Italian apocalyptic death metal act VISION DEPRIVED have issued “Mind Eraser Body”, the third single preceding their debut album “Self Elevating, Deep Inside The Void”. The album will be officially released on March 28th 2023 via Slaughterhouse Records.
Recently VISION DEPRIVED premiered the single “I Am” at Toilet Ov Hell. Stream it atTHIS LOCATION.
Born from the twisted mind of Carlo Altobelli, producer and sound engineer at the Toxic Basement Studio (Cripple Bastards, Insanity Alert, Black Oath, Raw Power, Ekpyrosis, …), the band mixes early 90’s American gloomy metal with grim and dystopian imagery all captured at his iconic studio. And if for some reason the music won’t speak enough for itself, then the amazing artwork by Francesca Vecchio will further clarify what music and words won’t.
With plenty of atmosphere to spare, the band’s compositional skills astoundingly span the full reach of old school US death metal, subtly (and tastefully) touching such boundaries as grindcore and death-thrash.
The band was originally founded by drummer Carlo (Greedy Mistress, Moral Values) and bassist Aldo (Cain, Bang Bangalow), who eventually welcomed Elias (End) on guitar and Alberto (Forged In Blood, Ephyra) on vocals.
“Self Elevating, Deep Inside The Void” is its introduction to their musical abyss, 10 songs of claustrophobic and relentless riffs and hopeless lyrics for a 30 minute visceral trail.
Album tracklist:
01. Massacre Of The Truth 02. Deeper 03. Pledge Allegiance 04. Overturning Events 05. Realm Of Void 06. Lifetime Conviction 07. I Am 08. Beyond Myself 09. Mind Eraser Body 10. Randomly Somewhere

MISSION IN BLACK release the first single “What Does It Take To Be Alive” from the upcoming album “Profit Reigns Supreme”! Already this first song shows where the journey of the quintet goes – aggressive growls paired with melodic choruses show more than ever the vocal versatility of frontwoman Steffi Stuber.
Songwriter and guitarist Eddie Stübner: “A song with a consistently positive message. The lyrics are about not letting yourself be guided by your fears. A song that encourages you to believe in yourself, to recognize your strengths and to follow your dreams…”
Completely new tones? Of course there are enough grievances in the world to blame, but the message of MISSION IN BLACK is to never lose hope and to keep fighting. #metalwithmessage
So pre-sale has started, which offers quick fans a strictly limited collector’s box or the album on CD.
MISSION IN BLACK will release the long-awaited second album on May 12th, 2023. Band founders Andy “Black” Flache and Daniel Tschoepe, together with Simon Schorp, vocal wonder Steffi Stuber and the new guitarist Eddie Stübner, have been able to use the time since the highly acclaimed debut album “Anthem Of A Dying Breed” to write 10 brand new songs and sharpen their own contours. So the upcoming album “Profit Reigns Supreme” can be assigned much more to Melodic Death Metal than the predecessor could claim. The result was “a musical bastard from In Flames & Kreator with female vox & growls”, produced by Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann in his “Greenman Studios” in Arnsberg (responsible for the last Orden Ogan albums, Rhapsody of Fire or Brainstorm). No question: Mission in Black have matured and are ready to bring their music out into the world, just like they did at Summer Breeze in 2022!
Tracklist: 01 – Profit Reigns Supreme 02 – What Does It Take To Be Alive 03 – Patron Of The Downfall 04 – Dead Alive 05 – The Darkness Within 06 – Silence Of A Distant Sky 07 – This Curse 08 – Dreamcatcher 09 – Kill Your Idols 10 – A Glimmer Of Hope
Line-up: Andy „Black“ Flache – drums Eddie Stübner – guitars Steffi Stuber – vocals Daniel Tschoepe – guitars Simon Schorp – bass
Five years after “Footprints In The Rock”, NWOBHM unsung heroes TRESPASS are back with a superb new album entitled “Wolf At The Door”. Encompassing issues and subjects close to their hearts – especially environmental themes – the album were written by founding member, guitar player and vocalist Mark Sutcliffe at his home studio, being later recorded at Crooks Hall Studios, all in the wilds of Suffolk. Nigel Palmer (Raging Speedhorn, Satan’s Empire) then polished altogether in Lowland Masters.
This typical British environment helped Trespass maintain their NWOBHM signature twin-guitar sound, while having a drive and energy in the rhythm section that transports them right back into the 20s. The artwork, by Mark Wilkinson (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest) put the final touch in a release that won’t disappoint the old-school fans, as well as new ones.
“Wolf At The Door” will be released on LP (black vinyl, limited to 500), CD and digital formats via From The Vaults on May 26th, 2023. Pre-orders available here.
A new digital single from the album, entitled “Daggers Drawn“, will be released next week.
“Wolf At The Door” tracklist:
1. Blackthorn 2. Daggers Drawn 3. Force Of Nature 4. Other Worlds 5. Ghost Pilot 6. Back To The Woods 7. Crooked Cross 8. Unsinkable 9. Stranger In Paradise 10. Live Like A King 11. Wolf At The Door
Trespass was formed in 1979 in Sudbury, Suffolk by Mark Sutcliffe (guitar, vocals) and his brother Paul on drums. The band enjoyed success and critical acclaim as part of the New wave of British Heavy Metal in the early 80s, although it has only released a few singles and an EP – the cult “Bright Lights”, from 1981. Songs such as “One Of These Days”, “Stormchild” and “Bright Lights” have made their mark.
In the 90s, Trespass was back in full action and in 1993 the band finally released their long-awaited debut album “Head”, helping keep the NWOBHM flame alive in a dark decade for traditional metal. The second album, self-titled, surfaced in 2015, and the group didn’t need another decade for a follow-up, with “Footprints In The Rock” being released three years after, with reactions, confirming that Trespass music is still enjoyed by rock and metal fans all over the world. While preparing the next full-length release, Trespass is currently rehearsing a set of classics old and new, for UK and European shows next year.
Lineup: Mark Sutcliffe – guitar/vocals Joe Fawcett – guitar Jason Roberts – drums Wil Wilmot – bass
THE HIP PRIESTS have released their new single + video ‘Just To Get By’ ahead of the band’s new album “Roden House Blues”, Due May 5Th Via The Sign Records.
The Hip Priests. Zero fucks n’ less success since 2006. The most prolific band you haven’t heard of. High energy sweaty sermons of misanthropy, disillusion (self) loathing and despair. Get ready to have your ears torn clean off.
After 16 years some bands would be taking it easy but in spite of a global pandemic, there was no let-up in The Hip Priests determination and activity. Their fifth, and by far their best full-length album – ‘Roden House Blues’ – was written, rehearsed, and recorded during this period and will be released May 5th, 2023, via The Sign Records.
Rehearsed, recorded and mixed between the numerous U.K lockdowns in Roden House, one of Nottingham’s former lace factories where the Priests have their own space, and which spawned the album title. This is no Mississippi Blues but perhaps it makes more sense than you think: Howling laments, loss, self-reflection and revelation – alongside some recurring Priests lyrical themes: negativity, nihilism, rage and revolution. After 2019’s ‘Stand for Nothing’ the band were unsure whether they’d do another album – However, global lockdown inadvertently led to a renewed passion and realisation that, like Jagger said, ‘’what can a poor boy do’ – especially when feeling more lost in a world that increasingly resembles a dumpster fire. A few dozen demos were scrutinised of which, through a stricter than ever group consensus, 14 were recorded but then honed down, razor sharp, into the tightest collection of 11 low-fat, lean and mean banging tunes that could fit into 30 minutes.
This week we get to feel another white-hot blast straight from the album’s furnace in new single ‘Just To Get By’, which finds the band in rare reflective form.
“Every day can be a struggle and happiness really is an inside job. None of us are perfect. Every day we’re pitted against each other and ourselves by a world that increasingly looks like a dumpster fire that wants to incinerate us. What can we do to just get by?
Perhaps just trying to improve, rise above and be a better person is an act of revenge nowadays. A number one single in an alternate universe with a guitar riff of such hook and beauty it was surely dropped from the Rock heavens.
We don’t JUST do Nihilism, Negativity, Rage and Revolution you know…”
This month also sees The Hip Priests team up with Northern Ireland’s The Dangerfields for an Irish tour. Having known each other for years and toured together back in 2010, when the bands paths crossed again last year, the idea of finally sorting that long talked about Irish tour was set in stone. And so The Hip Priests first time in Ireland kicks off in Derry on Weds 22nd March followed by four other shows all across the country.
Come along for an evening (or in Dublin’s case, afternoon) of face-ripping, ball-crushing, ass-immolating rock ‘n’ roll played by a bunch of doozies far too old to know any better! There will be loud guitars and rock poses, bad words and everything!
‘Roden House Blues’ is released May 5th via The Sign Records and available to pre-order here:

BECKO has announced the release of his ‘90s inspired album PRESENT DAY // PRESENT TIME, releasing on April 21, 2023 is now available for pre-order from FiXT.
PRESENT DAY // PRESENT TIME is chaos refined as the album follows the story of a young man living in a dark futuristic society with the added caveat of having Dissociative Identity Disorder. The entire concept of the song and the album harkens back to late 90’s music and gaming when the internet was first getting traction, and anime like Iain, Evangelion, and Trigun, were exploring very dark and deep concepts.
Musically the album covers the gamut of genres from Alternative Rock, Grunge, and Emo to IDM, Trance, Breakbeat, and Trap. Each release peels back another layer of the dark story as you follow the white rabbit down the dark hole. Featuring contributions from the defiant Hoshikuma Minami of DEATHNYANN, post-hardcore artist Tired Violence, and SubTrailss. PRESENT DAY // PRESENT TIME also features the unique vocals of a digital character known as A.I.KA00 who sings alongside Becko throughout the track. “HYPNOTIZED” (feat. A.I.KA00).
Dropping with the pre-order announcement is “LOSTBOI” an alternative, IDM, Trance fused single. Heavy rhythms oscillate with Becko’s signature screaming vocals for an ominous soundscape in the next chapter of the PRESENT DAY // PRESENT TIME story.
“This song is an EDM 90’s vibe song with a sad lyrics on it,” explains Becko. “The verses are hyper pop-ish metal.”
Releases from the album have already gained traction across multiple platforms with “EAT ME, DRINK ME!” landing on Spotify’s All New Metal and Rock The World, “Reb00t Myself” hitting Spotify’s Alternative Metal, All New Metal, and Misfits 2.0. “Home” landing both Spotify’s Rocktronic playlist and Yandex’s Just Rock It. Becko also created a well received remix of Mice & Men’s “Mosaic” which landed on Spotify’s All New Metal list.
Marco Calanca of post-hardcore band Hopes Die Last, created Becko as a solo project, uniting influences of EDM, Hip-Hop, Industrial, and Emo-Rock. With previous releases under his belt with labels ranging from Warner Italy and Universal Italy, to Monstercat, Lowly Palace, and Smash the House since 2014, Becko found a new home in early 2020, signing a multi-album deal with the independent, artist-owned/operated USA-based electronic-rock label FiXT, founded by genre-pioneering artist & producer Klayton (Celldweller, Circle of Dust).
In 2020, Becko released the full-length album INNER SELF, as a triumphant fusion of trap & metal. In 2021 Becko released a flurry of singles including “Darkest Days” which was produced by Mike Shinoda all on the path leading up to the release of his second full-length trap-metal album with FiXT, You Are (Not) Alone, which dropped in early 2022. Becko introduced his latest 90s-inspired concept album PRESENT DAY // PRESENT TIME releasing on April 21, 2023.
Jimmy Kay from Canada’s The Metal Voice recently spoke to OverKill Singer Bobby ‘Blitz’ Ellsworth about the bands upcoming 20th studio album ‘Scorched’, which will be released April 14, 2023 via Nuclear Blast.
Bobby Blitz said this about the new album,” We used Colin Richardson (producer) again. This is his fourth project with us. He’s a friend. We trust the guy. He did a record for us from soup to nuts called ‘Killbox 13’ (2003).
He then spoke about the musical direction of “Scorched”, saying: “It’s eclectic. It’s diverse. It’s got different dynamics and characteristics. How do you make that in an OVERKILL record? It’s traditional heavy metal. It’s got mellow sections. It’s got groove. It’s got thrash. It’s got rock and roll. It’s got blues. It’s, like, all over the fucking map. But you have to sew those pieces together and then take the whole thing and try to make it — you know, put your brand on it. And I think that that’s what we succeeded in doing. And what’s directly responsible is the amount of time that we had.”
Blitz then was asked to define the new album in a few words he replied, ‘Scorched is where we’ve been and what we are.”
