Art Of Melody Music & Burning Minds Music Group are glad to announce their support to a laudable initiative, born with the purpose of supporting the Ukrainian humanitarian crisis.

The Nordic Hard Rock For Peace initiative was instigated by Peter Hermansson and Martin Jepsen Andersen, during writing sessions for the follow-up to Hermansson’s acclaimed solo album, “Second Glance”, which was co-produced by Andersen himself. Exactly in the middle of the songwriting process, the two Scandinavian musicians (Hermansson from Sweden, Andersen from Denmark) happened upon the foundations of what was to become the song “Hellbound Train”. While the duo was working on the song, Russia began its aggressive invasion of Ukraine, and, impressed with the song’s potential, Hermansson came up with the idea of turning it into an all-star, ensemble-cast song commenting on the present, horrible situation in Ukraine.

Later, with the gracious help and participation from friends and colleagues in mainly the Swedish hard rock scene, “Hellbound Train” has seen the light of day. The song will be released worldwide as a digital download, through Italian label Burning Minds Music Group, with the two Scandinavian musicians having been introduced to it by their mutual friend, renowned producer and musician, Alessandro Del Vecchio.

Andersen comments: “We are really excited about teaming up with Burning Minds Music Group for this very special release! Thanks to Alessandro, we were put in touch with the label, who immediately saw what we are trying to do with this project, and we strongly believe this is the ideal release-setting for the song.” All proceeds from the release will be donated to the Red Cross and their relief efforts for the people of Ukraine“.

“Hellbound Train” will be available on all digital platforms on September 6, 2022.

The Metal Voice’s Jimmy Kay talks to legendary DJ Neal Kay (Part 2) of an exclusive live interview. Neal Kay’s new official biography will be released Sept 2022 by author Stjepan Juras with a forward by Iron Maiden Steve Harris.

Neal Kay was asked to confirm if there was indeed a second guitarist who played (rumour Paul Cairns played guitar and was uncredited) on the legendary Iron Maiden Soundhouse tapes or was it just Dave Murray who did all the guitar work, Neal Kay said,” Dave Murray unquestionably, Dave Murray played on it. When I met the band there was only one guitarist in the band. Paul Di’anno was singing, Doug Sampson was on the drums, Steve Harris was playing Bass and Dave Murray was the guitarist. .”

Neal Kay continued,” I have also been involved in some crazy court case about all this recently. I got a letter from a lawyer who said listen we want to borrow your Soundhouse tape Cassette because we want to check it out more precisely. The London lawyer left a phone number and I was really annoyed. These guys (the people the lawyer represented) were claiming that they wrote some of the chord structures to some of the songs and some of the lyrics. I got this letter that kind of said if would I help them and basically I just wanted to tell them to F-off. I phoned them up and said listen you, whoever you are, I hope you got the deepest pockets on the planet if you think you are going to tackle Iron Maiden in the court of law. Not only is this stuff you are telling me rubbish but I never knew any of these guys when I first met the band (Iron Maiden). None of them were there, there was only Dave Murray and I have been repeatedly told that Dave played on the recordings at Spaceward studios. They came to me out of desperation thinking I would back them, I don’t know where these people get off, they must be damaged psychologically “

The Soundhouse Tapes is the debut E.P. by Iron Maiden, and features the first recordings by the band. Released on 9 November 1979, it features three songs taken from the demo tape recorded at Spaceward Studios on 30 and 31 December 1978. The three tracks (“Iron Maiden”, “Invasion” and “Prowler”) appear in a rougher form than they would on the band’s eponymous debut studio album and subsequent singles, as they were all recorded in one session.

Tokyo’s Thrash Heroes SURVIVE – active in the world for over 20 years – have forged their own indelible path within the jmetal scene. It was back in 1998, when former Death File guitarist and mastermind Nemo decided to form a thrash metal band of his own which soon became the juggernaut known as SURVIVE. 2022 is a special year for British Thrash Metal force ONSLAUGHT, one of the most influential and respected bands of their genre: The group led by Nige Rockett is celebrating its 40th anniversary and is planning to do so in style.

This May, ONSLAUGHT were inducted into the „Metal Hall of Fame“, being characterized as „one of the most ferocious, explosive and controversial Metal bands ever to come out of the UK.“

On 11 November, ONSLAUGHT will re-issue their latest three studio albums „Sounds Of Violence“ (2011), „VI“ (2013) and „Generation Antichrist“ as red 180 gram Vinyl editions in gatefold sleeve. On the same day, ONSLAUGHT will also release a special „Anniversary Edition“ of their 2011 album „Sounds Of Violence“, which now comes as a 2-CD digipak including a bonus CD.

The band states: “It’s great to see AFM re-releasing these albums to help celebrate the 40th anniversary of the band. Some new ‚Sounds of Violence‘ artwork, new videos and bonus tracks too?…yea, this is fucking killer!”

The celebrations for EPICA’s 20^th anniversary are in full swing. On September 2^nd, the Symphonic metal titans will re-issue their first three albums “The Phantom Agony”, “Consign To Oblivion” and “The Score”, which have become milestones of the genre and rarities within the physical market.
