is simply “Exhaling Fear””, Michalis Rinakakis comments.
Along with the announcement for the new single, we are more than excited to announce that we are going to be the opening act band for the upcoming Kamelot show in Athens, Greece on Sunday 7thof May, 2023. See you all at Fuzz Club. You can also check the official event here for further details.
