Following the release of their much-acclaimed, latest album “Call Of The Sirens” (released in May via Massacre Records), German epic metal trio CRAVING has premiered a new music video for the colossal album opening track “Mich packt die Wut”!

CRAVING singer and guitarist Ivan Chertov reveals:

“This composition pertains to uncontrolled anger. During my childhood in Russia in the post-Soviet era, I encountered various challenges. These struggles, coupled with my difficulty in managing my emotions, particularly anger, added to my distress. With time, I discovered that my experience resonated with men suffering from borderline disorder, who often experience severe and recurrent outbursts of rage throughout their lives.

The lyrics of Mich Packt die Wut (Engl:”I am seized with rage”) describe these moments of intense anger.
The line
“Lass mich in Ruh, bis ich mich besser
Mich packt die Wut – meine Seele wird zum Messer”

“Leave me alone until I feel better/I am seized with rage – my soul becomes a knife” suggests the protagonist may become violent and act out in a blind rage if provoked.”

“Call Of The Sirens” is available as vinyl, CD and digital formats, you can order your album copy HERE!

Building upon the staggering success of their previous album, “By the Storm”, CRAVING continues to awe audiences with their unique fusion of melodic black metal, melodic death metal, and traditional heavy metal epicness on stages of all sizes. This time, the album contains eight catchy to-the-point core songs and two bonus cover songs on the CD version: “Shum” by the Ukranian electro-folk band Go_A and “El Diablo” by Greek singer Elena Tsagrinou. The lyrics on “Call Of The Sirens” feature four different languages: German, English, Russian and Ukrainian. Along several high class guest musicians, the album also welcomes Cradle Of Filth guitarist Marek “Ashok” Šmerda with a solo on the “Gods Don’t Negotiate” track.

Events in the band’s lives, the world, and in our society, which is more and more striving towards psychopathy, have inspired the band to write “Call Of The Sirens”. The album is metaphorically following the irresistible voices of the sirens, the mythical creatures mentioned in Greek and many other mythologies, which lured people in by seductive behavior and ultimately killed them.

“Call Of The Sirens” was produced by CRAVING and once again mixed by Christoph Brandes at the Iguana Studios (Necrophagist, Finsterforst, The Spirit, Imperium Dekadenz etc.). As always, the cover artwork was created by the band’s long-term friend and designer Andrej Bartulović / All Things Rotten.

Finnish Industrial Metal band Pentatonik is back with a new name and line-up and it’s now called ALFA PENTATONIK. Today the band released the first single Korjattu totuus (Fixed Truth) from the upcoming new EP “Gamma 1” which will be released later in 2023 via Inverse Records.

LISTEN to Korjattu totuus single on streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/alfa-pentatonik-kt

The band tells about the track:

“Our first new song (Pelkojemme Perintö) was almost like a tribute to older Pentatonik and now it’s time to kick up a gear and show more metallic style. ”Korjattu totuus” tells about propaganda and people who have unlimited power.”

Pentatonik is a Finnish industrial metal band that was formed in the beginning 2000 and it is now coming back with full force. The band has been on a break since 2006, when their last EP “Hellä” was released and band member separated their ways.

Pentatonik did a comeback in 2007, but life got on the way again and the only release was “Pohjakosketus” EP, which was published only on JP Immonen‘s (Walhalla, Iron Frost & Aria of Sorrow) Soundcloud account.

In 2012 Pentatonik got their second album “Lopullinen Ratkaisu” (Final Solution of Mankind) ready. It was started with the original band members before their 2006 breakup and was finished by JP and AP. Album was released as a digital download, and it was used to collect money for the Torture Victims.

2022 was a new start to the band. JP Immonen (only original member and founder of the band) started to go through old files and create new music for the band and to honour the original Pentatonik, named it “Alfa Pentatonik”. Janne Partanen (Hautajaisyö, Marraskuun Lapset & Uhriristi) was found to do vocals and also lyrics.

Alfa Pentatonik is currently making new songs and remaking old ones. As a new beginning the band released “Pelkojemme Perintö” (Legacy of Our Fears) a hard hitting songs that takes inspiration from Rammstein and Ministry. The song tells about evolution and how it has made us who we are.

The Band started working with Inverse Records and their new EP Gamma 1 is set to be released later in 2023.

Line-up:
JP Immonen: Guitars, Bass, Drums, Synths.
Janne Partanen: Vocal
Harri Hytönen: guitar solo

ALBERT BOUCHARD Releases Second Single ‘Transmaniacon’ Feat. The Dictators

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 28, 2023
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: ALBERT BOUCHARD. Leave a comment

Albert Bouchard is best known as a founding member of Blue Öyster Cult, the original lineup sold millions of albums for Columbia Records, with such classic songs as “(Don’t Fear) the Reaper” and the #1 hit on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart “Burning for You.” Bouchard contributed to songwriting and lead vocals on some of its greatest songs, such as “Cites on Flame With Rock and Roll.”

Albert Bouchard is back with Imaginos III – Mutant Reformation, wrapping up the trilogy of Imaginos. Bouchard has shepherded the concept of Imaginos through its many incarnations over the years, translating Sandy Pearlman’s feverish visions into sonic resonance. As Bouchard states, “Sandy’s not being here to feel the long-awaited culmination is perhaps the greatest irony of this epic journey through the invisibility of conspiracy, the shape-shifting, and eternal light that is Desdinova. But legend lives on, as will tales told ‘round the fire of when Man still walked the Earth, and the carnage had yet to begin. Hear the final chapter in this monumental saga when the record is released on July 7, 2023.”

The first single was Bouchard’s take on the Blue Öyster Cult fan favorite “E.T.I.,” featuring brother Joe Bouchard on lead vocal, Isabella Kosal on background vocals, and R.J. Ronquillo on lead guitar.

Now Bouchard releases the second single “Transmaniacon,” featuring the current lineup of the Dictators. Bouchard had this to say, “I wanted to make a version of “Transmaniacon” that had a heavier approach, proto-metal with a punk flavor. The guys in the new Dictators were just the group to deliver that. I know it’s a fan favorite with BÖC fans, but I hope they can appreciate it as much as the original–just like they did for ‘E.T.I.’ ”

The album is available now for preorder and features guests “Ross the Boss” Friedman and Andy Shernoff (Dictators); Joe Cerisano (Silver Condor, TSO); Kenny Aaronson (Billy Idol, Bob Dylan); and Kasim Sulton (Utopia, Meat Loaf). It reunites original Blue Öyster Cult members Eric Bloom and Joe Bouchard, as well as current BÖC member Richie Castellano, who all contribute to this latest installment. The album also features reworks of classics like “E.T.I.,” “Godzilla,” and “Sole Survivor.” There will be limited- edition bundles, including a very limited colored-vinyl option (only 250 copies).

SHERINIAN/PHILLIPS is the musical alliance of Derek Sherinian and Simon Phillips, whose parallel reputations in virtuosic sonic inventions combine on the backdrop of instrumental genre fusion. Though the two had written and recorded together in the past, commitments to other projects had kept them busy in their own circles for a time. Upon their reunion for the recording of 2020’s The Phoenix, the duo has been going strong with consistent new releases ever since. Now, they are pleased to announce the release of SHERINIAN/PHILLIPS LIVE, which exhibits the pair uniting once again for a collaborative effort, documenting a special concert recorded at The Grape in Ventura, California on August 29th, 2022. The set is due out on August 25th, 2023 on InsideOutMusic.

Joining Sherinian/Phillips are fellow creatives Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal on guitar and Ric Fierabracci on bass to round out the lineup of the evening. Several tracks from the latest studio album offering, Vortex, made their way into the set, such as the title track “Vortex”, “Seven Seas”, and “Aurora Australis” (the original recording of which featured Bumblefoot), alongside other instrumentals.

You can check out the performance of “Aurora Australis” now here: https://DerekSherinian.lnk.to/SherinianPhillips-Live

SHERINIAN/PHILLIPS LIVE has every note – planned or jammed – captured like lightning in a bottle, taking listeners to the moment these sounds sparked from their instruments. The live performance sits naturally in a rock context, while reminiscent of jazz fusion concert structures, with room for each musician to stand out in a solo space, each carrying and trading unique melodies along the way.

Derek Sherinian: “After 20 years of making albums together, it was a great pleasure bringing this music to life with Simon for the first time.”

The album will be available in the following formats: Black Vinyl | Ltd. CD Digipak | CD Jewelcase (North America) Pre-Order is available via this LINK

Simon Phillips (drums)
Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal (guitar)

Sherinian’s background as a composer and keyboardist extends well beyond his familiar Dream Theater run, with a notable solo career creating a landscape for contributions from an array of acclaimed musicians, alongside performance credits with the likes of Alice Cooper, Black Country Communion, Billy Idol, Whitesnake, Kiss, Black Label Society, and Sons of Apollo (doubling on production credits), among others.

Phillips has equally rooted himself as a well-respected drummer and composer in the rock, metal, and jazz worlds, with credits ranging from Toto, Judas Priest, Jeff Beck, The Who, Whitesnake, and Joe Satriani, to a discography in jazz fusion with Protocol, movie soundtracks, and beyond.

The diverse range of this pair’s individual talents collectively emerges through each work they craft together; Sherinian and Phillips continue to evolve their joint musical endeavors in new directions.

CRYPTA Reveal Second New Single + Official Music Video ‘Trial of Traitors’

Brazilian death metal band CRYPTA have revealed another furious new single, entitled “Trial of Traitors”! After smashing in with the relentless “Lord of Ruins”, the first single to debut from the outfit’s sophomore album, Shades of Sorrow (out August 4, 2023 via Napalm Records), “Trial of Traitors” serves as the second harbinger off of the new record, breaking in with merciless, impressive guitar work and inciting an uncontrollable storm of pure rage that screams for more! Furthermore, its creative and devilishly brutal official music video supports the track perfectly.

In 2021, CRYPTA stormed to the top with their acclaimed debut full-length, Echoes of the Soul, landing at #55 on the Official German Album Charts and debuting at #15 on both the US Hard Music Albums and Top New Artist Albums Charts. Now, both fans and critics alike eagerly anticipate the release of the band’s new offering, teased by the bone-shaking “Trial of Traitors” today.

CRYPTA on “Trial of Traitors”:
“We decided to have ‘Trial of Traitors’ as one of the singles because, although it’s the fastest, most aggressive song on album, it still has a lot of our already characteristic melodic work here and there, so we thought this blend of these two extremes would be a good sneak-peak into what people can expect overall from the album!”

Formed in 2019 by former NERVOSA members Luana Dametto (drums) and Fernanda Lira (vocals), and now featuring guitarists Tainá Bergamaschi and Jessica di Falchi, CRYPTA once again stay true to the unique sound introduced on their first full-length, blending classic and modern death metal with significant extreme and black metal elements on Shades of Sorrow.

Fernanda Lira (bass, vocals) on Shades of Sorrow:
“Shades of Sorrow is a semi-concept album which describes a journey through the depths of our psyche when facing tough battles. It’s a trip to the many shades of pain we sometimes have to face while enduring our lives’ challenges. The songs are the perfect gloomy, dark, emotional soundtrack for this journey.”

Pre-order the hard-hitting Shades of Sorrow NOW

As a raging monster on its own, Shades of Sorrow begins with the instrumental piano intro track “The Aftermath”, creating an ominous atmosphere before “Dark Clouds” kicks straight off with feral growls to drop jaws, showcasing the full extent of the band’s striking interplay from the very first second. “Poisonous Apathy” features electrifying guitar sounds and prominent hard-hitting bass, creeping into the listener’s brain. Ruthless “The Outsider” unleashes a massive drum attack and another ferocity of coals, before it fades into a softer outro that melts seamlessly into the intro of “Stronghold”, one of the slower and more melodic tracks on the album. Outstanding death metal drumming on “The Other Side of Anger” sets the scene for threatening vocals, evoking an uncontrollable storm, followed by the dark and deep instrumental piano interlude “The Limbo”. Following the eerie, haunting “Lullaby for the Forsaken” comes “Agents of Chaos”, showcasing the undeniable talent of the band with its many changes. Relentless death metal tracks “Lift the Blindfold” and “Lord of Ruins” offer the last dose of true CRYPTA sound, leaving the listener breathless before the beautiful instrumental outro “The Closure” wraps the album up.

It is clear that the talented women of CRYPTA have created another impressive masterpiece with Shades of Sorrow, presenting the very best of their technical ability and songwriting skills on this 13-track onslaught. Shades of Sorrow was recorded at Family Mob Studio, mixed by Daniel Bergstrand at 33 Stockholm, Sweden and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studio.
