Legendary Norwegian rockers SEIGMEN are releasing new music for the first time since 2016!

“Berlin” is the first track from the band’s upcoming album, which was created during the times of the pandemic and lockdown. Those who follow Seigmen know that it has been some challenging years for the band, but it has also been an incredibly creative period.

We’ll get to hear the result when the album “Resonans” is released on April 12, 2024, but already on November 15th, the first teaser, in the form of the single “Berlin”, will be released through Indie Recordings.

Listen to the single here: https://orcd.co/seigmenberlinps

Seigmen stated:
“When we last left the stage on December 21, 2019, we knew nothing about the long and challenging times ahead of us. That this show would be our last for four years.
It feels good to put this behind us and at the same time be able to tell that those times were also creative and productive years. More than anything, we want to thank our loyal fans who have followed us through thick and thin, who have patiently waited for us to return. It gives us both strength and inspiration.
New music from Seigmen is not an everyday occurrence; our last release, “Enola,” came out eight years ago, and this was the first studio album since 1997. Hence, it is a joy to announce that we are now putting the finishing touches on a new album called “Resonans,” that will release April 12th 2024 (Indie Recordings).

The impatient can look forward to the first single, which is already being released on November 15th.
We are also looking forward to get back on stage again and can already announce that we will be playing at Tons of Rock 2024.
Finally, we are also ready to do the show at Støperiet in Tønsberg, which has been postponed several times. This will be the first and only show of the year, and the date is December 16th”

ABOUT SEIGMEN:
It was an unfinished band that took to the stage when Seigmen (formerly known as Klisne Seigmenn) played their very first show during Christmas of 1989. However, even then, they had something unique that set them apart from the others, and their sound was undeniably different from all those they shared stage with. Even the conservative paper Tønsbergs Blad reported the next day that “Klisne Seigmenn outperformed the others.”

Fast forward to 1994, the year they released the EP “Hjernen er alene” and their third studio album “Total.”

From there on, Seigmen and their heavy and grandiose, yet catchy melancholy, defined the 1990s.
“Total” was later recognized as one of Norway’s 100 best albums of all time, and their fourth album “Metropolis” dominated the charts back in 1995 won a Spellemann award for Best Rock Album.
In 1997, “Radiowaves” went straight to number one.

Then it all came to an end, as out of nothing, the announcement came that the band was disbanding because guitarist Sverre was leaving. One for all and all for one. A few months before the previous millennium came to an end, Seigmen played their farewell show for a packed Rockefeller in Oslo, Norway.

But it wasn’t meant to end there; it’s almost unnatural to just let go of a good thing and old friendships forever. In 2005, the band reunited on stage for the first time in Dødens Dal in Trondheim, and in 2008, they were the first Norwegian band to be invited to play at the new opera house in Bjørvika.
However, the biggest event of the new millennium came in 2015 when Seigmen surprisingly released “Enola,” a full 18 years after “Radiowaves.”
On April 12, 2024, almost exactly 30 years after their breakthrough with “Total,” a special event is set to occur when Seigmen releases “Resonans,” their first album in nine years.

The choice of Velvet Recording as their studio is not a coincidence; it’s the same place “Total” was recorded back in 1994.

PETROLBREATH is a three-piece rock ’n’ roll machine from Finland and band has reached its current form in 2019 with members Joni Tammenpää(bass/voc), Ville Panhelainen(guitars) and Lassi Huotari(drums). Influenced by such bands as Motörhead, Clutch, The Hives and the like, Petrolbreath delivers a bare bones and honest interpretation of gasoline drenched rock ‘n roll. Band has being active in the gig front since 2019 and released its debut single Lucifer’s Wings on 2021.

Now Petrolbreath is joining forces with Inverse Records and released a single “You’re With The Band” from their upcoming EP.

“You’re With The Band is a fast-paced, energetic and cheerful song about the interaction between a rock band and the crowd. It also preaches about the healing power and camaraderie of rock ‘n’ roll with a pedal to the metal attitude, keeping its electrifying momentum from start to finish. The song starts with an atmospheric guitar riff and with the rest of the band joining in the song explodes into a motorheadesque verse that sets the pace for the entirety of the song! Rock on!!”

VARATHRON Premiere Music Video for New Track ‘Crypts In The Mist’

Greek black metal masters VARATHRON unveil music video for “Crypts In The Mist”, taken from their anticipated studio album “The Crimson Temple”, due out December 1st on Agonia Records.

Watch the video below.

With a sound characterized by epic atmospheres, progressive immersion and an old-school diehardness, “The Crimson Temple” marks the seventh installment from Greek trailblazers VARATHRON, known to be amongst the pioneers of the Hellenic Black Metal genre. The band’s iconic vocalist Stefan Necroabyssious, who’s been at VARATHRON‘s helm for the last 35 years, and whose “lust for unholy creations” has only ever gotten bigger and better, reflects, that “The Crimson Temple” has seen the band commit its unyielding devotion and uncompromising passion to every fine detail; from the album’s meticulous production, mixing and mastering at Achilleas Kalantzis‘s Suncord Audiolab, to its rich visual side, designed and painted by Paolo Girardi.

“The album consists of 10 tracks in an epic, 46 minute ride into the depths of our deranged vision,” comments band’s leader Stefan. “As always, we shall never forget to express our eternal gratitude for your overwhelming support all these years. We are most eager to share everything with you!”

The opus arrives five years after “Patriarchs Of Evil”; a refreshing effort, which took many of the 2018’s best-of hard rock & metal lists by storm, set the anticipation for “The Crimson Temple”, and found VARATHRON‘s creative potential and musical zest on par with 1988 – the year it had all began. The band’s line-up remains unchanged with Stefan Necroabyssious on vocals, Achilleas C on guitars & keyboards, Sotiris on guitars, Stratos on bass and Haris on drums.

HELFRÓ Release New Single ‘Traðkandi Blómin í eigin Hjartagarði’

Icelandic black metal ensemble HELFRÓ are back with Tálgröf, an album that’s inspired by the dark manifestations of the human mind. The sickness of humankind is explored through intense rhythmic passages, fusing the extremities of traditional death metal together with sombre, introspective lyrical convictions.

The album’s third single, ‘Traðkandi Blómin í eigin Hjartagarði’ (meaning: “Trampling the Flowers in Your Own Heart’s Garden”), absolutely crushes with destructive blast beats, chugging death metal riffs and tremolo-picked melodies. It’s another Tálgröf track that explores the facets of humanity’s worst killers. The numbing of one’s emotions is placed at the forefront in its chilling lyricism.

“We explore the idea of consciously numbing yourself of any positive emotion in preparation of committing acts that go against the fundamental laws of humanism & your own very nature,” says vocalist Ragnar Sverrisson. “The persona is exposing themselves to violence and indifference, poisoning themselves with mind-altering substances while cutting off human contact and sleep depriving themselves.”

The sinister new single is a maelstrom that explodes into a crushing middle section before twisting around a glorious amalgamation of death metal riffing & black metal blasting.

Tálgröf comes out December 1st.

GENUS ORDINIS DEI Reveal ‘For A New God’ Music Video & Single

Ground-breaking symphonic death metal band GENUS ORDINIS DEI (Milan, Italy) just revealed another new music video and single entitled “For A New God”. This is the third video episode and single from the band’s upcoming full-length concept album The Beginning which is scheduled to be released on December 8, 2023 via Eclipse Records. The album was produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Tommaso Monticelli at Sonitus Studio in Crema, Italy. The video series was directed by Genus Ordinis Dei, and filmed by Steve Saints.

“For A New God” is the third episode of The Beginning possibly the greatest expression of tragedy ever recorded in rock music! The verses and choruses are musically addictive, traveling the dark corridors of our souls where candles forever burn black. The Episode is dominated by the startling images of the blood-spattered Brother carrying his dying Sister, who has asked him to end her life and eat her heart to gain the knowledge given to her by The Fallen.

Pre-Save or Pre-Order the album, and follow the video series at https://bio.to/thebeginning

“For this epic fight scene between The Brother and the Strongest Cannibal, we decided to film at Po’s Beach and Gombito’s Beach in Italy.” says guitarist & producer Tommy Monticelli. “Along the marshy beaches The Sister is captured by one of the two Cannibals and The Brother will have to face the strongest cannibal in a fight to the death. This is the most heartbreaking piece of the entire opera. A tribute to the bond between two siblings that, when the broken and destroyed voice of the brother is heard, makes it reverberate like thunder. It was a fantastic experience to film a bare-knuckle fight, simulating all the strength and power of a clash between men who are more like wild beasts than civilized humans. The tremendous scene with the boulder is certainly the highest moment of the episode’s climax. In For A New God you can then see all the skill of our two makeup artists (Valentina & Beatrice) in recreating wounds, cuts and bleeding using their incredible props and SFX.”

The Beginning is the fourth studio album from symphonic death metal band Genus Ordinis Dei, which redefines the way we listen to music and process cinematic theater. In simpler terms, the final product is an exceptional twelve-track album and a stunning set of representative videos called “Episodes,” that directly address the way we use our senses. Interspliced in a clever foreshadowing technique, are images of blood pouring over a stone, advancing like the crooked fingers of some skeletal miscreant, and when the Brother character starts singing, we are startled into the recognition that this is not merely some standard high-quality film, but the vibrant offspring we get from a brilliant, well-produced metal album. Symbolically, the parallel is clear. We are watching exquisite savages at the dawn of existence, who are shockingly similar to us in terms of their passion, physicality, and natural tendencies toward glorified violence. More thematically, Genus Ordinis Dei shows us quite clearly that brutality is the lifeblood of society, as we still so ironically fool ourselves with carefully crafted social constructs. The Beginning is not just music. It is an experience. A red dawn. An awakening.
