Melodic hard rockers Stormwarning are excited to announce the release of their highly anticipated sophomore album, “Future In Utopia”, out on January 22, 2027, via Frontiers Music Srl.

The new single, “Forged In Ice And Fire”, along with an official visualizer, is out today, giving fans a taste of the upcoming record.

Sergio Mazul commented: “Forged In Ice And Fire” is a song inspired by the challenges we all face in life. People and situations who takes us for breaking points, beyond our limits: broken trust, broken heart, broken dreams… Disappointments all around and you need to reborn, sometimes, dozens of times in one life. Restart from the absolute zero. Gave a filter of who or what you give permission to stay close and walk by your side since then. With “Future In Utopia”, Stormwarning return with their second album, once again showcasing the talent and unmistakable vocal presence of Santiago Ramonda.

Building on the foundations of their debut, the new record takes the band’s melodic hard rock sound to a more mature and confident level, combining powerful guitars, polished production, memorable melodies and an abundance of strong, hook-driven songwriting.

The album was once again produced by Sergio Mazul and Marcelo Gelbcke, whose work helps give the record its powerful, polished and contemporary sound.

Marcelo Gelbcke stated: “Future In Utopia” represents a significant step forward for Stormwarning. The songwriting and arrangements have matured, and the production is more elaborate, while the futuristic concept gives the album a stronger identity. Each song has its own personality, from the cinematic atmosphere of “Shine And Shade” and the epic journey of “Argonaut” to the classic 80s feeling of “Mystical” and the high-energy drive of “Night Drive Therapy”. “Victory Is Mine” opens the album with an anthemic statement, while “Forged In Ice And Fire” captures the classic Stormwarning sound with a powerful mid-tempo groove and a huge chorus.”

BELTEZ Announce Self-Titled Fifth Album + Share ‘Gebahren der Unvernunft’ Lyric Video

More than a decade after re-emerging from the shadows of Cologne’s underground, German black metal collective BELTEZ will release its fifth, self-titled album on December 4 via Vendetta Records. Taking its place alongside its two predecessors, “Beltez” stands as the band’s most focused, fierce, and emotionally resonant work yet.

To mark the announcement, the band have unveiled the album’s first single, “Gebahren der Unvernunft,” accompanied by an official lyric video, which you can watch here:

Across its towering compositions, the album channels the spirit that has defined the band’s journey since their re-appearance in 2015: a seamless union of relentless aggression, haunting atmosphere, and deeply evocative songwriting. Rooted in the icy traditions of black metal yet unbound by convention, “Beltez” traverses vast emotional landscapes where despair, defiance, contemplation, and catharsis collide.

Where previous releases expanded the band’s artistic horizons through ambitious concepts and immersive storytelling, “Beltez” turns inward. For the first time in a long time, the album contains lyrics solely written in German, reflecting on the struggles in life. The result is an album that feels both intimate and monumental – a work that captures the very core of the band’s identity while pushing their sound to new heights of intensity and depth.

The songwriting blends in with the band’s previous albums, whilst introducing fresh elements. Fans of their earlier work will recognise driving, meditative riffs and drum walls, which build to climactic moments with melancholic and epic undertones, whilst dynamic, accentuated drum patterns culminate in blasting storms.

Continuing in the vein of their previous albums, BELTEZ continue to resist the temptations of overly modern production styles. The drums are real and authentic, with physical instruments and amplifiers have been used, rather than soulless plug-ins.

During the long and trying silence since their last studio venture in 2021, Karelia’s Theodor Bastard have been searching for a way out of the shadows cast by the pandemic, war and invasive technologies. Now, with their upcoming new album,▽, the world music pioneers are returning with dark electronics for our dark times.

Previous singles “Nebo” “Sverkay” and “Vedma” launched Theodor Bastard back into the international headlines with a feature in the award-winning crime drama The Method and coverage spanning from Headbanger Russia and Belgium’s Grimm Gent to Canada’s Different Stages Radio, Latin America’s Metallerium and Metal Devastation Radio and Wildfire Music in the United States.

Today, Theodor Bastard are releasing the third and final advanced single from ▽ (pronounced V). By reconnecting with the band’s electronic roots, “Ostavlyaem” channels a ritual energy that lifts the spirit beyond our earthly realm.

▽ reflects just how much has changed since the world last heard from Theodor Bastard. While the band are still recognized internationally as leaders for ritual folk and world music, on their new album, they’ve re-embraced their early electronic impulses because that’s how life feels now: cold, sharp, tense.

“Our sound changed because the world changed”, Svolotch explains. “We had to destroy our own habits and expectations to make ▽. We wanted to start again, as if the band has no past, no safe place, no ready-made formula. As a result, this album is not a continuation of what came before. It’s a different door”.

To a world that’s mired in its own deadly trance, ▽ arrives like a much needed slap across the face. However, compared to the album’s previous singles, “Ostavlyaem” dances to a fragile beat that preserves the ritual spirit that’s always at the heart of Theodor Bastard. Electronic marimba springs lightly between soft drum pads, grounded by vocalist Yana Veva, whose  melodies transcend our broken sphere to a place amongst the stars. “Оставляем всё своё земле / Всё своё траве / Всё своё здесь (We leave all that is ours to the earth / All that is ours to grass/ All that is ours to here)”.

“So much has surrounded us during recent years: the pandemic, war, division, fear, anxiety over technology, and a sense that reality itself is becoming darker and more unstable”, Svolotch says. “We have felt so much anger, pain, confusion and disappointment both in ourselves and in the world around us. All these emotions were gathering inside us, changing, darkening, searching for a form, until they eventually transformed into the unexpected on ▽”.

Theodor Bastard refuse to stay still. In the years since their last studio venture, 2020’s Volch’ya Yagoda, the world music pioneers were searching for a way out of the darkness that’s descended over our reality. The path that they discovered didn’t lead back to their home in the harsh northern forest region of Karelia but away from it, into the coldness of the city and a collapsing civilization. By reconnecting with their electronic roots, Theodor Bastard are reborn on ▽.

“Our sound changed because the world changed”, producer, multi-instrumentalist and founding member Fedor Svolotch says. “We had to destroy our own habits and expectations to make ▽. We wanted to start again, as if the band has no past, no safe place, no ready-made formula. As a result, this album is not a continuation of what came before. It’s a different door”.

Svolotch founded Theodor Bastard in 1995. What started as a solo project grew during the 2000s into what’s now a seven-member band that includes vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Yana Veva, keyboardist Alexey Kalinovskiy, drummer Andy Vladich, vocalist Ekaterina Dolmatova, percussionist Kusas and cellist Vyacheslav Salikov. Blending the lines between ritual folk, electronic and world music has gained them international recognition. They’ve toured and performed at major festivals across Europe, including Fusion, Castlefest and Dark Bombastic Evening.

With eight studio albums, three video game soundtracks, two live albums, a compilation of remixes and syncs in major films and television shows, Theodor Bastard have also received international acclaim. The band have won a Russian World Music Award, a Golden Gargoyle, an International Acoustic Music Award and multiple LIT Music Awards. Their previous album, 2020’s Volch’ya Yagoda, won the St. Petersburg Best Album award in the Mood category. Its take on the Russian lullaby “Volchok” was a finalist in the World category for the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.

Long-time fans were pleasantly surprised when the pulse-pounding analog synths of “Nebo” first appeared in the award-winning Russian crime drama The Method. “We did not want to make another comfortable northern ethnic album just because that’s what some people might expect from us”, Svolotch says. “▽ is electronic, nervous, physical and wounded because this is how the world feels now”.

The album’s lead single is a sure sign that Theodor Bastard are bound for dark new horizons. Like a space shuttle, “Sverkay” rumbles with distorted bass before it’s suspended high above the earth by a trap-like beat. “Вдох – выдох (Inhale – Exhale)”, sings a bewitching Veva as she glimpses what’s to come from our dangerous endgame with war, technology and social division.

“This is not the time for beautiful genre obedience”, Svolotch says. “The world is full of violence, exhaustion, stupidity and fear. Instead of flights into space, instead of discovering the inner abysses within ourselves, humanity is once again busy with destruction, cruelty and self-hypnosis”.

The aggressive “Vedma” surges with black cosmic energy, as if summoning the apocalypse. “Ditya” questions the nature of our creation amidst a hybrid of electronic dance music, gospel and the blues. But the band aren’t without hope. At their core, the ritual spirit remains. “Ostavlyaem” dances as light as a feather, only to transcend this earth for a place amongst the stars.

MAGNUM Announce 15th Anniversary Reissues of “Evolution” & “The Visitation”, Out December 4th

The iconic British Rock band Magnum have announced 15th Anniversary reissues of the albums The Visitation and Evolution on gold 2LP vinyl and CD, to be released 4 December via Music Theories Recordings / Artone Label Group.

The band formed in Birmingham in 1972 by vocalist Bob Catley and guitarist, songwriter and producer Tony Clarkin. Known for their distinctive melodies, atmospheric arrangements, and Catley’s unmistakable vocals, the band built a career spanning more than five decades, during which they released 23 studio albums and 11 live albums.

The releases cover the period of the band that featured Bob Catley (vocals), Mark Stanway (Keyboards), Al Barrow (Bass), Harry James (Drums), and Tony Clarkin (Guitar), who sadly passed away in 2024.
​
The Visitation was originally released in January 2011 and was the band’s 16th studio album, with its distinctive artwork painted by longtime collaborator and conceptual fantasy artist Rodney Matthews. Following its release, the band took the new songs on a large European tour, visiting Sweden, Germany, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Belgium, and the UK.

In November that year, Evolution followed and was a compilation featuring songs from their post-2001 reunion period across the albums Breath of Life, Brand New Morning, Princess Alice and the Broken Arrow, Into the Valley of the Moonking and The Visitation; all were at the time re-recorded, remixed and remastered, along with two new recordings from the album. It went on to reach the Top 40 UK Independent album charts.

In support of Evolution, the band hit the road in the UK to end the year with a short run of shows, which included playing the festival Hard Rock Hell V in Prestatyn, North Wales, in which they headlined the Main Stage; Therapy?, Ginger Wildheart and Wolfsbane were also on the bill. Several songs from these two records made it into the band’s triumphant set that night.

2011 was a strong year for the beloved band, and these two albums reflect the power and creativity surging through them.

Ex-Plasmatics Metal Monsters KING FLUX Uncage ‘Man With The X-Ray Eyes’

When King Flux, the best-kept secret on the Lower East Side, released “The Reign of the Insane” earlier this year, a full album of their hard-hitting sound was… not quite an impossible dream, but certainly a few months down the turnpike.

Well, the months are over and King Flux is coming.  And standing at the starting gate, “Man With The X-Ray Eyes” recounts a very strange encounter that befell frontman Richie Stotts.

“New York’s Lower East Side in the ’80s was a place where you could lose your truck, get shaken down at Burger King, and come home with a song.

“Back then, I wrote the music while other people handled the lyrics. Then one night, my pickup truck vanished. Hours later, a stranger called with an unusual proposition: some guys wanted me to buy back my own truck.

“We met at the neighborhood Burger King, where I found a guy clinging to the back of my truck, high as a kite, weaving around and explaining that he needed to pay off some guys nearby who supposedly had my keys.

“I told him I was taking my truck and he wasn’t getting a dime. He cried. I drove him home. Back at my apartment, I wrote ‘Man with the X-Ray Eyes’ in one take, lyrics and vocal melody included. First time I’d done the whole thing myself.

“Turns out, getting your truck stolen can have its creative benefits!”

Streeting on November 20, the band’s self-titled album packs 16 King Flux classics onto one CD (ten on the white vinyl LP), and features an incredible cast of guests and fellow NYC rock veterans, including Richie’s fellow Plasmatics Chris Romanelli and Jean Beauvoir; Marky Bell (The Ramones), Albert Bouchard (Blue Öyster Cult), Andy Hilfiger, Billy Hilfiger and Tony Petri (Twisted Sister).

Archived for 40 years, and unheard in any form since King Flux’s legendary performances at New York’s Cat Club, and similar city venues, ​these phenomenal vault recordings finally give the band the album they never got to make the first time around.  So it’s a genuine time capsule but, more than that, it’s a reminder that hard-riffing, street-level rock never grows old.

It just bides its time, waiting until the world is ready to hear it.

Finnish alternative metal band Stråle are thrilled to announce that their new studio album, “Ephemera”, will be released on February 12, 2027, via Frontiers Music Srl.

Following the release of the single “Out Of The Loop”, now the band unveil a new track, “Chasing Ghosts”, available now along with an official video.

The band described it by saying: “Imagine your mind as a house full of lost things, dark corners and closets you’re afraid to open. Sometimes you have to face what’s inside and explore how you became who you are – just to keep from losing yourself. That’s what this song is about. The video became the perfect companion to the song: the vision grew clearer, and the ghosts came alive.”

Hailing from Helsinki, Finland, Stråle arrive with an album that delivers a modern blend of melodic metal and alternative rock, capturing the essence of contemporary melodic hard rock while forging a distinctive identity of their own.

The band commented: “Ephemera” isn’t a concept album, but somehow many of the songs touch on the same thing: how everything changes and fades, even what feels beautiful and important right now. I only recently discovered the word ‘ephemera’ – things that aren’t meant to last – and fell in love with it. Our cover artist, Costin Chioreanu, did an amazing job of capturing that feeling – painting your life as you go, knowing it will never stay the same.”
