Finnish melancholic metal band ABANDON ALL‘s new single Forever Yours is a heart-rending story about beloved one’s passing and devastating feelings to go through after a huge loss. Lyrics are inspired by a real life poem released as an obituary notice. It’s the first single from band’s debut album Far Away, set to be released later 2023.
Abandon All was founded in 2020 and after one year the line-up stabilized to it’s current form – Monia Sommer (Vocals), Juha Nygren (Guitar), Kari Harjunniemi (Guitar), Ami Havukainen (Drums) ja Sami Heinonen (Bass)
SETANERA is an Italian female-fronted metal band that gained a solid reputation in the past few years and now released the video of the song ‘Equilibrium‘ to anticipate a new album that will be out on February 17th via Volcano Records & Promotion.
The band shows a sonic maturity in these five minutes of intense melodic metal that combine both symphonic influences with a more modern and alternative approach. The strong voice of Valentina Bucci appears to be the perfect leader on a solid carpet of drum and bass while guitars and keyboard outline a deep harmonic landscape that’s worth of being explored.
From longtime Danzig/Samhain associate, Steve Zing, comes a new project featuring heavy riffs, punishing rhythms, and the bleakest of lyrics – BLAK29! A childhood friend of members of The Misfits and Glenn Danzig, Zing is a renowned figure of the horror punk scene, known for his powerful drums for the legendary and highly influential rock band Samhain and as the current bassist for Danzig. With BLAK29, Zing finally takes center stage and is set to release the group’s second album, The Waiting, which features a newly designed band logo courtesy of Danzig himself, on March 3!
Ahead of the album release, the band is releasing the first single “Destroyer” featuring guest vocals by The 69 Eyes frontman Jyrki 69 as well as musical contributions from Type O Negative drummer Johnny Kelly and Prong mastermind and Danzig guitarist Tommy Victor! Zing and company also shot a mesmerizing video for the track which is being released simultaneously.
Blak29 is the collaboration of Steve Zing and Dan Tracey (Marra’s Drug). Formed out of a result of being sick and tired of waiting on others, Zing and Tracey decided to write and record by themselves. This proved to be much easier than past projects where there was too much input from other members, turning everything into somewhat of ‘musical masturbation’.
As Zing describes it, “We start with ideas in my head and somehow Dan can figure out what I’m trying to get across. We were both pretty amazed on how easy ideas were bouncing off each other, which led into the full length album, ‘Love and Anger’”. The new album release (The Waiting) hails from the depths of the dead and the living, developing the thematics of Zing’s vision.
The Waiting curates a collection of songs that makes it an album that is not a metal or punk album as some would expect. Zing considers it a personal tragedy and triumph blend of ideas and emotions that resulted in a combustible cocktail.
LEE AARON releases the official video for “Elevate”. The song is the title track of Lee’s latest studio album which is released on 25.11.2022 by Metalville Records.
The video can be watched below.

Lee Aaron is on a roll. The award winning, songwriter, producer and Canadian vocalist blazed back onto the rock scene in 2016 (after a ten year hiatus to raise her family) with a wealth of original material and more firecracker energy than artists half her age. She’s since produced 6 new releases, including a ‘live’ CD/DVD, with ELEVATE being the latest and possibly coolest addition to this renewed chapter in her illustrious career.
ELEVATE was written during the Covid lockdown, but rather than allowing that isolation to push the band into a negative place, Lee booked a studio lockout for the fall of 2021.
ELEVATE contains ten original tracks steeped in what has become Aaron’s signature sound: big guitar hooks, powerful, bluesy vocals, rich melodies and harmonies and just enough sassy attitude to tip the scales.
Aaron has always been known for digging a little deeper with her lyric content and ELEVATE is no exception.
ELEVATE was recorded in Aaron’s traditional fashion: live off the floor with her crack band, Sean Kelly (guitar), Dave Reimer (bass) and John Cody (drums) at the Armoury Studios in Vancouver with the finishing touches recorded at the band’s home studios. After forging a strong friendship and working relationship with Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams) on the last album, he once again teams up with Lee and the band for ELEVATE as recording and mix engineer.
About ELEVATE Aaron explains “I think it’s a shame how social media can divide good people. Analytics guarantee everyone has their own special ‘feed’ and you’re never hearing a different perspective – it polarizes people. ELEVATE is about not buying into that trap, it’s about choosing to lift each other up.”
As the title track inspires, “It’s not too late to re-create, let’s celebrate, let’s Elevate – LET’S ELEVATE!”
