Texan black metal battalion NECROFIER will be entering the legendary Studio G in Brooklyn, NY to record their sophomore full-length with 6xGrammy nominated and 1xLatin Grammy nominated engineer, producer, and musician Joel Hamilton (UNSANE, IGGY POP, TOM WAITS). The band will start recording on July 27. The album will follow up the band’s debut record, ‘Prophecies of Eternal Darkness,’ which was released in October of 2021.
NECROFIER drummer Dobber Beverly explains, “I’ve always been infatuated with sonics and fortunately so are a few of my friends. So we’ve decided to team up with close friend and world famous producer/engineer Joel Hamilton to see what a truly high end black metal record would sound like. As long as we deliver great songs (which 100 percent have) and stellar performances, we should have a record the black metal world has rarely ever seen. If ever.”
In addition, NECROFIER will be supporting BATUSHKA in Texas (US) this fall! The full run of shows can be found below!

Finland’s multi-Platinum cello-rockers APOCALYPTICA have issued the following:
The next reprise on our Classic Metal Metal Classic EP is Beethoven’s 5th, and it comes out on Friday!
We’ve done parts of this piece live before, so we are really excited to finally be bringing it to you properly with this interpretation. It’s a very exciting addition to the catalog, and a piece we know some of you have been clamoring for years.
The beginning of the fifth symphony by Beethoven is one of the most iconic classical themes ever written. The process of rewriting and transforming it into a new perspective was a challenging but a really joyful ride. Beethoven was one of the first “metal-heads” in classical music which made it even more enjoyable to work out his theme with more modern sound and approach.
UK Rockers THE DARK have announced their new single ‘The DJ Is A Gothboy’, coming out August 12th with Blood Blast Distribution.
‘The DJ Is A Gothboy’ marks a new era for goth/metal rockers The Dark as it will be remembered as he new line up’s first release. Digging into the true dark aesthetic, the band delivers a real banger showcasing a glamorous, grotesque vibe mixed in with a heavy sound and catchy melodies. No mistake here, this is meant to be a goth anthem for the new generation.
The new line up brought in influences that pushed the band into the goth metal realm, whilst staying true to the gritty industrial rock of ‘Hostile Gospel’ and ‘Diabolication’.
The artwork and music video were inspired by singer Brandon Ashley’s true love and obsession towards sphynx cats and club night vibes with a mischievous twist:” What if the DJ was a gothboy? A goth sphynx spinning the anthem all the cats out there have been waiting for?”

CLASSLESS ACT – currently kicking off the Mötley Crüe/Def Leppard summer co-headline Stadium Tour dates – had a bit of a meltdown during their recent set in St. Louis. Said the band’s bassist Franco Gravante, “We were on stage at Busch Stadium, in our 4th song, and I was wondering why my feet were SO DAMN HOT. I mean, everything was hot, but my feet, they were like, burning up. I look down and the glue on my boots had totally melted, so I just taped them together and figured they’d get me through the rest of the tour.”
But hey, for a band that has been lauded by the press as “…they set the air ablaze…” “…served up high octane rock music on a platter…” and “one of the hottest new bands out there…” – there was no way their bassist could go on stage every day with his boots held together by gaffers tape. And, apparently, that’s not something that’s going to happen on Mötley Crüe’s watch. So, Vince Neil, who is featured on the band’s eponymous single “Classless Act,” saw Franco’s post on Classless Act’s Instagram, and along with his band mates – Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx, and Mick Mars – came to the rescue and surprised Franco with a brand new pair of biker boots, now Franco’s perfect sole mates.
The Stadium Tour – Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Poison, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and Classless Act – who take the stage at 3:45, so get there early – is on its way to these stadiums and towns:

ABOUT CLASSLESS ACT:
When they released their debut single “Give It To Me” in the summer of 2021, Classless Act were immediately praised for their ability to sound both fresh and timeless. Loudwire instantly added the song to their “Weekly Wire” Spotify playlist, identifying it as one of the top new releases of the summer. And other iconic outlets, like SPIN magazine, were early to show support. It was a fitting public introduction to a band who embody what it means to be modern rock stars.
Formed in 2018 and consisting of five former strangers who met via social media Classless Act — Derek Day/vocals, Dane Pieper/guitar, Griffin Tucker/guitar, Franco Gravante/bass, and Chuck McKissock/drums — quickly formed a brotherhood bonded through a series of double-taps, DM’s, and tagged comments. Their music echoes the hallmarks of previous generations – anthemic rhythms, shreddy guitars, and soaring vocals – but punches its way into the future with clever arrangements, sharp musicianship, and proficient songwriting; and, according to one writer, “…enough energy to power a city.”
Already making noise in the industry, the band has worked with world-class producers like Bob Rock, Michael Beinhorn and Joe Chiccarrelli, who have helped craft hits for the likes of The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Soundgarden, and The White Stripes. The band recently landed a deal with Better Noise Music, Mediabase and Billboard’s #1 rock label for 2021, and their debut album, Welcome to the Show, will be released June 24, 2022. Having been invited to join the line-up on The Stadium Tour, this summer’s 36-date, co-headline trek with Motley Crue and Def Leppard, Classless Act is well on its way to achieving its collective goal – being a next-generation defining act.

As fans have come to expect over the course of the initial Allen/Lande albums and the debut from Allen/Olzon, “Army Of Dreamers” is purebred melodic metal of the highest order.
Inimitable singer Russell Allen (Symphony X, Adrenaline Mob) and acclaimed Swedish guitarist, songwriter, and producer Magnus Karlsson (Primal Fear, Magnus Karlsson’s Free Fall) have collaborated successfully on three critically acclaimed albums where Russell dueted with Norwegian singer, Jorn Lande. After a break in their collaboration on said albums, where Timo Tolkki stepped in and oversaw an album, Magnus returned to the fold, but with an exciting new twist to the formula. This time, Russell and Magnus welcomed none other than the amazingly talented Anette Olzon (ex-Nightwish, The Dark Element) to the fold as Allen’s vocal partner and offered up an unbelievable debut album, “Worlds Apart”.
Here’s a sampling of the praise that “Worlds Apart” received:
“The entire point of this album is to put two legends together, and it succeeds at that indubitably. I do have to say, though, that Magnus’ guitars are flawless, giving us huge and meaty walls of riffs that are strangely satisfying. His keys are incredibly orchestral in style, too, meaning that they give the album this towering, hyper-melodic sound. Anders, then, gives us the oomph and thunder that completes the sound, as his drums roll and break with perfect execution.” – The Prog Mind
“As the album continues it becomes difficult to pin down a specific song that stands out more than any other song. This is the sign of a great album. Instead, compare Worlds Apart to a road trip to your favorite places in life. There are the winding turns that you feel the pace slow to account for the turns. Then you hit a straight stretch and your speed naturally increases as you let the beat and passion of the music take you faster and faster.” – Brutal Planet Magazine
“This album is well-produced, and the writing is the good stuff we have come to expect from Magnus. The guitar parts are absolutely top-shelf. Russell Allen and Anette Olzon both deliver superb results in line with their previous body of work.” – Sonic Perspectives
If you love the debut Allen/Olzon album, Allen/Lande’s first three albums, but also Delain, Within Temptation, Nightwish, and the like (but with a slightly heavier edge), then this is simply an absolute must hear for your melodic metal loving ears!

This Friday, July 15, sees Irish post-rock maestros GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT release a very special anniversary album: With 20 years and a strong collection of masterful, acclaimed albums to their name, the four-piece comes full circle with their new live studio epos, The Beginning Of The End. Recorded at Windmill Lane Recording Studio in Dublin, Ireland on October 3, 2021, the album features modern transformations of all of the songs from their debut album, 2002’s The End Of The Beginning, encompassing each track’s evolutionary changes throughout the band’s years of live performances while allowing the original melodies and songwriting to shine through.
To shorten your wait until the record finally arrives this Friday via Napalm Records, today, GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT have premiered a brand new music video for their classic “Route 666”! The new live studio version kicks off with its praised synth and dark wave beat, taking the listener on a ride into the otherworldly sounds GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT has created for two decades.
““Route 666“ is the oldest God Is An Astronaut song. It was written in 1999 before God Is An Astronaut was formed,“Torsten Kinsella reveals.
“Initially Niels and I came up with the name / subject matter after watching US Televangelist Don Stewart pitching his green prosperity prayer handkerchief on the TV which we found obviously ludicrous, equally entertaining and humorous.
Back in the early years when we would play “Route 666“ live we would use some old film clips from the 1968 Horror film “The Devil Rides out“. Needless to say the whole vibe was satirical.“
With their upcoming release, GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT provides a sonic snapshot of the evolution of the Irish post-rock band over two decades. Songs such as “From Dust to the Beyond”, “Coda or “Route 666″ can be heard in a new light, with clear, transformative variations originally heard during the band’s captivating live performances now incorporated. Plus, in addition to these live expansions, technical advances have been applied to each track. Originally limited to just a keyboard sequencer and an Akai S3000 sampler on The End Of The Beginning, 20 years later on The Beginning Of The End, the band seizes the opportunity to breathe new life into these live versions, allowing them to bring more feeling, experience, equipment and expression to the music and songs.
The release of The Beginning Of The End could not be more relevant than in these current dark times. War themes are strikingly evident on songs such as the aforementioned “From Dust to the Beyond”, as well as album title track “The End of the Beginning” – named after a quote credited to Prime Minister Winston Churchill during the WWII era. Influenced by the chaos and futility of war, these themes are also reflected on the album’s cover, created by the band in collaboration with returning artist David Rooney. Featuring a war-torn concert hall and a piano, the art is a defiant message reflecting that the power of music transcends war and time.
Kinsella adds: “From Dust to the Beyond was written in 2002, inspired by the futile wars of the past and how we are doomed to repeat our mistakes and ironically we are now seeing the same unfold once again.”
