SNOWY SHAW Releases New Single ‘Devil’s Child’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on October 18, 2022
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Snowy Shaw. Leave a comment

In 2021 Renowned multi-instrumentalist & vocalist SNOWY SHAW took upon himself to record and release 1 single song per month digitally through all streaming services, and then after X-Mas of that year came the whole collection on full-length double LP & CD under the moniker of “This is Heavy Metal, plain & simple” + several bonus tracks.

Every song was done separately in Snowy’s Hellhaus Studio and each song featured a special guest-star appearance (or more) This album was in essence a tribute to the music that formed and shaped our lives and therefore he took upon himself to invite an array of his teenage heroes, living legends, former bandmates and friends to participate on specifically selected tracks on vocals, duets or with a guest guitar solo etc.

Anyhow, now it’s been a while and he thought it’d be a good idea to also put out the aforementioned bonus tracks as a digital EP, slightly modified and remixed, but after some consideration he opted to repeat a similar method as with the 12 songs. So here we’re looking at 5 separate single releases roughly every 3 weeks until X-Mas 2022!

All music & lyrics written, produced, recorded and performed by Snowy Shaw. Mixed by Fredrik Nordström, Johan Forsman and himself. As usual all the designs and artwork were done by Snowy himself.

This week we have “Devil’s Child”

Snowy himself adds:

“Devil’s Child Is a song I’ve had lying around since 2006 intended for one of my many other former bands, and that I now finalized during the pandemic where I also invited one of my childhood heroes, the female rocker Suzi Quatro for a guest appearance duet. One of the main lyrical lines is “Can’t you see – the Devil in Me” which coincidentely was the title of her new album which may have caused confusion and conflict of interest according to her label. Instead the female counterpart in the duet landed on the impressive German rising star Elli Berlin, who did an amazing job. Happy ending”.

Devil’s Child is available on all streaming platforms right now!

THE WRATH Release New Single ‘Wrong Side’

In their tenure as one of Australia’s most high-energy and well-respected punk/rock acts, THE WRATH have broken down barriers between genres, both sound wise and visually, with conviction.

The new single from The Wrath ‘Wrong Side’ is now available on digital platforms via Riot Records.

Stream/buy ‘Wrong Side’ HERE

The Aussie goth punks are officially back in the land of the living with their latest single, ‘Wrong Side.’ Embracing snippets of punk, rock and psychobilly, ‘Wrong Side’ finds The Wrath firmly doing everything right, with their trademark energy and snarling charm bouncing at every step, while also lyrically commenting on the wild ol’ world we all continue to live in.

ABOUT THE WRATH

It is the rare band who can stand the test of time to truly say that they have the staying power that The Wrath do. Sixteen years in the business and they are still provoking mayhem everywhere they tread. They are the mainstays of Australian punk/rock.

Beginning their journey in hazier days of the Australian music scene in 2003, they have covered the Australian map and have stapled their turf in every town – now they are inciting their riot once again with fresh sticks, new tunes and hot gigs…

Whether they have founded their identity upon many genres or just simply defied a specific genre’s permanency is yours to decide, but they continuously dominate venues with bands vastly diverse within the punk, rock, metal, rockabilly, hardcore, goth and industrial realms.

2015 saw the much-anticipated 2nd full length album Disillusions and Resolutions roll out smoothly with impressive responses from industry doers and once again brought The Wrath’s main arteries to pump at full force with a new sexy backbeat. Recorded by Sid Constantine, mixed by Govinda Doyle and mastered by Mathew Gray; the hybrid combination captured with quality truly showed that the music was worth the wait.

The first single ‘Misgivings are Through’ came at listeners like a bull out of the gate and set the pace for a return to touring and doing what The Wrath do best. Followed up with a politically charged film clip for the single ‘Blood On Your Hands’ coinciding with The Wrath’s first International tour playing across several prefectures in Japan and making many cool and crazy friends along the way. Look out because no doubt we will be rocking your way again soon – Australia, Japan and now sharpening their claws for future European haunts…

The Wrath are Tommy Creeper – a maniac on the mic – his darkwave vocals aren’t just filled with passion, they are laced with old-school crooner style. The guitars of the crew are looked after by Spectre Deano and the deadly Carina Acquarola. The sound is then anchored to the grave by the super-charged rhythm section of Jordan Miller on drums and The Count on double bass.

Over the years, The Wrath has carved their own niche in the Australian music sub-culture world that has seen them gain respect from bands and audiences alike. They have shared the stage and kicked out the jams in venues with likes of The Misfits, The Meteors, Tiger Army, Nekromantix, Good Riddance, Supersuckers, No Use For A Name, T.S.O.L., Lagwagon, The 69 Eyes, Pulley and I Killed the Prom Queen just to name a few.

Their reputation as a cracking live act earned them many spots on festivals around the country including the famous Big Day Out in 2007 right through to the latest Dead of Winter Festival.

LUFTWAFFE Take Flight After 37 Years, Remastered 1985 Album “The Cardinal Sin Sweep” Out in November 2022

For those who stray from convention, look outside the box or color outside the lines, Heaven and Hell Records presents you with LUFTWAFFE.

The band would be unheard of by most people unless you were one of the people who got the chance to see this enigmatic band on the Upstate New York club circuit around Utica. Between the years 1982 to ‘85 the live performances of LUFTWAFFE are said to have been a chaotic spectacle of destruction, burlesque and rock n’ roll.

Around the end of 1981, songwriter and guitarist Bob Acquaviva was looking to start a new band. Acquaviva had unusual ideas for this new venture, but he needed to find like-minded people to realize his vision for the project.
Acquaviva would call upon his old friend Tim Gilles to see if he would be interested in a new endeavour. Gilles was an incredible drummer and all-around musician. He was also a fan and influenced by progressive rock artists such as Gentle Giant, Gong and Henry Cow; this would prove beneficial to the fledgling band.

Acquaviva already had a bass player in mind named Paul St James who could do the job required. Within a couple of weeks after the three would first get together, they would begin to audition singers. Many notable local singers would try out for the position, but none were quite right. Eventually, Acquaviva came across a young guitarist who he felt had a voice and could be just what the band was looking for. Dave Wolfgang Von Slife would become the eccentric and idiosyncratic frontman of the band. The band was now complete.

Now, the band would need a moniker. But not just any name, but something powerful, something grandiose. The band wanted to make an impression and take over the Upstate New York scene. After a few, over-the-top suggestions, were made, they would settle upon LUFTWAFFE. The word meaning ‘air force’ seemed large and strong. The name would be inspired by all the members’ fandom of German heavy metal and hard rock bands such as Accept, Scorpions and MSG.

Both Acquaviva and Giles were keeping an eye on the growing popularity of heavy metal. They decided to take the band in that direction. They would also bring in their shared influences of progressive rock and jazz. What they would create would be a unique and somewhat hard-to-describe hard rock band. Several names such as; Budgie, UFO, Scorpions and Tank would sometimes be suggested in an attempt to try and describe LUFTWAFFE. Yet those names would barely scratch the surface. The band’s weird themes, sometimes Zappa-esque lyrics and odd time signatures would only complement the bizarre live shows.

LUFTWAFFE would gain a reputation over the few-year course of the band and build something of a cult following in the area. By 1985 the band decided to record the album’s worth of songs they had written while they had the chance to do so. What resulted was an 8-song full-length album that would be shelved for the next 37 years.

LUFTWAFFE would end in 1985 not long after the recording sessions. The band would perform their biggest concert and that night while onstage simply made the flash decision to go in a different direction with the band,. And just like that LUFTWAFFE was no more.

After many years LUFTWAFFE’s 1985 album “The Cardinal Sin Sweep” will finally be released for the first time as a limited edition CD. All songs have been remastered from the original recordings by Bob Acquaviva. Artwork created by Steve Cobb. The release is scheduled for November 2022.

Synthwave Electronic Rock artist BATTLEJUICE and retro rockers LeBrock join forces once again for this latest reforging of electronic rock and synthwave with industrial metal with their new single “Dust.”  Full of drive and eighties-inspired leads, featuring a powerhouse vocal performance from LeBrock laced with ominous pulsing synthesizers, and heavy thrashing guitars, for an overall dynamic atmosphere “Dust“, is an anthem for those questioning our very purpose in tumultuous times with tensions around the world rising. “Dust” is a message that reverberates across time, space, and generations. What have we become?

“Full of drive!” states Battlejuice. “Dust” combines the power of guitar riffs, melodic vocal lines, and lyrics that reflect the unsettling state of the world today.”
