Dutch heavy metal veterans MARTYR have signed a multi-album deal with ROAR! Rock of Angels Records!
MARTYR started back in 1982. The band can be considered as one of the founding fathers of the Dutch heavy metal scene. During their formative years (1982‐1987) the band released two albums that are considered cult in the metal scene today. ‘For The Universe’ (1985) and ‘Darkness At Time’s Edge’ (1986) are classic metal, a delight for those who love strong melodies, speedy riffs and a high level of technicality. MARTYR disbanded in 1987 but reunited in 2001 to play Holland’s Heavy Metal Maniacs festival. In 2009, the first new MARTYR record in almost 25 years was released. That’s when the new EP ‘Fear’ was coupled with a re‐release of the classic ‘For The Universe’ album as a double digipack CD entitled ‘Fear The Universe’. A more genuine comeback album entitled “Circle Of 8” was released by Metal Blade Records world‐ wide in 2011 and has proven to be a significant impulse in MARTYR’s revival. In 2016, the Dutch act released the ‘You Are Next’ album. More headline shows, festivals and support tours followed where the always hard working band conquered a continuously growing audience. The Dutch metal legends already toured Japan three times, co-headlining the legendary ‘True Thrash Festival’ in Osaka twice. From their 2019 ‘T.T.F.’ appearance, the double ‘Live In Japan’ album was released. The record captures the ‘MARTYR experience’ at its finest. With their most recent full-length called ‘Planet Metalhead’, released earlier this year, MARTYR has again shown the metal world to be a very strong force to be reckoned with!
Today the label proudly announces the signing of a multi-album deal + back catalogue rights with MARTYR and welcome the band to the ROAR! Rock of Angels roster.

Canadian metal outfit IRON KINGDOM are gearing up for their fifth full-length effort, “The Blood Of Creation”, out November 4th. Today (October 20th), these 80s throwbackers meet modern progressive riffs have teamed up with Metal Insider to premiere a video for their latest single, “Queen Of The Crystal Throne”. Musically, the group is influenced by fantasy mixed with some added darker emotions following the covid-19 pandemic, making it an interesting take on the band’s continuous evolution.

“This powerful mid-tempo banger was written about a dark seductress: cold, aloof, and dangerous, you show interest at your own peril. We wanted a straight rocker tune, and that’s exactly what we did here with ‘Queen Of The Crystal Throne’, with hints of early Queensrÿche or Accept, the riffs have some balls, but they also keep a cool pace, it’s really just a super fun tune.”

The band was born from the minds of the rock singer Giorgia Colleluori (Sinner, Rock meets Classic and ex-Eternal Idol), who collaborates with Mat Sinner, manager and co-producer of the band, and the drummer Camillo Colleluori (ex-Eternal Idol), who called to complete the line up the guitarist Raffaello Indri (Elvenking) and the bass player Simon Dredo (Room Experience, Alex De Rosso).
In 2020 the debut album “Lilith” (released by ROAR! Texas-raised, Germany-based Rock’n’Rroll trio MARFA MOTEL will release their full-length, Wild Life Strangers, on November 18th. After releasing the catchy but subliminally unsettling first single Feel It, the band now reveals an unapologetically cocky video for another album track: They Call Me The Devil.
MARFA MOTEL’s wild guitar riffs, insanely tight rhythm sections, and raw human emotion offer “a lot of stuff to wrap your head and heart around“, MARFA MOTEL’s singer, songwriter and guitarist Taylor Chess comments.
For more than two decades, Taylor Chess has been seasoning his brand of ravishing rock music with an eclectic mix of sonic and visual influences. Since their debut EP Inside Out in 2019, MARFA MOTEL have evolved from a rock band heavily influenced by skate punk into truly uncharted territory: With 2021’s stand-alone Give Me Fire, MARFA MOTEL established themselves as the contemporary incarnation of the Rock’n’Roll gods living on sensual R’n’B Mount Bling, carrying themselves with both the audacity of a narcissistic fuckboi and the authentic humility of a friend, with the ability to make you sweat profusely one second and stare deep into your soul the next. The artwork was made by Kamil Wilde at Heart Taped Designs. Each of the singles’ electrifyingly vibrant videos was created by Mirko Witzki at Witzki Visions.
MARFA MOTEL’s Taylor Chess explains, “They Call Me The Devil is really about showing up no matter where, walking in like a badass because you feel like it, and taking what you want. Burn the place down, leave with the hottest chicks at the bar, take ‘em home, have a hell of a night, and start writing this song hung over in the morning still with sex in the air.” And that’s what Chess offers in his interpretation and inspiration for the visuals: the yellow Lamborghini, the shades, the sexy girls, and untethered energy on stage.
They Call Me The Devil is a deliciously dirty track that flirts with unfiltered human desires and primitive fantasies before smacking the listener in the throat, reminding them of the soul that lives inside each multi-faceted human being and the dichotomies we all undeniably carry within us.
