Get ready for an apocalyptic journey! March 3, 2023 will see Swedish melodic power/heavy metal act KARDINAL SIN release their forthcoming studio album, entitled “S.A.L.I.G.I.A”, via Massacre Records.
Offering more complex songs as well as darker lyrics about the world situation now and then, and how we push humanity towards the apocalypse through war and environmental destruction – compared to the band’s debut – “S.A.L.I.G.I.A”, promises to feature more elaborate songs and arrangements, and is a musical journey through history from the Middle Ages to present.
Now, the band has shared a music video for their first single, “Siege Of Jerusalem”, featuring Ellinor “Hellinor” Asp on guest vocals! Watch the new clip here:
“This song is about the siege of Jerusalem in the year 1099 and how King Salahadin’s legions gathered outside the walls of Jerusalem and the anxiety of the Knights Templar holding the city. It’s a mid-tempo song with an Arabic kinda sound to it. KARDINAL SIN are very proud to have the amazing voice of Ellinor “Hellinor” Asp as a partner in crime to Daniel Wikerman, who gives the song that extra edge!“
“S.A.L.I.G.I.A” was mixed by Fredrik Folkare at Chrome Studios, and was mastered by Lawrence Mackrory (Obey Mastering). Slated to be released as CD Digipak, Ltd. Vinyl LP and Digital formats on March 3, 2023, the album pre-sale is now available at THIS LOCATION!

On February 10, up-and-coming death/thrash metallers SCHIZOPHRENIA will release their brand new tribute EP “Chants Of The Abyss”. “Chants Of The Abyss” is no ordinary EP, instead the new release of the Antwerp four-piece features six cover songs and personal interpretations of timeless classics by cult acts such as Slayer, Judas Priest, Mistfits, Exodus, GBH and Morbid Angel. Bands that paved the way for many out there, shaped an entire scene and whose songs we all know and cherish all too well!
After the release of the first two singles “Maze Of Torment” (Morbid Angel) and “Bullet” (Misfits), the Belgian metallers of Schizophrenia follow up today with the next track – their very own interpretation of “Necrophiliac” by thrash icons SLAYER! The track comes with a brand new music video, which you can watch here:
Vocalist and bassist Ricky Mandozzi comments:
“Slayer has always been one of our main influences so it was an easy choice to pay tribute to them. We did it by covering a song from an album, at times underrated, but that embodies the definition of extreme metal. So here is our take on a song that we feel deserves more recognition due to its morbid lyrics, razor-sharp riffs and pounding drumbeats. Recording this one has been exciting and challenging at the same time, especially for Lorenzo who had the chance to cover another one of the most influential drummers, Dave Lombardo, along with Pete Sandoval from Morbid Angel not simply replicating their drum lines but giving his own take on the drums. We hope you’ll enjoy the outcome!“
“Chants Of The Abyss” will be coming out on February 10th and is available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION
Tracklist:
Necrophiliac (Slayer cover)
Maze Of Torment (Morbid Angel cover)

Kicking off the New Year with their trademark electro-powered rock’n’roll cool, Sweden’s SATAN TAKES A HOLIDAY have shared impressive technicolor visuals for their latest single “All Nighter” featuring the rising queen of electro-clash EMMON. Masterminded by esteemed producer Johan Gustafsson (The Hives, Randy), “All Nighter” will appear on Satan Takes A Holiday’s upcoming new album “Satanism” (due April 2023).
When it came to making the video for “All Nighter ” the band enlisted long time collaborator Johan Lundsten. Speaking on how the video came together, Johan said, – “The instant I heard the guitar solo I knew we’d have to do stylized ultra-violence. There was no other way. When I made the first tentative pitch of this to Fred, I believe I somehow could hear him grinning from ear to ear. Not sure how that works, but I swear I heard it. Revenge movies have a special place in our hearts and culture. The fantasy of life handing us a worthy and all-encompassing goal, as well as the tools to realize it right away. As a matter of fact: that very same night. “
Fred Burman explains the process behind “All Nighter”: – “We searched far and wide for that other voice to tie in to the themes of the lyrics and when Swedish electro queen Emmon was suggested to us we leapt at the massively intriguing opportunity. Our vision for the personality and sound for this song required a level of engineering skill and with Johan Gustafsson’s (Sahara Hotnights, Fireside, Viagra Boys) track record, the choice was obvious. It goes from a cool retro synth strut to an explosive and massive rock chorus and back again and we are beyond pleased with his work on this album and on this song in particular. Visually we took heavy inspiration from printed gig posters from bands in the punk and doom/stoner scenes throughout the decades, juxtaposed with early sidescroller fighting games. Emmon is a friggin’ beast, one of the few people with the gravitas to match the singular energetic presence of Satan Takes A Holiday. Both actors made fantastic and unexpected contributions to the film, it’s such a treat when everyone instantly grasps the concept and starts exploring.”
Fred added, “To get Emmon on board in the first place was a big win for us and to also have her front and center in the video is a pure delight. This is our third time collaborating with Johan and as usual we accepted the pitch without any hesitation and went where his mind took us. Being kids of the 80s and 90s, we love B-movies and video games and we were excited to see it take form. We are over the moon with the end result.”

Last month, Satan Takes A Holiday announced details of their upcoming album “Satanism” which is set for release in Spring 2023 on Swedish label Despotz. The Swedish stalwarts headed into the revered Studio Ingrid with Johan Gustafsonn (The Hives, Randy) and long-time collaborator Alexander Idfalk to reignite the flames behind their mix of rock’n’roll and 60’s garage with their love for dark contemporary pop.
“All Nighter” and “Feel My Love” will appear on “Satanism” – the follow-up to 2019’s “A New Sensation” album and 2017’s “Aliens” album, both of which saw them pick up TV soundtracking credits with the singles “Set Me On Fire” (as recognised on Netflix’s Lucifer) and “The Beat” (on Fox’s Gotham). These two previous releases saw Spotify support in the form of additions to All New Rock, New Noise, Rock Rotation, The Rock List, Most Wanted Rock and New Music Friday.
A spectacular addition to Satan Takes A Holiday’s impressive back catalog, “Satanism” is the band’s most upfront and arresting album to date, dealing with topics of grief, sleepless nights, parenting, violent confrontations and final showdowns while inviting you to dance, riot and reflect. It is quite simply, Satan Takes a Holiday distilled into their purest form, making for one hell of a soundtrack. The new album sees the likes of artists Emmon, (Patrik) Von Arfve, Andreas Hourdakis and David Park jump on board and join Satan Takes A Holiday on this crazy new trip.

As the world went into hibernation, sprawling Swedish rock outfit Satan Takes A Holiday had to find opportunity in isolation – to open every window while doors were slamming shut. The band hunkered down and meditated, reflected on where they had been, where they were and where to go next. The lemons were turned into lemonade, spiked with Jack and sweat. Aesthetically, conceptually, tonally; where there previously had been artistic boundaries, suddenly none remained. Songs, sounds and grooves that had seemed off limits and intimidating were now temptingly calling to be explored. Intoxicated, frustrated and ready to dance, the stage was set for the bands most playful yet sincere, thoughtful yet utterly audacious album to date.
Satan Takes A Holiday grabs you by the neck and doesn’t let go until you shake your butt to the point of beverage spill. With their mix of rock’n’roll, 60’s garage and 70’s groove as well as a clear love for the darker sides of modern pop Satan Takes A Holiday will make you move, and then move some more. In addition to the TV credits, Satan Takes A Holiday have enjoyed recognition from radio stations such as BBC 6 Music with godfather of Punk Iggy Pop and consistent playlisting from Sweden’s P3, earned praise from press outlets such as Classic Rock/Louder Sound, Ghost Cult Magazine, Rock Hard etc. and have played alongside legends such as the likes of Kiss, the Sonics, Mustasch, Juliette Lewis, Backyard Babies and Imperial State Electric all while holding their own.
Satan Takes A Holiday is now firmly held as one of the best live bands in Sweden, a fixture at festivals and venues around Europe and a phenomenon few have missed.
‘SHOCK AND AWE’ is the new single from Swedish thrash metal band METHANE. Released ahead of their upcoming full length, ‘KILL IT WITH FIRE,’ set to be released January 27th, ‘SHOCK AND AWE’ showcases the band’s energetic approach to thrash, providing a classic sound that is biting and unapologetic with a modern, ferocious tone.
METHANE’s sound is born from the influence of SLAYER, KREATOR, and HAVOK but ‘KILL IT WITH FIRE’ pushes their sound into the modern era with a focus on a heavy and scorching array of songs.

Years after debuting at Roadburn 2018 as a European counterpart for the San Diego-Takeover, IRON JINN, featuring members of The Devil’s Blood, Death Alley, Shaking Godspeed and Birth Of Joy, comes full circle with a release party at Roadburn 2023!
Iron Jinn will be released on April 21, 2023 coinciding with the band’s appearance at the festival. A limited Roadburn edition of the vinyl will be available exclusively there and in the Stickman Records webshop.
You can get a taste of their woozy rock’n’roll on debut single Soft Healers, and get swept along with the tide on Winding World – their brand new track released today to coincide with this very announcement. Listen to Winding World now!
Says guitarist/singer Wout Kemkens of the new single: ”Winding World is like a sonic action painting to me; the parade of seemingly unrelated images/happenings that pass by during the song is an ode to the fact that everything is constantly changing, which is maddening, but beautiful. I always loved Louis Armstrong’s ‘Wonderful World’ and for me ‘Winding World’ feels related, but as a hectic 21st century version. A stroll in this particular moment of time, and really feeling and seeing what is happening, such a day.”
The Amsterdam-based band has also announced a slew of live dates celebrating the record, as well as an upcoming tour with Alain Johannes (Queens of the Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures). Not only will Iron Jinn be directly supporting Johannes on the tour, but also playing in his live band. Dates have not been made public yet, but the tour is slated for September/October of this year. Atmospheric black metal band IMPERIUM DEKADENZ flips the script and invites you into the halls of doom with the third single, “Forests in Gale”, just before their new album, Into Sorrow Evermore, drops this Friday via Napalm Records. The new track displays their very own style in mid-tempo speed, inducing a changeover in the song’s next phase that evokes drama and dynamic perception.
Since breaking the scene into with their critically acclaimed debut, …und die Welt ward kalt und leer, in 2006, the band has developed their own ambient sound with a strong emphasis on melodic structuring and raw tunes that are influenced by the second wave of Norwegian black metal without losing its unique trademarks. With eight new tracks addressing themes of depression, death and desperation, IMPERIUM DEKADENZ sticks to their haunting roots and conquers the upper echelons of the black metal world on Into Sorrow Evermore.
IMPERIUM DEKADENZ on “Forests in Gale”: “We’re proud to present this mighty glimpse of our world filled with darkness and shadows. ‘Forests in Gale’ is the last raging stand before we finally share our new album Into Sorrow Evermore, unleashing the fury of beauty and the demons of the past – may the storm begin!”
On their new album, IMPERIUMDEKADENZ continues their unique journey with dark, ambient sounds, luring the listener into suffocating spheres of black metal. Opener and title track “Into Sorrow Evermore” starts off with classic tremolo-picked black metal guitars and hard-hitting drums, building a gloomy atmosphere with the thrilling sound of vocalist Horaz spurring the album’s immersion. “Truth under Stars” lures with pummeling blast beats accompanied by tragic guitar melodies as deep growls complement them to envelop the signature grim mood of the band. “Aurora” showcases melancholic pianos, accompanied by trudging drums as icy guitars swoon with a distorted but lush melody, building up to a serene guitar solo that cries its sorrows to the sky. The influence of various metal genres can be witnessed in songs like “Elysian Fields” and “Awakened beyond Dreams”, while in between, “Forests in Gale” ensures characteristic style devices in mid-tempo speed, inducing a shift before delivering drama and dynamics. IMPERIUM DEKADENZ closes the album with “Memories … a Raging River”, rightly encompassing all vicious vibes of the album into one final song. The album’s flow mimics life itself, beginning with high energy that slowly fades into melancholy as it lives on.
IMPERIUM DEKADENZ state: “In the dark and cold season, in a world that threatens to sink into its rising shadows, our new album ‘Into Sorrow Evermore’ rises from the fog of uncertainty. Melancholic, powerful, poignant, a reflection of the isolation and upheaval of recent years, but also a shadowy dream of what may come. Once again, we are happy to share our world and fill hearts. Into the darkness we strive, guided by our dreams, driven by the relentless time!”
