DESTRÖYER 666 continue to do what they are best at: kicking ass and hammering out heavy metal that is slamming straight into the face. No compromise, no sell out, no bullshit!

DESTRÖYER 666 don’t do whiny nostalgia but simply stick to their old school roots, which are reaching straight down into the golden age of metal while allowing themselves to sound fresh and remain relevant. The band originally started out as a solo project of BESTIAL WARLUST guitarist KK in Australia in 1994. As early as with debut album ‘Unchain the Wolves’ (1997), fast-tracked towards international acclaim. The even stronger second full-length, ‘Phoenix Rising’ (2000) had the Australians relocating to Europe to be able to satisfy the soaring demand for touring and festival shows. After a round of line-up changes, third full length ‘Cold Steel… For an Iron Age’ (2002) cemented the band’s excellent reputation. After a hiatus caused among other issues by disenchantment with the business, DESTRÖYER 666 returned with ‘Defiance’ in 2009 and followed up on this success with the rough and gritty ‘Wildfire’ (2016) seven years later that saw them touring and performing at all the relevant metal festivals worldwide on a regular basis again. The Australians filled the gap between the latest albums with the hard-hitting EP, ‘Call of the Wild’ (2018) that comes with a distinct taste of an unrepentantly classic flavour.

The outlaws from down under deliver another pummelling and relentless lesson in aggression with full length number 6(66). ‘Never Surrender’ is a furious assault of black thrash, chainsaw riffs, and warlike drums, offering no moment of reprisal as it rages on for 40 unyielding minutes.

With this offering, DESTRÖYER 666 takes no prisoners!

THE SLUAGH Return with New Single ‘128’, with Classical Scored B-Side

Following the release of their debut album, ‘Enivid Creatures’ and previous single, ‘I bhFolach’, masked Irish Technical Melo-Death force, THE SLUAGH reveal ‘128’ with classically scored B-side, ‘128 (EC2)’.

Listen to the single here. Watch the official YouTube video here.

peaking of the single the band commented: “Kicking the door in at 240bpm, our new single’128’, taken from ‘Enivid Creatures 1’, is composed with a mix of vulgarity and finesse. With choirs, blast-beats, tech guitar riffs and guttural vocals, the track was written with the intention of dragging the listener on their face for over five minutes of aural brutality.
Alongside sweeping guitar solos and contrasting orchestral melodies 128 is a broad, full landscape of sound that opens the ‘Enivid Creatures’ album with a fast, and very heavy punch.
Being two sides of the same coin, ‘128’ from the ‘Enivid Creatures 2’ album shines a light on the melodic face of the project. Showcasing the choirs and orchestral arrangements that sit behind the weight of the band’s performance. 128 ”EC2” shows a great contrast in the elements that contribute to the band’s sound.”

Check out the previous single ‘I bhFolach’ here.

The Sluagh are a progressive symphonic death metal band from Ireland formed with their current members in 2019. The name is derived from mythological creatures, ‘Sluagh na marbh’, in Gaelic folklore. Said to be composed of the souls of the dead, usually this army would appear similar to a flock of birds before a person was taken by them.

A five-piece band originating in Ireland, most of the members are from international backgrounds and consists of three guitarists, Seán Blacklock (Ireland), Killian Chellar (Ireland), Avinash Appadoo (Mauritius), bassist Krzysztof Sowa (Poland) and vocalist Jorge Nino (Colombia).

As of 2022, The Sluagh have released two versions of their debut LP, titled ‘Enivid Creatures’. One is the traditional version and the other is classically scored version. Significant experimentation began at the onset of writing both albums, drawing inspiration from both classical composers while also strongly influenced by technical and progressive metal bands.

The Sluagh are currently writing material new material and gearing up for some live shows later in the year.

“Rebels” is a track taken from KPRO‘s self-titled album “Kansai Progressive Rock Orchestra”, due for release on October 14th, 2022 via Wormholedeath worldwide. Watch the video below.

The band speaking of the album:

“A tale of a rebellion to the world where alternate space and alternative time cross paths and a journey back to the present. This is an unprecedented group of songs that mix odd time signatures, mode, jazz, and hard rock. Fantastic melodies are played by five unique musicians who incorporate irregular instruments such as keyboard harmonica and sticks. Why don’t you lose yourself in the breathless development of the music.”

Formed in 2017 by progressive rock musicians based in Kansai, Japan. The band released its first album on a Japanese JPRG label in 2020, gained worldwide recognition on social networking sites, and they will re-release their first album via Wormholedeath in 2022.

MINDAHEAD Release New Single + Music Video ‘The Last Tide’

Posted in: Int. News. Tagged: MINDAHEAD. Leave a comment

Ride the “Last Tide” of progressive avant-garde metal from Italy’s MindAheaD with their second single off their forthcoming sophomore album “6119 Part 1” being released via Rockshots Records at the end of October.

The latest track to be previewed off their upcoming full-length record, “Last Tide” is an emotional ballad that tells the next chapter of the concept album’s character “6119”. The band explains in further detail:

“Lost in a kind of frame, like an endless instant, ‘Last Tide’ describes where “6119” finds himself on the seashore, watching the waves and the sunset. He reflects on the natural change of things that, just like the waves of the sea, never stop changing, and thinks back with nostalgia and hope to the female figure seen in the desert. But this sudden and almost unique carefree situation is the result of an error, a power surge in the Machine’s connections that allow “6119” to have an independent vision of the program, an autonomous thought, you can say. Soon (in fact, it is the shortest track on the album), as soon as the sun went down, the Machine reestablishes itself and again takes control of “6119’s” consciousness.”

MindAhead‘s next full-length offering “6119 Part 1” follows their 2017 debut “Reflections”. Just like its predecessor, the band’s new offering is once again a concept album with a complex, personal and unusual sound to test the limits of their songwriting. “6119 Part 1” is a continuation of the previous work on “Reflections”, which will tell us the story of 6119, the main character, through a surreal, oneiric journey, always poised between physical space and the realm of the mind. Trapped in this dreamlike kaleidoscope, he proceeds heedless of the consequences, hoping to find at the end of the journey (the “Part II,” currently in production) the reason why all this is happening to him.

Merging different aspects, sometimes opposite, of human feeling, bringing them together in a colorful and personal musical proposal, which has its roots in influences ranging from prog 70s to death metal, the band explains the new album in further detail:
“This album is a concept realized with the aim of telling a story that straddles the line between dystopian science fiction and the psychological investigation of the human mind, so the music and lyrics were created in order to reach these goals. We would like the listening experience to be completely immersive. We would like the listener to be able to take a break from the real world and step into another dimension, one that is distant but at the same time well known, not alien, but almost familiar. The listener should passionately follow the events of ‘6119’ in its inner and outer search for reality, in a story that began in the previous album ‘Reflections’ and will end in the band’s next release, so as to complete a narrative trilogy.”

Having shared sharing the stage with bands such as Jinjer, Vision Divine, Deathless Legacy, Domine, Pino Scotto, MindAhead is recommended for fans of Opeth, Ayreon, Haken, Katatonia and Pink Floyd. “6119 Part 1” is due out October 28th, 2022 via Rockshots Records.
