Ozzy & Black Sabbath‘s massive farewell concert Back To The Beginning is coming to theaters worldwide. The film will run for a limited time starting October 28, 2026, featuring a compilation of the numerous performances from the massive lineup at Villa Park in Birmingham.
Tickets will go on pre-sale on Thursday, September 24 – with a trailer also promised.
Back To The Beginning was many things; an opportunity to say goodbye and thank you for Ozzy, for the band, and for the fans.Sharon Osbourne previously commented:
“Back to the Beginning came about because I asked Ozzy what would really make him happy,” says Sharon Osbourne. “And he said the only thing that would make him happy was if he could perform again and say goodbye to his fans. That’s all he wanted to do.”

“The Masters Of Reality – Why Black Sabbath Matter” will be the title of the first official Black Sabbath book, set to be released in October 2026. The announcement was made one year after their major farewell concert, Back To The Beginning, in Birmingham, thereby continuing to honor the band’s legacy. The work is expected to span over 550 pages, with its content ranging from the band’s early years in the ’60s all the way to that very farewell concert. Additionally, fans will find rare photographs and previously unpublished memories from the band’s incomparable history. Among other things, it will feature essays by Geoff Barton and Dave Ling—two journalists from the rock music scene—including interviews exclusively conducted with Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward.
Along with the book’s official announcement, it was shared that work on the project began two years ago and that its release had already been planned for the period following Back To The Beginning.
Renowned photographer Ross Halfin commented on it:
“Ozzy and Sharon wanted the book out soon after the final show in Birmingham but Ozzy suddenly passing away caused the music world to stop. Ozzy was fully involved with the book and he signed the book plates months before the final show, as did all the band members. So now, we all thought the time was right, one year after Back to the Beginning, to announce the project. A book we all feel celebrates both Black Sabbath and Ozzy and illustrates just how important they are. I hope fans enjoy it.”

A total of three editions of “The Masters Of Reality” are set to be published by Rufus Publications. These include the Standard Edition, a limited Super Deluxe Signed Edition, and a Super Deluxe Signed Metal Edition with only 200 numbered copies.

It serves as a definitive live document of the band’s rejuvenation, proving that the iconic riff still makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, nearly thirty years later.

The collection marks the first time the complete Live From Radio City Music Hall performance appears on vinyl, and features eight tracks making their vinyl debut, including studio recordings from The Dio Years and select live performances. The Blu-ray expands the set with video from Live From Radio City Music Hall and Neon Nights: 30 Years Of Heaven & Hell – Live at Wacken, plus band interviews.
The set follows the band’s reunion run, beginning with their triumphant 2007 New York performance, Live From Radio City Music Hall, followed by the Top 10 studio album The Devil You Know in 2009, and the live album Neon Nights: 30 Years Of Heaven & Hell – Live at Wacken, recorded later that year on tour in Germany.

Neon Nights: 30 Years Of Heaven & Hell Extras: 30th Anniversary Interviews
On July 5, 2025, Black Sabbath said their final goodbye with the historic “Back To The Beginning”show at Villa Park in Birmingham. But the legendary send-off didn’t just inspire fans around the world – it also sparked the imagination of the creative team at Lego.
The result? A highly detailed miniature version of the concert has now been unveiled at the Legoland Discovery Centre Birmingham. The tiny scene includes a full stadium setup, stage, and of course – Lego versions of the band.
Each of the original members –Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward – has been lovingly recreated in Lego form. Ozzy comes with his iconic round sunglasses, while Iommi is on stage, guitar in hand and beard in place. The model is now part of the “Miniland” section, which showcases local landmarks and famous faces from Birmingham – all built in Lego.
Amy Langham, General Manager of the Discovery Centre, shared:
“Black Sabbath are true Birmingham legends, and this felt like the perfect way to honor their final hometown show. Our master builders had a blast bringing Ozzy and the band to life in Lego form, and we hope fans of all ages will enjoy this little tribute.”
The countdown is on: Black Sabbath are about to take the stage for one last time with their farewell show Back To The Beginning. But before the big night, the four founding members – Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward – received a very special honor from their hometown Birmingham: “The Freedom of the City of Birmingham” scroll and accompanying medal.
The official ceremony took place on June 28 and was presented by Birmingham’s Lord Mayor, Zafar Iqbal.
To give you some context: “The Freedom of the City” is one of the oldest civic honors in the UK, traditionally awarded to those who have made an outstanding contribution to the city. In the case of Black Sabbath, it celebrates not only their deep ties to Birmingham’s identity but also their global legacy as pioneers of heavy metal.
What the band had to say about the honor:
Speaking on receipt of the award, Terence “Geezer” Butler said: “This is a great working class city, and we’re all working class, from Aston. We weren’t given a chance when we started out, but Birmingham has always been behind us. People used to make fun of our accents, but we’re all proud Birmingham people and we love this city. It’s one of the greatest cities ever, it’s given the world so much and we’re proud to be here.”
Tony Iommi added: “It’s a great thing to receive. Birmingham is our home, and we love what Birmingham has done for us. We’ve got the bridge and the bench, things like that. We’re very grateful.”
Ozzy Osbourne said: “I first put an advert in a music store in town. If these guys hadn’t come to my door, I wouldn’t be sitting here now. It seems to have flown by so quickly. It’s amazing. I think about my dad, who went into debt to buy me a microphone. If only he could be here now. I think he would be very proud. I’m a Brummie and I always will be a Brummie. Birmingham Forever!”
Bill Ward added: “It’s completely overwhelming. I’m so proud to be an Astonian. That’s where I got my attitude. It was a blessed – and cursed! – to meet Tony when I was 15, and I’m so proud that I got to know Geezer and Ozzy. They’re my brothers. I love them very much and we love our city very much.”
We congratulate Black Sabbath on this incredible honor and wish them a powerful and unforgettable final show on July 5.

Dream Line-Up – and Some Honest Words
In an interview with Music Business Worldwide, Sharon also revealed that two bands they had really hoped to include couldn’t make it:
“There are two bands we would’ve loved to bring in, but they couldn’t do it because they’re working that day. One was Judas Priest, a local band, and the other was Angus Young from AC/DC, because he’s always been a huge supporter of Ozzy.”
