GHOST IN THE MACHINE Release New Maxi-Single ‘Muevete’

Muevete, US rocktronica project GHOST IN THE MACHINE, is a world fusion of EDM and rock shaped by a Spanish influence. Inspired by nightlife and Flamenco of southern Spain, acoustic guitars play dark and tense passages over heavy bass and a solid beat. Rock, electronic and industrial elements intermingle creating the atmosphere. Vocalists C4 and Caela play off each other singing themes of dancing, festival, freedom, expression, celebration and enjoying life to the fullest.

The single includes 2 remixes from genius DJ/producer Erik Lee. Virus (Erik Lee Remix) is eerie tech-house with drone filtered synths that eventually devour the song. A musical expression of the pandemic invoking overwhelming feelings of frustration and fear. Rodeo (Erik Lee Remix) exudes attitude with a pushing groovy beat and moody synths under crunchy guitars. It also features seductive guest vocals of Caela.

The Muevete single is accompanied by a music video and is set in those Spanish quarter streets where things go bump in the night and shadowy figures lurk down dark alley ways. During a fiesta, strangers meet and live life to the fullest. In that madness, could they find a special connection?

Track list:
01. Muevete | 02. Virus (Erik Lee Remix) | 03. Rodeo (Erik Lee Remix)

Following the recent news that AUTOPSY will be soon serving up a new slice of supreme sickness, in the form of their long-awaited new studio album ‘Morbidity Triumphant’ on 30 September, the band have revealed the first track in the form of the darkly sickening, creepily menacingly delicious “Skin By Skin” lyric video created by Matthew Vickerstaff (IG @Matthew_Vickerstaff  / FB @Matthew Vickerstaff).

“Here’s one to crawl under your skin and rot you from the inside out. Eric Cutler has a knack for writing riffs that creep even us, the band out and this song is a perfect example of that. Get ready to feel uncomfortable, foam at the mouth and bang your fiendish head at the same time!” – Chris Reifert

“Skin By Skin” is now available as a digital single on all streaming platforms. Pre-order the album here.

EPICA, New Music Coming Winter 2022 – “Not your typical Epica album”, Says Front Woman Simone Simons

Posted by tarjavirmakari on August 20, 2022
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Epica, Simone Simons, The Metal Voice. 1 Comment

Jimmy Kay and Perrin Wolfson from Canada’s The Metal Voice recently interviewed Epica‘s Lead singer Simone Simons. She talks about the band celebrating their 20 year anniversary with the release of “Live At Paradiso” (Sept 2) as well as re-issues their first three (“The Phantom Agony”, “Consign To Oblivion” and “The Score”), albums and  the Livestream show on  September 3, 2022.

In the chat Simmons also gives a quick update on the band’s upcoming studio album and talks about her favorite movies.

Tell us why the “Live At Paradiso” is being released now as it was recorded back in 2006
“It was buried very very deep in a lot of paperwork and we had to figure all of that out so after digging our way through the paperwork and legal stuff we got our hands on this recording. Back in the day when we recorded the  DVD we also had the book which oh I should have mentioned. But the show was never released and of course time went by. We had a switch of record companies and we’ve been just so super super busy that we kind of  lost track and weren’t in the mood to dig through all the paperwork that was necessary in order to retrieve it. Also the footage itself was never finalized, so it was basically lying in a box somewhere in the attic and waiting to be used. We actually did have to process the whole footage that we had in order to make it uh you know watchable.  It’s vintage Epica, it’s a little treasure. We always do our very best to wrap it extra nicely with the artwork and everything.  We are trying to draw the people into the Epica universe and in the background you see the artwork of all the other albums integrated into it to make it a nice little Epic package.”

Tell us about the upcoming live stream event on Sept 3 and the setlist
“The Setlist is a little bit of a mixture, yeah definitely we have of course the latest album Omega which we never gotten  a real chance to promote due to the pandemic but of course we are going to go through all the years of all the albums. So definitely some rare tracks and some visually  pleasing  guest appearances.  I guess yeah, it’s going to be an epic show. The Livestream show is with a live crowd, it’s an actual show and around 3 000 people will be there and it’s sold out but you can also watch the Livestream.”

Tell us if you have any new music coming or a new album in the works
“We have new music that will be released later this year and it’s not your typical Epica album. It’s something we’ve never done before, so definitely  worth the anticipation . It will be released I think in early winter or something like that, let’s say early winter(2022). If it comes earlier than that it’s always better. We’re working on the artwork at the moment, we have the  singles ready, I already shot a video for one of the songs so yeah it’s some new music. It’s a busy year for Epica. We’ve been busy during the pandemic with non-touring things and working behind the scenes on this. We like to call it  the Secret Project. We have an online fan community which is called ‘Epic Universe’ and there we have been already spoiling a little bit of what the secret project is about so if people are curious they’re welcome to join Epic Universe.  On the Epic Universe the fan club we’ve been posing a little bit behind the scenes things and you can hear like choir bits and pieces and orchestration.

When asked is there are still comparisons between Epica and Nightwish today
“For people that are not familiar with metal music they are often compared to each other and there are definitely some similarities. I think Epica is, Epic Metal or I would call it Cinematic Metal. It’s very different to Nightwish because Nightwish also changed their style a little bit their style on the last two albums. Epica has also been working since day one on our own unique style and with each new band member that came, a new songwriter also contributed to the sound of Epica. So we have we have basically five songwriters within the band  that creates Epica.”

EXIT IMMORTAL Return with New Single + Video ‘Flare’

UK progressive metal juggernauts, EXIT IMMORTAL, return with their new single ‘Flare’. The track is taken from the quintet’s upcoming full-length, self-titled album due 14th October via Seek and Strike.

‘Flare’ features crushing dual guitar madness backed with catchy, soaring melodies and hooks.

On the new single, vocalist Meyrick de la Fuente states:

“Our new single ‘Flare’ is a rallying call to anyone who has simply had enough. We are all fed up of things we’ve seen over the past few years and we won’t be afraid to join together with others and fight back. The song signals a return to our heavier roots, but brings together all the aspects we have explored over our last couple of releases. It came together as one of the first songs for this new album and it was clear that it would be a guiding light for how the rest of the songs would turn out and grow during the writing process. We are EXIM and this is who we are. We are for everyone who wants to join us on this journey.”

On the upcoming full-length album, the band comment:

“We are very excited to present our latest, self-titled, full length album. For us this is a culmination of a lot of work, building and evolving. We bring back a lot of the heavier elements from our older releases while keeping a lot of the aesthetics and layers from Triptych. As musicians we have always struggled with where to place ourselves amongst our peers and always written music we wanted to make over intentionally fitting into existing trends. We feel that this album is by far our most accomplished and self-assured record to date, reincorporating harsh vocals while exploring new territory on the guitar side of things.”

In celebration of the album’s release date, Exist Immortal will be embarking on a string of UK-based tour dates, including a headline set in Camden’s intimate Black Heart on release day.

“We are bringing our biggest and best headline show we have ever toured with us and will be playing new songs alongside fan favourites, so old and new fans alike will experience something fresh. Our new record is set for an 14th October release, which we feel is easily our best work to date drawing influence from our entire back catalogue of music into the most refined, truest version of EXIM. This London show will be the official launch party of the new album and we are so excited that this show and iconic venue will be the very first time this new era is brought into the world.”

Full tour dates below:
14.10 – London, Black Heart
26.10 – Bristol, Crofters Rights
27.10 – Sheffield, Corporation
28.10 – Newcastle, Head Of Steam
29.10 – Birmingham, Scruffy Murphy’s
30.10 – Southampton, Suburbia

THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT have released their new single “Voodoo Doll” via Better Noise Music. The song describes unrequited devotion and taps into the pain of being in love with someone who self-sabotages by abusing substances. The track will be featured in the band’s highly anticipated first full-length record set for release in early 2023.  Also dropping today is the official music video.

Already drawing critical acclaim, The Funeral Portrait has been featured in Alternative Press’ “100 Bands You Need To Know.” After playing the main stage at Inkcarceration Fest in 2019, the band took a short break during the pandemic to rechange and have now announced upcoming support dates for a fall US tour with KINGDOM COLLAPSE and DEAD POSEY.  The tour runs from October 14 through November.

“We’re beyond excited to share VOODOO DOLL with everyone, especially our Coffin Crew.  We finally get to share the record that we have created for everyone,” said vocalist Lee Jennings.

He continued sharing the inspiration behind the band’s new song, “I’ve experienced tons of grief from personal relationships ending, and I’ve shown my full heart to the wrong person too many times in my life. While recording this record, I wanted to write about the experiences and situations along my life’s path so far.  “Voodoo Doll” speaks to everyone who has ever been in an abusive relationship, either with a loved one or with themselves…. or both” This is something I have had to overcome many times in my life, and I want to share my feelings whether high or low… with the world.”

The band collaborated with director Aaron Marsh on the official music video, which features colorful gothic imagery, an arrow-pierced angel voodoo doll interspersed with a live performance by the band.
