Today, unique Swedish psychedelic rock band GAUPA is celebrating the release of its sophomore album, Myriad. It features eight diverse and exquisitely crafted songs that keep strolling around between progressive rock, psychedelic & stoner rock, doom and folk. An eclectic and unpredictable, yet very mature record by a band that is destined to win over any open-minded music enthusiast from each branch the heavy rock spectrum has to offer.

In celebration, GAUPA have released a gorgeous animated video for the album’s powerful opening track ‘Exoskeleton‘. The clip was created by Simon Hjortek who has already worked on some of GAUPA‘s previous, visually striking music videos. Here, he combined retro sci-fi with mind-bending surrealism perfectly matching the dream-like atmosphere that runs like a golden thread through GAUPA’s body of work.

GAUPA commented:
“We are extremely stoked to finally share this album with the world!  Love/ GAUPA”

Through generous corporate sponsorships by industry powerhouses Ernie Ball Strings, Guitar Center, J&R Adventures, and individual donors, KTBA has been able to offer weekly donations to music classrooms and merit-based scholarships all over the United States, reaching over 70,000 students in all 50 states through the funding of over 450 unique projects. In 2020, KTBA took its mission a step further by forming the Fueling Musicians Program, an emergency relief plan for touring musicians affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. By providing financial assistance for essential living expenses, the Fueling Musicians Program has helped over 300 struggling musicians with immediate cash payments of $1,500. KTBA plans to make the Fueling Musicians Program a permanent part of the organization to help musicians get on their feet and on the road. THRESHOLD Release Lyric Video for ‘Haunted’, New Album Out Now

Today, the UK’s masters of progressive metal THRESHOLD have finally released their 12th studio album!

Dividing Lines marks the second album since the return of former vocalist Glynn Morgan, who reunited with the band on their previous effort Legends Of The Shires (2017).

A darker album than it’s predecessor, the band have described Dividing Lines as “Legends’ darker, moodier older brother”.

Guitarist Karl Groom comments: “We’re really excited to finally get the new Threshold album out. Dividing Lines is an album we are proud of and the band cannot wait to get back to touring.”

To celebrate the album release, the band offers a mesmerising lyric video for the album’s opening track ´Haunted´.

Stream the album on all platforms: https://bfan.link/dividing-lines

Founded by guitarist Karl Groom in southern England in 1988, THRESHOLD were a unique proposition from the start. Driven forward by youthful confidence and verve, they swiftly became the UK’s premier purveyors of adventurous and progressive metal and have remained at the top of that tree for the best part of three decades. From early albums like Wounded Land (1993) and Psychedelicatessen (1994) through to more recent triumphs like 2014’s acclaimed For The Journey and Legend of the Shires (2017) the band’s reputation has been built upon the sheer strength of their songwriting, collective chemistry and fervent disregard for following passing trends. As a result, THRESHOLD are as revered and respected as they have ever been.

Line up:
Glynn Morgan | vocals
Karl Groom | guitars
Richard West | keyboards
Steve Anderson | bass
Johanne James | drums

Romanian WHITE WALLS Release New Music Video for ‘Darkness, Let The Air Flow!’

Critically acclaimed Romanian progressive metal band WHITE WALLS return with a new single and music video for the song “Darkness, Let The Air Flow!”.  The new video has been directed by Luca Nicolaescu from StaySharp Film, starring Nicoleta Lefter and Sofia Nicolaescu. As with the previous single, the artwork was created by Alexandru Daș. The song was mixed and mastered by George Lever at G1 Productions (Sleep Token, Monuments).

Hailing from the Romanian shores of the Black Sea, the progressive metal outfit White Walls was founded in 2009. The band’s sound has been associated with diverse groups, such as Leprous, The Ocean, Opeth, Tool and Karnivool. White Walls often intertwine elements of darkness and light with relentless riffs, melancholic chords and a balanced mix between restlessness and restraint.

2 Years since the release of full-length “Grandeur” the band wishes to break away from the traditional album release cycle, in order to focus more on bite-sized releases that can showcase different facets of their musicianship. After the release of the previous single, “The Gift”, the band returns with a new song dealing with a heavy topic.

About the concept behind the track Eugen (vocals) says: “ The track is about feral children, trauma, abandonment, neglect, abuse and fear. The lyrics describe the life of a feral child and how hard it is to survive on your own in the wild. In the end the child dies by drowning in a lake. The chorus is a metaphor about the fact that at birth some have everything and others have nothing. Not even the right to live. “Darkness, let the air flow” ”

About the concept of the video Luca Nicolaescu (director) says: “ The video refers to the myth of the Norns, and it is an allegorical representation of the thread of fate spinning irreversibly in one direction only, no matter how much we would wish to change its course. ”

About the music video Dasu (guitars) says: “ We have always liked to give our collaborating artists a free hand and never regretted it. Every time we are blown away by their ideas and their take on our music. It’s already a known fact that we love doing art just for the sake of it, creating thus a creative snowball that keeps on building and building on previous layers. This time, the result is a mystical video about destiny, cyclicality and the impossibility to really change anything. ”

Credits: Starring Nicoleta Lefter & Sofia Nicolaescu, Luca Nicolaescu (Director), Dorel Gnatiuc (DoP), Diana Rădulescu (Editor), Ruxandra Staicu (Color Grading), Ligia Prodan (Production), Iliana Dumitrache (Production), Cosmin Dogaru (Production), Miruna Bălașa (Costumes), Cristina Mimi (Make-up & Hair), Anca Munteanu (Art Director), Ionuț Cone (Gaffer), Radu Tudor (Electrician), Andrei Martalog (Lighting Operator), Vlad Popescu (Focus Puller), Yassen Sagha (2nd AC), Ileana Teodorescu (DIT), Raul Pipaș (Trainee & BTS), George Leața (Driver), Nedelea Gabriel Alexandru (Driver), SQUAD Rental (Camera Equipment), EVAL (Lighting Equipment), WOX (Props)

HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY Unveil New Re-Recorded Track ‘Homecoming: Denied’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on November 18, 2022

On December 9th, post black metal pioneers HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY will launch the re-recordings of their two first albums “Harakiri For The Sky” and “Aokigahara”. As they have never been fully happy with the production of these two early albums, the Austrian duo decided to take a deep dive into their past for their 10th band anniversary and revive them as “MMXXII Editions”, together with longtime collaborator Krimh on drums and a re-designed cover artwork by Art Of Maquenda.

The first vinyl colors are already sold out at the AOP shop and the music video of the first single ‘Mad World’ almost crossed 500.000 views by now, so today, the band presents one of the most intensive tracks of their second album: ‘Homecoming: Denied’.

Vocalist J.J. comments:
“What I remember most when I think back on working on “Homecoming: Denied!” is that I wrote such long text phrases for the first part that I had to sing it double-time. That didn’t sound that great, so Matthias suggested me to cut them in half and do them half tempo. That worked perfectly and seems the perfect concord of the song to me. When I first heard the instrumental of the song I wasn’t sure if I like it as much as I liked the other songs of “Aokigahara”. But after we changed the lyrics of the first part, the rest of the song caught me as well and still does everytime when we play it live so many years later.”
