Metal Blade has reissued two classic albums from progressive metal act FATES WARNING.
Disconnected, which was originally released in 2000 and FWX, which was originally released in 2004, have both been remastered for these reissues by Alan Douches and contain additional bonus tracks. Each album is available on CD, digitally, on all streaming platforms, and as a double LP in different variants, which can be seen and ordered here.

About the band (Wiki): A pioneer of the progressive metal movement, Fates Warning has been referred to as one of the “Big Three” of the genre, creating and popularizing the style along with Queensrÿche and Dream Theater. Their early work, influenced by the new wave of British heavy metal, is also important in the development of American power metal. Fates Warning has released thirteen studio albums, two live albums, one compilation album, one VHS cassette, three DVDs (each featuring live concerts) and four demo tapes. The band experienced its first commercial success with the 1986 release of their third studio album, Awaken the Guardian, which peaked at No. 191 on the Billboard 200 and became the first album released on Metal Blade to enter that chart. Their next three albums-No Exit (1988), Perfect Symmetry (1989) and Parallels (1991)-were also successful; the first two peaked at No. 111 and No. 141 on the Billboard 200, respectively. By 2001, Fates Warning had sold over a million albums worldwide. Their latest studio album, Long Day Good Night, was released on November 6, 2020 by Metal Blade Records.
Boasting more hooks than a tackle box, “Lights On” launches with a crunchy spring in its step, with deep grooves airy guitars and PHIL JAMIESON’s creamy vocals ever present throughout the tune. Jackson McRae steps in to bust out the driving beats on “Lights On”, along with Phil and co-producer Oscar Dawson, aka guitarist for Aussie indie rockers Holy Holy, delivering a dreamy and jangly delight that went through multiple variations before its final end result.
The single also may or may not be inspired by bank heists and memories, as Phil elaborates, “it’s been a journey for “Lights On”, going through many iterations and arrangements and what not. It’s a fun song to move your shoulders and hips to. The track might be about a bank heist? At its core, it’s about always keeping your heart in place for the person that you love. But its also about memories that might have betrayed you in some ways, and maybe about stealing money and maybe about hiding it. Maybe its about a bank heist, Oceans 13, Oceans 8, and it could be about saying: no matter what, I’m gonna kind of hand in there, I’m gonna be there, so sentimental!‘
Jamieson’s live performance talents have continued to diversify and develop as he has explored new stages and formats in his post-band career. He made the transition from live music venues to the boards of theatres around the country in 2017, cast as St. Jimmy in the Australian stage production of American Idiot. The Broadway musical had an impactful Australian season, and a performance that earned Jamiesonwide acclaim: “PhilJamieson carried the role, and absolutely nailed it… whenever he is onstage, it’s difficult to focus on anything else.” – Syn Media.
As well as working on his musical career in recent years, Jamieson has been involved in several philanthropic and industry-specific initiatives. In 2013, he co-founded the Rock N Ride Tour for the national Youth and Mental Health Foundation, Headspace, bringing awareness to mental health issues faced by young people across a five-day motorcycle road trip. Additionally, Jamiesonhas donated profits from his solo touring to national initiative, Support Act, who continue to assist those in need in the music industry. Since 2015, Jamieson has also been an industry judge for the Australian Music Prize, arguably the most prestigious award in Australian music.

This one was a blast to record, as Joe was kind enough to bring some amazing vintage guitars and amps, including a 1959 Gibson Les Paul and a Dumble Amp, both of which can be heard on this track. LORD OF THE LOST have revealed a new official music video for the track “Reset The Preset”, cut from their #1 charting latest album, Blood & Glitter! After representing Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest in May, the band is more successful than ever: the last shows of their second support tour for Iron Maiden are closing in, and the band’s busy live schedule also includes great slots at the main European summer festivals, including Wacken in August and Rockharz Open Air this weekend, while headline shows and their very own LORDFEST festival are selling out fast.
LORD OF THE LOST on “Reset The Preset”: “In line with the song title ‘Reset The Preset’, we did everything the way we NEVER do it for this video. We put every creative decision of the music video – whether it was clothing, lighting, colors, content, whatever… – into other hands. Namely, into the hands of our tour photographer and cameraman Lennard Schmitt, who has an incredible knack for visually absurd art. So, with Lennard as director, we set every LOTL preset to reset and let ourselves be surprised with this video from start to finish. The result is definitely the most shrill and weirdest piece of visual art we’ve ever released.”
On the band’s eighth album, LORD OF THE LOST enter a new era of exciting 70s glam rock visuals, and add a blend of 80s new wave and pop influences as well as gothic and electronic elements to their own, relevant modern metal style, impressing both fans and critics.

Berlin-based indietronic duo BROMSEN has signed a deal with Epictronic Records for the release of their highly anticipated debut album, “Brothers in Mind”. The album is scheduled to be available later this year.
The collaboration covers further exploitation of their already released singles “Merryman”, The Photograph” and “We!”.
Bromsen, formed in Berlin, Germany, consists of Richard and Karlo Bromsen, who have known each other for more than 20 years. In the mid-2000s, they performed together with their previous band, “The Pampelmuse,” at numerous indie rock clubs in Berlin. However, the band disbanded in 2006, just before what was expected to be their breakthrough. Many years passed before Karlo and Richard decided it was time to reignite their passion for music and pursue their dreams once again.
Bromsen has made a triumphant return to the music scene, showcasing their unique blend of synth-wave elements and guitars. Their distinctive sound combines a punchy wall of sound with raw and soaring vocals that compel listeners to groove along and sing along. Their first three singles have received critical acclaim from the indie press, and they have garnered airplay on indie radio stations across North America, the UK, France, Brazil, and other regions.
Bromsen’s songs often delve into their sources of inspiration. Their latest anthem, “We!”, celebrates the profound power of friendship. However, their upcoming fourth single, “Read About It,” pays homage to the artists who have greatly influenced Bromsen but have tragically departed, leaving behind a legacy that can only be read about.
Karlo expresses, “Our first three songs took listeners on a synth-wave journey, emotionally. However, the upcoming single will transport you from the synth-wave realm to an island retreat. It invites you to spend some time there, gazing at the vast and open sea, providing an opportunity for reflection.”
Bromsen produces all of their songs in their dedicated studio, which they call “Bromsen-forge”
Richard explains, “Karlo brings the raw diamonds to me in our Bromsen Forge, and together, we ignite the creative fires to craft genuine musical gems.” Richard contributes by playing synthesizers and guitars, while Karlo takes charge of the vocals, weaving their artistic vision into reality.
