Hailing from the darkness and wildness of the French Alps, December 9th will see the release of “Death From Beyond”, the debut album blackened death metal solo artist FÄUST, which will be coming out via Swedish label Black Lion Records. Forged in the hellfire of the Soulreaper Studio, “Death from Beyond” is the perfect combination of speed and aggressive black death metal terror, with diabolical and dark melodies. From the fast opener to the epic ending of the album, this record is a pure condense of blackened death metal led by a great sense of melodies and a wild raw primal force. In support of the new album, FÄUST has unleashed the heavy as hell track “And All That Is Evil”, streaming below.

Fans of Norway’s SLEGEST have been waiting a while for a new dose of the band’s Black Metal-tinged Heavy Rock, four years to be precise, but they need wait no more, because on the 20th of January 2023 Dark Essence Records will release the band’s fourth full-length album “Avstand”.
Formed back in 2010 by Ese, SLEGEST started out as a solo project, with a debut release in the form of a self-titled EP. But all that changed in 2013 when Ese signed with Dark Essence Records and put together a live lineup, which, with Ese on guitar and vocals, Sør on guitars, Hövard on bass and Fjøsne on drums, cemented SLEGEST’s reputation as a no-nonsense heavy rock band.
There followed three full-length albums of hard-hitting heavy metal whose Black Metal and classic 70’s and 80’s heavy rock roots couldn’t be denied. And now they’re back, with “Avstand” an album inspired by Nietzsche’s The Birth of Tragedy. With a title that means “Distance” the songs explore the eternal and infinite. A view of life from within, you could say. with the self-conscious, the rational and the dream state, weighed against the instinctive, euphoric and the natural aspects of your life, and begging the question “which side exactly do you come down on?”
As Ese explains:
Musically, we are staying the course. We operate well within the framework we have created for ourselves on our past albums, whilst, at the same time, we’ve upped the tempo a bit this time around. By doing this, our sound clearly has quite a traditional streak, but I´m confident that our take on metal offers something different. Our goal, of course, is, that in the final reckoning, our material proves to be truly awesome and sinister sounding!
With artwork by Tom Korsvold, “Avstand” was recorded at the Polyfon Studio with Leif Herland behind the desk, and was mixed by Herbrand Larsen at the Conclave & Earshot Studio and mastered by Iver Sandøy at the Duper/Solslottet Studio, all in Bergen.

So, what else can fans expect from SLEGEST going forward? Well, live dates for sure, and a tour, details of which will be announced shortly. And also, a change to the lineup that has remained constant since the band’s early days, with drummer Chris taking over from Fjøsne, a change which, according to the band, has also meant a different approach to the recording of “Avstand”:
With Fjøsne having been our live drummer, Ese has always played the drums on our recordings, so “Avstand” is the first album on which he does not play the drums himself. Chris has been around the band for some time and has played live for us on one European tour, so he knows all about the SLEGEST ethos. He did a really good job with the drums for the album, and it was natural that he should also handle the live part in the future. So, we would like to welcome him to the band, and at the same time thank Fjøsne for all the good times and all the work he put into SLEGEST.
Iconic rockers FASTER PUSSYCAT have announced the upcoming release of double A-side singles ‘Like a Ghost‘ and ‘Pirate Love‘ which will be available digitally via Golden Robot Records on November 28.
This release is the first for the band under the Golden Robot umbrella with Taime Downes saying earlier this year “The band and I are over the moon to join the Golden Robot Records rock-n-roll family! We are super excited to release some of our badass new tunes globally – we know the label see our vision and supports the band and we feel completely at home here.”
The double A-side single comes just a few months before Faster Pussycat are expected to hit Australian shores with an exclusive Australian tour edition of ‘Like a Ghost‘ and ‘Pirate Love‘ on coloured translucent blue 7″ vinyl available to purchase at these shows with only limited stock to be made available online.

‘Like a Ghost‘ is a track about growing up in the 70’s, listening to the radio and doing what kids do and the memories it brings back. It features Taime‘s signature vocals carrying the song through to completion. The production on this track is second to none with blistering guitars and the band in full force.
‘Pirate Love‘ a cover of the legend Johnny Thunders stays true to the original with both tracks complimenting each other with strong instrumentals, killer vocals and an edge to them – everything you would expect from a top-shelf Faster Pussycat release.

Brazilian veteran death metallers CARNIFIED resumed its activities in 2021, taking everyone by surprise with “Nocturna” single. The trio, formed by Dan Loureiro (vocals, bass), Marcos Franco (guitar) and Vicente Azevêdo (drums), is starting a new chapter of its journey with the release of “Carnage For The Gods” EP, now available on all digital platforms.
This new effort brought the challenge of maintaining the level achieved with the single, which had the participation of the unparalleled voice of Sarah Jezebel Deva, the singer known for lending her voice to acts like Cradle of Filth, Therion and Hecate Enthroned.
Guitarist Marcos Franco commented: “We managed to find the balance between the roots of our sound known by fans since the 90s and bring these compositions to the present, with the weight and melodies that we seek to convey our history, or rather, the most suitable way to present our conceptual universe called Askardem.”
“We couldn’t release songs with a sound level and composition lower than ‘Nocturna’, so we explored the individual talents of each musician and went to our limit to make two strong, heavy, brutal and deep songs. I’m sure we managed to achieve our goal.”

The lyrics of “Carnage For The Gods” present ritualistic and dark scenarios, and to represent them, Carnified explored a mix of chants, growls and clean vocals, where Dan Loureiro‘s talent shine, while Vicente Azevedo brought folk beats, that combined with the traditional death metal, bring striking and creative elements to his drums.
“The guitars bring our previous compositions back, but adding more chromatic and heavy elements that make a parallel with beautiful melodies and the atmospheric and dark riffs of black metal. Carnified is one of the veteran forces from Brazilian extreme metal scene. Formed in 1994 by Alex Oliveira (vocals), Eduardo Araújo (bass), Leonardo Pinheiro (guitars) and Vicente Azevêdo (drums), the group released its first demo, “Putrid Development“, in 1994. In 1996 the group’s music changed, influenced by the British death/doom metal acts, which resulted in their second demo, “The Carnification“. In 1998 their line-up also expanded, becoming a sextet, with which they recorded their first EP, “O Primeiro Elo“. With lyrics that tell stories of a world inhabited by gods who envy the human form, they released in 2001 “Where The Gods Bleed“, their debut album.
In 2005, the group went into a hiatus that ended only in 2020. “We wouldn’t go back if it weren’t for something with real meaning,” explained the drummer Vicente Azevêdo. After working on the re-release of their old work, the band, which is now a power trio formed by Dan Loureiro (vocals, bass), Marcos Franco (guitar) and Vicente Azevêdo (drums), released “Nocturna“, a single with the goal of going back to their essence.
The end of 2022 sees Carnified starting a new chapter with a trip to the universe of Askardem through the release of “Carnage For The Gods” EP, an effort that mix the brutality of death metal with the beautiful melodies and dark riffs of black metal.

To be more specific, it’s about how the virtual screens that have burrowed into our lives control our perception of the world around us. When ‘Alpha Kenny Buddy’ first came up with ‘Lucifer’s Crystal Delusions’ precursor ‘Liquid Crystal Delusions’, smartphones were just beginning to become popular and the mass population was still slaves to their TV screens. Nine years have since passed since then and the screens in our pockets have taken over the screens in our living rooms. In ‘Lucifer’s Crystal Delusions’ the individual members of AKB function as a single unit, delivering a barrage of heavy-hitting groovy riffs with Ahmad Bachari barking angry lines with his harsh style of rapping.
Their new collaboration with 105 Studio shows how high-end production can take a band to the next level. The artwork of ‘Lucifer’s Crystal Delusions’ was designed by Shesaphoenix, and the music video was shot and edited by John V Samaniego.
