CONAN Celebrate Album Release with New Single & Lyric Video ‘Ritual Of Anonymity’

Bow down and hail CONAN, as England’s doom metal masters strike back again: Following their much acclaimed 2018 full-length, Existential Void Guardian, and their Live at Freak Valley record released just last year, the trio’s fifth studio album, Evidence of Immortality, is out now on Napalm Records!

CONAN’s new magnum opus overruns you like a steamroller. The British kings of brutally heavy slowness push their down-tuned axes and cranked pedals to the limit, crushing ears and minds when huge, rumbling chords and malevolent riffs muscle their way in over lances of infinite distortion and drums that pummel and thunder like the hands of a god against the gates of hell. As previously released album singles proved, CONAN are the masters of their craft, while Jon Davis spits his lyrics over the uber-synchronized power chord changes and tempo shifts of the unholy trio of bass, drums and guitar.

To celebrate their new album in style, today, CONAN have shared a colossal new single, “Ritual Of Anonymity”, alongside a lyric video.

Says Jon Paul Davis:
““Hey everyone, this is Jon. So, the album is out and soon to be in your hands, and then your ears. We are excited for you hear what we have created, so set some time aside, turn this up and enjoy. We also created a third video, this time for ‘Ritual of Anonymity’.

KILL KILL KILL.”

Evidence of Immortality was produced by Chris Fielding and mastered by James Plotkin. The album also sees former band member Dave Perry perform on the track “Grief Sequence”. The album’s artwork was provided by the skilled hand and mind of Tony Roberts, architect of the CONAN visual style since day one and their debut release, Horseback Battle Hammer.

“Evidence of Immortality was written between December 2019 and late 2021. As such, it has absorbed a lot of the emotions that were flowing through our lives then,” Davis explains. “The lyrics were written on the eve of the war in Ukraine so, naturally, they deal with subjects such as victory and defeat, loss and hope, pain and determination, fear and hatred. Movies such as Conquest, Lord of The Rings, Fire and Ice, Krull, Beast Master and Clash of The Titans once again provided inspiration for the themes of the songs, as we maintain our determination to not write about real world events. You want to escape? Throw this record on, turn the lights off and turn it up until your fucking ears bleed.”

After the release of their debut album “Dead Reckoning” in 2021 via Noble Demon, followed by several single releases, OCEANHOARSE like to stay busy and are perhaps one of the most notable and hardworking newcomers out there right now. This is also proven by the latest single of the quartet from Helsinki, which already gives a remarkable first glimpse into a new album the band is currently working on! “Nails” is not only a powerful and melodic heavy metal banger, as we are used to from Oceanhoarse, but also features Martin Lopez from Swedish progressive metal masters SOEN on percussion!

Listen to “Nails” HERE

Ben Varon comments:

“We went into the writing of the second Oceanhoarse album knowing that we wanted to expand on our sound from the debut, and also to have even more of a raw, live feel to the music. ‘Nails’ is a good example of this, as it’s something way more melodic than the material on our first album. We’re playing with dynamics much more this time around, which really helps with the mood of the song.“

He continues:

“Getting Martin Lopez to play percussion on this album was such a cool thing. Especially for myself, as I’ve been a huge fan of his playing ever since I first discovered Opeth’s ‘Still Life’ album. We had a couple of songs that we felt could really use some percussion on them, and Martin was kind enough to lend his talents. ‘Nails’ was already one of my favourite of all the new songs, and Mr Lopez’s percussion work was the icing on the cake!”

Furthermore, Oceanhoarse will soon embark on an extensive European tour in support of fellow Swedes SOEN. Tickets are on sale now and the dates are as follows:

SARCATOR Announce New Album; Share Music Video for ‘Grave Maggot Future’

Following their s/t debut album, October 21st will see the release of “Alkahest”, the sophomore full length record by Swedish blackened thrash metallers SARCATOR. With the music video for “Grave Maggot Future”, the band has shared a first intensive insight into the album, which can be seen below.

The band comments:

Grave Maggot Future, three words that connected right away with the song. It’s an apocalyptic and thrashy punk-bomb that we felt would be a suiting first single. It is the first glimpse of what you may find on this album, along with lawless madness and ambient serenity.

They continue:

On the new album Alkahest, we kept progressing forward in our approach, with new territories explored. It is a heartfelt album with a broader palette of influences and inspiration. Stay tuned!

Being only between 17 and 23 years old, the four young gentlemen of Sarcator started with Metallica covers and after working on their own material, they went to Studio-MT in their hometown to record their debut album, which was released in November 2020. Just a few months after the release they got nominated to Best Swedish Metal Group for the 2021 edition of the radio listeners award “P3 Guld”. Even if they lost out to LIK it was still a major confirmation that the band is on the right path. The music is heavily inspired by Metallica, Slayer as well as the German teutonic thrash metal wave and melodic death metal like The Crown and At The Gates. The Crown influences probably came by birth as the line-up features The Crown’s Marko Tervonen’s son Mateo Tervonen. This is the kind of death thrash that most old school fans live for.

Here and now, a few years later, the band’s second album is about to be released, showing a more mature sound as well as a greater influence from bands like Dissection and Morbid Angel. “Alkahest” will be coming out via Black Lion Records and is now available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION

Tracklist:

  1. Ascend
  2. Perdition’s Hand
  3. Grave Maggot Future
  4. Dreameater
  5. The Long Lost
  6. He Who Comes from the Dark
  7. Devil Sun
  8. Sorrow’s Verse
  9. Alkahest

JORDAN RED to Release Debut Album “Hands That Built The World” on November 11th

Recorded at Long Wave Studios and Produced, Mixed and Mastered by Romesh Dodangoda (Those Damn Crows, Inglorious, Motorhead, Nova Twins, Don Broco), UK hard rock band, JORDAN RED, have unveiled details of their forthcoming debut album.

‘Hands That Built The World’ fuses melodic elements of 21st-century rock and alternative metal with high energy pulses of modern punk. Jordan Red taps into the human psyche with a collection of songs that subconsciously and unconsciously tackle what it means to simply ‘be’ in fast, furious, and often difficult times.

Watch ‘Hands That Built The World’ (official trailer):

Watch ‘Spilling My Blood’ (official lyric video): https://youtu.be/in81eD0GHIA

Produced by 12 Inch Media (Alter Bridge, Five Finger Death Punch, Nothing More).

The band have announced that a new song ‘Before They Burn Us All’ will be available as an instant grat track with all album pre-orders via iTunes and Jordan Red’s online store from Friday 19th August.

The story so far… Dan Baker had been looking for a great frontman when the guitarist realised he knew Daniel Leigh (New Device frontman) through mutual friends. The duo started demoing material and it wasn’t long before they were joined by Conor O’Keefe (Bass) and Dave Fee (Drums) from the band As Lions (Better Noise Music) to record enough material for what would become their debut album, ‘Hands That Built The World’.

The concept of Jordan Red is rooted in the band’s need to seek out the truth by viewing reality through a ‘red pill’ lens. The character behind the band name was created by combining the first name of clinical psychologist Dr Jordan B Peterson and the idea of taking the Red Pill as portrayed in pop culture classic film ‘The Matrix’.

This was, and remains, a way for the group to always remember their purpose and stay true to themselves. even during the most challenging of times when the pandemic gripped and Jordan Red were primed to begin premiering their new music.

What unfolded over the course of the next few months in 2020 was far beyond anything they could have imagined when launching Jordan Red. The UK and Europe descended into chaos, panic and confusion at the emergence of a new virus. Feelings of uncertainty seemed to overtake rational behaviour as people retreated inside.

Launching Jordan Red in the middle of a global pandemic was never part of the plan but it allowed the band an opportunity to get creative with their music releases and connect with global audiences.

Now, finally, Jordan Red is ready to reveal the collection of songs that is their debut album. For fans of melodic hard rock fused with 21st century sonics, ‘Hands That Built The World’ delivers audible tranquillity.

Importantly, ‘Hands That Built The World’ isn’t just a collection of music discussing what’s come before, where we are now, and what’s up ahead for society, as the tracks and lyrical themes deal with what it truly means to be human in any given time and space. This may be Jordan Red’s story and experiences, yet ultimately they reflect on the real human condition navigating the “meta verse”, finding reality outside of the virtual, and like the band, this simply can’t be ignored.

IRIST Return with New EP “Gloria”, Out September 16th

IRIST, the Atlanta-by-way-of-South America band whose explosive 2020 debut album, Order of the Mind, was “one of the most buzzed about metal debuts of the year” (Brooklyn Vegan), return with the Gloria EP on Sept. 16, via Nuclear Blast Records.

A preview of the five-song release is available now, with Revolver showcasing the Scott Rudd-created lyric video for ‘Heal‘.

Watch the premiere at Revolver HERE. Stream ‘Heal‘ here: https://bfan.link/Irist-Heal

“When we wrote ‘Heal,’ I was trying to describe our inability as humans to face reality,” explains singer Rodrigo Carvalho. “My own dealing with pain and loss was what inspired me to write these lyrics. I never know what people may get out of my lyrics, but I hope that it particularly connects with those going through a rough patch in life.”

The EP, which once again finds the band’s music mixed by Matt Bayles (MASTODON/ISIS), comes after a hindered rollout for what many predicted was going to launch the band as one of the more prominent new bands in heavy music. Kerrang! declared the four-piece “one of 2020’s most important metal acts” and Revolver dubbed the 10-song album one of the year’s “finest metal albums.” With a release, and tour, slated for the Spring of 2020, the band was sidelined in the wake of international lockdowns, with Carvalho moving back to Brazil and guitar player Pablo Davila moving to Texas to work in an Austin COVID-ward.

“We still wrote a bit despite the distance,” adds Carvalho, “Musically, we began to explore more melodic vocal lines, and we added synth, noise, and electronic element. We write intense melodies and frantic beats to convey what’s in our lyrics.”

Now, with the Gloria EP on the horizon, as well as dates with PALLBEARER, ELDER and upcoming record releases shows, guitar player Pablo Davila is eager for the band to pick up where they left off: “We couldn’t be more excited and grateful to be releasing new music. It’s really important to me that the music reflect what Rodrigo is saying, and vice versa, and with ‘Heal’ we wanted to convey something painful and at the same time hopeful.”

GAUPA Release Video for New Single ‘Diametrical Enchantress’

Unique Swedish rock band GAUPA are excited to unveil the second single from their forthcoming album, Myriad, which is to be released on November 18, 2022 via Nuclear Blast Records. The song is called ‘Diametrical Enchantress‘ and will instantly catch you with its entrancing half-time groove and singer Emma Näslund’s unique vocal delivery. As with previous single, ‘RA‘, GAUPA have produced an inventive and trippy, visually stunning music video for the song, which you can watch below.

GAUPA‘s sophomore album Myriad features eight diverse and exquisitely crafted songs that keep strolling around between progressive rock, psychedelic & stoner rock, doom and folk. An eclectic and unpredictable, yet very mature record by a band that is destined to win over any open-minded music enthusiast from each branch the heavy rock spectrum has to offer.

Emma Näslund (Vocals) comments:
“When people hear that you play music, at first some think it’s really cool.
But when it comes down to it they condemn it.

The time you have to put in to your craft and rehearsals and meetings etc.
Some people think it’s just sliding around in VIP areas on a shrimp sandwich.
Others would argue that it’s time to give up your “hobby” up and do something “real”.

But some things you can’t stop doing.
Art needs be created.
Music needs to be created.
There is always room for more and it’s important to keep going.
I guess some people just needs to create music and art or they’ll implode.

Diametrical Enchantress was the last song we wrote for the album Myriad. It’s freeing because it just came out of us as certainly as mosquitoes in summer.”
