STORMRULER Announce New Album “Sacred Rites & Black Magick”

St. Louis, MO black metal duo STORMRULER broke out in 2021 with the avid subterranean support of their debut full-length, Under A Burning Eclipse – subsequently garnering scores of acclaim upon its wide re-release via Napalm Records. The album, which Decibel Magazine called, “one of the best black metal albums of the year”, introduced STORMRULER’s beyond-their-years execution of raw, atmospheric black metal doused in extravagant lyricism.

On October 14, 2022, the band consisting of midwestern scene stalwarts Jason Asberry (vocals/guitars/bass) and Jesse Schobel (drums/vocals) return with the aptly-entitled Sacred Rites & Black Magick – this time blistering with more unrelenting intensity while maintaining a haunting, visceral aura more ancient and foreboding than ever. Produced, mixed and mastered by Gabe Usery at Encapsulated Studios and featuring stunning artwork by Giannis Nakos of Remedy Art Design, Sacred Rites & Black Magick weaves epic tales of war, history, black magick and sorcery beyond the standard confines of black metal, birthing an unforgettable conceptual journey of legend that any metal fan would be remiss to ignore.

Today, fans can get a first taste of the album with its sharp debut single, title track “Sacred Rites & Black Magick”. The track sets the supreme lyrical and musical mood of the album itself, depicting just how deftly STORMRULER conjures lucid black metal as they inject energetic, unforgettable grooves and riffs into their scorching delivery. Today’s track release also arrives alongside its grim official music video.

STORMRULER says about “Sacred Rites & Black Magick”:

“We chose Sacred Rites as our first offering for many reasons. We feel as if from the strike of the very first chord it gives off an apparent energy that can be felt throughout the entire album. Lyrically it encompasses the feeling of this record rather well with lyrics ripe of black magick rituals and ancient orders.”

As on Under A Burning Eclipse, between each song on Sacred Rites & Black Magick is an intricately positioned interlude building the ambiance and steering the thematic intensity of the album.

Beginning with echoing, clean dual acoustic guitars, introductory interlude “Hymns Of The Slumbering Race” begins the procession of grand ascension and hair raising riffage to come. “Internal Fulmination Of The Grand Deceivers” flashes STORMRULER’s brand of Imperial Black Metal Warfare, shining with heavy bass and blastbeats before cascading into icy atmosphere topped by smoke-cloaked vocals. Entrancing guitars match an ebb and flow of carefully paced interludes and merciless, speeding fury, showcasing standout leads and a blazing solo. Similar epic songwriting, lush lyricism and skillful dynamics can be witnessed on tracks such as the brooding “Entranced Within The Moon Presence”, intricate “In The Shaded Vlasian Forest” and introspective, glistening “Along The Appian Way”. “To Bear The Twin Faces Of The Dragon” stages some of the most menacing sonic escapades and memorable leads of the 20-track offering, combining chants of sorcery with searing screams and waves of crushing melody, while tracks such as “Upon Frozen Shores” weave a sonic tale of occult doom atop triumphant soundscapes, breakneck rhythms and ghostly melodic passages. Closing battle opus “A Malice Dead & Cold” wraps the album with some of its most threatening riffs and heroic leads, fittingly drawing the curtain on the band’s sophomore excursion.

STORMRULER says about Sacred Rites & Black Magick:

“This album is on another level in comparison to our previous offering. It falls in the same vein of the melodic second wave black metal worship of Under The Burning Eclipse, but with a more intense and darker touch. It’s got the high speed buzzsaw attack we love, crushing grooves, solid leads, ambience within the interludes and acoustic passages, as well as lyrics that tell a story.”

WITHERFALL Comment on MOONSPELL’s Cancellation of North American Tour 2022

WITHERFALL have issued the following comment on MOONSPELL’s cancellation of North American Tour 2022:

Witherfall has absolutely nothing to do with this tour cancellation. We found out during rehearsals that the tour had been pulled, one week before the band were set to fly out to pick up our Bus. Witherfall had every last production detail on our end completely solidified. Airline tickets, Bus, Trailer, Driver, Tour manager , Shipping of Tour merchandise (which has dates printed on them that no longer exist!!!) Rehearsals, Witherfall Beer at venues and countless other expenses that will not be reimbursed. Needless to say, we are devastated by this news. Each one of the aforementioned pieces took months of planning and every detail was carefully managed making this endeavor very time consuming and VERY expensive.

The reality of the math is Witherfall will need to eat the upfront costs of over $12K not including what our crew, and band members will lose because they turned down other work. None of these expenses will be recouped. We apologize to our fans that has had plans that were affected. We had every intention of bearing the cost to put the band out on the road. Again, we had everything planned and were ready and excited to get to play and meet the fans coming out.

We are extremely upset by this last minute rug pull. Even the best case scenario the band would still be operating at a loss but that is the price of bringing our music to you all. If you’d like to purchase a souvenir of tour and support the band (Tour Funeral Expenses) you can get one of these packages or a shirt here: https://linktr.ee/Witherfall

“Yes, me and Voi are in the studio working on new songs.
A week ago it was announcent that I will not be part of the 2nd album due to my injury, but everything is good now and there is no way I will leave this project which i founded together with my bro Voi.
We are totally focused on new stuff and we will do everything to make this record.
As always we write the songs for ourselves like we did on ‘Negative’, so you can expect no less or more so melodic for sure.
As for now we can not confirmed the studio line up, but lets say there won’t be much changes if any 😉
We will leave that part a side for now till the new single.

AMARANTHE Release New Cinematic Version of Their Hit Single ‘Strong’

Swedish metal heroes AMARANTHE continue to showcase their versatility and eclectic musical taste. After having released a beautiful orchestral version of their power ballad ‘Crystalline‘ and a flamenco-tinged acoustic rendition of their banger ‘Adrenaline‘ they are now following up with a “cinematic” version of their hit single ‘Strong‘ on which – again – the heavy guitars make way for atmospheric synth layers and orchestral arrangements, giving the song a more laid-back and at the same time very enchanting theatrical feel. You can check out this new interpretation below.

BUY / LISTEN TO AMARANTHE – ‘STRONG (CINEMATIC VERSION)’ HERE.

AMARANTHE comment:
“One of the true high points of the MANIFEST sessions was creating the bonustracks – after being incredibly happy with the final mix of the main album, we still had an influx of creative energy left in us. The cinematic version of “Strong” was born from just such a momentum, as we wanted to display a totally different side of the song, as well are our own musical output. We truly hope that you will enjoy this different, and very epic side of Amaranthe!”

AMARANTHE have spent the last decade establishing themselves as a formidable, positive and fervently melodic force for metallic good. From their explosive self-titled debut in 2011 to the more sophisticated, streamlined likes of 2014’s Massive Addictive and its immaculate follow-up Maximalism (2016), AMARANTHE have masterfully blurred the lines between melodic metal, crushing brutality, cinematic sweep and futuristic sparkle. Led by the endlessly ingenious songwriting of guitarist OlofMörck and powerhouse vocalist Elize Ryd, their rise to prominence has been a joy to behold.

Widely acclaimed as a dazzling live act, the Swedes reached a new peak of creativity on 2018’s hugely successful Helix: an album that pushed the band’s vision to new heights, breadths and depths, while showcasing the brilliance of Elize and her co-vocalist, recent recruit Nils Molin.

Not just a glorious return but a wholesale upgrade for their exuberant sound, Manifest is simply the most daring, dynamic and unforgettable album that AMARANTHE have released to date. The perfect antidote to the nagging anxieties plaguing us all in these troubled times, it’s a Technicolor celebration of metal’s ageless power, blazing with all of life’s colours and chaos, but delivered with utmost artistry and skill.

In October and November of 2022, AMARANTHE will be on tour together with BEYOND THE BLACK. Since the tour had to be postponed, both bands can’t wait to hit the road again and spend unforgettable nights with their fans all around Europe! Furthermore, both BUTCHER BABIES and AD INFINITUM will join the tour as special guests.

Vivaldi Metal Project will perform songs from their new album “EpiClassica” as well as hits from their previous releases.

Freija’s repertoire recreates Scandinavian folk songs, covers of Wardruna and other Scandinavian bands, as well as contemporary songs on the same theme. The group also creates its own original compositions in Norwegian and Finnish, once again singing the mythical stories of gods and creatures from the Viking sagas. Freija will scatter the Northern Lights with ancient legends and rituals in an epic battle for Valhalla, giving new life to some forgotten plots and values of the past.

A journey that began in Central-Brazil, took the band BEHIND THE HORROR to New Jersey (USA), with a burning passion for metal. With the influence of big names like Sepultura, Metallica and Death, the duo created a unique vision of modern metal and crossed the limits, presenting a sound that goes beyond conventional metal.

To launch the project to the world, the band Behind The Horror shares the single “BurnUp This Truth”, the second promo for their debut album, titled ‘Burnup The Truth’, to be released later this year.

LISTEN “BurnUp This Truth”:https://open.spotify.com

“BurnUp This Truth” brings a lot of feeling wrapped in heavy riffs with eight-string guitars and pulsating drums. “For all those who share that same feeling of love and passion for a dream, for all those who still believe that there is hope and who know that every day is a day of battle and that the enemy never sleeps. For all those who even in the tornado of mishaps that is life hear a distant voice that screams for you not to give up and know that surrender will never be an option. For all those who look at the world and want to change it. Know that we are with you”, said vocalist and guitarist Gabriel Alves.
