Four-piece Australian alt/rock project HYPERDRIVE STEREO, signed to Golden Robot Records, recently announced that their debut will be released in November 2022, after 20 years in the making.
In the lead up to the album release Hyperdrive Stereo have just dropped the first single ‘Contact‘ off the album, which is available now on all digital platforms.
‘Contact’ is a story of a confused and doomed young couple who have made a series of mistakes that they can’t undo. They have each other for the moment, but their bond won’t be enough to save them from the consequences of their bad choices. The song portrays an un-comforting clouded landscape of tragedy and despair.
Hyperdrive Stereo consists of Mat Robins and Mark Robins from Australian band, Cicadastone, actor/writer/producer/comedian/musician, Jason Gann, (best known for his role as the title character in the Australian comedy series ‘Wilfred,’ and the U.S. reboot of the same name), and Agostino Soldati.
GRIM REAPER singer Steve Grimmett has passed away at the age of 62.
Steve’s passing was confirmed by his brother Mark Grimmett, who wrote on social media: “I don’t really know where to start so I guess I will just come right out with it. It is with great sadness and a very heavy heart that I have to tell you all as many of you know him my very talented brother Steve Grimmett very sadly passed away today, my heart goes out to Millie his wife my Mum and Dad, Russell, Sami and Ethan. I will miss you more than words will ever say, love you bro xx.”

In addition, VOYAGER will be releasing 2021’s ‘A Voyage Through Time’ virtual performance on Blu-ray and LP on August 26, 2022 via Season of Mist! The performance was originally recorded on August 10, 2021 at Magnet House in Perth (AU) and aired on September 5, 2021 in celebration of the anniversary of the Voyager 1 Spacecraft that was launched by NASA. The band previously revealed a clip of their performance for “White Shadow,” which can be seen and heard at THIS LOCATION.
‘A Voyage Through Time’ presents a one-of-a-kind visual and aural performance that outlines the progression of VOYAGER‘s musical career. The virtual live experience with full production is a journey across two decades and seven albums with a fan-voted set list, exploring a new and enhanced approach to the band’s live show.

After releasing it solely as a video clip on their YouTube channel VENOM PRISON are making their blistering cover of Stampin’ Ground’s “Officer Down” available on all digital platforms. The song has finally come full circle, as Century Media Records had released the original on the Stampin’ Ground’s classic album “Carved From Empty Words” in 2000.
VENOM PRISON comments: “Stampin’ Ground is a band we’ve respected and admired even before VENOM PRISON existed and we’ve always toyed with the idea of a cover and never knew what would work with VENOM PRISON. We would listen ‘Carved From Empty Words’ in the van going to shows or on tour. With Stampin’ Ground being a metal/hardcore band this went perfectly in line with VENOM PRISON. We also recorded ‘Erebos’ with Scott Atkins who was a member of Stampin’ Ground and knew from the start Scott would understand us as a band. Our cover goes in line with the original with a slight few changes to make it our own. Enjoy, VENOM PRISON”
Scott Atkins (formerly guitars in Stampin’ Ground) adds: “’Officer Down’ took on a life of its own from the very first time we played it live. It became our biggest song overnight and it’s amazing it’s still seen that way over 20 years later. it was one of those songs that almost wrote itself, like it was meant to be, it’s stood the test of time. It’s been covered by many bands but this version by VENOM PRISON is definitely one of my personal favourites. Having produced their latest album, ‘Erebos’, I’ve had got to know the band very well, it was surprising how their work ethic and influences tied in with those of Stampin’ Ground in many ways. I hope everyone enjoys this new version as much as our original!”

Australian deathcore metal band AS PARADISE FALLS have just revealed a new music video and single entitled “Captain Hero“, which is the second single from their upcoming EP album Madness / Medicine which is scheduled to be released on September 23, 2022 via Eclipse Records. The video was directed by Brida Films, and the EP was produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Shane Edwards (Northlane, Trophy Eyes, Hellions) & Danny Kenneally at Studio 28.
“The meaning of Captain Hero is that life is finite, and it is ultimately pointless despite the value we attribute to it”, says guitarist Danny Kenneally. “The more you try to hold onto it the more time you waste and edge closer to the end. With that in mind, why not have fun living your life and be the real you. This video had no meaning, which in turn ties into the foundations of the song. It’s basically just us having some fun… just an exaggeration of an altered state of ourselves and our personalities. We are here to entertain and make you ask yourself why are you taking yourself so seriously when you can be you and have fun.”
Madness / Medicine by As Paradise Falls is a 5 track EP that will defy what a two piece band is capable of. With the influence of this modern Grime & Hip-Hop, old school Deathcore and a futuristic look on how their music should be perceived, the band teamed up with longtime friend & producer Shane Edwards (Northlane, Trophy Eyes, Hellions) at Studio 28 in Thailand where the 5 tracks were transformed into a modern day monster. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Danny was unable to travel for the mixing/mastering process and resorted to utilizing Facetime and streaming from his home studio to assist with the final process of the EP.
