KRILLOAN came into the power metal world with a bang in 2021. Their debut EP ‘Stories of Times Forgotten’ – full of high pitch vocals, soaring guitar solos and thundering drums – made a direct impact on the metal community.
Following the path of the true Gods, they aim to go straight for the heart when it comes to power metal – that is, fast, melodic, anthemic and epic stuff.
‘Emperor Rising’ is written around classic fantasy themes as well as the far future and Krilloan – based around the Swedish guitaristKlas Holmgren – have one goal and one goal only in mind: to bring back the power in power metal with hard-hitting, sing-along, fists-in-the-air hymns!
KRILLOAN is: Alex VanTrue – vocals Klas Holmgren – guitar Steve Brockmann – guitar Marco Toba – bass Cristoph Brandes – drums
‘Emperor Rising’ is set to be released on December 9th via Scarlet Records.

British rock band KING CRIMSON is the subject of an anticipated new feature documentary titled “In the Court of the Crimson King, King Crimson at 50”, which is releasing in select U.S. theaters on October 19th and getting a worldwide one-night-only digital event release on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2022, to follow its world premiere at SXSW in March. Check out the Official Trailer HERE.
Directed by Toby Amies (The Man Whose Mind Exploded), “In the Court of the Crimson King, King Crimson at 50” began as a straightforward documentary about the cult rock band King Crimson as it turned 50, and became an inspiring and humorous exploration of time, death, family, and the transcendent power of music to change lives.
“This elegant, intimate, funny and surprisingly moving film covers every aspect of the group — from its thorny interpersonal history to the almost religious loyalty it inspires in fans — and lays out exactly what makes Crimson such a singular and enduring musical force.” – Rolling Stone
“…really about as good as rock documentaries get” – VARIETY
King Crimson have always pioneered their own uncompromisingly independent route, and this documentary, 4 years in the making, has followed the same path with a one-night-only worldwide theatrical release (theater list can be found HERE) and a live worldwide digital event, which will be introduced by Robert Fripp and followed by a Q&A with Fripp and band members. Fans can tune in via the nugs.net platform HERE or view On Demand for a 24 hour period thereafter.
“A grown-up film about working players living, dying, laughing, playing…” – Robert Fripp.
‘In the Court of the Crimson King’ is not only a film about a group that has been creatively active for 50 years. It’s a film about music, why it matters, and the painful sacrifices artists have to make in order to create work that changes people’s lives, but with jokes.
ABOUT King Crimson
KING CRIMSON was formed in the Fulham Palace Café on January 13th 1969. The album In The Court of The Crimson King was released on 10th October 1969.
Over the following 53 years, the band has constantly re-invented itself. Having reformed in 2014 the most recent line-up featured Robert Fripp (guitar), Mel Collins (saxophones & flute), Tony Levin (bass, stick and backing vocals), Jakko Jakszyk (guitar & vocals), Bill Rieflin (keyboards), and drummers Gavin Harrison, Pat Mastelotto and Jeremy Stacey – who doubles on keyboards.
FORTRESS UNDER SIEGE formed back in 1992 by Fotis Sotirpoulos (Guitars) and John Vasilakis (Guitars) after the split up of the traditional heavy metal band GLADIATORS. With the addition of Michael Smeros on vocals and Nick Dedes on drums and guest musician Aris Matheakakis on bass, on December 1996 released their debut, self-titled mini CD, a release that had a great impact at that time and still considered to be one of the best progressive power metal releases from a Greek band.
The next releases where: The Mortal Flesh Of Love (CD) – Metal Mad Music – 2011, Phoenix Rising (ft. Hannibal) (CD) – Steel Gallery Records – 2014.
Overcoming all drawbacks, FORTRESS UNDER SIEGE, entered Devasoundz Studios, Athens Greece, with producer Fotis Benardo, and although the tough decision to replace the singer Mike Livas almost at the end of the recordings and record all vocals right from the beginning had to be taken, the band manage to deliver the heaviest album of its history. In this album entitled “Atlantis”, Tasos Lazaris shifted from guitars to vocals while Themis Gourlis joined the band as the new rhythm guitarist. “Atlantis” released through ROAR Rock Of Angels Records, on October 9, 2020.
In this album is included the homonymous song “Atlantis”.
Toronto-based alt-rock band BRKN LOVE are pleased to announce their new album Black Box in the midst of their busy touring schedule. It will be released on November 4 and is available for pre-order here.
The band has shared the video for “Under the Knife.” Watch it here.
After the success of their Vol.1 and Vol. 2 EPs, the trend continues with the band’s sophomore album, which once again showcases how well songwriter/frontman Justin Benlolo uses all the tools in his arsenal to firmly position BRKN LOVE in the young, modern rock revolution.
Benlolo says, “We couldn’t be more excited to announce the release of our new LP Black Box. This album is the next evolution of BRKN LOVE. Imagine everything you loved about our band and then turn it up to 11. It’s truly a milestone record for us. After the release of our first record and all the complications that came along with it (namely the pandemic), we really wanted to a chance to redeem ourselves. This is our redemption record. We’re back at full force and we’re not pulling any punches this time.
“Making this album was a challenge unto itself. We had come off the back end of several tours and essentially had two weeks to write, record and mix the album. They say diamonds are formed under pressure, and I believe that the added weight forced us to come up with the best songs we have ever written.
“The overall theme revolving around Black Box is the concept of learning from your mistakes and bettering yourself because of them. When we were writing the record, our producer Anton Delost and I had become obsessed with flight recorders, that are put into airplanes to keep track of anything that happens. The idea came from how the people will assess a plane crash by what the black box has recorded. It’s a metaphor for our band, our lives and everything we have been through up until this point.
“We truly hope you enjoy this piece of music as much we do. Make sure you turn it up and as always, rock on. Thank you.”

For this record, the band recruited several high profile and like-minded artists to feature on the songs.
The band has shared the video for “MODERN META MEDICINE.” Watch it here. The track features Killswitch Engage vocalist Jesse Leach.
“Let’s be honest, in a world and cultural climate that reaps division and sows a void of nuance in our conversations, writing a record that challenges a healthcare system that puts profit before people can be scary,” the band says. “But an opioid crisis, miracle cures for our weight, our skin, the hair on our heads, a limp dick, and then the simultaneous denial of access to healthcare for the bodies of pregnant people, the poor, Black and immigrant communities is a stark contrast that must be discussed.
“At the crossroads of where business models and our healthcare intersect, the for-profit model has beyond proven it is unsustainable. And the fact that these corporations have preyed openly upon the most vulnerable in our society with very little push back has only opened the doors wildly for the conspiracy theorist, instead of allowing us to globally celebrate science, progress and the advancements of our healthcare.
“MODERN META MEDICINE’ looks to trace back the origins of capitalisms takeover of our health as global citizens, the Reagan era policies that allowed for billionaires to flourish off of the suffering of so many. Healthcare is a human right, and we need to steal our rights back from a machine that sees us as commodities and profit margins, however we can.
“We are grateful to Jesse Leach from Killswitch Engage for lending his talent and empathy to this track. Since becoming friends we’ve had a few great conversations on this topic so we knew he would be perfect for this, and holy shit did he deliver.”

INDECLINE, who shot the video, also commented, “In a feedback loop of self-referential information, it’s hard to sort out any kind of accountability. The moment of epiphany is often washed away in the tidal wall of think pieces, hammering truth into sophistry, our sense of identity into marketing campaigns. Music is powerful, like all art, because it hinges on the truth of the moment, something felt first. We feel, personally, that health is the point of being alive, not a luxury good to keep the markets accelerating toward a concentration of wealth in the hands of an emerging class of cynical billionaires, who would burn the planet to build their rocket ship out of here.
“The Black Panthers understood that health is the first step in community, and community is the first step in change. We won’t argue about resources; in a world of cruel excess, we are sure that a little organization and empathy in the dispensation of what we already have would make a difference in the quality of life for everyone. So, imagine a world in which quality was preferenced over quantity. Or rather, over empty dollar signs. Imagine measuring our markets in the effect they have on those who participate in them instead of the intangible math of growth. We would have a different health care system in that world. What would it look like?
“‘First, do no harm’ has never been an excuse to do nothing. It is a challenge to think about the deeper consequences of how we dispense care. It doesn’t cost us anything to think about it, but it costs an awful lot not to. We are grateful to Anti-Flag for giving people music that allows them to think about what really matters. This is actually a love song. But the love is available equally, for everyone who is willing to accept it. That’s our hope for health care, too.”
Lies They Tell Our Children was recorded, produced, and mixed by Jon Lundin.

Season of Mist is proud to announce the signing of EXOCRINE! The French technical death metal masters have been kicking in heads since their arise in 2015!
When you think of death metal filled with flying tempos, technicalities and brutality to the max, EXOCRINE is your best friend!
EXOCRINE comments on the signing: “We can’t say how proud we are and what an honor it is to join Season Of Mist! They have supported so many iconic bands that are part of our influences in many different styles. SoM is the perfect platform for our music, and we can’t wait to work with them and start the composition of our next album! We will stay true to ourselves while innovating and SoM totally puts us in confidence for that and for the future!”
The band just released its fifth full-length, ‘The Hybrid Sun,’ which can be streamed HERE for a glimpse of what’s to come!
EXOCRINE With the release of the the Bordeaux-based group EXOCRINE’s first album ‘Unreal Existence’ in 2015, the band found their way into the world of technical deathmetal. The release of ‘The Hybrid Suns’ in 2022 is their career-defining fifth record, a concept album studying the voyage between life and death, and showcases a jaw-dropping level of musicianship. Continuing to push the boundaries of extremity and precision playing, Exocrine are the bridge between the ferocity of ARCHSPIRE and CRYPTOPSY, and the potent progressive leanings of OBSCURA and GOROD.
The band comments: “‘The Hybrid Suns’ is the first titular offering, introducing a new concept with a complex narrative frame to set the tone for the forthcoming album. As usual we have paid particular attention on the technical aspects and the speed, however this time we’ve pushed harder on the epic side of things to create a more grandiose sound!”
