PARTINICO ROSE Release New Single ‘Rebuild’

‘Rebuild’ is the first single taken from Sicilian rock band PARTINICO ROSE’s sophomore album. The song leads with a gut punch, a solid sound featuring grungy/noisy guitars and bludgeoning bass and drums.

Stream/buy ‘Rebuild’ here: https://orcd.co/partinico-rose-rebuild

Partinico Rose are a Sicilian band from Ragusa, led by Vincenzo Cannizzo with Massimo Russo, Carlo Schembari and features guest appearances from Martina Monaca.

Active since 2015, all 3 members are long time musicians from the city of Ragusa, coming from other projects such as The Stark, Carnival Ends, Enfant Terrible etc… Their music mixes an alternative/darkwave rock sound that harks back to the likes of Killing joke, Bauhaus, Nick Drake, etc.

Partinico Rose’s self-produced debut album titled “Songs for Sad and Angry People” was released on 06 December 2019 and 2023 will see the release of the second album from Partinico Rose, out on Riot Records.

“If Partinico Rose will have the opportunity to enjoy a good production, the future could reveal a new Italian music column to the world. The album is full of great string arrangements and powerful drums, the bass guitar involves the listener into a dark, sad, angry mood as the title refers, the lyrics reflect that sense of lost and the sensation of being reading your favourite horror novel under the leaves of a big tree in a calm forest. It reminds me a lot the post punk from the 80’s, combining the new wave elements from that era, the influence of goth bands such as The Wake, Bauhaus, Killing Joke, and Sisters of Mercy set the elements to create this new and fresh sound. No doubt these guys from Sicilia have delivered a masterpiece, an iconic debut album.” The International Press

VORNA Reveal Second Single + Lyric Video ‘Kallioilla’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on March 1, 2023

Kallioilla is the second single from the forthcoming new VORNA album AAMUNKOI, and now available on all digital platforms.

This song is one of those that almost wrote itself. After a trip to Northern Finland’s wilderness, I sat down by the lake at a summer cottage with a cup of morning coffee and a keyboard. Before sunset, I had the first demo and completely finished lyrics in my hands.

“Kallioilla” (On These Cliffs) captures the brief moment in the serenity of nature, when you can face yourself openly, let your thoughts flow freely, and let all things settle into proper proportion. We figured that releasing it today, on Finnish Culture Day, would do the song justice.“ comments the band about the song

The music of VORNA from Tampere is as melancholic as sublimely gloomy. No wonder that the group has already toured or played shows with Insomnium, Wintersun, Kalmah, Thyrfing and Whispered. The sextet from Finland, active since 2008, enters with a majestic metal sound that also features symphonic and folk accents.

The band’s fourth album stands out for its self-evident, breathing musicality. The lyrics are presented again in the Finnish native language of the musicians and support the mythical character of the tracks. The album title could hardly be more aptly chosen. “Aamunkoi” can be translated as “Aurora”. In literature, this means “The Dawn”. In the far north, where VORNA come from, this is also the name for the phenomenon of the polar lights. In both interpretations darkness and grace play a role. Astonishment and fear are also to be associated. Not everything can be grasped and cleary understood. Much remains in the indefinite and in the intermediate tones. This closes the circle to the melancholic metal of the six Finns and their nature-loving understanding of art.

In comparison with the debut “Ajastaika” (2013), the second album from 2015, “Ei valo minua seuraa”, and the debut on LIFEFORCE RECORDS, “Sateet palata saavat” (2019), VORNA surpass themselves on “Aamunkoi”. All songs sound immensely multifaceted, accentuated and above all atmospheric.

The gloomy emotionality and fine melody lines of the band’s fourth album pull in their spell. The contrasting play between forward attacks and fragile atmosphere, which reaches deep, has lasting effects and impresses.

VORNA about Aamunkoi:

“Life is finite, unpredictable, and unfair. The album’s main theme is survival in the uncertain world where the lucky ones who get to witness a new day have a chance to strive for a better future – when they still can.

Music-wise Aamunkoi is Vorna’s most melodic work to date and we have once again broadened our musical horizon towards new territories on every instrument. “

BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE Share New Song ‘Glory to the King’

Progressive rock trio BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE is now sharing a brand new single, “Glory to the King!” The song is taken from the band’s forthcoming full-length, ‘Tempus Veritas,’ due on April 14, 2023! The song can be heard at THIS LOCATION.

BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE comment on the song: “We’re super proud of this song – it’s one of the biggest choruses on ‘Tempus Veritas.’ The middle section also has some of our favourite vocal harmonic moments, with a crazy riff hitting straight after. The lyrical narrative explores the relationship between an early Meso-American emperor Montezuma and the explorer and conquistador Hernán Cortés. The story, told from the point of view of Montezuma, imagines that the new arrival was initially seen as a god – assumed to be the deity Quetzalcoatl. When Cortes cuts himself and is seen bleeding, the mirage is shattered and the Aztec ruler goes to war with the people he now realises are merely men.”

Pre-orders are now available HERE. The album can be pre-saved on various digital platforms HERE.

The cover artwork for ‘Tempus Veritas’ was created by BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE and Ines Hernandez.

Track-list:

1. Tempus Veritas (1:24)
2. Hydrogen (3:57)
3. The Raven (3:41)
4. Last Ronin (4:27)
5. Scarlet Haze (3:42)
6. Deny The Sun (3:15) [WATCH]
7. Glory To The King (3:37) [LISTEN]
8. Summit (3:07)
9. Weakness (2:49)
10. Vesuvius (3:44)
