SATAN TAKES A HOLIDAY Announce New Album ‘Satanism’ for 2023, Unleash First Single ‘Feel My Love’

Addictive, straightforward, tough, ironic and dead serious at all once – get to know SATAN TAKES A HOLIDAY. The Swedish stalwarts have revealed details of their upcoming new album “Satanism”. Set for release in spring 2023 on Despotz label, Satan Takes A Holiday headed into the legendary Studio Ingrid with Johan Gustafson (The Hives, Randy) and long-time collaborator Alexander Idfalk to reignite the flames behind their mix of rock’n’roll and 60’s garage with their love for dark contemporary pop.

The result of that reinvention is effortlessly displayed on their pumped-up new single “Feel My Love”.  Channeling elements of dark-wave straight from the get-go, “Feel My Love” invites you to strut through a neon-lit night after being pushed to your limits- a tear on your cheek, your chest bursting with love. Powered by a heartbeat baseline and competitive frenetic drumming, the  elevated electronica allows for respite as Fred Burman details the frustrations of fatherhood and the fear of doing the wrong things, remorseful of mistakes made out of love.

Listen on all major streaming services here

“Feel My Love” is the first single taken from the upcoming album “Satanism” – the follow-up to 2019’s “A New Sensation” album and 2017’s “Aliens” album, both of which saw them pick up TV soundtracking credits with the singles “Set Me On Fire” (as recognised on Netflix’s Lucifer) and “The Beat” (on Fox’s Gotham). These two previous releases saw Spotify support in the form of additions to All New Rock, New Noise, Rock Rotation, The Rock List, Most Wanted Rock and New Music Friday.

A spectacular addition to Satan Takes A Holiday’s impressive back catalog, “Satanism” is the band’s most upfront and arresting albums to date, dealing with topics of grief, sleepless nights, parenting, violent confrontations and final showdowns while inviting you to dance, riot and reflect. It is quite simply, Satan Takes a Holiday distilled into their purest form, making for one hell of a soundtrack. The new album sees the likes of artists Emmon, (Patrik) Von Arfve, Andreas Hourdakis and David Park jump on board and join Satan Takes A Holiday on this crazy new trip.

“Satanism” track listing:
Follow Me To The Desert
All Nighter
Feel My Love
FBL MND
Sky And Me
You You You
No Friends In High Places
The Sound I Like
Make A Boy A Man
Traps!
I Am Become
Island Is Man

As the world went into hibernation, sprawling Swedish rock outfit Satan Takes A Holiday had to find opportunity in isolation – to open every window while doors were slamming shut. The band hunkered down and meditated, reflected on where they had been, where they were and where to go next. The lemons were turned into lemonade, spiked with Jack and sweat. Aesthetically, conceptually, tonally; where there previously had been artistic boundaries, suddenly none remained. Songs, sounds and grooves that had seemed off limits and intimidating were now temptingly calling to be explored. Intoxicated, frustrated and ready to dance, the stage was set for the bands most playful yet sincere, thoughtful yet utterly audacious album to date.

Satan Takes A Holiday grabs you by the neck and doesn’t let go until you shake your butt to the point of beverage spill. With their mix of rock’n’roll, 60’s garage and 70’s groove as well as a clear love for the darker sides of modern pop Satan Takes A Holiday will make you move, and then move some more. In addition to the TV credits, Satan Takes A Holiday have enjoyed recognition from radio stations such as BBC 6 Music with godfather of Punk Iggy Pop and consistent playlisting from Sweden’s P3, earned praise from press outlets such as Classic Rock/Louder Sound, Ghost Cult Magazine, Rock Hard etc. and have played alongside legends such as the likes of Kiss, the Sonics, Mustasch, Juliette Lewis, Backyard Babies and Imperial State Electric all while holding their own.

Satan Takes A Holiday is now firmly held as one of the best live bands in Sweden, a fixture at festivals and venues around Europe and a phenomenon few have missed.

GREEN KING Launch Second Single ‘Where Speedian Dwells’ from Debut Album

Finland’s GREEN KING launch the single “Where Speedian Dwells”. The single tells the true story of Green King kicking out violent nazis from their rehearsal space. A true heavy metal attack, “Where Speedian Dwells” offers thrilling guitar harmonies, chugging riffs, and gutsy vocals communicating a strong anti-nazi message. The single is the second one leading up to Green King’s debut album “Hidden Beyond Time”, which will be released on The Sing Records on the 16th of December.

Listen to “Where Speedian Dwells” through your favorite sreaming platform or right here:

Green King explains the story behind “Where Speedian Dwells”:
“This song is equally a love-letter to our old practice place called “hellhole”, and equally our antifascist anthem. Hellhole was a smelly basement complex in an old industrial building where people used to party a lot. The song is partly about that place and our love for all the drunken times we’ve spent there.

There’s a line in the song that says “hole caused”. There’s a backstory for that. One time these black metal youngsters, who had their practice room upstairs from our ‘hellhole’, asked if they could do a gig in our place. There was this huge hall in the basement next to our rehearsal rooms and they wanted to play the gig there. Of course we said yes because we wanted to hear these young dudes play black metal. However, it turned out that the audience they brought along were a bit too much into national socialism. There even was this older guy in full SS uniform. Needles to say we weren’t too happy about that and started to kick them out. Like in the movie “Anchorman”, things escalated pretty quickly. With some help from our friends in a band called Baltimor, we finally managed to kick those nazi scums out.

That incident gave this song a whole new meaning, we gave the nazis their own medicine at hellhole, the “holecaust”. The song is called “where Speedian Dwells” because we didn’t want anyone to mix it up with the term “holocaust” so we changed the title and the lyrics. The title is also a reference to those many, many drunken nights spent in our beloved hellhole.

Long story short, this song is about kicking some nazi ass while doing drugs in hellhole. Let this song be our antifascist anthem, our own “Nazi Punks Fuck Off”.“

Green King are:
Eliel Salomaa : Guitars and vocals
Lauri Lyytinen : Guitars
Heikki Nyman : Bass
Otto Bigler : Drums

Black metal masters MGŁA will embark on a full-scale six-week tour of the Old Continent that will visit over 30 towns and cities. The Polish black metal stalwarts will be joined by New Zealand death metallers Ulcerate as special guests. Support will come from Mord’A’Stigmata (Poland) and Sisyphean (Lithuania).

Following successful numerous appearances at, among other, Psycho Las Vegas, Gefle, Alcatraz and Hellfest festivals and the Balkan tour last month, this new tour will visit two-thirds of Europe, covering the far North, as well as reaching the Atlantic coast. It will kick off in Lublin, PL on Nov. 2nd and end on Dec. 11th in Leipzig, DE.

This will be the last European tour of Mgła in support of their latest full-length album, “Age of Excuse” (No Solace, 2019). Atmospheric black metal act Sisyphean, hailing from Lithuania, will be supporting during the first leg of the tour. The band will be presenting its latest release from Transcending Obscurity Records, “Colours of Faith”, which has been hailed by Heavy Blog Is Heavy as “one of the most well-performed and articulate black metal records” of the year. Mord’A’Stigmata from Poland will be the support act during the second leg of the tour and will be promoting its highly-anticipated sixth studio album from Pagan Records, “Like Ants and Snakes”, which will be released on 4 November 2022. It follows from its last release ”Songs for the Exiles (Live At Roadburn 2019)” captured live at the esteemed Roadburn Festival in 2019.
