SEETHING AKIRA Release New Single ‘Reason To Breathe’

Defiant six-piece nu-metal rockers SEETHING AKIRA announce their much-anticipated third album Nozomi releasing on November 11 is now available for pre-order from FiXT.  The next track off the pre-order campaign is the album’s nu-metal, metalcore, ballad “Reason To Breathe.” The single is an introspective vision of how the birth of a child can be life changing. Featuring a passionate vocal performance from Seething Akira, alongside thoughtful and hopeful lyrics, the track takes on a far more serious vision for the band. Pulsing rhythms, and synthesizers that push a surreal atmosphere in the background, laced over heavy guitars, create a beautiful vision of a father pushing to higher heights and protecting his newborn daughter.

“Reason to Breathe is about how another human being arriving into another’s life can drastically change the course of their existence,” states Seething Akira. “The birth of a child, influencing the need to aim and achieve higher than ever before, providing the child with opportunities and hope for their own future.”

Nozomi features twelve supercharged tracks across a dynamic mix of metalcore, nu-metal, and hard rock soundscapes with thrashing guitars and brutal, melodic, and infectious vocal hooks. From the hard-hitting track “Punishment Instructions,” the nu-metal single “Internal Antagonist”, the rap/rock anthem “Something In The Water,” all the way to the more introspective metalcore single “Lost At Sea,” the album is an intense journey through the human condition and its response to hope.

Explosive. Bombastic. Defiant. Intense. Seething Akira continues to rock on with their gloriously turbulent nu-metal sound towards their next album, Nozomi. Hot off the editorial success of their last album Dysfunctional Wonderland and with recent appearances at the Heavy Music Awards 2022, TECH-FEST, the Hammerdown Festival, UK TechFest, Amplified Festival 2022, the Free Road to Derby event, an appearance at Apocalypse Summer Bash at Bristol, headlining at Southampton, and a recently featured single on the hit Meta Quest VR game Smash Drums with “The Fallen”. With the announcement that they are joining Confession Of A Traitor on selected dates for their UK tour, Seething Akira is not slowing down any time soon.

Seething Akira have developed a gloriously turbulent sound that is uniquely their own. Founded by vocalists Charlie Bowes and Kit Conrad, Seething Akira are a 6-piece electronic nu-core band hailing from the seafront city of Portsmouth, UK that have been tearing venues apart across Europe with their powerful fusion of genres since 2012.

The band’s first full-length album, Sleepy Skeletor, dropped in 2018 and made it clear that Seething Akira would be a force to be reckoned with in the years to come. In late 2020, the band launched a series of new singles leading up to their second album, the highly anticipated Dysfunctional Wonderland. With the strength of the band’s music and their popularity with fans rocketing skyward, they connected with the electronic rock label FiXT and forged a partnership for their future releases.

Seething Akira has been featured on the Rock Hard Spotify editorial list, while their single “Firepower” landed on Kerrang Radio and Scuzz. “I Am The Devil” and “The Islander”  were both featured on BBC Introducing, and “The Islander” premiered on Soundsphere Magazine.

At home and on the road, Seething Akira have also put their stamp on staple festivals such as Bloodstock, Victorious, Camden Rocks, and many more while touring with bands like The Qemists and The Algorithm.

Recently Seething Akira have been releasing new singles throughout 2022 for their next album while blazing a trail across Europe on tour.

SOEN Release Spellbinding SLIPKNOT Cover ‘Snuff’

The engaging, enchanting, cutting, yet beautiful Swedish metal supergroup SOEN have released the mesmerizing video for their interpretation of Slipknot classic, “Snuff”. The track is taken from the forthcoming release ATLANTIS, out via Silver Lining Music on November 18th, 2022.

Founding members Martin Lopez and Joel Ekelöf explain their selection of Slipknot’s deeply dark meditation on darkness rejecting love “Snuff”: “We wanted to do something extra special during the ATLANTIS concert. The obvious path would have been to pick an epic progressive song from the likes of Genesis, Pink Floyd etc. Instead, we went for the opposite with ‘Snuff’, a scaled down and brutally honest song that we all love in its powerful sincerity.”

ATLANTIS is a special concert film featuring thirteen of the group’s most popular compositions reinterpreted with live orchestral accompaniment. ATLANTIS was created within the mystic and magical confines of Atlantis Grammofon Studio in Stockholm, Sweden, which has seen a wide range of international artists record, from Quincy Jones to Lenny Kravitz to Green Day. Formerly a movie house in 1941, it went on to become Metronome Studio (during which time ABBA was born) before becoming Atlantis Grammofon in 1983.

Filmed and recorded on December 10th 2021, Martin Lopez (drums & percussion), Joel Ekelöf (lead vocals), Lars Enok Åhlund (guitars & piano), Cody Lee Ford (lead guitar) and Oleksii “Zlatoyar” Kobel (bass) worked together with an 8-piece orchestra to reinterpret and rediscover fresh energy and elements in classic Soen songs, such as “Antagonist”, “Monarch”, “Jinn” and “Lucidity”. The end result of this 80 minutes performance is some remarkable new aural refractions of Soen’s greatest material for fans to absorb and enjoy. As has always been the way with Soen: the deepest dives yield the greatest treasures.

The first track released from Soen’s “alternative utopia” was their piece “Trials”, which can be streamed/watched this location

Following the success of the IMPERIAL European Tour, the relentless metal quintet is preparing to embark on a twenty-date North American Tour this winter, kicking-off at Chicago’s Lincoln Hall; the tour will also see Soen perform as special guests of Katatonia in Dallas and Austin on December 6th and 7th. The band are excited to be on the road again and show no signs of slowing down in their quest to bring the Soen experience to the world.

“It’s a dream come true to finally be able to do an extensive North American tour,” enthuses Lopez. “It’s a milestone for any band to tour a continent with such a rich musical history and we are very excited about finally getting to meet our North American audience. See you all there!”

VLTIMAS/Former MAYHEM Guitarist Reveals New Band RUÏM, Debut Album Coming in 2023

Peaceville is proud to reveal the signing of RUÏM for a forthcoming masterclass in unnerving and eerie black metal brutality, set for release in 2023.

RUÏM was formed by the iconic former Mayhem guitarist, Blasphemer (Rune Eriksen), in early 2020, driven by a firm desire to revisit the style of music he has dedicated himself to and been associated with since the mid 90´s. Inspired by the rediscovery of a long lost tape of old, unused Mayhem-era riffs (post Wolf’s Lair Abyss) the concept of starting a new project based around these ideas manifested itself quickly, and a new vision was born for an album deeply immersed in Brazilian witchcraft and the left hand path of the Umbanda tradition, a practice in which Blasphemer himself is taught in.

Accompanying Blasphemer on the journey is up and coming drummer César Vesvre (aka CSR), a French musician involved with bands such as Agressor and Thagirion, among others.

Blasphemer comments: “Forged over 2 years of lockdown and global panic, the result is a vicious and pitch black take on the genre I started my career in back in the mid 90’s. With hints to some of my past works as well as a leap into the unexplored, this conceptual offering is not only a personal journey, but also a celebration and a dedication to the linha da esquerda… and everything therein.

Details on the debut album to be released on Peaceville Records will be revealed shortly. Stay tuned!

RUÏM is:
Blasphemer – Guitars, Bass & Vocals
CSR – Drums

Brazilian Folk Metal Icon BRUNO MAIA Releases Soundtrack for Revolutionary MMORPG Game

Transport yourself to a world of magic and adventure with the beautiful melodies and medieval moods of the official soundtrack of “Tales of Shadowland”, conceived by the brilliant and creative mind of BRUNO MAIA.

Known mainly for his work with Brazilian Folk Metal band TUATHA DE DANANN, founded in 1994, Bruno Maia embarked on a new project, which has everything to do with the Celtic and Medieval music, main inspirations of him.

The creative musician was invited by Uzmi Games to compose the score for a revolutionary project, the MMORPG “Tales of Shadowland”, probably the biggest and most ambitious of its kind developed in Brazil.

Composed of 8 songs, the soundtrack was recorded and produced by Bruno Maia, at Braia Studios in Varginha/MG. A multi-instrumentalist, Bruno played keyboards, guitar, viola, bouzouki, double bass, several flutes, banjo, bodhran in addition to singing.

The songs also featured guest appearances by Leandro Caçoilo (Viper, Caravellus) on “Dreyah’, Mannu Saggioro (Soulspell) on “Gohrar'” and “The Calm before the Battle”, and Julie Gonçalves on “The Calm before the Battle”.

In the songs, we hear diverse influences that permeate the musician’s career and fit perfectly into the concept of the game, ranging from Clannad, Steeleye Span and Planxty, through Jethro Tull, Blind Guardian and Blackmore’s Night to Wardruna, Faun and Omnia.

The track ‘Great Battles’ had lyrics written by one of the creators of the game, André Ferreira, in honor of one of his partners in the game who died a victim of COVID-19, a fact that ended up delaying the crowdfunding campaign and consequently the launch of the project.

The soundtrack of “Tales of Shadowland” is available on the digital platforms, and It can be checked and purchased at Band Camp at THIS LOCATION.

To listen on Spotify visit the THIS LINK.

The music contained in the soundtrack has everything to please fans of the musician and his main band, as well as supporters of the Celtic and medieval sounds of groups such as Blackmore’s Night and Blind Guardian.

This partnership between the musician and the game’s developers will certainly bring results for both in the future, as it will arouse the curiosity of admirers of Bruno’s work in the game, as well as MMORPG players will get to know the music of one of the main composers of Brazilian Metal/Folk Metal.

About the game, “Tales of Shadowland” is a Brazilian MMORPG developed by Uzmi Games, a studio founded by director André Ferreira and youtuber Douglas Mesquita. The acronym MMORPG stands for “Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game”. Promising to bring back the golden age of MMORPGs, the game is inspired by the classics of the genre, but with modern graphics, #ToSMMO is an open world medieval adventure. The release date has not yet been announced.

For now, follow information on Uzmi’s official platforms and channels and travel to the worlds of Shadowland through the mystical and magical track composed by Bruno Maia.

FILTER Release Highly Anticipated Single ‘For the Beaten’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on October 14, 2022
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: FILTER. 1 Comment

“For the Beaten” is the latest single from platinum-selling alternative-industrial rock band FILTER and is available digitally via Golden Robot Records now.

This release is nothing short of classic Filter and exactly what hardcore fans of the band have been anticipating for over 2 years. “For the Beaten” showcases Filter founder Richard Patrick’s signature tenor screams coupled with the band’s unique chugging guitar riffs.

The track gives insight into the material Filter has been working on during the pandemic, and what is expected to come with the release of a new album in 2023.

“For the Beaten” features longtime Patrick collaborators Johnny Radtke on guitar and Elias Mallin on drums, as well as newcomer Zack Munowitz, who co-wrote the song and plays guitar. The song was co-produced by Brian Virtue and was mastered by Grammy Award-winner Howie Weinberg.

In addition to releasing the song digitally, Filter have released an official lyric video for “For the Beaten” with entrancing graphics to compliment the song.

Stream/buy ‘For the Beaten‘HERE

The release of “For the Beaten” comes a few weeks after Patrick was invited to join Nine Inch Nails for a special fan day Q&A at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The following night TrentReznor had Patrick and other former and current NIN band members join him for a special performance at the Blossom Center in Cleveland, OH, where the band was originally formed. The expanded NIN performed such staples as “Eraser,” “Wish,” “Sin,” “Gave Up,” “Head Like a Hole,” and a cover of Filter’s 1994 monster hit, “Hey Man Nice Shot.”

The once-in-a-lifetime event saw a wide range of media coverage and fan buzz, particularly around what Richard Patrick has been up to – well, here is your answer.

Choosing the first single to release and represent a new album cycle is a tough decision but ultimately “For the Beaten” was how the band wanted to introduce this era to the fans with Patrick explaining “We chose ‘For the Beaten’ as the first single because it’s dynamic, dark, and heavy, just like the moment we are in. I look forward to working with Golden Robot and can’t wait for everyone to hear the full album.”

This release is the first for Filter under the Golden Robot umbrella with CEO and President Mark Alexander-Erber expressing his excitement at what Filter has created, commenting “‘For The Beaten’ is exactly why we wanted to worth with Richard Patrick; classic Filter from the first beat to the last note. He give it everything and we are super proud to be involved.”

“For The Beaten” is available worldwide digitally now via Golden Robot Records with an official lyric video live on YouTube.

ABOUT FILTER

Patrick’s career is a vision of multifaceted creativity, which he has delivered throughout his 30+ years producing music professionally through his band Filter, various collaborations, side projects, super groups, scoring films and writing for soundtracks.

Patrick’s initial foray into the public eye was as Nine Inch Nails’ first touring guitarist. Patrick had met NIN’s founder Reznor in the late ‘80s in a music store in Cleveland. The two became close friends and then bandmates. Patrick played with the band from 1989-1993, appearing in numerous music videos including “Down in It,” “Head Like a Hole,” “Wish” and “Gave Up.”

Filter’s debut album Short Bus was released in 1995 and went platinum, largely due to the success of their first single “Hey Man Nice Shot.”  The follow up, 1999’s Title of Record, also went platinum driven by the huge crossover success of the song “Take a Picture.” Filter’s third album, The Amalgamut, is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year. The album spawned such classic songs as “Where Do We Go from Here” and “American Cliché.”

In 2006, the Army of Anyone project – a supergroup led by Patrick with Dean and Robert DeLeo of Stone Temple Pilots and Ray Luzier of Korn – came to light, releasing one album and a tour before each went back to their respective bands. Patrick refocused on Filter, releasing Anthems for the Damned in 2008, The Trouble with Angels in 2010, The Sun Comes Out Tonight in 2013 and Crazy Eyes in 2016, and two singles in 2020.

Patrick is in the middle of recording a much-anticipated new Filter album (set to release in 2023 on Golden Robot Records). He also continues to score films, produce, write, record, and collaborate with other musicians in all musical genres.
