NIGHTFALL Cover The Cramps’ ‘Mean Machine’

Greek metal masters NIGHTFALL are now premiering a new lyric video for the track ‘Mean Machine’ which was originally recorded by THE CRAMPS in 1994. The track was recorded by NIGHTFALL in December 1996 in Tico Tico studios, Finland and served as a bonus track to the “Lesbian Show” album. The clip can be seen and heard at THIS LOCATION.

Vocalist Efthimis Karadimas comments: “‘Mean Machine’ is the first ever song I listened by the Cramps. Its filthy sound and performance might well be described as a spit to the face of anything normal out there. Lyric-wise I’d say it is more about accepting the role of the bad guy, rather than trying to prove the opposite. The 90s were wild in terms of social approbation. I felt connected to that song for somehow it made me feel it was like we were the ‘mean machines,’ the outcasts, the bad guys, people did not want to have any connection with. The Cramps have ceased to exist, but thanks to Burton’s ‘Wednesday’ Netflix series, they are beautifully haunting our dreams again. ‘Mean Machine’s’ our tribute to them. We share it with you untouched, right from the depths of XX Century.”

The band is supporting their 2021 release, ‘At Night We Prey.’ The album is about depression’s martyrdom and how societies mistreating and stigmatizing those who suffer and can be streamed, downloaded, and purchased HERE.

HELD HOSTAGE will be performing special original rock set at the Metal Hall Of Fame Gala for all inductees and attendees. The lineup for that show will be Tom Collier founder/lead guitarist/lead vocals, Bill Ali guest vocalist, Scott Gregg rhythm guitarist/backup vocals, Dave Carroll bass guitarist/backup vocals, Ian Evans Drummer.

The Metal Hall of Fame announced the induction of 4 Hard Rock and Heavy Metal legends into the Metal Hall of Fame: Twisted Sister, Lou Gramm, Chris Impellitteri, and Raven. Celebrated guitarist Steve Vai (Whitesnake /David Lee Roth) and legendary drummer Mike Portnoy, (Winery Dogs) will induct Twisted Sister.

The event will include numerous performances, surprise artist appearances, a Meet & Greet, and All Star Jams. It will be hosted by radio/television music Icon Eddie Trunk, with entertainment personality Cathy Rankin.

The ‘Nova Iberian tour 2023’ trek will start at the Bad Bonn venue in Düdingen (CH) on March 03 and sees the band traveling throughout France, Spain and Portugal until a final curtain at the Hard Club venue in Porto (PT) on March 12. Says the band: “This song is about egoistic people. These kinds of people that never collaborate with others but despite it, they get their goals. That’s why there are a good amount of questions in the lyrics about how they got it if they never helped others. Why did you achieve your goals if you have never seen the sun? It’s questioning the existence of karma.

Also to remark that for this song we filmed an amazing and dangerous video. We filmed on a beach in our homeland Galicia with winds over 100km/h. It was really crazy, but it perfectly represents the power of nature and the frustration with karma.”

Metal Outfit ANCIENT SETTLERS Return with New Line-Up & New EP “Transition”

Presenting a new line-up with the inclusion of the female metal singer Argen Death (Vile-Hex) on voice and Agustin Martinez on the guitar, ANCIENT SETTLERS completed their current line-up with Rex Chiesa (Guitar), Herman Riera (Drums) and Miguel Herrera (Bass).

But, what about Transition? In this opportunity the band arrives in 2023 with their most powerful set of songs since their debut, combining and energetic and intense Technical Melodic Death Metal, with a plenty of modern guitar solos, synths, clean and guttural voices working together, also supported by Gregorian chants in songs like “Mihi Nomen Est Ira”.

A long list of awesome collaborations supporting previous work of Ancient Settlers (Fredrik Nordstrom, Daniel Cardoso, Gus Sazes, etc) talks about the ambition of the band, and they follow the line in this new step of the settlers saga. Mixed and master by Pedro J Monge at Chomaticity Studios (Rise To Fall, Vhaldemar, Etc), acompained by an awesome art-cover designed by the greek ilustrator Jon Toussas (Metal Hammer, Suicidal Angels, Septic-Flesh), the release adds fresh stuff to their discography.

Moreover they have interesting voice collaborations in 3 of the fourth songs of the Ep: like Dalay Tarda (Rise To Fall), Pintxo Wayewta (Empire of Disease) and Andres Pestana (The Black Tree).

The first single “Mihi Nomen Est Ira” will be released on February 7th and the album will be released in May via Crusader Records/Golden Robot Records, in digital format, and also a limited physical special edition in Cd & Vinyl and will be supported by their 3rd European Tour.
