HEXED have released the new lyric video for the title track of the band’s new album “PAGANS RISING”, released worldwide today! Watch the video below.
The Swedish Symphonic Progressive Metal band HEXED is back with their second album “Pagans Rising”. Along with the powerful lead vocals of Tina Gunnarsson, this theme album definitely has great songwriting mixed with strong choruses and male growl. It´s a perfect blend of spellbinding guitar melodies, chugging riffs, dark symphonic orchestrations and progressive elements. It has been written with inspiration and history of Sweden’s witch-hunting hysteria in the late 17th century.
Behind the unique sound of this masterpiece is the talented mixing/mastering engineer Ronnie Björnström (Sorcerer, Meshuggah, Aeon, etc.) This release is a much heavier and darker version of HEXED. Others who have contributed to this album with their skills and professions are Jonah Weingarten(Pyramaze), Teddy Möller (Loch Vostok), Tord Diztord Bäckström (Diztord), Ronny Hemlin (Tad Morose), Giannis Nakos (Remedy Art Design) and Jens Rydén Photography.
AFTER ALL have released the official video for “Elegy for the lost”, the first single from the upcoming studio album “Eos”, set to be released on October 14th via Metalville Records.

The new album ‘Eos’ introduces vocalist Mike Slembrouck and drummer Bert Guillemont, who add an impressive dose of melody and intensity to the band’s sound.

Like every AFTER ALL album since 2009, ‘Eos’ was mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö at Unisound.

Following their critically acclaimed 2020 – s/t debut album, Swedish blackened thrash metallers SARCATOR are gearing up for the release of the band’s upcoming full-length record, entitled “Alkahest”, which will be coming out on October 21st via Black Lion Records. After the band has already released the first the first two singles “Grave Maggot Future” and “Dreameater“, the four-piece follows up today with the brand new track “The Long Lost”.
The band comments:
“The Long Lost is an experimental song but at the same time a pretty simple one. The western inspiration for this song really shines through in the acoustic intro, middle-part and outro. We wanted those parts to sound like ‘a man and his guitar doing his thing’. This song is the only one where we chose to tune down the guitars, which we thought the song demanded to show the full potential of its heaviness.“
Being only between 17 and 23 years old, the four young gentlemen of Sarcator started with Metallica covers and after working on their own material, they went to Studio-MT in their hometown to record their debut album, which was released in November 2020. Just a few months after the release they got nominated to Best Swedish Metal Group for the 2021 edition of the radio listeners award “P3 Guld”. Even if they lost out to LIK it was still a major confirmation that the band is on the right path. The music is heavily inspired by Metallica, Slayer as well as the German teutonic thrash metal wave and melodic death metal like The Crown and At The Gates. The Crown influences probably came by birth as the line-up features The Crown’s Marko Tervonen’s son Mateo Tervonen. This is the kind of death thrash that most old school fans live for.
Here and now, a few years later, the band’s second album is about to be released, showing a more mature sound as well as a greater influence from bands like Dissection and Morbid Angel. “Alkahest” will be coming out via Black Lion Records and is available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION
Swedish symphonic death metal outfit SOULDRAINER is gearing up for the release of the band’s highly anticipated new album “Departure”, which will be coming out on November 25 via Black Lion Records. After the release of the first single “Where Angels Come To Die”, the band follows up today with a brand new music video for the track “Rats Of The International Race”.
Vocalist and guitarist Marcus Edvardsson comments: It’s one of my favorite songs because it has so many elements and details if you listen carefully. The dynamics between parts are carefully thought out and sculpted so it will keep you interested and the hooky verses together with dark lyrics make the blend disgusting and perfect. Enjoy!
It is safe to say that Souldrainer have created their heaviest and most well-crafted album to date. Surely fans of the genre will not be disappointed. With thickly layered rhythm guitars, atmospheric angel choirs, string ensembles, and ripping vocals, Souldrainer create a distinct harmonic aggression that hits you harder than a brick wall in your face.
“Departure” will be coming out on November 25 and is available for pre-order HERE

About Metal Blade Records: Founded upon owner Brian Slagel‘s enduring drive to find great bands and get their music out to as many people as possible, since 1982 Metal Blade has brought wave after wave of powerful, innovative, and often genre-defining music to the ever-hungry metal masses. It is this ethos that has seen Metal Blade build up a stunning and diverse catalog, weather the various storms facing any independent label, and in an age of declining record sales boast the most successful years of its existence as it celebrates its fourth decade.
Metal Blade Records launched Metallica, Slayer, Armored Saint, Fates Warning, GWAR, Cannibal Corpse, Amon Amarth,Whitechapel, The Black Dahlia Murder, Cattle Decapitation, and dozens more genre giants, shaping four decades and counting of hard rock, metal, and extreme music culture. Brian Slagel worked as a record store clerk when he founded Metal Blade in 1982, reserving a spot for a young Lars Ulrich on his Metal Massacre compilation series. Metal Blade grew from humble beginnings in Los Angeles to become an international powerhouse, selling millions of albums while remaining fiercely independent. In 2017, Slayer‘s Kerry King inducted the label into the Hall of Heavy Metal History. Slagel’s For the Sake of Heaviness: The History of Metal Blade Records arrived the same year.
