Swedish blackened death metal veterans FATAL EMBRACE will release their brand new full-length record, entitled “Manifestum Infernalis”, on March 24th via Black Lion Records. “Manifestum Infernalis” is the band’s long awaited first new work since 1997, and even though many years have passed, that doesn’t change the fact that Fatal Embrace are “hungrier than ever and super excited to write, record and release new music again!” After the release of the first two singles “Empyreal Doom” and “The Black Oath”, Fatal Embrace follow up with a brand new lyric video for the track “The Rot”.

Fatal Embrace comments:

“The Rot is our third single from our upcoming album Manifestum Infernalis. It was written late in the process but quickly became a band favorite on the album. It has a storytelling quality to it and the lyrics has quite a story to tell as well. It has those qualities that have become our call sign. Frantic parts blended with melodic passages all blended together in darkness to set the mood just right. By now our stand on faith based decision making and collective delusional thinking should be quite clear. This is the death of christianity. This is The Rot. A manifesto all on its own.“

“Manifestum Infernalis” was recorded, mixed, produced and mastered in Studiomega by Christian Silver and Fatal Embrace. Album artwork by Moon Sang.
Layout and design by Andreas Johansson and Marcos Cerutti. The album is available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION

Tracklist:

  1. Empyreal Doom
  2. The Black Oath
  3. Wolves Of Golgotha
  4. Prometheus’ Sermon
  5. Call Of The dark
  6. Eyes of Oak
  7. Sign Of The Pentagram
  8. Deus Mali
  9. The Rot

Fatal Embrace are:
Henric Serholt – Vocals
Christian Silver – Drums

VOID CHAPTER Release Single ‘Resist’ (Feat. Celldweller) from Upcoming Album

VOID CHAPTER have announced their upcoming cinematic industrial rock album ‘humAnIty’ is now available for pre-order from FiXT.

Featuring appearances from Celldweller, Daedric, K Enagonio, Megan McDuffee, Robin Adams, and The Anix, the album is a masterfully crafted exhilarating audio journey through a dystopian sci-fi world. humAnIty showcases the years of experience as solo artists and producers, with the complex pristine sound design and audio production, and the fabric of rich storytelling and songwriting for each finely crafted single.

Laying the foundation for a future dystopian world run completely by merciless AI, ‘humAnIty’ picks up where previous albums The Sprawl and The Uprising left off. Each release features a facet of the bleak world inhabited by humanity in this dark future. The slow burning “Drones” tells the story of the day-to-day people trapped in hopelessness, and includes the first vocal performance from Void Chapter’s own Brian Skeel. While “Diabolic” (feat. Daedric) picks up the dark tale of a world under the control of an unmerciful A.I. maintaining its grip on humanity and our day to day lives.

All is not lost. Dropping with the pre-order announcement is the release of the extended cut of “Resist.” An anthem of rebellion, the original cosmic collaboration from Void Chapter and Celldweller brought the fury of roaring guitar riffs and a pummeling rhythm section capped by one of Celldweller’s most dynamic and powerful vocal performances to date.

The album also features the extended versions of the previous releases of “Diablolic”, “Reclaimer”, “Drones”, “Target Acquired” and a brilliant cover of Star Wars “Duel Of The Fates.”

The project is the brainchild of producers/composers Otto Cate, Adam Fielding, and Brian Skeel, and delivers an exhilarating audio journey through dystopian sci-fi worlds. Built upon years of experience as solo artists and producers, the project unites their efforts under the fabric of rich storytelling and songwriting with pristine sound design and audio production.

Celldweller has inspired tens of millions of listeners across a global community of fans, content creators, and brands with 500,000,000+ streams and hundreds of placements in major Films, TV shows, and Video Games. Celldweller’s discography includes the self-titled Celldweller album in 2003, Wish Upon A Blackstar in 2012, End of an Empire in 2015, and Offworld in 2017, and his 5th studio album Satellites in Fall 2022.

SKAM Release New Single ‘Do It Again’, Remastered Album “Intravenous” out March 3rd

Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: SKAM. Leave a comment

‘Do It Again’ is a previously unreleased track by UK rock band SKAM and is officially out now through X-Ray Records/Golden Robot Records.

Originally recorded during the sessions for Intravenous in 2021, the song is a love letter to the UK rock scene and the music that inspired the boys to pick up their instruments. Firmly inspired by the classic rock sound, the track uses this as a template while still having the stadium chorus and power riffs that fans have come to expect from the Leicester rockers.

Stream/buy ‘Do It Again’ HERE

Due for release March 3rd, Intravenous is the culmination of SKAM’s 2-part anthology, making up their 4th full length release. The album consists of both earlier released EPs – Intra and Venous, and has been re-mastered by Ade Emsley, known for his work mastering for Iron Maiden and other great bands.

The album is inspired by modern day struggles and each song focuses on a negative human trait but sends the message that in any situation, there is always hope. Having honed their craft, the lads have gone back to basics and put together a collection of hard-hitting tracks.

“Lyrically, the songs follow the same theme of human conditions and experiences. We have really tried to push the envelope of the SKAM sound on this one and there is something there for fans both old and new. You will hear hard hitting bangers typical of the sound SKAM are famous for, but also some curve balls in the form of a power ballad and a 90s style grunge track!” – Steve Hill (vocalist/guitarist)

The track listing will run in ‘album order’ as the band believes it should run when put together, and the release will include the previously unreleased track ‘Do It Again’

Pre-order/add/save Intravenous HERE

Finnish SMACKBOUND Release New Studio Album “Hostage” in April, Reveal First Video + Single ‘Change’

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the upcoming release of SMACKBOUND‘s new album “Hostage” on April 21, 2023. The Finnish five-piece, vocalist Netta Laurenne, guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari, drummer Rolf Pilve, keyboardist Vili Itäpelto, and bassist Tuomas Yli-Jaskari, once again deliver a hooky, driving, metal-influenced slab of hard rock power on their second album. The first single and music video from the album, ‘Change’ is out today.

Pre-order/save “Hostage” HERE: https://orcd.co/hostage

”We started writing the album in early 2021 and even recorded the drums for a couple of songs we had ready in the fall, but then stopped the process because a lot was going on in our lives. Given a deadline for getting the album done, most of it was written and recorded in September and October 2022 and I remember writing lyrics and singing lead vocals just days before mastering. And we mixed the album until the very last minute, with Vili [Itäpelto] and Tuomas [Yli-Jaskari] taking turns between working on the record and sleeping! It was a hell of a ride, but we were able to pull through and give birth to our beloved second child, ”Hostage,” says vocalist Netta Laurenne.

Hailing from Finland, Smackbound’s story started back in 2015 when vocalist Netta Laurenne founded the group. A classically trained singer who has also studied pop, jazz, and folk singing, Laurenne’s powerful vocal style is also perfectly suited for hard rock and metal and she went about finding the perfect musicians to team with for the musical style she wanted to pursue with Smackbound. Guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari (Wintersun), drummer Rolf Pilve (Stratovarius, The Dark Element), keyboardist Vili Itäpelto (Tracedawn), and bassist Tuomas Yli-Jaskari (Tracedawn) joined forces with Netta and the band commenced writing songs and set about playing gigs to continue to gel as a cohesive unit. Those gigs helped the band build up their rapport as musicians and live performers, turning them into a well-oiled machine by the time they hit the studio to record their debut album “20/20”.

But before “20/20” was released, the band formally debuted with a string of successful singles and videos on Youtube including the hooky ‘Drive It Like You Stole It,” the energetic “Wall Of Silence,” and the powerful “Run”. All three singles were included on the band’s debut album, which was recorded at Sonic Pump Studios, produced by Tuomas Yli-Jaskari, and mixed and mastered by Jesse Vainio (Sunrise Avenue, Apocalyptica, Poets Of The Fall), except for ‘Those Who Burn’, which was mixed by Nino Laurenne.

Between the release of “20/20” and the band’s upcoming album “Hostage”, Laurenne partook in various guest appearances and also partnered up with fellow Finnish vocalist Noora Louhimo to release an absolutely amazing heavy/hard rock album under the name Laurenne/Louhimo in 2021. “The Reckoning” was released to rave reviews as it showcased two powerful, dynamic vocalists delivering stunning performances boosted by their undeniable chemistry working together.

Now, Laurenne and her bandmates return for the second chapter of the ongoing story of Smackbound with “Hostage”.

“Hostage” Tracklisting:

  1. Reap
  2. Change
  3. Razor Sharp
  4. Rodrigo
  5. Break
  6. Imperfect Day
  7. Graveyard
  8. Traveling Back
  9. Hold The Fire
  10. Hostage
  11. The Edge

Line-Up:
Netta Laurenne – Vocals
Teemu Mäntysaari – Guitars
Tuomas Yli-Jaskari – Bass
Vili Itäpelto – Keyboards
Rolf Pilve – Drums

Produced by: Tuomas Yli-Jaskari, Netta Laurenne, Vili Itäpelto

GLENN HUGHES Performs Classic Deep Purple Live Celebrating The 50th Anniversary of “Burn” UK Tour

Glenn’s band will feature Soren Andersen (guitar), Ash Sheehan (drums) and Bob Fridzema (keyboards).

‘It was 50 years ago, in the summer of 1973, that the BURN album by Deep Purple was written at Clearwell Castle in the Forest of Dean Gloucestershire,” reminisces Glenn. “It was recorded in October in Montreux, Switzerland.”

Continues Hughes, “We all became one in this centuries old castle in the UK countryside, it felt like Deep were a new band, with David (Coverdale) and I as new members, we couldn’t wait to start working on new songs. The atmosphere was electric, in such amazing surroundings.”

“All the songs on BURN were written in the crypt/dungeon, underneath the great hall. We worked on a new song every day, and we were in the flow. Musically we would play, and work out ideas, and David and I would come up with vocal melodies that would later have lyrics. I remember it like it was yesterday.”

“As you could imagine, Ritchie Blackmore was in full prankster mode, Jon had warned me, and he rigged my room one night with a speaker that was hidden, and had ghostly voices delivered to my bedside.”

“The title track was the last song to be written. We came back from the pub, and went down into the crypt, and magic happened.”

Concludes Hughes, “It’s time to celebrate BURN, and I’m really looking forward to seeing you.”

DEEP PURPLE – THE STORY BEHIND “BURN”

“BURN” is the eighth studio album by the English rock band Deep Purple, written and recorded in 1973, and released in February 1974. The album was the first to feature then-unknown David Coverdale on vocals and Glenn Hughes, from Trapeze, on bass and vocals.

The album was recorded in Montreux, Switzerland, in November 1973, with the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio. With the addition of David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes, Deep Purple’s hard rock sound incorporated elements of soul and funk, which would become much more prominent on the follow-up album, “Stormbringer.”

BURN hit #3 on the UK Albums Chart, #9 on the US Billboard 200, and #1 in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Norway.

In 2004 “BURN” was remastered and released with bonus tracks. Coronarias Redig was recorded during the “BURN” recording sessions, used only as a B-side for the Might Just Take Your Life single in 1974. It appears as a bonus track (in remixed form) on the anniversary edition re-release. The 2004 remix version of “BURN” was later used in “Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock.”

In 2005 an unauthorised documentary about the album was produced as part of “The Ultimate Critical Review” series. It featured brand new interview with the original Deep Purple Mk III bassist and vocalist Glenn Hughes.

Lead single “Might Just Take Your Life,” released 4 March, was Deep Purple’s first UK single in two years.

The phenomenal title track started things off at full throttle and challenged the seminal “Highway Star” for the honour of best opener to any Deep Purple album, while showcasing the always impressive drumming of Ian Paice. The fantastic slow-boiling blues of “Mistreated’s” greatness qualifies it for the highest echelons of hard rock achievement, and therefore ranks as an essential item in the discography of any self-respecting music fan.

SLEEP TOKEN Announce Third Album “Take Me Back to Eden” + Share ‘Vore’ Video

Posted by tarjavirmakari on February 20, 2023
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: SLEEP TOKEN. Leave a comment

With fan worship more intense than ever, and worldwide interest and intrigue growing at runaway speed, SLEEP TOKEN are set to reach bold new heights with studio album No. 3, Take Me Back To Eden, set for release on May 19.

Take Me Back To Eden — an hour-plus of music across 12 distinctive tracks — is Part 3 of a trilogy, a spectacular chapter-closer in the ongoing Sleep Token saga — a saga that kicked off in earnest with debut album Sundowning (2019).

…Eden features probably the heaviest moments thus far recorded by Sleep Token (i.e. “Vore” + “The Summoning”), along with some of the most immediate and certainly the most emotional (i.e. “Aqua Regia” + “DYWTYLM”), with a slew of other tones, textures, and tangents touched on in-between.

TMBTE sees Sleep Token boldly re-confirming a  true  love of the epic (the title track is eight minutes plus), while further exploring and developing those elements that keep the music removed from any kind of pack, howling at a moon that’s all its own.

TAKE ME BACK TO EDEN TRACK LISTING:
“Chokehold”
“The Summoning”
“Granite”
“Aqua Regia”
“Vore”
“Ascensionism”
“Are You Really Okay?”
“The Apparition”
“DYWTYLM”
“Rain”
“Take Me Back To Eden”
“Euclid”

Pre-orders are now available across various formats, including four stunning limited vinyl pressings, exclusive cassettes, and other merch items such as t-shirts, long-sleeves, and hoodies. Pre-order here.

Meanwhile, standout single “The Summoning” has already generated some 16.5 million streams globally, causing the track to trend on Twitter and take the #1 song spot on a host of international Spotify viral charts, as well as being selected as a “YouTube Trending Artist On The Rise,” featuring on YouTube’s home page, viewed by millions of people every day.

The unprecedented accolades keep rolling in, between the fact that Sleep Token has never played a headline show in the UK that didn’t sell out, “Aqua Regia” picking up airplay on the Radio One “Future Sounds” show hosted by Clara Amfo, plus huge pop star Demi Lovato sharing Sleep Token’s music with her 148 million Instagram followers, Sleep Token consistently smash boundaries that they refused to acknowledge in the first place.

And even though Sleep Token notoriously do not speak to the press (out of necessity, not ego or gimmick), media can’t help but write about the phenomenon, reporting on the band’s every move; NME notes “Sleep Token offer their fans an entire world to immerse themselves in if they so wish. It’s a place of escapism, and the foundation of a huge fan community that’s dedicated to studying the band’s creativity. While they have the same fervor as any other fandom, there’s still a notable difference,” while Metal Hammer called them “the most exciting band in metal right now.”

SUMMER FESTIVALS:

6.7-10.2023: Mystic Festival, Gdansk, Poland
6.23-25.2023: Full Force Festival, Ferropolis, Germany
6.23.2023: Jera On Air, Ysselsteyn, Netherlands
