BAD WOLVES surprised fans with a cover of “Mama I’m Coming Home” premiering a new official music video for the cover via Better Noise Music. The track will be arriving on digital streaming platforms later this month. This fall, the band will be lighting up stages across the UK and Europe, accompanied by Volbeat and Skindred. A full list of dates is below, visit https://badwolvesnation.com/pages/tour for more information. Watch “Mama, I’m Coming Home” HERE.

Sharing the band’s excitement for the Ozzy Osbourne cover, Boecklin said, “Doc presented the idea to cover Ozzy’s “Mama, I’m Coming Home.” We were all so excited, we immediately started recording it on the road this past summer. Kane Churko’s Vegas studio was on the route so we tracked vocals there. ‘Mama’ is a beautiful anthem about emotional repair, a message we all connect with. Our version has some new flavors but still stays true to the classic.”

Directed by Wombat, the official music video for “Mama I’m Coming Home” features footage of lead singer Daniel ‘DL’ Laskiewicz performing the track in church. DL’s performance expresses a deep yearning for home, much like the song.

Next Friday, October 21, 2022, will see Norwegian dark and industrial metal act Gothminister release their hotly-anticipated, new album “Pandemonium” via AFM Records. Following previously-released songs, “This Is Your Darkness”, “Demons” and the haunting album title track, today, the goth ministers have dropped a final music video ahead of official album release, for new single “Star”!

While the first clips and singles were part of a trilogy about the dark and evil Gothminister kingdom, “Star is about how lonely life can be for a rockstar or a celebrity, especially when your career has come to an end,” says band mastermind Bjørn Alexander Brem. “Think of a dying star in the horizon and you get the picture. This song is about the loneliness, separation and the feeling of emptiness which also many others might relate to. But hopefully this song also will cheer you up with its punchy guitars and driving beats. And remember: you are not alone, and Gothminister plans to be in the scene for many more years to come! So now just get out on the dancefloor and rock!”

Get the song on all digital platforms HERE!

With his captivating debut ‘Gothic Electronic Anthems’ in 2003, Gothminister Bjørn Alexander Brem took the dark music scene by storm, unleashing a thunder of pitch-black magic. Powerful metal riffs march relentlessly arm in arm with huge orchestras and heavenly choirs, while the master himself reveals an astonishing range of vocal art: from the deepest gothic-dungeons up to the higher spheres of steaming rock. It’s the overwhelming combination of catchiness and darkness; a thrilling craft of composing within the marrow of gothic, industrial-metal and electronica, that became Gothminister’s trademarks ever since.

Tracks such as “Devil” (Gothic Electronic Anthems), “Monsters” (Empire of Dark Salvation, 2005), “Darkside” (Happiness In Darkness, 2008), “Liar” (Anima Inferna, 2011), “Utopia” (Utopia, 2013) – the last single from the CD/DVD horror movie concept album which even reached the national finals of the Norwegian Eurovision contest – or “Ich will alles” and “We are the ones who rule the world” which both entered the Top 10 of the German Alternative charts followed by an extensive tour with ASP, proved that Gothminister belongs to one of the most enthralling dark metal acts of modern times. Their new album, “Pandemonium”, will see the light of day on October 21, 2022 via AFM Records, the pre-sale is available at THIS LOCATION!

“’Bedroom door’ can play out in two ways. If you find me attractive then the song is sexy and flattering. If you don’t then the lyrics are creepy and predatory. It’s up to the listener. Either you found the man of your dreams or a restraining order is the next step,” says Marty McCoy.

HORNDAL to Make Speech at Örebro University

Swedish rust metal group HORNDAL have announced that vocalist Henrik Levahn will be making an appearance at Örebro University for a guest lecture on October 25. Levahn will be participating in a discussion on company closures and ethics, with regards to both the band’s eponymous hometown and country.

Speaking on the announcement, HORNDAL‘s Henrik Levahn comments: “Professor Magnus Hansson contacted me and asked me to be “the emotional part” of his field. Downsizing, layoffs and shutdowns are very rational with facts and figures, my goal is to give a voice to the feelings of frustration, anger and fear. All of these emotions were a part of my younger years in Horndal when the steel mill was shut down.”

Örebro University professor Magnus Hansson adds: “Their music is all about people living in Horndal, the closure of the mill there and the town’s slow decay. My previous research has focused on company closures. I have tried to describe and analyse what happens in a corporate organisation after deciding to close and until its employees go home for the last time. We were brought together, with our different perspectives, by common issues. Sharing the same interests, enthusiasm, and commitment to understanding dying mill towns, closures and – in my case – organisational mortality.”

HORNDAL are no strangers to voicing their concerns and offering critique on the pitfalls of big tech and post-industrial decline, with their 2021 album Lake Drinker and follow-up EP Be Evil both exploring themes of the real world consequences of American tech on Horndal and beyond.

The guest lecture is planned for 25 October, 9:15am –12:00pm CEST, in lecture hall M at Örebro University. HORNDAL‘s Henrik Levahn will participate via Zoom.

HORNDAL‘s latest release, Be Evil, is out now.

CAVERN DEEP Cover Video for Philip Glass’ Song ‘Koyaanisqatsi’

Doom distributors CAVERN DEEP have released a new video for their cover of “Koyaanisqatsi” by Philip Glass which recently premiered at The Obelisk. The premiere can be viewed here.

The track can also be purchased from the bands Bandcamp page here: https://caverndeep.bandcamp.com/music

“We in Cavern Deep have been working a lot behind the curtain lately to get some new music out into the world. Our 2nd album is already mixed and mastered, and we have a lot of interesting single releases in the works as well. One of them features Thomas V Jäger from Monolord.

So there will be a steady stream of releases from now on and this is the first of them. We have made a cover of “Koyaanisqatsi”, a Philip Glass piece that features in the movie with the same name. Our thinking was to make a cover of a non-Doom song that still Dooms more than any Doom we have ever heard.

Enjoy!”

VICTORIA K Release Music Video ‘Pomegranate’, New Album Out Now

Australia’s VICTORIA K‘s new sophomore album “Kore” is now available via Rockshots Records and to celebrate its release day today, the band is sharing their new music video for the track “Pomegranate“, which was the first song that was developed for the album.

The band explains the track: “Being the first song we wrote for the record, the whole album’s sound ended up being based off this one song. Certain parts of this song take reference again from old ethnic folk sounds and scales. We wanted to incorporate ethnic instruments such as the hammered dulcimer and touberleki, (the Greek hand drum), both these sounds directly coming from Victoria Knights upbringing, we are really proud to incorporate this old and ethnic culture into our music in order to create a new sonic experience. The section of the tale that this song derives from the part of the story where Persephone eats the six pomegranate seeds, ultimately keeping her trapped in Hades for 6 months each year. We wanted to capture the feeling and emotions that come from this part of the story through the sound and lyrics. The feeling of being utterly, trapped, lost and in a state of desperation. One thing that we believe makes this song a point of difference from the rest of the album is the monologue in the song, which is taken directly from the original ancient Greek text (Homeric Hymn to Demeter) that tells this part of the story. We wanted to add a piece of authentic history to the record!“

Digital – https://bfan.link/kore-2

“Kore” explores modern-day issues through the Homeric Hymn to Demeter (the story of Persephone). Victoria K conceptualized the idea for the album with her producer Lee Bradshaw and then spent many months researching and analyzing the Homeric Hymn to Demeter, even meeting with experts of the Homeric Hymns from Greece. The story was then broken up into its different parts where Victoria Knight wrote the lyrics and developed the melodies for each section of the tale, exploring the myth from a modern perspective.

The tracks were written specifically to encapsulate the various sections of the Homeric Hymn to Demeter and tell the story chronologically through each song and the music grows in intensity throughout the record capturing the emotional state of Persephone and other characters as the story progresses.

The various instruments on “Kore” were then written by Victoria around the lyrics and further enhanced and developed through the production process. Lee Bradshaw then finalized the songs by writing orchestral scores for each song, which were recorded live in Europe, before the final mixing and mastering.

“We wanted to take a new approach with this record and to grow our sound and bring something new to Victoria K. Incorporating sounds from our vocalist’s ethnic culture and heritage is something we are so extremely proud of! A concept album is something we really wanted to explore, and we are so excited to bring you this ancient story and create a sonic experience and journey for all our listeners. We cannot wait to share this new stage of Victoria K!” adds Knight.
