MIST OF MISERY Unveil Second Single ‘The Long Road’

Swedish symphonic black metallers MIST OF MISERY have unveiled “The Long Road”, their second single taken from their upcoming album “Severance” to be released via Non Serviam Records on November 4th 2022.

“‘The Long Road’ is the second chapter of the concept album ‘Severance’.  It’s quite an unusual song for Mist of Misery and differs a bit from the other tracks of the album. Yet the grandeur of the orchestral arrangements really stand out here with the harpsichord, glockenspiel, wind instruments and choirs”, comments the band.

Recently the band released the first single “Into The Embrace Of Winter”:

“Severance” will be released as CD and digital. The pre-orders of the new album are available here:
CD:  https://www.non-serviam-records.com/products/mist-of-misery-severance
Bandcamp: https://non-serviam-records.bandcamp.com/album/severance

“Severance” is the first MIST OF MISERY’s concept album, and it tells a tragic tale which takes place in 19th century rural England. It is filled with melancholy, grief and despair.

The band explains: “We are aware that it differs quite a bit from our previous albums but the core elements of Mist Of Misery are still very much present. We hope that it will satisfy our old fans and also bring in new fans. All the tracks for ‘Severance’ were written specifically to fit the story of the album as it is a concept album. Therefore we had to carefully match the atmosphere of the story and the individual songs as the story unfolds. The writing came naturally but we obviously had to carefully decide the order of the songs”.

“Severance” Track Listing:
1 – An Ode to Solitude
2 – The Long Road
3 – A Sombre Solace
4 – Into the Embrace of Winter
5 – A Wasted Life
6 – Through Night’s Gloom
7 – Oceans of Grief
8 – Severance
9 – Reflections
10 – Towards the Descent

MIST OF MISERY was formed by Mortuz Denatus (VANHELGA) in 2010 in the northern suburbs of Stockholm with the vision to create music that was based on melancholy, darkness, depression and atmosphere. The band released the EP “Bleak Autumn” EP, followed by the full-length album by the same name in 2011. The EP “Temple Of Stilled Voices” saw the light of the day in 2013. MIST OF MISERY released their second full-length entitled “Abscence” in 2016 which showcased the progression the band had made since their early days. Thanks to its blend of atmospheric black metal and symphonic and depressive elements, the album was very well received around the world getting tremendous reviews. Before its release, Livsnekaren had joined the band on drums and was soon followed by Tenebris (ex-VANHELGA and ex-GRÁ), who joined the band on bass for various live performances and later became a permanent member in 2017.

The band followed up the critically acclaimed album with two EP’s in 2017 entitled “Shackles of Life” and “Fields of Isolation”. The following years MIST OF MISERY performed at festivals in Bulgaria, Germany and Wales as well as various gigs in their own home country while writing their next album. The epic and grandiose double record “Unalterable” (2019) displayed the band’s evolved atmospheric sound. It garnered much praise and paved the way for another evolution in the soundscape of MIST OF MISERY, which was made evident when the band began working on a new album, along with the new singer Änglamakaren (Night Crowned).

The writing of their new effort took the band’s symphonic sound to new heights. MIST OF MISERY finished the recording of “Severance” in early 2022 and soon signed with Non Serviam Records, with a planned release on November 4th 2022.

MIST OF MISERY are
Änglamakaren – Vocals
Tenebris – Bass
Mortuz Denatus – Drums

Kane Churko’s Vegas studio was on the route so we tracked vocals there. ‘Mama’ is a beautiful anthem about emotional repair, a message we all connect with. Our version has some new flavors but still stays true to the classic.”

GOTHMINISTER Drops Music Video for New Single ‘Star’

Next Friday, October 21, 2022, will see Norwegian dark and industrial metal act Gothminister release their hotly-anticipated, new album “Pandemonium” via AFM Records. Following previously-released songs, “This Is Your Darkness”, “Demons” and the haunting album title track, today, the goth ministers have dropped a final music video ahead of official album release, for new single “Star”!

While the first clips and singles were part of a trilogy about the dark and evil Gothminister kingdom, “Star is about how lonely life can be for a rockstar or a celebrity, especially when your career has come to an end,” says band mastermind Bjørn Alexander Brem. “Think of a dying star in the horizon and you get the picture. This song is about the loneliness, separation and the feeling of emptiness which also many others might relate to. But hopefully this song also will cheer you up with its punchy guitars and driving beats. And remember: you are not alone, and Gothminister plans to be in the scene for many more years to come! So now just get out on the dancefloor and rock!”

Get the song on all digital platforms HERE!

With his captivating debut ‘Gothic Electronic Anthems’ in 2003, Gothminister Bjørn Alexander Brem took the dark music scene by storm, unleashing a thunder of pitch-black magic. Powerful metal riffs march relentlessly arm in arm with huge orchestras and heavenly choirs, while the master himself reveals an astonishing range of vocal art: from the deepest gothic-dungeons up to the higher spheres of steaming rock. It’s the overwhelming combination of catchiness and darkness; a thrilling craft of composing within the marrow of gothic, industrial-metal and electronica, that became Gothminister’s trademarks ever since.

Tracks such as “Devil” (Gothic Electronic Anthems), “Monsters” (Empire of Dark Salvation, 2005), “Darkside” (Happiness In Darkness, 2008), “Liar” (Anima Inferna, 2011), “Utopia” (Utopia, 2013) – the last single from the CD/DVD horror movie concept album which even reached the national finals of the Norwegian Eurovision contest – or “Ich will alles” and “We are the ones who rule the world” which both entered the Top 10 of the German Alternative charts followed by an extensive tour with ASP, proved that Gothminister belongs to one of the most enthralling dark metal acts of modern times. Their new album, “Pandemonium”, will see the light of day on October 21, 2022 via AFM Records, the pre-sale is available at THIS LOCATION!

Album Tracklist:

  1. Abgrund (Abyss)
  2. Pandemonium
  3. Demons
  4. Star
  5. Sinister
  6. Kingdoms Rise
  7. Bloodride
  8. Norge
  9. Run Faster
  10. This Is Your Darkness
  11. Mastodon
