THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON, the fantastic metal quartet formed by members of Feuerschwanz,Amaranthe and Ad Infinitum, love to explore unseen lands and dive into the adventures of worldwide heroic characters. Sharing their stories with a dedicated fanbase, they now announce their debut album, Metamorphosis, out May 12, 2023 via Napalm Records. With this album, the unit around Ad Infinitum vocal queen Melissa Bonny and Feuerschwanz guitar virtuoso Hans Platz dip their soundscapes into mystical worlds, reinterpreting famous soundtrack themes and writing their own songs dedicated to their favorite characters.

Setting off to the fantastic universe of Harry Potter, the first single, “Double Trouble / Lumos! (Hedwig’s Theme)” is an expertly metallized medley mix featuring the tune of “Hedwig’s Theme”, cut from the beloved movie theme song featured throughout the entire film series, and the bewitching “Double Trouble”, taken from the third movie. The song comes along with a lavish music video and shines with additional input from sensational violinist Rusanda Panfili, who complements the mystical and eerie atmosphere.

THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON on the new single:        
“We are happy to finally visit Hogwarts with you and to show you its dark side. When we first talked about transforming “Double Trouble” we were not sure the song would allow us to do it. But strangely, combined with the classical violin and the heavy guitars, the explosive drums, the enchanting harp and Melissa’s mesmerizing voice, the magic happens! We are thrilled to have Rusanda Panfili joining us on this quest. Among other things she is a violin soloist for Hans Zimmer, one of the most famous movie score composers. Together, we created a metal cover of this legendary movie score written by John Williams.”

THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON started with a bet between AD INFINITUM singer Melissa Bonny and Hans Platz, the guitarist of FEUERSCHWANZ. Whoever lost owed the other a “dare”. Hans won and challenged Melissa to record a metal version of their latest released single “Jenny Of Oldstones”, and the rest is history! Exploring the fantastical lives of famous pop culture heroes since their childhood, the multitalented musicians transform soundtracks of worldwide known movies, TV shows and video games into powerful metal tracks on the debut album Metamorphosis. THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON don’t limit themselves to cover versions, but also include their own songs dedicated to their favorite warriors. Calling for solidarity, the harmonic “The Gates of Time” tells the story of the time traveling portals in the famous The Legend of Zelda series. Marching into the great worlds of The Lord of the Rings, the band paints the Grammy-nominated soundtrack “May It Be”, featuring Charlotte Wessels (ex-Delain), in a new light, while the mystic song “Misty Mountains” (feat. EVERGREY’s Tom S. Englund) of The Hobbit film trilogy underlines the tragic story through melodic folk vocal lines and rousing guitar riff choirs. Like the seven untamed seas, the melodies appear in energetic and rousing waves, while others head towards the shore in an exciting, elegant and soulful rhythm. Exploring the untouched sides of these multifaceted selected songs, the multinational band shifts the world famous soundscapes into new adventures which will take listeners back to forgotten times. The multi-million streamed League of Legends soundtrack theme, “Legends Never Die”, comes back to life through a stunning makeover due to the incredible vocal lines of Melissa Bonny. Five years since their much acclaimed, seventh studio album Long Night’s Journey into Day (2017), Los Angeles-based progressive metal giants REDEMPTION have announced the release of a brand new record! I Am The Storm will be out on March 17, 2023 via AFM Records.

As the album title already reveals, I Am The Storm is a gripping, stirring, overwhelming and dramatic, new offering by the power prog metal act. Combining unapologetic melodies and hooks with technicality, complexity and thundering riffs, Redemption once again occupies a unique place with its powerful, heavy, intelligent and deeply emotional music.

“The life of a human being is many things, among them an ongoing stream of challenges and opportunities. Redemption belongs to one of the leading progressive metal bands in the heavy music world today. Formed in Los Angeles, California in 2000 by guitarist / keyboardist / songwriter Nicolas van Dyk, the band features iconic vocalist Thomas England of Evergrey, the rhythm section of Chris Quirarte (drums) and bassist Sean Andrews, as well as keyboard phenom Vikram Shankar.

I Am The Storm was produced by Nick van Dyk and sound engineer/guitarist Simone Mularoni (DGM), who – alongside Chris Poland (ex-Megadeth) and Henrik Danhage (Evergrey) – will be also featured as a guest musician on the album. DISASTER THEORY Drop Eerie Cover of ‘Cry Little Sister’ Feat. Vocalist’s 7-Year-Old Daughter Railyn

7-year-old Railyn the daughter of DisasterTheory’s frontman Mark Thomas makes her vocal debut in the band’s rendition of ‘Cry Little Sister’ the theme song of the movie ‘Lost Boys’. The Pittsburgh Nu-Metal act makes their return after their notorious collaboration with rappers Marshall Mathers and Swifty McVay on their song ‘Overcome’.

Mark Thomas had this to say about ‘Cry Little Sister’;
‘It’s really not a song we ever thought we would do. My wife ultimately wanted us to do it because it’s a song she really likes and it would give my 7-year-old daughter Railyn the opportunity to officially be on a released track. She has always wanted to be a singer but has never really had an outlet for that until now. Ultimately I think it turned out pretty well.’

DisasterTheory utilizes fast-paced riffing on ‘Cry Little Sister’ while still maintaining the original eerie atmosphere of the original version. Railyn’s beautiful singing in the chorus is what makes this rendition of the goth rock classic unique. It’s the ingredient that makes this song even more creepy while breathing new life into it. Railyn’s involvement in her father’s band inspired her to pursue a career in singing and releasing her own music in the future.

Like the approaching holiday season, the release of the annual Noble Demon label compilation has turned into a festive tradition itself! Now three years old and growing steadily, the German label has proven that they came to stay. Founded by former Nuclear Blast veteran Patrick Walch and with a steady stream of new signings from all around the world, Noble Demon has been able to quickly establish itself within the metal community. As a gesture of gratitude to all loyal fans and supporters of the label, Noble Demon just released the annual “Noble Demonic Metal” sampler, which includes 25 tracks of the label’s eclectic artist roster and gives a perfect overview of the variety of bands the label has to offer.
