Following on the heels of their most intensely personal and powerful album to date, Los Angeles psych-rock masters THE WARLOCKS are heading overseas to perform a series of shows throughout the UK, France, Italy and other European countries. Formed in 1999, The Warlocks produce a relentless, hypnotic wall of sound that suggests a collision between classic psychedelia, Krautrock and The Velvet Underground. The band’s newest album, In Between Sad, was written in the wake of frontman Bobby Hecksher’s loss of his brother to cancer and is a deeply moving, immensely heavy album that is arguably Hecksher’s most intimate of his 25+ year career.

The band will be performing songs from that album as well as songs from their incredible catalog of studio releases. See below for the complete list of dates and get your tickets before they sell out! Visit https://www.thewarlocks.com/ for more info.

VOLTUMNA to Release New EP in Early 2024

Italian blackened death trio VOLTUMNA will release a brand-new EP early next year.  The pre-orders will be available soon via Bandcamp.

VOLTUMNA were born in 2009 by the hands of the only original member Haruspex (guitars, vocals), now flanked by Augur Veii (drums) and the main composer Phersu (vocals, bass, programming, production). The current power trio line-up follows a path of esoteric knowledge and traditional heritage, which fascinates the whole band and spreads a savage and ferocious creativity.
Fueled by an ancestral binding with their Etruscan roots, the music and concept of VOLTUMNA aren’t related to any contemporary ideological, cultural and religious movement, focusing instead on a historical and anthropological reinterpretation of the Ancient Wars.

The genre proposed by VOLTUMNA flows into the stream of Polish blackened death metal. A style which partly reflects the sound of Behemoth at their best, but enriched over time by a lot of diverse influences, from Swedish death metal (At The Gates, Dismember) to melodic/symphonic black metal (Dissection, Satyricon, Dimmu Borgir).

Outside music in the strict sense, VOLTUMNA draw inspiration from apocryphal transcripts emerging from the dawn of time. Tales from forgotten civilizations or imaginary legends, handed down through oral tradition and native folklore, but whose symbolic and spiritual significance is more modern than ever.

The band is currently working on their 5th studio album.

VOLTUMNA are:
Haruspex (Michele Valentini) – guitars, vocals
Phersu (Emiliano Natali) – vocal, bass, programming
Augur Veii (Edoardo Di Santo) – drums

80s Rock Icons MISSING PERSONS Preview New Album “Hollywood Lie” with Captivating New Single ‘Ice Blue Eyes’

One of the most quintessentially ‘80s rock groups is back with a brand new studio album of all original material that revives the band’s vintage sound and edgy, melodic songwriting. Founded in the ‘80s under the stewardship of Frank Zappa, MISSING PERSONS brought the musical inventiveness of Zappa-styled art rock to mainstream pop, a combination that produced a series of brilliant hit singles – “Destination Unknown,” “Words,” “Walking In L.A.” – that remain as indelible today as they were when they were first released. The band went on to become an influential touchstone for numerous modern pop artists from No Doubt’s Gwen Stefani to Lady Gaga, largely thanks to its visionary singer and fashion icon Dale Bozzio, who continues to lead the band, now in its fifth decade, both on stage and in the studio.

Reteaming the band with acclaimed producer/musician Adam Hamilton who worked on the previous Missing Persons album, 2020’s Dreaming, Hollywood Lie is themed around the promises and pitfalls of glitzy, glamorous stardom, a subject Bozzio recently explored in print form with her autobiography “Life Is So Strange – Missing Persons, Frank Zappa, Prince & Beyond.” For Hollywood Lie the album, Bozzio is joined by members of her current live band, including The Knack’s Prescott Niles, guitarist Karl D’Amico, and keyboardist Fred Bensi, as well as a special guest contribution from Billy Idol guitarist Steve Stevens, who bring back the angular guitar riffs and catchy synth lines that made Missing Persons a radio staple throughout the last 40+ years. For proof, just check out the incredible first single to be released from the album, “Ice Blue Eyes,” and see if you don’t feel transported back a few decades!

Stream/download the single: https://orcd.co/missingpersons_iceblueeyes

Hollywood Lie is without a doubt the best Missing Persons album since their ‘80s heyday. It will be available everywhere November 10 on all formats, including CD and vinyl. Order your copy today!

ETERNAL SILENCE to Release New EP “3” on December 22nd

After the excellent feedback received for the full-length album “Timegate Anathema”, released by Rockshots Records in 2020, ETERNAL SILENCE is thrilled to announce the release of their new EP, titled “3” on December 22nd, 2023, in digital format.

The EP is a concept release inspired by the Norse legend of the Norns, the deities responsible for shaping the course of human destinies. Eternal and powerful entities capable of writing the fate of the universe. These will be the main characters of a story entirely conceived by Marika Vanni and the band. The story is divided into three parts, each presenting independent tales that eventually merge into a cohesive narrative.

The record will be accompanied by artwork by Jessica Campo, with each piece representing a different chapter of the story narrated in this EP. The recording sessions took place at 2Play Studio in Induno Olona (VA), with mixing and mastering handled by Maria Grazia Zancopè.

3 is a number with infinite meanings; in this EP, strong references are made to Norse mythology. Three, like the Norns, who are female figures fundamental to human existence and beyond. They weave, braid, and finally cut the threads of the lives of men and Gods. At the same time, they take care of Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life, helping it flourish again in its eternal life cycle. There are three unreleased tracks in this EP: “Thread of Life” is the first song and encapsulates the essence of the whole project. It describes the cycle of life through the rite of passage of the thread. Life is like the thread that passes through the hands of the Norns.

Tracklist:

  1. Thread Of Life
  2. Prayer Of The Resilient
  3. Antithesys
  4. Death And The Maiden
  5. How Soon Is Now

⚡ LISTEN – https://bfan.link/thread-of-life

Alberto Cassina, singer, guitarist, and founder of the band, states: “This is a project that I had in mind for some time. I have always been fascinated by Norse mythology and its evocative atmospheres, which have accompanied me for several years and have become a part of me. In the pre-production phase, we worked closely with the Rockshots Records team and our management, who had the opportunity to listen to and appreciate the timeless atmospheres of the legends, showing curiosity about the development of the story. Hence the decision to present our effort divided into a few releases so that the listener can also be captivated by this magical and intense aura”.

ETERNAL SILENCE Line-up:

Marika Vanni – Vocals
Alberto Cassina – Guitar / Vocals
Martino Boneschi – Solo Guitar
Katija Di Giulio – Violin
Alessio Sessa – Bass
Lorenzo Aimo – Drums

“3” is set to be released as digital download and streaming on December 22.

About FREAKSHOW

FREAKSHOW’s debut album was a supergroup featuring Miss Crazy’s Ronnie Borchert, Cinderella’s Jeff LaBar, Quiet Riot’s Frankie Banali, and Tony Franklin, who had played in The Firm, Blue Murder, and Whitesnake.

FAST FORWARD to 2023 …different players, yet another output of AMAZING, hook-filled, blazing rock-n-roll! Ronnie Borchert brings together friends Carlos Cavazo on guitars (Quiet Riot & Ratt), Greg Chaisson on bass (Badlands & Atomic Kings), and Stet Howland on drums (W.A.S.P. & Metal Church) to record the brand-new album “So Shall It Be.”

FREAKSHOW’s founder, Ronnie Borchert stormed onto the rock scene in 2005 as the frontmanfor San Francisco-based Miss Crazy. His vocal style quickly solidified Miss Crazy as one of the best new melodic rock bands and drew quick comparisons to singers such as Brian Johnson, Tom Keifer, Steve Whitman, and Joe Elliot. Prior to Miss Crazy and FREAKSHOW, Ronnie was the lead vocalist for melodic hard rock and glam bands Amsterdam and Trixie.
