THE VENDETTAS Release New Single ‘Long Gone’

‘Long Gone’ is a blues infused rock track and the latest hit from THE VENDETTAS, available digitally now via Golden Robot Records.

This song hooks you in straight away with an atmospheric howl of guitars. There is a dark undertone in its lyrics and themes of an opportunity missed and moving on from the past.

Even though somewhat emotive in their delivery, the vocals really punch their message through, as the slick lead guitar breaks flash in and out effortlessly. The bass line is infectious in its groove especially in the verses, all held together by the solidly monstrous drum sound The Vendettas are well renowned for.

Stream/buy ‘Long Gone’ HERE

‘Long Gone‘ follows a familiar theme of a relationship tousled into chaos, masked in a catchy tune that almost lets the true nature of song slip to the sidelines as the listener is forced to tap along to the beat and become engulfed in this classic Vendettas track.

ABOUT THE VENDETTAS

The Vendettas are a guitar driven, straight up rock band from Melbourne, Australia.

Known for their signature tones and vocal melodies, there is also a clear influence from all the greats of this genre (with a definite Stone Temple Pilots / Black Crowes / ‘Exile On Main St’ type vibe) in their music.

The band has been a part of Melbourne’s rock scene for more than 10 years, mastering their craft to every beer soaked wall and sticky floor the town has to offer.

In recent times, the boys spent almost a year writing vigorously and tightening the ‘pre-prod’ screws, before hitting the studio late in 2018 to record their third album.

These studio sessions were all captured live and raw, with one main objective in mind…to produce a piece of audio that represents what the band sounds like in the flesh, with all dials cranked to 11.

In 2019, The Vendettas went from strength to strength, securing their first international support with Danko Jones (Canada), while continuing to build their presence in the local scene, doing what they love, belting out rock n roll, the way it should be!

Lead Vocals – Steve Redden
Guitar / BV – Jared Mattern
Bass – James Rogers
Drums – Rick Van Der Meer

ALONG THE LINES is a metalcore band out of Thunder Bay, ON, Canada that is gearing up to release their debut EP “Our Dear Finale”. The seven-track EP has 24 minutes of songs that hit hard, lyrics that pop, and a dramatic story that is based on a story from one of their good friend’s experiences with domestic abuse. They already have two singles out: “Sanguine”, which is powerful, catchy, and substantial, it completely turns the story around. “Mute” approaches the common feeling of wanting to tell someone a secret but not feeling like they can be trusted, accompanied by heavy breakdowns and a bridge that pulls it all together. The band comments on the EP:

“We are absolutely stoked to finally release something we have been holding back this whole pandemic. We started in 2019 and have been working hard and keeping it under wraps for far too long! We wanted this EP to be presented to fans to listen and not just hear the music, but also become part of the whole story that is unfolding with each song from front to back.”

Along the Lines formed pre-pandemic with hopes to hit the scene as soon as possible. The band was initially the project of guitarist Tanner Bell, who had reached out to long-time friends and former bandmates of a previous project; Austin Baxter, Greg Vahaaho, and Brady Geurts (Drummer, bassist, and guitarist respectively). After some searching, the group later connected with another long-time friend, Jonathan Reid, to fulfill the role of vocalist. Unfortunately, the band’s plan to hit the scene as fast as possible came to a halt as the COVID-19 pandemic forced bar closures (among many other things) only days before their debut show. The band instead got to work on more writing and also recording their debut EP. They say that the evolution between the previous band’s sound and what’s coming up on “Our Dear Finale” is an incredible departure.

They are just getting started with this debut, they are currently writing their LP, which promises to be more heavy breakdowns and catchy rhythms. Emotionally, the music and lyrics bounce off each other to give a storytelling effect. Influenced mainly by metal, metalcore little bit of post-hardcore too, they are recommended listening for fans of Ice Nine Kills, Famous Last Words, and Beartooth. The EP comes out on October 8, 2022 and will be available on Alongthelinesband.bandcamp.com, Apple Music, Spotify.

SLUGCRUST Share New Music Video ‘Ecocide’

Following on from their recently released debut album, Ecocide, South Carolina grind band SLUGCRUST have today shared a new music video for the full-length’s title track. The clip is a viscerally raw visual of the band performing in a foreboding woodland area, with unsettling handheld footage of vocalist Jesse Cole bounded in black fabric.

Stream Ecocide via Apple Music, TIDAL, Deezer, Bandcamp and Spotify
Order Ecocide here.

Speaking on the music video, SLUGCRUST comment: “Our good friend Taylor Hickman directed the music videos for both Echoless and Ecocide. We first approached Taylor with a lot of complex themes to digest from the song and project into film, accented with intense captures of our performance. But eventually we said “fuck it we’re gonna do this shit DIY and raw” because that’s just who we are as sentient dirt-people.

“So! We filmed Echoless in a garage lined with $200 worth of black fabric and then reused the same black fabric as a prop to help tell the story behind Ecocide, which we filmed in the woods for reasons apparent.

“How well the Ecocide video thrives in simplicity speaks volume to Taylor’s vision as a cameraman. Nevertheless, the aforementioned black fabric can now be found under our vocalist’s ass, lining the cushions of his sofa as a couch-cover because $200 is $200 and who keeps a fucking receipt? We hope everyone likes the music video! We can’t wait to play Ecocide for y’all real soon!”

With two ferocious EPs already under their belts, the breakneck speed with which SLUGCRUST operate gives a fair indicator of their approach. However, their focus isn’t compromised by their accelerated work ethic; if anything the urgency of their message is given further impetus courtesy of their relentless audio violence. Drawing from various literary inspirations the political issues at the heart of SLUGCRUST’s output is given a darkly poetic twist.

SLUGCRUST – whose line up features members of WVRM – seeks to bring political issues to light in a way that galvanises action and activism. The title derives from the process of destroying environmental structures or ecosystems, either via natural means or – as is more pertinent in the case of this album – deliberate human actions. Depravity is a recurring theme throughout the lyrics; emotional and physical immorality and degeneracy permeates the twelve tracks that make up Ecocide.

The formation of all SLUGCRUST tracks start with the skeleton of the drums; the meat and muscle of each missive comes from the guitar and bass, with the lyrics and vocals being the skin binding it all together. The album was engineered by guitarist Derick Caperton, before being mixed and mastered by Cody Davidson of Sanguisugabogg. Although primarily embedded in grindcore, SLUGCRUST also dabbles in crust punk and even doom to bring together their ominous, explosive take on extreme metal. Embracing the rawness of punk with the familiar ferocity of blast beats is the foundation of their work.

Ecocide is an uncompromising calling card from a band eager to unleash.

Ecocide tracklist:
1. Demise Promise
2. Drag Me to Agony
3. Buzzard Czar
4.  No Heirs / Dead Souls
5. Echoless
6. Arachno-Mariticide
7. Petrochemical
8. Scoundrel / Wraith
9. Swamp Mind
10. Juris Domina
11. Ecocide
12. Event Horizon

SLUGCRUST is:
Jesse Cole – Vocals
Derick Caperton – Guitar
Brett Terrapin – Drums
Stacey Williams – Bass
