CHROME Release Title Track ‘Blue Exposure’ from Upcoming Album

Following the release of their recent single that featured British prog legend, King Crimson saxophonist Mel Collins, San Francisco sonic pioneers CHROME are releasing another single from their forthcoming album, the stunning title track “Blue Exposure!” Picking up where there highly acclaimed 1980 album Red Exposure left off, the new single captures the manic energy and exploding creativity of Chrome’s ‘80s heyday that saw the band shift toward a more accessible, song-oriented style.

But this is Chrome we’re talking about so “Blue Exposure” doesn’t lack for the weird, highly experimental touches that fans have come to expect. In the driver seat for the single, and its attendant album, is the one and only Helios Creed who has been the guitarist for the band since 1977 and its sole constant member since the passing of founder Damon Edge in 1995. With each new release, Creed cements his status as one of rock music’s singular visionaries, and his angular guitar playing and haunting vocals on “Blue Exposure” show why.

Avantgarde Metal Pioneers VOID Premiere ‘Iniquitous Owl’ Single

Invisible Oranges is hosting an exclusive premiere for VOID‘s new single “Iniquitous Owl“. The song is found on “Jadjow”, the fourth full-length album by these avantgarde metal pioneers. The album will be released on December 7th, 2023 on digital and 6 panel Digipak CD via Brucia Records. Listen to “Iniquitous Owl” at THIS LOCATION.

The first single “Self Isolation” made its public debut through a premiere at No Clean Singing. Stream it HERE.

“Jadjow” was born out of the DHG Void Dancers tour in 2019, when VOID founding member and guitarist Matt Jarman and Camille Giraudeau (Dreams of the Drowned, Doedsmaghird) both played live guitar for Dødheimsgard.

Also present were DHG’s bass player Lars Emil Måløy (If Nothing Is) and their live sound engineer George Geegor Anagnostopoulos. These four musicians decided to collaborate on a project, co-writing what became the fourth VOID album. The drums on the album were eventually performed by Tariq Zulficar (Atramentum), a long time collaborator of Camille‘s, based on Geegor‘s original arrangements.

In typical VOID fashion, the music on “Jadjow” demonstrates a distinct departure from the previous releases, whilst paradoxically remaining quintessentially VOID.
Skillfully mixing the aggressiveness of black metal with progressive music, a post-metal sensibility, noise-like leads and syncopated, hyper-technical drumming, VOID managed to create something entirely unique and atypical, showcasing a voracious appetite for creating rich and complex soundscapes with incredible sense of purpose and direction.
The vocals here are also extremely varied, melodic, at times choir-like, and play a massive role in redefining VOID‘s eccentricity, creating a multi-layered masterpiece of
experimental music that manages to push the boundaries of both aggression and sophistication at the same time.

The dream-like artwork was exclusively created by previous VOID vocalist Laura Katrin Weston.

Tracklist:

01. Fables From a Post-Truth Era (09:52)
02. Interdaementional (07:28)
03. Only For You (08:15)
04. Oduduwa’s Chain (05:50)
05. When Lucifer Dies (06:12)
06. Self Isolation (05:19)

DIMMU BORGIR Release Cover Song of DEEP PURPLE’s ‘Perfect Strangers’

DIMMU BORGIR have released their cover of DEEP PURPLES’s ‘Perfect Strangers’. The song is featured on their upcoming cover album Inspiratio Profanus which will be released on December 8th via Nuclear Blast Records.

Silenoz states about the cover of ‘Perfect Strangers’: “The idea of doing Perfect Strangers came about quite a while before we actually got around to recording it. It’s a known song by a very well known band that has influenced many to pick up an instrument. I mean, is there anyone who doesn’t like Deep Purple?! We incorporated our little twist to it while at the same time wanted to stay close to the original. But perhaps it is the more obvious aspects that come to mind when hearing it; the integration between the main musical elements that we also made use of since the beginning like keyboards and guitars.”

Silenoz comments about the album Inspiratio Profanus: “We’re pleased to announce the Inspiratio Profanus release! We thought it was about time to finally compile the cover songs we’ve done over the years and give these renditions an updated mastering, all in one package, highlighting some of our many influences!”

About DIMMU BORGIR:
As they conjure new, dark compositions, DIMMU BORGIR take a retrospective look back, celebrating the band’s 30th Anniversary and the seminal artists that left a defining imprint on their sound.

Conceived in the heart of the Norwegian black metal scene in 1993, DIMMU BORGIR quickly broke free from the boundaries of the genre, daring to combine a traditional raven black sound with opulent symphonic orchestration. They became pioneers within their own field, forging groundbreaking albums such as Enthrone Darkness Triumphant (1997), Spiritual Black Dimensions (1999), & Death Cult Armageddon (2003), invading the entire world with headline tours and eventually turning into the most influential act of their genre after nine full-length studio releases.

After their last two successful albums Abrahadabra and Eonian and the remixed version of Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia, DIMMU BORGIR herald their 30-year legacy by releasing, together for the first time, a collection of their cover songs. Inspiratio Profanus features a cover of ‘Black Metal’ (VENOM), the genre-defining ‘Perfect Strangers’ (DEEP PURPLE), fan favourite ‘Burn In Hell’ (TWISTED SISTER), and electrifying renditions from the legendary CELTIC FROST, as well as other immensely influential artists!

Psychedelic prog-metallers ENSLAVED are proud to announce a new UK and European headline tour for Spring 2024. This news comes a few days after their final live show of the year at Damnation Festival, following on from a hectic festival season with performances at the likes of Midgardsblot, ArcTanGent, Brutal Assault, Beyond The Gates and Desertfest Antwerp, on-top of a co-headline tour across the USA and Canada earlier this year with Insomnium.

The new 16-date run will take place in March 2024, taking the band across 10 different countries. Support on the road will come from British post-hardcore quartet Svalbard and US metallers Wayfarer.

Enslaved’s latest masterpiece Heimdal came out earlier this year.

Vocalist and bassist Grutle Kjellson commented,
“Friends!
In March it is happening!
The blare of the great horn shall resound once again, and Heimdal will guide you through pain and anxiety and to victory!
In other words; we are going to tour Europe again! Due to events and circumstances beyond everybody’s control, our first European club tour since 2018 as a matter of fact! No less!
Looking forward to see you all again.
Alu Alu Laukar!!
-Grutle”

KORPIKLAANI Release Video for BONEY M Cover ‘Gotta Go Home’

Finnish Folk Metal Superstars KORPIKLAANI return with a very special single today, before heading out on tour through Brazil, Argentina, and Chile. Accompanied by a totally fun video, the Finns proudly present their take on BONEY‘s ‘Gotta Go Home‘ to get you in a party mood during the dark season of the year.

Jonne Järvelä, a fan since his childhood, added:
“When I was a kid there weren’t so many good albums in my parents’ vinyl collection. But I found something I really liked: it was ‘Roadrunner’ by Hurriganes, which I was listening to almost every day since I was still in diapers. CCR and Boney M. were also on my very limited playlist at the time. ‘Gotta Go Home’ was somehow funny. Much more fun than ‘The Rivers Of Babylon’, which I also liked. Then our drummer Samuli came up with it and was very excited about the idea to cover it. I have the same moves in our video which I practised hundreds of times in my childhood days with my tennis racket in front of the mirror.”

The time has come to write history once more. Over a decade after EPICA recorded their milestone “Retrospect”, and 15 years after “The Classical Conspiracy”, EPICA is returning to the stage with a full orchestra and choir once again! Under the title of “The Symphonic Synergy”, the six-piece will play two massive shows alongside an orchestra. One in their home country of the Netherlands and another one in the band’s beloved Mexico.

The first event will take place on September 20th at Amsterdam’s AFAS Live, while Mexico City will get the chance to see the spectacle at one of Latin America’s most iconic venues, the 10.000-seat-capacity-hall Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City on December 7th, 2024.

“Finally, it is happening again!”, comments Coen Janssen. “Epica playing together with a full orchestra and choir! And this time we are even taking the show to Mexico! To be playing these ‘Symphonic Synergy’ shows in these iconic venues is a dream come true and we’ll make both shows an experience you will never forget. You. Don’t. Want. To. Miss. This!!!”

Simone Simons adds: „Playing with an orchestra and choir is an absolute dream! I can’t wait for ‘The Symphonic Synergy’ to come alive and to share this unique experience with the Epicans.”

Tickets will be available through: www.epica.nl
