Southern California’s DAYSEEKER will drop their new album Dark Sun on November 4. Pre-order it here.

Today, the band has shared the video for the latest single “Crying While You’re Dancing,” which drills down on the album’s incredibly personal concept. Watch it here.

“‘Crying While You’re Dancing’ is about those people you know who pretend to have the time of their lives while it’s clear to everyone around them that they’re spiraling,” says singer Rory Rodriguez.

As mentioned, Dark Sun is incredibly contemplative. “Dark Sun is a collection of songs that deeply explored my personal life over the last two years,” Rodriguez previously shared. “Most of it is written about my father’s passing, about how it felt like the sun burned out the day he passed, and how the world is a little darker without him in it.”

Dayseeker are a quiet killer. The band has steadily built a buzz over the past several years — and they have reached a tipping point. Dayseeker built themselves into a scene standout with 2019’s Sleeptalk, which was hailed by Alternative Press as “a warm and welcome release to higher ground” and as “much needed fresh air into the post-hardcore scene.” The album has gone on to accumulate over 150 million streams, and it positioned the band as a formidable force — and one that is primed to take its next big leap. In 2021, the band dropped a deluxe version of Sleeptalk, featuring four reimagined versions of album tracks, which offered fans a fresh and unique take on songs they already love. It also demonstrated the depth and breadth of the band’s creative vision, scope, and possibilities. However, Dark Sun will be Dayseeker’s moment and is set to catapult the band beyond the scene’s stratosphere.

SAINT ASONIA Announce New “Extrovert” EP + Share ‘Wolf’ Visualizer

Hard rock juggernaut SAINT ASONIA, featuring former Three Days Grace frontman Adam Gontier and Staind guitarist/founding member Mike Mushok, have announced their second EP of the year.

The six-song Extrovert EP will arrive on November 18. Pre-order it here.

Today, the band shared the visualizer for the new single “Wolf.” Watch and listen here.

“Wolf” is a bit of a battle cry and an anthem of survival. It’s also a riff-driven, melodically memorable banger, as the band has become known for.

“This song was inspired by the chaos, the darkness, and the violence that so many people have to live with in this world,” says Gontier. “So often we have to fight, scratch, and crawl our way out of unbearably difficult times, making our way to the surface for a moment, just to be thrown back in. It kinda feels like we’re always under attack. ‘Wolf’ is about being backed into a corner and fighting just to stay alive.”

EXTROVERT EP TRACK LISTING:
“Devastate”
“Break the Mold”
“Over It”
“Wolf”
“Better Now”
“Chasing the Light”

Extrovert follows the Introvert EP, which dropped this past summer and featured seven new tracks, including a Weeknd cover. Get it here.

Both EPs will be released physically as Introvert/Extrovert with bonus tracks on December 9. Pre-orders with exclusive merch are available here.

Saint Asonia — rounded out by Cale Gontier [bass] and Cody Watkins [drums]— have perfected a fusion of gut-punching grooves, intricate fretwork, airtight songwriting, and soaring choruses.

For as much as Gontier and Mushok had achieved in multiplatinum rock acts Three Days Grace and Staind, respectively, the musicians also architected the framework for a singular legacy together in Saint Asonia. 2015’s self-titled Saint Asonia kicked open the door as Loudwire crowned them “Best New Artist” at the Loudwire Music Awards. The 2019 follow-up, Flawed Design, only ingratiated a growing fan base. Lead single “The Hunted,” featuring Sully Erna of Godsmack, racked up 13 million Spotify streams, bringing their cumulative streams near the 100 million-mark. New Noise awarded it 4.5-out-of-5 stars and urged, “Any fan of hard rock (whether they’ve listened in recently or not) should give Saint Asonia a spin.” Meanwhile, Loudwire named it among “The 50 Best Rock Albums of the Year.” Along the way, they hit the road with the likes of Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, Seether, Alter Bridge, and Mötley Crüe.

KING KRAKEN Release Halloween Inspired Video ‘Haddonfield ’78’ from Debut Album “MCLXXX”

Recorded at Long Wave Studios and produced, mixed and mastered by Romesh Dodangoda (Those Damn Crows, Inglorious, Motorhead), this is KING KRAKEN’s lead single from their upcoming debut album, ‘MCLXXX’.

Inspired by monstrous fictitious villains of the highest order, ‘Haddonfield ’78’s chilling music video leaves no stone unturned as its storyline reveals the dark undertones of the lyrics. “Being a huge horror fan I knew I wanted to write about fictional serial killers (I’ve always veered towards movies as opposed to true crime)”, reveals lyricist and King Kraken vocalist Mark Donoghue. “I was conscious not to mention the film or the character in the lyrics so that upon hearing it, the listener could decide for themselves who the song is about. The title came some weeks later and therefore some lyrics adapted, however, the only reference directly to the film would be Michael’s knife in the line ‘shining silver is the last thing you’ll see today’. However, l since titling the song there is no question as to what the track is about.”, Donoghue concludes.

With the album title alone bearing enough weight to see off Titans in their droves (MCLXXX is the year that the mythological creature, ‘The Kraken’, was first recorded as being seen in the flesh), King Kraken delivers on the promise of their 2020 debut EP.

The result is a heavy, groove orientated, melodic collection of songs that takes the listener on a profound journey through a multitude of texture and inspiration. Check out the cephalopod-like sonics of ‘Green Terror’ , Veins’, and ‘Man Made Monster’, alongside the undeniable terrifying Halloween tribute of new single ‘Haddonfield ’78’. With the one, two turn of the screw album closers, ‘Chaos Engine’ and ‘Castle of Bone’, the Welsh warriors relish every bite of this new 10 track long player and it’s difficult not to bang your head to.

‘MCLXXX’ wildly elaborate collection of songs has inspiration from a famous list of horror and sci-fi movies that had an early impact on the band’s vocalist and main wordsmith, Mark Donoghue. The new LP is a mixing bowl of hefty reprehensible rhythm guitars, battering yet eloquent drum patterns, pounding bass lines, raw and robust vocals, and acrobatic guitar solos. Be in no doubt true believers, there’s a monster musical mash here that will excite and infuse the listener with a retrospective sonic familiarity, but with a fresh bite that will take head’s off. There’s everything from crushing heavy metal to more measured, blues-influenced hard rock, all served with an originality that is both old school and refreshingly contemporary.

Intriguing, tantalising and provocative, in equal measure, ‘MCLXXX’ will set the bar high for new metal releases in 2023. King Kraken has delivered one of the best metal underground debut albums heard in recent times and it won’t go unnoticed by the metal masses. Ones to watch and go see live!

About HOST

The origins of HOST do not trace back to the 1999 PARADISE LOST album bearing the same name but instead to the West Yorkshire music clubs of the mid-to-late 1980s. While Holmes and Mackintosh were already certified heavy metal fanatics (“metal thrashing mad” as Holmes equates), they were equally drawn to the New Wave and Goth music scenes. The pounding rhythms, sublime melodies and undercurrent of darkness drew them in, creating immediate earworms and a desire to delve further.

Mackintosh finally put plans into motion during the pandemic for a venture that would merge his penchant for sound design with the moods and atmosphere of 1980s dance-pop and Goth. The project was originally a solo pursuit until he asked Holmes, his longtime PARADISE LOST songwriting partner, to join. HOST was selected as the name as a tip of the hat to the aforementioned album that found PARADISE LOST in an unprecedented period of experimentation that eschewed their metal roots and also challenged their fanbase in ways like never before.

“We always stood by Host as an album,” says Mackintosh. “This project is not totally connected to that album, but some of the ideas are extrapolated. We’re taking the basic premise and trying it out now. And, really, it was something fun and interesting for us to do. We’ve been doing PARADISE LOST for a long time and got an itch to try something different from where PL is now. I could take PL down this route again. Who knows? It may happen if we live long enough, but I thought, ‘Why not now?’ I had the time to do it.”

HOST is:
Nick Holmes – Vocals
Greg Mackintosh – Guitars, Synths & Programming

VLAD IN TEARS Release Official Halloween Video for ‘Wasted Lives’

Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: VLAD IN TEARS. Leave a comment

Celebrate this Halloween with VLAD IN TEARS and enjoy this very special Halloween version of “Wasted Lives”. You can watch the official video of “Wasted Lives (Halloween Version) below.

The original song is part of the new VLAD IN TEARS studio album “Porpora” wich was released on September 16th by Metalville Records.

VLAD IN TEARS was virtually reborn after decades when the three brothers Kris (vocals & piano), Lex (guitar) and Dario (bass) decided to move from old and sunny Italy to Germany in 2013. The brothers immediately showed their great musical skills and their ability to be fantastic live performers. This rapid development led to a steadily growing fan base to this day.

Tireless and insatiable, VLAD IN TEARS are always looking for new sounds and arrangements to perfectly blend their melodies with very dark sounds, ranging from 80’s wave to the hardest and most modern rock sound. The strongest part of the band is the voice of singer Kris, which seems to know no limits.

JOANNE SHAW TAYLOR Releases New Single ‘Won’t Be Fooled Again’ Feat. Joe Bonamassa

Singer-songwriter, guitarist phenom JOANNE SHAW TAYLOR kicked off her 2022 U.S. Fall Tour last Friday in support of her most personal album to date, “Nobody’s Fool,” “regarded as her best to date” by Guitarist Magazine.

Produced by Joe Bonamassa and Josh Smith and released via Bonamassa’s KTBA Records today, fans can listen/buy “Nobody’s Fool” via https://bit.ly/streamnobodysfool.

Watch the new official music video for “Won’t Be Fooled Again” featuring Joe Bonamassa.

As a writer on all but two tracks, “Nobody’s Fool” showcases Taylor’s vocal style, writing prowess and guitar skills, taking the listener on a journey into the wasteland of love and back into the light of hope and redemption.

“I didn’t have a script for this one; I was not chained to any one particular idea how it must sound,” Taylor explains, “I wanted to focus on the song writing, and I was able to write whatever I was feeling. I had not done that before, and I must say it was a lovely experience.”

With that freedom, Taylor treads new sonic territory in her eighth studio album, expanding her catalogue by combining retro pop with a modern flare while still encompassing the emotion of her blues roots, as Rock and Blues Muse boasts “this is top-shelf blues on all levels that also packs huge crossover potential,” proving a sentiment expressed earlier this year by American Songwriterthat she is “undoubtedly ready for the big time.”

Blues Rock Review says, “Nobody’s Fool is her most personal album to date and features the combination of her skilful, emotionally driven song writing delivered by her sultry vocals and amazing guitar playing.”

Album opener and title track “Nobody’s Fool” highlights Taylor’s storytelling abilities and “sets the mood with JST’s signature husky, soulful vocals embellished with some powerful guitar lines,” praises Guitarist Magazine, while Guitar World observes lead single “Just No Getting Over You (Dream Cruise)” is “infectiously Stones-y.”

“Nobody’s Fool” also finds Taylor’s collaborative spirit, with producer Joe Bonamassa joining her for “Won’t Be Fooled Again,” Carmen Vandenburg on “Figure It Out” and cellist Tina Guo on “Fade Away,” a stripped down ballad written for Taylor’s mother who passed in 2013, with Guitar World admiring “what ‘Fade Away’ lacks in fretboard fireworks it more than makes up for in sheer power – a testament to Taylor’s sharp song writing.”

A full circle moment, Taylor is joined by Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics, who discovered the blues-rock sensation when she was 16 years old and invited her on the road with his supergroup D.U.P. The pair tackle Eurythmics’ hit “Missionary Man,” the only song on the album that isn’t an original.

Taylor recently announced her 2023 U.S. Spring Tour, boasting 20 dates across the country and launching March 19 at Bilheimer Capitol Theatre in Clearwater Florida. Before embarking on her 2023 tour dates, Taylor will kick off her 2022 Fall U.S. Tour at The Center Theatre in Skokie, Illinois tonight.

Joanne embarks on an extensive 14-Date U.K. Tour from November 22 until December 11.
