HORSE OF TROJA Release New Official Video ‘Night Ride’

Swedish hard rock metallers HORSE OF TROJA have released their official music video for ‘Night Ride’, watch it below.

One of our favorite songs, with lots of melodic parts in a driving uptempo beat. A great live song with lyrics about embracing the night and living in the fast lane at your own terms and conditions.

In any case, Horse Of Troja has a rather nice style and the first thought goes to RAINBOW during the 80s when the not entirely too pronounced guitar arrangements have some Blackmore over them while the keyboard fills in very nicely.  The tough uptempo punk that has given the record its name is a real smoker of the «Spotlight Kid» class, but the band also has heavier veins that can be heard in, among other things, the PHENOMENA-scented «No Mercy» and the opening track ‘Leaving’.

CIRKUS PRÜTZ have released the official lyric video for “Only Rock’n’Roll”. The song is taken taken from the news studio album “Blues Revolution” of the Swedish blues rockers which was released on 29 July by Metalville Records.

Watch below this really funny video.

When was the last time you heard a blues-rock record that paid tribute to the Ramones and Lemmy alongside Howlin’ Wolf and Chuck Berry?

On their new album “Blues Revolution”, Cirkus Prütz want to disarm the world with the combined support of blues and love.

With their roots in blues, hard rock and punk, the band is not afraid to break the rules. No one tells them what they should or shouldn’t do. They push the limits and break new ground. .

Cirkus Prütz take us from their Swedish home without detours on a hot road trip through Texas with Queens Of The Stoneage, Muddy Waters and ZZ Top on the car radio.

All songs on “Blues Revolution”” were composed by the band together. As was the case with 2019’s previous album “White Jazz – Black Magic”, guitarist Franco Santunione (Electric Boys, Glory Bells Band) took over the production.

It’s bluesy, it swings and it’s in the here and now.

EMBRYO Sign with Rockshots Records for New Album “A Vivid Shade on Misery” Ft. Drummer George Kollias

Rockshots Records is proud to announce their signing of Italian melodic death metallers EMBRYO for the release of their fifth album “A Vivid Shade on Misery” on March 17th, 2023. For the album’s recording, the band recruited international drumming powerhouse George Kollias (Nile).

The fifth full-length follows the band’s 2017’s “A Step Beyond Divinity” (Art Gates Records), 2015’s Self-Titled (logic(il)logic Records) that featured Fleshgod Apocalypse’s drummer Francesco Paoli, 2010’s “No God Slave” and their 2006 debut “Chaotic Age“.

Since the band’s inception, Embryo has toured across Europe with Melechesh, Keep of Kalessin, Tribulation, Nile, Immolation, Ragnarok, Monuments of Misanthropy, and Suffocation along with performing on festivals such as Masters of Rock (CZ), and Total Metal Festival (Italy).

Embryo began writing their 5th offering in 2020 with George Kollias and entered the Domination Studio in July 2021 with producer Simone Mularoni, and engineer Simone Bertozzi.

Monolithic, intense, powerful, technical, and melodic this new album features eight brand new tracks and is another concept album like its predecessor “A Step Beyond Divinity”. The band is inspired by historical Italian figures of the Renaissance era and their tormented lives, their absolute genius, and the gifts they gave to the world. While the previous album “A Step Beyond Divinity” was inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci, this new work is totally inspired by Michelangelo Merisi alias Caravaggio, an Italian painter active in Rome for most of his artistic life.

“With “A Vivid Shade on Misery” we want to have listeners dive into our world by giving them brutal and atmospheric music melted together in the way we love to do plus having Kollias drum on this new album, one of the best drummers in the world, is just an absolute honour. Overall, fans will find this album has the “Embryo” matrix, there’s no doubt about that. It will be a more direct record and its songs make up a pattern that takes the listener on a journey through torments and anxieties, but which at the same time gives him pure energy.” adds the band.

Track Listing:
1. Pride – 3:58
2. Highest Fame – 4:19
3. Darkest Lights – 4:01
4. The Seed of Lividity – 4:02
5. MMDC – 5:04
6. Medusa – 4:18
7. Vanitas – 3:59
8. Concrete Visionary – 3:29
Album Length: 33:13

A Vivid Shade On Misery album credits:
The album was recorded in July 2021 @ Domination Studio – San Marino
Technicians: Simone Mularoni, Simone Bertozzi.
Mixed and Mastered by Simone Mularoni.
Drums recorded @ George Kollias Studio

From the band’s first album “Chaotic Age” (2006) to today, Embryo‘s music has evolved over the years. On the first record, they were more brutal and messier, now their compositions are much more “thought out” and brilliant. If they had to use one word to describe their compositional evolution they would say “sharp”.

Recommended for fans of Strapping Young Lad, Meshuggah, Fear Factory, Death, and Dimmu Borgir, Embryo will be sharing singles and videos in the coming months in lead up to the record’s release.

To hear their previous releases, please visit Spotify and YouTube.

Current Line-Up:
Roberto Pasolini – Vocals
Eugenio Sambasile – Guitars
Simone Solla – Keyboards
Gabriel Pignatta – Bass
George Kollias – Drums (guest)

SYMPHONY OF SWEDEN Release Special Christmas 1 Octave Challenge, ‘You Raise Me Up’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on December 20, 2022

Even though SYMPHONY OF SWEDEN‘s latest song has just been released, that doesn’t stop them: the band has decided to treat their fans with a special Christmas present. However, this time it wasn’t Linus “Lee” Wester who hold the microphone, but the band’s keyboardist/producer, Pontus “Evan” Hagberg.

Evan’s statement: „It all started when Lee and I were in the studio, playing some random YouTube videos for each other, and suddenly Lee showed me Tommy Johansson’s (Majestica, Sabaton) one-octave challenge version of “You Raise Me Up” where he sings well, pretty high… I found it really cool and said to Lee, I can sing that high as well easily, I added with a smile…
However, to be honest, it was not that easy but starting more like a joke we decided to go on and have me for the lead vocal on this particular track, and the timing was great as Lee is still recovering from some vocal issues he has had for the last couple of weeks. But needless to say, this is a one-time only thing that I am singing the lead. Then I will be happy doing backing vocals behind Lee again. So don’t worry, Lee will keep singing the lead on all forthcoming Symphony Of Sweden tracks. I promise!

Actually, ‘You Raise Me Up’ has a very interesting story that I have been mesmerized about over the years. The melody for the verses is identical to an Icelandic song called Söknuður even though the original Icelandic composer Jóhann Helgason got no credits for it. Also, a friend of mine Åsa Jinder did very beautiful Swedish lyrics to the song which has been released by several popular Swedish artists. So, ‘You Raise Me Up’ has been circulating around my mind for years!

I started recording the song with the vocals and I didn’t take it too seriously, however after listening to the vocal took the day after I thought, maybe this could be something. I sent an e-mail to Henrik Bodin-Sköld that eventually, he must help me add electric guitars to a cover song in the coming days if the vocals will sound good…
I listened to the vocals once again and decided I could do it better… So, I did it better and sent a version to Henrik with some instructions that I wanted him to go wild in the last choruses, with shredding and all kinds of metal power…

First I used pre-recorded drum loops but now that the arrangement turned out to be pretty serious I wanted to record our own drums of course. I wanted the fastest metal drummer in Sweden for the task but I had no idea who to call, so I asked Henrik, and he said to give Jon Skäre a call, he is really fast! Lo and behold, I already had Jon Skäre as a Facebook friend and I sent him the track and asked if he was about to visit my town in the near future to record the drums in my studio. He replied he could record it himself in Stockholm and also include a video take… Wow, what a service! So, being short of time if releasing it before Xmas, Jon Skäre should have all the credits for being super fast and helping us out with this unique cover!

Speaking of Christmas, yes this is a Xmas present to all our followers and fans! You raise us all up! Happy Christmas from Symphony Of Sweden!”

About the band

Welcome to the musical world of Symphony Of Sweden!

Coming from the North of Sweden with winter and ice bears all over the place, the music is the other way around. Grand and epic with huge arrangements, the missing link between pop and metal – this is Symphony of Sweden! Add the powerful voice of Linus “Lee” Wester and the creative talent of Pontus “Evan” Hagberg you will have a concept that brings you on a journey from here to eternity.

Symphony Of Sweden is:
Pontus „Evan” Hagberg
Linus „Lee” Wester

Evan and Lee lived in the same small town up north in Sweden. Lee had his own little service point, betting shop, tobacco store nearby which also happened to be Evan’s local service point where he went to get his parcels. After saying hello to each other for a couple of years, there was one day Evan had a parcel to get – which obviously was music-related. They fell into conversation with each other, a few days later Evan invited Lee to his studio. Evan: „he had found one of my instrumental tracks on Youtube and sang it with a new melody on top and lyrics for me in the studio, right there when he just arrived! I was blown away, and a week later we had our first ever track produced and completed. As soon he sang his first two words in the studio I wanted to work with him!”

The band released their first album, Inner Demons in January 2021, and their second album, Saints Of Yesterday came out on the 3rd of February, 2022.
