Ukrainian band ZAVOD (Заводь) return with their new album “Berezol” (Березоль) to remind listeners of the genre what real uncompromising black metal is. The lyrical contents of the release are images of merciless war woven into patterns of symbolism and abstractions. Ukraine’s war against Russia could not but affect the band, whose musicians are now actively engaged in volunteer activities, collecting money for humanitarian and military needs. Because everyone understands the price of freedom.

All 6 tracks of the album “Березоль” have different moods but are united by one theme and a feeling of surrounding gloom. The guest vocals for the track “Трансгенезіс” were recorded by the legendary figure of alternative art – Jamie Stewart from Xiu Xiu.

This album will be interesting not only to fans of black metal, but also to those listeners who are full of dark feelings and are looking for light in themselves and the world around them.

SEASON OF GHOSTS Release New Single + Lyric Video ‘In Hubris’

UK-based electronic metal band, SEASON OF GHOSTS, has just released new music! “IN HUBRIS” was mixed & mastered at Fusix Studios, Italy (Delain, Frozen Crown) and is the second consecutive release of Season of Ghosts’ upcoming 2023 album.

“IN HUBRIS” bears testament to the inevitability of crisis in human existence and society as a consequence. Committing to similar themes as those observed in “The Great Unknown”, released in August ’22, as well as older tracks like “What a time to be alive”, In Hubris balances intently between human imperfection and the proverbial beacon of hope.

Season of Ghosts emerged in Tokyo, Japan, as the side project of former Blood Stain Child singer, Sophia Aslanides. Later, the formation was completed by Zombie Sam on guitar and more recently, in 2022, by Lordt on drums and Tomas Eduardo on bass. The band is currently based in London, UK.

Danish sludge metallers GRAVA are gearing up for the release of their new album “Weight of a God”, which will be coming out on November 28th 2022 via Aesthetic Death.

Songs seen through the eyes of the dying.

GRAVA spew forth a maelstrom of angst-ridden, emotive sludge – which emanates from a hardcore foundation and mentality.

Sludge heaviness, hardcore intensity – bleak desperation. Short tracks, that just sound dense, blackened and ugly – which are written and delivered with a real soul – just one that has been emptied of colour and hope. Amidst the blunt brutality there are brief interjections, moments of paradoxical beauty. Soon extinguished.

Every song on the album is an attempt to portray a human being’s meeting with death. Inspired by historical narratives but also by happenings closer to the band, actively pursuing those moments through their music and lyrics. The resulting music has been expressive, fragmented and painful – you will find no complete narrative in the lyrics or musical structure, only the bits and pieces of the world…. as seen through the eyes of the dying.

“Weight of a God” is not an easy experience. It takes time to ingest and come to terms with the album. However, anyone who takes the time to become at one with these tracks will discover an album which urges repeated listening.

Hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark – GRAVA only formed in 2020 but feature ex-members of Whelm amongst their skilled personnel.

WAYNE STATIC Featured in Shock Rock Movie Teaser

Following the announcement of the new project Shock Rock Movie, directed by Lord Zane and Dagon Destroyer a teaser has been released giving a short glimpse into what’s to come. The clip features never before seen footage of Wayne Static commenting on Lord Zane’s world record for longest body suspension.

“It was just one of those surreal days. I’m hanging six hours with fours hooks breaking the previous record held by Cris Angel and Wayne is there for most of the day. We’re talking, taking pictures, he’s giving interviews about Static X and his thoughts about me. It’s amazing that we found this footage and how perfectly it fits into the film” said Zane

The second month of filming in December is currently being scheduled
between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Various known artist’s within the music industry will be giving their thoughts about the shock rock genre for the film.

Dagon had this to say regarding the production so far, “Wayne Static was one of my heroes growing up and it’s an honor to be able to make a movie that includes never-before-seen footage of him. The first month of production has been surreal and our crew has been extraordinary. December’s schedule is going to be total mayhem. We’ll be filming interviews and sequences with iconic figures in Los Angeles and Vegas.”

Female fronted Metal act DEATH & LEGACY are more than ready to conquer the scene with the release of the new outstanding video for the track “Damned”, including the collaboration of the vocalist Björn “Speed” Strid from swedish metal titans Soilwork.

This five-pieced Melodic Death Metal combo leaded by the charismatic growler Hynphernia uncover with this release the first single extracted from the upcoming opus “D4rk Prophecies”, coming out on April 14th 2023 via Art Gates Records worldwide.

The video has been directed by David Romeu from Winner Horse Productions and you will be able to see the band performing their skills in full force.

The band takes inspiration from the structures and elements of classic Metal with the extreme and modern vibes of the scene’s newest generation, blending neck breaking riffs with clean and screaming vocals & growls from the abyss.

Pre-Production and recording has been done in V3 Studios in Madrid by Manuel Acilu and in Tercera Planta Studios by Manuel Ramil.

Public Sales for the eleventh voyage of 70000TONS OF METAL, The Original, The World’s Biggest Heavy Metal Cruise, will start Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 12PM EST (9AM PST, 18:00 CET and respectively 17:00 GMT).

Round 11 will sail from Miami, Florida to Bimini, Bahamas and back from January 30 – February 3, 2023 on board the Freedom of the Seas.
