MARTYRED Premiere ‘Sadist Globe’ Lyric Video, Debut Album Out Now

Texas death metallers MARTYRED are premiering the lyric video of “Sadist Globe”. Watch it HERE.

The song is featured on the band’s debut album, “The Relegation”, out now on CD, MC, digital and vinyl LP formats via Time To Kill Records.

“‘Sadist Globe’ travels into the mind of a madman whose obsession thrives on seeing the human race destroy itself. Longing for the global decline of modern man, he embraces the chaos-induced visions of mental and physical trauma as euphoric dopamine rushes through his veins”.

Album tracklist:

1. Shadows of Deception
2. Sadist Globe
3. Iniquitous Transformation
4. Baneful Scorn
5. Relegation
6. Divine Pestilence
7. Toxic Transmissions
8. Carnage Incarnate

Guitarist Mike DeBord states: “‘The Relegation’ is something that we’ve been working on for roughly the last couple of years. With this being our first full length album following two previously self released EPs, ‘Exemplifying Their Defeat’ and ‘Dawn of Terror’, we wanted to make sure that this effort stayed true to the Martyred recipe, but also allowed us to showcase the evolution of the band as well. During the time between the last release and working on this one we were able to harness our individual darker times & experiences, and translate them into this in the most honest and brutal way we could… as a band I believe that’s what we have done with ‘The Relegation’.
I think the addition of Jason Frankhouser writing on this album will be the most noticeable difference on this one. He wrote 2 songs, I wrote 2 and we co-wrote the others. I think his writing style gelled really well with mine and he has been a great fit. He wrote solos on the Dawn of Terror EP, but this is the first with rhythm contributions and it’s worked out quite well. On a personal level he is a hard working dude touring as FOH sound for Bob Dylan and others. I would also like to say bringing on Rene Martinez on drums has brought a lot of power to the sound. Rene is an extremely driven guy who worked his tail off on this. He dedicated a lot of time as we all did, but he was determined to push himself to the limit on this. Metal is in Rene’s blood and he lives to play and be active as he has in his other Bands, Stabbing & Flesh Hoarder. I think the combination of all of our styles and different backgrounds has made it what it is and I’m excited for people to hear it”.

Produced by MARTYRED and mixed and mastered by Juan Urteaga at Trident Recording Studio (Cattle Decapitation, Exhumed), “The Relegation” is accompanied by an artwork from Jon Zig (Disgorge, Defeated Sanity) with additional graphic layout by Bob Toderico (Asphyx, Pestilence).

MARTYRED successfully merges a more contemporary sound with the purest old-school death metal influences and spirit.

Formed in 2003, by founding guitarist Mike DeBord, MARTYRED went on hiatus in 2010 and reformed in 2017. The band currently consists of Krieg Penny – Vocals, Mike DeBord – Guitars, Jason Frankhouser – Guitars, Stephen Fernandez – Bass, Rene Martinez – Drums. The group is known for their razor grinding guitars mixed with blackened thrash elements and often abstract time signatures, characterized by blast beats, complex riffing, and pit style hook riffs. Additionally, their reality-based lyrics characterized by war themes and mental trauma that are notable in death metal. Various line-up changes throughout the years have left Mike DeBord as the sole remaining original member, as well as the band’s driving force. To date, MARTYRED has released 3 EPs and a full length album to be released this fall 2022.

Line-up:

Krieg Penny – Vocals
Mike DeBord – Guitars
Jason Frankhouser – Guitars
Stephen Fernandez – Bass
Rene Martinez – Drums

Three days before the release of CASSIUS KING‘s 2nd album Dread The Dawn, vocalist Jason McMaster got a phone call asking him to fill in for Accept‘s vocalist Mark Tornillo who was sick.

McMaster said, “It was honor to work with ACCEPT this past week as fill in vocalist. To play the east coast, where Cassius King hails from, and even on the new album’s release date! I am feeling blessed this month overall. Dread the Dawn is a great record that I am very proud of.”

Vocalist and Talk Louder Podcast co-host Jason McMaster has been a diehard fan of heavy metal legends, Accept, since their debut album in 1979. In 2022, he got an out-of-the-blue, last-minute phone call to join the band on tour when their singer was suddenly sidelined due to illness. In a blur, he hopped a plane, devoured lyrics, barely slept and was soon onstage raging through a set of metal classics for four consecutive gigs. In this exclusive edition of the Talk Louder Podcast, Jason shares his balls-to-the-wall story of a lifetime.

Jason talks about the experience at length on his podcast Talk Louder in their newest episodes below.

Brighton-based rockers BAD LUCK FRIDAY have unleashed “Banshee” the second single from their eponymous debut album. Released by Wilde Fire Records, the single is available to stream on Spotify HERE.

Big guitars, wailing harp and a pounding rhythm section characterise this tune as a total anthem, making it the perfect track for Halloween. Scream if you want to go louder!

The official music video is available to watch on YouTube HERE.

The band’s eponymous debut album, available on CD and coloured vinyl, is available to order from www.badluckfriday.com.

Don’t be fooled by the harmonica. Bad Luck Friday is not your typical blues rock band. Will Wilde has a reputation in the blues world as a pioneer of the rock harp, but with Bad Luck Friday, he’s taken the music well beyond its traditional blues roots.

The band formed during the ashes of the pandemic when live music ground to a halt. Frustrated but still determined and highly creative, Wilde teamed up with guitarist, Steve Brook, and together they journeyed inward and developed their original style before bringing in Alan Taylor and Jack Turnbull to complete the line-up. Their fusion of bluesy classic rock and aggressive, contemporary hard rock encompasses anthemic choruses, catchy riffs, searing vocals, and Wilde’s blistering harmonica solos.

ALBUM TRACK BY TRACK

BAD LUCK FRIDAY

A heavy-hitting monster of a song featuring deceptively simple riffs and an impossible-to-resist groove, this tune begs repeat plays. The lyrics are a play on the old blues trope of selling your soul to the devil. If you take too much fame and fortune from the world, it wants something back in return. So, you’re always waiting for that karmic balance to bite you. We thought it was cool when bands like Motörhead, Bad Company and Black Sabbath have songs named after them. So, after writing this song we took on Bad Luck Fridayas our band name because it just felt like us.

666 AT THE CROSSROADS
Taking cues from Bon Scott era AC/DC and Whitesnake, this song takes you on a trip down to a dusty, lonely track where many have struck a deal with the devil. Like ‘Bad Luck Friday’ it continues the theme that rock ’n’ roll is the devil’s music.

BANSHEE
This song is about the old Irish legend of the banshee. It’s said that the wail or scream of a banshee is a warning that there is death approaching. In 2019, Will had a motorcycle accident where he broke his neck and thought he was going to die, that’s what the lyrics are about. Big guitars, wailing harp and a pounding rhythm section transforms this tune as a total anthem. Scream if you want to go louder!

DUST & BONES

This is the only slow track on the album. It’s the most personal and comes straight from a broken heart. It’s about a relationship that has come to an end and all that is left are memories. Our brief for this epic slugger was ‘Free/Paul Rodgers, but on steroids.’ So, get those lighters ready to hold aloft as this layered beast lays the feels down thick. And just when you thought the power ballad was dead.

JEALOUS WOMAN
Will shows his blues roots in this stomper and The Beak flashes out his guitar chops in a seriously searing solo. Play this to your ex.

TAKE THE BEST OF ME
If you mess with us you might end up in a song. This song delivers bite and bile. It’s Audioslave meets Paul Rodgers. Check out the harmonica solo!

MISTRESS
Bad Luck Friday go muscled-up T. Rex and smash out this grimy, sleazy pounder guaranteed to get a crowd moving. And don’t forget your safe word!

LOW DOWN DIRTY
The blues never sounded so heavy. Alan Taylor swings hard on the drums, fat fuzz guitars lay the scene and you get more bang for your buck with a double solo section. The lyric, “I lost my woman, my money, and my mind. What more have I got to lose?” is supposed to be tongue in cheek. It’s inspired by B.B. King’s lyrical style on ‘How Blue Can You Get.’

BONNIE TO MY CLYDE
Coming straight at you with in-your-face guitars, Bonnie hits hard and doesn’t let up, featuring a harp solo higher than a hippy on the third day of Glastonbury. This is about the kind of destructive relationship you know will end badly, but you just can’t help yourself.

REBEL WITH A CAUSE
We’re undoubtedly channeling Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave here. It’s big, bold, and likely to cause riots. When you hear that opening riff it’s time to get to the front.

LEE AARON Releases Official Video for ‘Rock Bottom Revolution’

LEE AARON with her band, has released the official video for “Rock Bottom Revolution”. The song is the first single from the upcoming studio album “Elevate” which will be released on 25.11. by Metalville Records.

ELEVATE: transitive verb
1: To lift up or make higher
2: to raise in rank or status
3: to improve morally, intellectually or culturally
4: to raise the spirits of

Lee Aaron is on a roll. The award winning, songwriter, producer and Canadian vocalist blazed back onto the rock scene in 2016 (after a ten year hiatus to raise her family) with a wealth of original material and more firecracker energy than artists half her age. She’s since produced 6 new releases, including a ‘live’ CD/DVD, with ELEVATE being the latest and possibly coolest addition to this renewed chapter in her illustrious career.

ELEVATE was written during the Covid lockdown, but rather than allowing that isolation to push the band into a negative place, Lee booked a studio lockout for the fall of 2021.

ELEVATE contains ten original tracks steeped in what has become Aaron’s signature sound: big guitar hooks, powerful, bluesy vocals, rich melodies and harmonies and just enough sassy attitude to tip the scales.

Aaron has always been known for digging a little deeper with her lyric content and ELEVATE is no exception.

ELEVATE was recorded in Aaron’s traditional fashion: live off the floor with her crack band, Sean Kelly (guitar), Dave Reimer (bass) and John Cody (drums) at the Armoury Studios in Vancouver with the finishing touches recorded at the band’s home studios. After forging a strong friendship and working relationship with Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams) on the last album, he once again teams up with Lee and the band for ELEVATE as recording and mix engineer.

About ELEVATE Aaron explains “I think it’s a shame how social media can divide good people. Analytics guarantee everyone has their own special ‘feed’ and you’re never hearing a different perspective – it polarizes people. ELEVATE is about not buying into that trap, it’s about choosing to lift each other up.”

As the title track inspires, “It’s not too late to re-create, let’s celebrate, let’s Elevate – LET’S ELEVATE!”

ABOUT BAD WOLVES

Expectations never mattered to Bad Wolves. Instead, the Los Angeles band fused unpredictable metallic intensity and impressive instrumental proficiency to arena-ready hooks, transforming from underdogs into elite platinum-certified hard rock contenders without compromise or apology. Since 2017, the core group—John Boecklin [drums], Doc Coyle [lead guitar, backing vocals], Chris Cain [rhythm guitar], and Kyle Konkiel [bass, backing vocals]—have consistently subverted expectations and accomplished the seemingly impossible. In 2018, the band earned a platinum plaque, topped iTunes, and ruled Active Rock at #1 for three weeks straight. This momentum also propelled their debut album, Disobey, to a Top 25 debut on the Billboard Top 200. In between performing to sold out audiences on multiple continents with heavyweights such as Five Finger Death Punch and Megadeth, 2019’s N.A.T.I.O.N. yielded their fifth straight #1 at Active Rock, “Sober,” and brought their total stream tally past the half-billion mark—unprecedented for a modern rock band. Not to mention, LoudWire hailed it among the “50 Best Rock Albums of 2019” as Billboard and Consequence of Sound chronicled their rise. In the midst of 2021, Bad Wolves welcomed Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz—previously of The Acacia Strain—as lead vocalist, ushering in a new chapter with their third full-length offering, Dear Monsters, [Better Noise Music], led by the single “Lifeline.”

DISPYRIA Sign with El Puerto Records, New Album Coming in Early 2023

DISPYRIA from Kaiserslautern have signed a worldwide contract with El Puerto Records! Their third album saga will be released in early 2023.

Composer and initiator Juergen Walzer:
“Finally! After long years of hard fighting to realize his idea and the story, Juergen Walzer’s DISPYRIA has signed a worldwide contract with El Puerto Records. The chemistry with those responsible has been excellent from the first contact and the enthusiasm and support for the epic was tangible in all conversations. So Josh Devon’s saga will be sailing into the safe haven of El Puerto Records! In the words of Juergen Walzer, “I am incredibly happy. Everything is possible!”

Matt. Bischof, Head Of Promotion, is thrilled: “I rarely tend to superlatives, but what Jürgen Walzer has delivered to us with the third part of the Dispyria saga is just great, especially since one of my Top3 Alltime Favorite Rock singers has sung a large part of the album!”

Because: on the new DISPYRIA – album, which can be called a “prequel” of the previous DISPYRIA saga, Walzer has invited illustrious names of the metal genre as guest vocalists, among them ZAK STEVENS (Savatage), but also RALF SCHEEPERS (Primal Fear) and CARSTEN LIZARD SCHULZ (Devoid, Lazarus Dream).

Line-up Album Cast:
Jürgen Walzer – Guitars
Zak Stevens – Vocals
Ralf Scheepers – Vocals
Carsten „Lizard“ Schulz – Vocals
