Following their inception in 1989, between 1996 and 2011 they dropped eight of the most blistering albums the genre has spewed up, the quartet parting ways in 2013. However, the band’s retirement turned out to be short lived, returning to stages in 2019 to celebrate the band’s 30th anniversary, and now they drop their first new full-length in twelve years, the monstrous All Heads Are Gonna Roll.

You can find the stream and order the album and watch the videos for All Heads Are Gonna Roll at: metalblade.com/vomitory

All Heads Are Gonna Roll is best described as “fast, grinding, D-beat, fist-in-your-face death metal“, it features fresh aspects that are uncommon to VOMITORY records. “One thing in particular we did was to try to build distinct choruses in the songs, which is something we didn’t put too much effort into earlier,” explains drummer Tobias Gustafsson. “We have also spent a lot more time working with the backing vocal arrangements, which we certainly think paid off very well. It brings something new to our sound. We have also tried to write more straightforward riffs, like we did in the early 2000s.“

The instruments for the record were tracked in the band’s rehearsal space, on a mobile studio setup engineered by Mats Lindström, and was self-produced. This allowed them to work at their own pace in the hours that worked for them, rather than having this dictated to them as would be the case if they had rented a studio. “Although we had a lot of flexibility to choose our working hours, it was still crucial to keep the recording schedule as strict as possible, because it was so easy to say ‘let’s do it tomorrow instead’.” For vocals, they went to Leon Music Studios and engineer Rikard Löfgren, which was where they recorded their last three albums. They brought in good friend Christian Fredriksson (Vulkan) to play some guitar solos, but otherwise it is entirely their own work. With vivid horror movie-inspired artwork – with a hint of anti-religion thrown in for good measure – All Heads Are Gonna Roll really is the whole package for death metal fans, and a stunning return to form after so many years between releases.

VOMITORY line-up:
Erik Rundqvist – vocals/bass
Urban Gustafsson – guitar
Peter Östlund – lead guitar
Tobias Gustafsson – drums

MEGAHERZ Reveal Second New Single + Captivating Music Video ‘Engelsgesicht’

Pioneering German industrial metal icons MEGAHERZ have revealed their second new single, “Engelsgesicht” (EN: “Angel face”)! MEGAHERZ’s highly anticipated upcoming album, In Teufels Namen (eng. “In the Devil’s Name”), is set for release on August 11, 2023 via Napalm Records. These co-founders of Neue Deutsche Härte are one of the most influential German industrial metal bands – boasting millions of views on YouTube and a #7 peak charting position garnered by their 2018 release, Komet (Official German Album Charts).

With emotional “Engelsgesicht” (EN: “Angel face”), MEGAHERZ continue the legacy of one of their greatest hits “Miststück” (EN: “Bitch”), that has been streamed over 2.5 million times on Spotify. The single comes with a metaphorical, mesmerizing music video.

MEGAHERZ on “Engelsgesicht”:
“The dame who eternally beckons and attracts and drives us up the wall again and again – even in 2023 we still fall in love with your pretty face, you devil in angel’s clothing.”

MEGAHERZ’s new album begins strongly with the epic title track “In Teufels Namen” (EN: “In the Devil’s Name”), detailing their critique on the church as an institution. On “Der König Der Dummen” (EN: “The King Of The Fools”), one of the heaviest songs on the record, the quintet doesn’t mince words once again, commenting on conspiracy theorists in their tinfoil hats. The hypnotizing track “Amnesie” (EN: “Amnesia”) is heavily built on electronic-inspired beats and melodies, while chanting anthem of the free spirited, “Freigeist”, features catchy synths and a sing-along chorus. On tracks like “Rabenherz” (EN: “Raven Heart”) the band show an emotional facet. “Menschenhasser” is a powerful, fast Neue Deutsche Härte track that eases into the breather “Ich Hasse (Epilog)” (EN: “I Hate (Epilogue)”), featuring emotional keys, before the empowering “Auf dem Weg zur Sonne” (EN: “On My Way To The Sun”) showcases their vulnerable side before closing the album. Overall, In Teufels Namen is an energetic ride providing the listener with pure industrial metal at its best!

MEGAHERZ on their new album:
“We are happy to finally release our new album, In Teufels Namen, and it hits with full force! In Teufels Namen is an album steeped in dark themes and strong emotions. We went deep into the abyss of human nature and the result is songs that powerfully and uncompromisingly unleash an energy that will sweep you away.”

HEAVY WATER Announce Sophomore Album “Dreams of Yesterday”, Reveal Single/Video for Title Track

Posted by tarjavirmakari on July 5, 2023
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: HEAVY WATER. Leave a comment

HEAVY WATER, the lockdown project created by Saxon frontman Biff Byford and son Seb Byford, will release their latest groove-saturated, riff-mighty, hip-shaking collection of timeless rock ‘n’ roll titled Dreams of Yesterday on September 29th via Silver Lining Music.

Kicking things off is the swagger and thrust of the steamy, psychedelic-tinged single and title track ‘Dreams of Yesterday’, swirling less around the North of England than a patchouli-scented Los Angelian summer’s night, a proper rock ‘n’ roll strutter.

“We went back to a time of a great musical revolution to get inspiration for this track… 1965 West Coast America, a melting pot of Music” explain Seb and Biff.

Not only does Dreams of Yesterday enjoy the tighter, sharper cohesion of being a second project, the bloodline flows freely in its creative arc, with Biff revelling in the role of collaborator with his son and Seb clearly enjoying himself. Pulling the experience, influence and craft of Biff and fusing it with some fresh twists invoking the likes of Led Zeppelin, Soundgarden, and Alice In Chains, Seb takes to both the guitar and producer’s chair with an effusive energy that crackles from every cut. Whether it’s the bombastic, bodaciously thick melodic swamp-stomp of ‘Shadows of Life’, the spiky, punk-dipped guitar-driven ‘Another Day’, or the high-energy indie-tinged rock swirl of ‘Be My Saviour’, Dreams of Yesterday literally keeps you on your toes (air guitar in hand).

Seb Byford recorded Dreams of Yesterday at the Big Silver Barn in York, UK, with Jacky Lehmann mixing alongside Jamie Scarratt. Dreams of Yesterday is produced by Seb and Biff, with Biff taking up bass duties once more and sharing vocal duties with Seb, who throws down the big verses and plays the guitars with an effusive energy that crackles from every cut. At the same time, Tom Witts’s assured drumming provides the perfect platform for what is, essentially, a genre-less celebration of exciting, engaging yet wholly egoless music. So rejoice and bathe in this Heavy Water immediately because Dreams of Yesterday never sounded more alive, fresh, and present.

Dreams of Yesterday will be released on September 29th 2023, via Silver Lining Music. Available as a CD Digipak, digital formats and D2C bundles. For pre-orders, go to this location.

TRACK‐LISTING:

RONNIE ROMERO has announced the upcoming release of his third solo album, TOO MANY LIES, TOO MANY MASTERS, on September 15, 2023. The first single and video from the album, “Castaway on the Moon,” are out today.

Pre-order/save TOO MANY LIES, TOO MANY MASTERS here: https://orcd.co/masters

Watch below the official video for “Castaway on the Moon”.

TOO MANY LIES, TOO MANY MASTERS sees Romero delivering a powerful musical statement on the first solo album of his to feature all-new original material.

Written by Romero with drummer Andy C. and guitarist Jose Rubio, TOO MANY LIES, TOO MANY MASTERS marks the first time that Romero has been involved with 100% of the songwriting on an album he sings on. Romero also co-produced the album with Andy C., marking another first for Romero. While these ‘firsts” certainly add to the excitement for the album, it is the songs that truly take center stage. Romero’s voice is completely at home on this diverse, hard rockin’ set which is certainly going to please any fan of his vocal style and his work with his other bands.

Romero’s voice and prolific musical activity have brought him to the forefront of the hard rock/metal scene where he can be seen/heard with Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, The Michael Schenker Group, Lords of Black, The Ferrymen, Sunstorm, and the recently launched Elegant Weapons with Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner. With an impressive discography already under his belt, TOO MANY LIES, TOO MANY MASTERS is arguably the crown jewel of Romero’s recorded output thus far.

TOO MANY LIES, TOO MANY MASTERS follows Romero’s first two solo albums, both covers albums. 2023’s RAISED ON HEAVY RADIO saw Romero paying tribute to legendary artists from the metal world like Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Accept, Metallica, and more. It also featured special guests like Gus G. (Firewind, Ozzy Osbourne), Chris Caffery (Savatage, Spirits of Fire), Roland Grapow (Masterplan, Helloween), and more. Romero’s first solo album, RAISED ON RADIO, featured covers of classics that meant something special to Romero over the years and helped forge this talented singer’s musical style. Songs by legendary acts like Survivor, Bad Company, Foreigner, Queen, Led Zeppelin, and more were given Romero’s talented vocal treatment.

Here’s the track listing for TOO MANY LIES, TOO MANY MASTERS:

  1. Castaway on the Moon
  2. Mountain of Light
  3. I’ve Been Losing You
  4. Too Many Lies, Too Many Masters
