Finnish rock bands MANZANA, GENTLE SAVAGE and RYLOS join forces and share the stage playing shows during the upcoming autumn and winter seasons. They serve a tight combo show called ‘ROAD TO NEON WAYLAY’ performing songs from their latest albums Neon Darkness, Midnight Waylay and Solar works pt. 2. Neon Waylay show introduces a thorough cross-section of their music and the show is a guaranteed ‘This house is on fire’ experience. Every band plays a 30-40 minutes set so it’s a full rocking night for the listener.

Watch the teaser below.

Female fronted MANZANA is known as a hard working and actively touring live band. Their latest release ‘Neon Darkness’ has catchy choruses and vocalist Piritta Lumous’ performance puts the party on no matter what.

GENTLE SAVAGE is about melodic heavy and hard rock riffing with groovy tunes, long solos and Tarzan like vocal approach. Their Midnight Waylay album has warmed the hearts of the critics in many countries and you can tell that their songs have little something for every rocker to dig into.

RYLOS rummages their rock music adding odd time signatures to a melodic mixture of craziness. Their energetic performances are known to twist the listeners brains sending their minds to the orbit.

Brucia Records is proud to present HEGEMONE‘s highly anticipated third album, “Voyance“, on digipak CD and digital formats. The album will be released on September 15th 2022.

The new single “Inference” is now premiering at No Clean Singing. Stream it at THIS LOCATION.

The first single “Odium” was premiered at IDIOTEQ, check it out HERE.

After releasing 2 previous LPs, HEGEMONE are back with an incredibly ambitious work, shaping their already bleak and oppressive sound into something even more grandiose, desperate and terrifying.

“Voyance” is an incredibly inspired album, conjuring suffering and a sense of calamity by carefully combining gloomy and gelid Black Metal with the savagery of hardcore and the heaviness of sludge: Folk instruments, electronic frequencies and freezingly cold riffs are all placed inside a massively dissonant wall of sound, creating a truly unique sonic nightmare.

A titanically heavy album, building a monumental and uncompromising architecture of rage, tension, disquiet and pain.

Tracklist:

01 – Nourishment (7:33)
02 – Solace (4:49)
03 – Odium (5:58)
04 – Sermon (9:58)

06- Inference (6:22)

SHINAI Releases New Single + Video ‘Starlight’

St. Petersburg. Russia’s SHINAI was formed after Evgeniy Bolshakov’s previous band broke up. Looking to have full creative control and drive the direction of his endeavors, he started a new solo project last year and is now ready to show off the fruits of his labor.

Inspired by bands like Architects, Wage War, and Bleed from Within, Bolshakov initially started writing only technical deathcore, but with experience and after studying musical theory he started paying more attention to the harmonies, which opened his mind to other genres such as indie rock and pop. Taking inspiration from those, and refusing to settle into a single genre he creates a sincere sound that will pique the interest of both casual listeners and heavy music veterans. He shares his thoughts on the debut album “Here and Now”:

“In the music, I tried to convey the mood of furious forward motion. It’s a very energetic and daring composition with really strong melodic moves. The idea that I wanted to convey with the lyrics: Try to achieve everything yourself, don’t wait for someone to pull you out of the darkness. Have a goal, evolve and let unnecessary people go. Don’t let yourself be used.”

Throughout 2021, he released the title track “Here And Now” and single “Leap of Faith” as music videos leading up to the release of the debut full-length. This follow up single “Starlight” is a glimpse of what is to come, there are more songs in the works.

Bolshakov has high expectations for this new offering, which he thinks will be appreciated by a diverse group of listeners, especially the chorus and solo. He has been working on this for almost a year, composed entirely on his own, complemented with electronic and cinematic effects and wrapped up with heartfelt lyrics.

Technical, and progressive, Shinai is recommended listening for fans of Bleed From Within, Wage War and Polaris.

“Starlight” can be heard via its music video premiere on TheCirclePit.

About:

One-man band project “Shinai” was created in August 2021 by Evgeny Bolshakov from St. Petersburg, Russia. Evgeny was known for his Deathcore project “Bite The Goat” where he took part as a composer, guitarist and backing vocalist. At that time Evgeny had written 8 tracks for the album, which never saw the light in Bite the Goat’s creativity because of the collective breakup. That’s why he decided to create his own project and released an album consisting of these songs. That’s how the history of the Shinai project started.

The album was called “Here and Now”, the recording of which involved the not unknown OUTCAST vocalist Igor Kapranov, as well as a guest vocalist Asya Zelenaya. The album received a lot of positive feedback from heavy music fans and was the beginning of determining the musical direction of the project. Also 3 music videos were released for the album. At the moment new single “Starlight” is being prepared for release August 2022, which took more than half a year to prepare. This single is the end of the past and a push towards a new future. There will also be a music video to accompany the single.

Following the announcement about the September 30th release date of RORY GALLAGHER’s “Deuce” 50th Anniversary Edition Deluxe Boxset of his critically acclaimed 1971 sophomore album, two rare tracks will be available to stream from Friday August 19th. These include the never-before-released “Crest Of A Wave” (Alt. Take 2) and “Used To Be (50th Anniversary Edition). Both tracks can be streamed from https://RoryGallagher.lnk.to/COAW-alt.

The album is available to pre-order from https://RoryGallagher.lnk.to/Deuce_50.

The package will contain a 64-page hardback book with a foreword by Johnny Marr of The Smiths, unseen images by the late Mick Rock, essays, and memorabilia from the album recording. “There was one day when I was playing along with the Deuce album which was a complete turning point for me as a guitar player.” – Johnny Marr

Released in November 1971, just six months after his eponymous solo debut, Rory Gallagher’s second album, Deuce, was the summation of all that he’d promised in the wake of Taste’s collapse. Rory wanted to capture the feeling of a live performance, so he would look to record immediately after live concerts while keeping production to a minimum.

He chose Tangerine Studios, a small reggae studio, in Dalston in East London, due it’s history with legendary producer Joe Meek. With Gerry McAvoy on bass guitar and Wilgar Campbell on drums, the album was engineered by Robin Sylvester and produced by Rory. Deuce features many Rory highlights, from the blistering Crest Of A Wave to the Celtic-infused I’m Not Awake Yet.

When asked “How does it feel to be the best guitarist in the world,”
Jimi replied: “I don’t know, why don’t you go and ask Rory Gallagher.” – Jimi Hendrix

“There are a million guys who sound like Stevie Ray Vaughan, but I never
heard anybody who could really pull off sounding like Rory Gallagher.” – Slash

” As soon as I heard Cradle Rock, I was hooked.
I thought, ‘This is what I want to be when I grow up.” – Joe Bonamassa

“I really liked Rory, he was fine guitarist and singer and lovely man.” – Jimmy Page

“He was just a magician, he’s one of the very few people of that time who could make his guitar do anything it seemed. It just seemed to be magic. I remember looking at that battered Stratocaster and thinking how does that come out of there?” – Brian May

“The man who changed my musical life was Rory Gallagher,
I picked up a guitar because of him.” – Johnny Marr

“A beautiful man and an amazing guitar player. He was
a very sensitive man and a great musician.” – The Edge

“An amazing player, very spirited… he had a particular sound using
that Stratocaster and he really got it because of the brute force in
the way that he played, he just had such a passion about it.” – Joe Satriani

ANGMODNES Unleash Brand New Single ‘Under Darkened Vaults’

Utrecht, Netherlands -based funeral doom metallers ANGMODNES will issue their highly anticipated new album, entitled “The Weight of Eternity”, on September 30th via Black Lion Records.

“The Weight of Eternity” is Angmodnes’ first offering; an album in the works since 2013 and finally completed in 2022. Within its 36 minutes and 21-second runtime, it paints an utterly bleak and hopeless picture of one damned to live on forever, after everything and everyone has long since passed away. The doom laid upon this wretched soul can be seen metaphorically, as those who have lost any sense of attachment to this world and who are so far removed from life as to scarcely be able to think about anything other than death, are they not just as alone?

In support of the new album, Angmodnes have just unleashed “Under Darkened Vaults”, the first single from the upcoming full-length, which is nothing less than an almost 15-minute massive journey into the deepest spheres of funeral doom! The track comes along with a brand new lyric video, streaming here:

The band comments:

Under Darkened Vaults is a redacted excerpt from a text by the Romanian writer Emil Cioran. It is about ways in which those who are so far removed from life have learned to hide from its tireless oppressive pointlessness. For those who suffer from extreme existential despair it can become tempting to develop a morbid devotion to one’s despondency.

“The Weight of Eternity” offers three captivating tracks and is highly recommended for fans of Evoken, Frowning, Shape Of Despair and AHAB. The album is available for pre-order HERE

Tracklist:

  1. Weight Of Eternity
  2. Hollow Earth
  3. Under Darkened Vaults

Angmodnes are:
Y.S. – Compositions, guitars, bass, vocals, recording, mixing & mastering
M.V. – Drums
F.S. – Vocals

BOREALIS Return with New Album “Illusions”, Share Lyric Video for First Single

Canadian melodic metallers BOREALIS have announced the release of their fifth studio album, entitled “Illusions”, which will be out on October 7, 2022 via AFM Records!

With their critically acclaimed debut in 2008, BOREALIS took the heavy music scene by storm, and seen them opening for several metal greats such as Epica, Sonata Artica, Saxon or Kamelot to name just a few. Four years since 2018’s “The Offering”, BOREALIS returns with their brand new magnum opus, arguably marking the bands most complete album to date while adding more orchestral elements and darker themes. The album not only introduces composer and multi-instrumentalist Vikram Shankar (Silent Skies, Redemption, Lux Terminus), who was brought in to compose all of the orchestra and synth elements, but “Illusions” is also a continuation of the story from “The Offering”, taking place years later through the eyes of the children and how the traumatic events they experienced has shaped their lives.

“We are so excited to release this new record, considering how long it’s been and what the world has been through over the last 2 years!“ Singer and guitarist Matt Marinelli comments. “With the extra time we had with this one, we feel like these are some of the best songs we’ve ever written. Some of the songs were written way back in 2019 so we’ve had time to really perfect them.”

Today, BOREALIS shared a lyric video for first album single “Pray For Water”! “We wanted a textbook Borealis song on the album, something where, as soon as you hear it you know it’s us,” Matt says. “Using the continuation from The Offering (2018), this album is about the surviving children and how they’re coping years later. This song in particular is about one of them praying for the sacrifice to be stopped.“

About the band’s sound development and their cooperation with Vikram, guitarist Ken Fobert explains: “We had been fans of Vik’s music and content for years and with this album, we really wanted to bring it to another level. We didn’t want to do the same old thing this time around with just adding strings and orchestra. We did do that, but we also wanted to incorporate more synth elements and weird futuristic sounds to give these songs a bit of a different vibe and character than what you would typically expect from us. I think with the phenomenal composing that Vik did for these songs, we were able to achieve that.”

“Illusions” was produced by BOREALIS, engineered and mixed by the band‘s drummer, Sean Dowell, and was mastered by Thomas “Plec “ Johansson. Slated for a release on October 7th, the album pre-sale is now available at THIS LOCATION!

“Illusions” track listing:

  1. Illusions feat. Christine Hals
  2. Ashes Turn To Rain
  3. My Fortress
  4. Pray For Water
  5. Burning Tears feat. Lynsey Ward
  6. Believer
  7. Light Of The Sun
  8. Face Of Reality
  9. Bury Me Alive
  10. Abandon All Hope
  11. The Phantom Silence
