Rock and blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter Philip Sayce is excited to announce the release of his new single, “Lady Love Divine,” on November 10, 2023. This track is the second single off his highly anticipated new album, The Wolves are Coming (Atomic Gemini / Forty Below Records), and will be released on Friday, February 23, 2024.

“Lady Love Divine” explores the light in contrast to the darkness on the new album with an uplifting, foot-stomping, funk groove that delivers hooks in all the right places. Philip states, “It’s a funky, upbeat song about that feeling you get when you instantly fall in love with someone forever. Finding the courage to talk to this person and win their love.”

“The song represents a bridge — a connection between despair and hope — that invites broken spirits to be transformed and healed.” The Wolves Are Coming, Philip’s new album, is more powerful, unique, and bold than anything he has written or recorded. “These songs and stories came into focus during my darkest times,” says Philip.

Produced by Philip at Station House Studio in Los Angeles, and engineered by GRAMMY Award-winner Mark Rains (Rival Sons, Shooter Jennings, Tanya Tucker), mixed by Brian Moncarz (Fantastic Negrito, Alice Cooper, Ian Moore), and mastered by Brian Lucey (Lizzo, The Black Keys, Michael Bublé), features drummers Aaron Sterling (John Mayer, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift) and Michael Leasure, (The Moody Blues, Melissa Etheridge), and was co-written with GRAMMY award winner and multi-platinum singer-songwriter Richard Marx, with Philip providing the guitars, bass, and lead vocals.

ABOUT PHILIP SAYCE
Born in Wales and raised in Toronto, Canada, Philip’s love of the guitar started early. As a teen, Philip was plucked from the Toronto blues scene by the legendary Jeff Healey, who took the young guitarist under his wing and showed him the ropes, touring the world and recording as a member of Healey’s band. From 2004 – 2009, Philip toured internationally and recorded with Melissa Etheridge, including performances at The Oscars and The Grammys. He then kick-started his solo career establishing a rabid fan base in Europe and beyond. During this period, Sayce recorded his first solo album, Peace Machine. Buoyed by guitar fans’ response to the album, Philip returned his attention to his full-time solo artist career, and subsequent releases garnered high praise in both the blues, rock, and guitar worlds. To date, he has released six studio albums and the Live EP, Scorched Earth: Volume 1.

NIGHT CROWNED Release New Album “Tales” + Share Video for ‘She Comes At Night’

Following the success of their debut studio album “Impius Viam”, released in February 2020, and their highly acclaimed follow-up record “Hädanfärd”, released in July 2021, Night Crowned has solidified their place as one of Sweden’s best-kept blackened death metal secrets. Comprised of former and current members of renowned acts such as Dark Funeral, Nightrage, and Cipher System, Night Crowned possesses a musical vision that is haunting yet clear and with “Tales” the band has released their third full-length album via Noble Demon today!

This release marks a new chapter for the band as they push the boundaries of blackened death metal to unprecedented levels. With “Tales”, Night Crowned embarks on an auditory assault that defies conventions and redefines the limits of the genre. The album features lyrics in both English and Swedish, allowing listeners to fully immerse themselves in the band’s haunting storytelling. Jonathan Thorpenberg’s mixing skills put the band’s sound on full display, while Jani Stefanovic’s mastering ensures that every note is hit with precision.

“We had our friend Marcus from Marcus Wesslen Media over to make a documentary of our gig in Gothenburg. For this video we went with the song ”She comes at Night”. And in this song we really went full on with the folk influences, but it was really important for us to do so without losing our own identity. To have Therése‘s magical voice in the break just makes the song larger than life,” says the band.

Vocalist Ken Romlin about the song: ’’Before we started to work on ‘Tales’ I wrote down ideas about which entities I wanted to write about. And the Mare was obvious that it needed to get a song, so it became ‘She Comes At Night’. This was one of the first songs we wrote for this record.“

Swedish heavy metal band LION’S SHARE has made a new song, ‘Life on Mars?’, available on streaming services and digital service providers.

LION’S SHARE singer Nils Patrik Johansson commented: “We feel It’s the perfect blend of nostalgia and freshness that hopefully will appeal to fans across generations.”

‘Life on Mars?’ is a song by the English singer-songwriter DAVID BOWIE, first released on his 1971 album Hunky Dory. The lyrics are about a girl who goes to a cinema to escape reality, and include surreal images that reflect optimism and the effects of Hollywood.

In late 2018, LION’S SHARE released a new five-track EP, plus its complete catalog – remastered with new artwork – on streaming services and digital service providers for the first time. The band have since released a few more digital singles, some of which will and some of which won’t end up on the forthcoming full-length album.

Both Johansson and Chriss remark that they have always worked very well together, and at this point it feels the most natural to keep LION’S SHARE as a duo, with friends helping out wherever needed.

Icelandic NYRST Debut Single + Video ‘Völd’ from Upcoming Album

Black Metallers NYRST are a band whose pride in their native Iceland  is obvious in all that they do.  The country’s wild landscape, dotted with immense, still-active volcanoes, permeates NYRST’s music, whose dark melodies and intense vocals create a feeling that nature itself is a force to be reckoned with, and against whose power humanity is helpless.

The very title of the band’s sophomore full-length album “Völd”, which means “force, power or might” carries with it a sense of menace, and is indicative of what to expect from NYRST’s second outing on Dark Essence Records.

Upon the release of the band’s debut full-length album “Orsök” in 2020, it was startlingly clear that NYRST’s lineup of Snæbjörn on vocals,  Eysteinn and Davíð on guitars, Egill on bass, and Sveinbjörn on drums, was possessed of a ferocious musical ability, unusual in a band at such an early stage in its career. 

Intent on creating the coldest, most eerie, and barren of soundscapes possible, and regardless of the positive reviews garnered by their debut, NYRST did not sit still, but rather built on the experience gained in the writing and recording of “Orsök”  to progress the band’s sound still further, as “Völd” will reveal.
