“There are no haunted places, Only haunted people”
Breaking 1,000,000 streams on Spotify with a recent single of their dark brand of gothic industrial metal, Ben V., along with his band Ludovico Technique, bring a thoughtful depth and complexity to the genre. Presenting the very embodiment of Gothic culture in its purest form and their new album reflects that.
From New York City, the band originally drew inspiration from goth industrial acts such as Skinny Puppy and The Sisters of Mercy, yet now, Ludovico Technique have added glimpses of Type O Negative, Rammstein, and Rob Zombie to their unique take on gothic music.
Melodic metal/hard rock outfit JADED HEART have released their new single “Heart Attack”, along with a lyric video that’s available for your viewing, below.
“It’s a fight song about inner strength and not giving up. But it is also about being able to completely put your trust in another person. It’s about someone who can lift you up when you fall, someone who can kickstart your heart when it stops beating. It’s basically a tribute to that one person in your life that you know you can count on when the going gets tough. People like that are hard to come by.”

Polish death/thrash metallers FAUST have released the second track ‘Jakbyś Gryzła Żwir’ from upcoming album “Cisza Po Tobie”.
Faust returns with the fourth album in their 25-year history of their thrash/death metal playing. New album titled “Cisza po Tobie” refers stylistically to the enthusiastically received concept of the previous album “Wspólnota Brudnych Sumień” (recognized by Musick Magazine as one of the most important releases of the last decade in Polish metal). It is the most brutal, fastest and at the same time the most lyrical album of this formation. From the extreme blasts of Pavulon to a funeral song based on white voices and no other instruments. This album breaks the backbones of stereotypes and broadens the boundaries of metal. Fans of the old KAT, Morbid Angel, Testament, Death and even Dead Can Dance or Slavic music will not be disappointed.
Music for this album was recorded, mixed and mastered in cooperation with Filip Hałucha at Heinrich House Studio (Hate, Vesania), while drums were recorded with Paweł Granowski at JNS Studio (Antigama, Riverside).
Album premiere is scheduled at 30th September 2022 and will be released as CD jewelbox with cooperation of Polish label Szataniec, pre-order will be available at 12 September. The author of the cover artwork and the 28-page insert with hand-painted graphics is Anna Malesińska, Piotr Czajkowski is responsible for the layout.
The band’s commentary on the new album: “The order of the tracks on the album is not accidental. The cover of the album, depicting a sad Mary with a child in her arms, surrounded by rotting fruit and predatory or scavenging insects, suggests that it will be a collection of reflections on the moral condition of contemporary society, rooted in Christian values. Values that rot, corrode, and often justify hatred and intolerance. In the musical layer, the group tries to present the mechanisms that ultimately lead to rape, violence, emigration, genocide and people’s indifference to these phenomena. It is a story of a parent and a child fleeing from persecution until they are no longer able to run away. That is why the last piece, sung in a white voice, is both a lullaby and a funeral song. The author of the text explains his personal philosophy about what will happen to us after death. If you look at it from the perspective of Tomek Dąbrowski – death does not exist“.
In advance of their 2nd release “Dread The Dawn”, CASSIUS KING have just released their video for the Paul Stanley cover song ‘Wouldn’t You Like To Know Me’.
Guitarist Dan Lorenzo said, “My wife was surprised I wanted to cover this song because she told me it reminded her of a cute/happy song she would like from the 80s. And guess what? It is a happy song, but I’ve always loved it. It makes me happy! Everybody in Cassius King (Jason McMaster vocals, Ron Lipnicki drums and Jimmy Schulman bass) loves and I mean absolutely LOVES old Kiss.”
‘Wouldn’t You Like To Know me’ will only be available on the American version of “Dread The Dawn” on California’s Nomad Eel Records on October 21st. Germany’s MDD Records version of Dread The Dawn will feature different bonus tracks.
Vocalist Jason McMaster produced the video and said, “Being a big Kiss fan, I was still reluctant to record a vocal track, or even like the idea of recording this song. I thought “Why can’t we do God of Thunder or something like that?” I started to cut the tracks for it, and revisiting the original version, and holy shit….I fell back to 1978 and in love with the song all over again. Totally excited to throw this video out to rock fans”.

LANGUISH have today shared a new track, titled Parasite, and an accompanying visualizer via Metal Sucks. The single is the third song to be taken from the Tucson, AZ deathgrind band’s upcoming third full-length, Feeding The Flames Of Annihilation, set for release via Prosthetic Records on October 7. Parasite is yet another pulverising blast of death metal and grind that sets its sights on abusive power structures and capitalist ills.
Speaking on the single release, the band comments: “Parasite is about the blood suckers of our society. Those who take everything we have, who prey on the weak, and profit from misery and suffering. They capitalize on disease and hopelessness, and exploit the basic human desire to live fulfilling lives in peace and happiness. We hope one day they pay for their crimes but in the meantime here is a sick metal song about them dying painfully.”
LANGUISH is a band that has relied on speed to deliver their message in the most caustic and devastating way possible, but conversely, they’ve taken their time to reach the point they’re now at, on the precipice of releasing Feeding The Flames Of Annihilation. World events forced a creative go-slow which granted them time to “hyperfocus” on crafting their latest studio effort.
Although grindcore continues to make up a good deal of the LANGUISH calling card, a considered leaning towards death metal across the twenty five minute runtime has allowed the group room to enunciate their distaste with more clarity, both literally and metaphorically. The world-weariness felt by its authors is colored with rage, disappointment, and a cycle of hitting rock bottom over and over. Inspired by the socialist anthems of Woody Guthrie, taking swipes at landlords, megacorps, and billionaires, with few escaping their scathing sulfur.
The prolonged writing period enabled the vitriol to permeate the bones of each track as they took shape. Old-school influences from the likes of Morbid Angel and Immolation seeped in to inspire additional flourishes as the songs were fleshed out before they were taken to the studio. An expanded drumming palette allowed Zack Hansen to up his technical ability, tying into the sound of a band that has found confidence in taking their time, evolving along the way. Guitarist, Matthew Mutterperl delivers skin-shredding death metal riffs in abundance, as well as creating the visual accompaniment for Feeding The Flames Of Annihilation.
The band self-produced the album at Homewrecker Studios in Tucson with bassist Ryan Bram engineering and mixing, before the album was handed to Brad Boatright at Audiosiege for mastering. A four-year absence hasn’t mellowed LANGUISH any; this new album cranks up the intensity, obliterates expectations, and provides the perfect soundtrack to accompany watching the world around us seemingly implode.
Feeding The Flames Of Annihilation tracklist: 1. Manifesto 2. Last Legs 3. Ripped Remains 4. Parasite 5. Poisoned Chalice 6. Judas Goat 7. The Collector 8. Failed State 9. Feeding The Flames 10. Comply Or Die 11. Corporate Dystopia
