STORMRULER comments on “Chapter I. The Sword, The Scepter & The Seal”: “The Sword, The Scepter and The Seal is a historical account told to the young wanderer by a scraggly old patron during the prologue of Morning Nautical Twilight. Beginning in the year 1142 F.A. TS3 takes place 2150 years before the rest of the record setting the course for the troubles that will come to haunt Aurelia and to give the listener a brief history on the origins of the Imperial Scepter.
The piece itself weaves in a sonic assault of folk, power, black and death. Equipped with soaring leads, mountainous melodies and a blistering rhythmic attack it takes the listener on a journey through the early ages of Umbria and the forging of the Imperial Scepter in the glowing embers of the Lunar Pyre.”
Set in present-day Aurelia, “Chapter I. The Sword, The Scepter & The Seal” introduces the land, core characters and the overarching story of Morning Nautical Twilight. The abrasive quality of black metal collides with the warmth and emotive tones of folk instruments and bright melodies. The July 5, 2025 Back To The Beginning show at Birmingham’s Villa Park marked Ozzy Osbourne‘s last performance and farewell to his fans (in his hometown just 17 days before his untimely death) reuniting with his Black Sabbath band mates: Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward marking the iconic group’s first performance together in more than 20 years and their triumphant final show. The sold-out show commanded more than three million requests for the 44,000 available tickets with the event watched by a record-breaking global live audience. The concert—hosted by Jason Momoa with musical director Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine guitarist)–included sets from some of the biggest names in hard rock and metal including from Alice in Chains, Anthrax, Gojira, Guns N Roses, Halestorm, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Metallica, Pantera, Rival Sons, Slayer, and Tool, along with All-Star segments with special guests Adam Wakeman, Andrew Watt, Billy Corgan, Chad Smith, David Draiman, David Ellefson, Jake E. As with previous records, Oden, the Norse “all father” who is a deity of war, wisdom, death, magic, and poetry, is the through-line in Amon Amarth‘s lyrics and artwork. Once again, Oden is the band’s inspiration, but The Allfather Awakens is not a concept album, rather a collection of historically inspired epic tales of conflict and sacrifice for a greater good.
The Allfather Awakens includes Amon Amarth‘s first-ever acoustic excursion “Upphaf” which carries the solemnity of an oral history whispered under the shadow of the Allfather. The album’s following singles “Gjallarhorn” and “Eight Legs of Thunder” arrived as furious Amon Amarth classics. Amon Amarth took a new songwriting approach for The Allfather Awakens. The album came to life across two recording sessions, months apart, at producer Jacob Hansen’s studio in Denmark. Amon Amarth began writing songs while touring, rather than waiting until they were off the road. The writing and recording process allowed the musicians to intensely focus on each track, resulting in an album where each song was treated as a single. Guitar-wise, Amon Amarth opted for a slightly less modern approach sonically, moving away from 5150 amps and back to Marshalls. The music was written before the lyrics, setting the tone for the words.

Michale Graves, best known for his time as the frontman of the legendary horror punk band Misfits, has announced a new run of tour dates spanning late 2026 and early 2027. The upcoming shows will bring Graves to stages across the country, featuring a mix of live performances and dates on his “Everybody Love Everybody Acoustic Tour.”
“John 13:34 Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. Everybody Love Everybody is more than the name of this tour-it’s a message I believe we desperately need right now. Jesus said, “Love one another; as I have loved you, you are also to love one another. ” That’s the heart of what I want to share on this tour.
I build the experience around the music that I know my fans love and want to hear. I love to tell some of the stories behind the songs and share in the connections to it all.

The newly announced dates kick off October 30 in Los Angeles, CA, followed by a Halloween performance in Oxnard, CA. Desertfest is an international beacon of heavy music for over a decade now, since the foundation of an collaborate idea in 2012 by STEAKguitarist Reece Tee, starting DESERTFEST LONDON and by Matte Vandeven – bassist of My Sleeping Karma and founder of Sound of Liberation – promoting the first DESERTFEST BERLIN. Since then the festivals grew in scale and so did the Desertfest family, with independent festivals rising from the stoner underground all over the world in Norway, Belgium and the USA. Not as affiliated sub-festivals, just established by like-minded people, who’d give blood to push the heavy underground music scene just like Matte and Reece have all those years.
DESERTFEST BERLIN had it’s own journey, starting in 2012 with the first edition’s opening night at the legendary old Festsaal Kreuzberg, which tragically burned down about a year later as well as Astra Kulturhaus, which has opened the festival doors until 2017. Before a mandatory break during the epidemic the festival sized up to the larger Arena in Treptow in 2018 and 2019 with two absolute massive festival editions, before finding it’s new home in 2022 at Columbia Venues, where the festival grew to the legendary scene gathering we know today.
For many years the festival is promoted in collaboration with the local agency Greyzone Concerts. But already since it’s inception DESERTFEST BERLIN is a dark sanctuary to heavy music fanatics coming to Berlin from all over Europe with the most sought after bands of the entire heavy music spectrum blessing the DESERTFEST BERLIN stage each year, like SLEEP, ELECTRIC WIZARD, SAINT VITUS, PENTAGRAM, FU MANCHU, YOB, UNCLE ACID & THE DEADBEATS, ORANGE GOBLIN, RUSSIAN CIRCLES and BRANT BJÖRK, just to name a few.
Besides the legends, DESERTFEST BERLIN always highlights a wide range of bands from the genres stoner, doom, sludge, desert rock, heavy blues, psychedelic, progressive as well as heavy rock and always shines a spotlight on the heaviest scene favorites and hottest newcomer bands in the scene, because it’s all about keeping the scene alive!
