Rock/metal icon ROB ZOMBIE has revealed the latest single, ‘Heathen Days,’ from his highly-anticipated upcoming album, The Great Satan, due out February 27th from Nuclear Blast Records.
Accompanied by a video directed by Zombie, ‘Heathen Days’ is a callback to his earlier sound of furious, groove laden guitar riffs as he lyrically invokes the ungodly days when chaos and war were constantly at your back.
Following the success of his Top 10 charting record The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy (2021), Zombie is back with his 8th album, The Great Satan, revisiting his early Hellbilly roots for a slaughterhouse of anthemic punk infused heavy rock/metal.
The Great Satan is available now for pre-order in a variety of formats including a limited box set and accompanying apparel.
The circle is closing. Today, THE HALO EFFECT unveils the fifth and final song from their highly anticipated cover EP We Are Shadows, released today. Each member of the band selected a personal favorite and classic track to reinterpret, and this last choice comes from drummer Daniel Svensson.
Svensson’s pick is a heartfelt tribute to Gothenburg legends Broder Daniel – their 2003 alternative pop anthem ‘Shoreline’.
Needless to say, THE HALO EFFECT have made the song entirely their own, delivering a powerful and emotional rendition where frontman Mikael Stanne once again shines, seamlessly blending clean vocals with his unmistakable growls.
Reflecting on his choice, Daniel Svensson comments: “Broder Daniel were one of the bands that created the Gothenburg indie-pop scene in the late ’90s. There are several parallels to the ‘Gothenburg Sound’ — both scenes were driven by a strong DIY ethos and comradeship while gathering international attention.”

Danish alt-metal visionaries MØL return with ‘Young’, the second single from their eagerly awaited new albumDreamcrush, due on 30th January 2026 via Nuclear Blast Records. Now available on all streaming platforms, ‘Young’ follows lead single ‘Garland‘.
Where ‘Garland’ ascended into majestic shoegaze territory, its shimmering guitars and brooding baritone vocals hinting at an impending rupture of blackened force, ‘Young’ wastes no time. It erupts in classic MØL fashion with searing fury from its very first moments, before plunging listeners into the band’s signature haze of glittering guitar lines, towering crescendos and cathartic melodicism that blurs the line between beauty and brutality
Guitarist Nicolai Busse comments on the new single: “’Young’ is a song that has travelled through time. The chorus is one of the first pieces of music that I wrote for MØL back in 2012 at a time when I was living outside Denmark. I have returned to it a number of times throughout the years, but I was never able to make it right. So it was only when revisiting it for this record that it finally clicked in my head and I was able to write the rest of the music. The song for me represents a time in my life second guessing myself, trying to stand on my own.”
A wholenew world of inventive, insidious and infectious metalcore awaits in 2026, with Melbourne’s The Gloom In The Corner — Mikey Arthur (vocals), Jesse Abdurazak (guitar), Paul Musolino (bass) and Joshua Clinch (drums) — today announcing their third full-length album Royal Discordance, due out on Friday 27 February via SharpTone Records.
Wielding 12 songs set to scintillate the senses and lure you deeper than ever into The Gloom In The Corner‘s universe of cinema-core, today’s announcement of Royal Discordance is also heralded by a new single Angel’s Wrath Whiskey; a theatrical barn-burner that opens with breakneck beats, swirling synths and a flurry of guitars, ultimately building into an anthemic chorus while also advancing the band’s ever-expanding conceptual universe.
“Angel’s Wrath Whiskey lives up to its namesake,” the band shares of their new single. “The first four shots are great, but too much of it will have you breaking down as hard as the end of the song.”
A record that could readily soundtrack an Anime epic, a Netflix smash series, or a sprawling open-world game, Royal Discordance is certainly not your average metalcore album. An action-packed opus hell-bent on sharp narratives and astonishing sonic dexterity, Royal Discordance journeys between an all-out onslaught (previous single Assassination Run) through to cinematic-yet-sinister brutality on Nope (Hollow Point Elysium), grinning chaotic frenzy on You Didn’t Like Me Then (You Won’t Like Me Now), and a double closing sucker punch via the two-track suite Love 1: A Quaver Through the Pale and Love 2: A Walk Amongst The Poppy Fields.
Insatiably showcasing their relentless pursuit for sonic evolution, and recorded in 2024 with producer Jonathan Delese in Nashville, Tennessee, Royal Discordance also ushers in some of Gloom‘s most universal songs to date, all while remaining true to their chaotic core in the process. Whether channeling My Chemical Romance and positivity or penning pit-splitting breakdowns, The Gloom In The Corner balance their tumultuous creative DNA with an album primed for multiple revisits; and one that devoutly treads new ground.
“This album is a concoction of chaos and revelry,” the band shares of Royal Discordance, “a battle of light versus darkness, much like the story and themes covered in the record. If you really thought we were going to do Trinity for a second time, guess again.”
Over the years, The Gloom In The Corner have engineered a space for total sensory immersion via a series of releases, spanning their 2016 debut album Fear Me, through to their Homecoming EP (2017), Flesh & Bones (2019), Ultima Pluvia EP (2020) and their 2022 album Trinity, with the latter commanding a 5/5 star album review from New Noise Magazine, praising it as “a real stunner and a benchmark for metalcore going forward”. Translating their rich sonic universe into a live setting, The Gloom In The Corner have dazzled stages around the globe, spanning Australia, Europe and North America, along with aligning a horde of elite collaborators including Fit For A King‘s Ryan Kirby, Fit For An Autopsy‘s Joe Badolato, Cane Hill‘s Elijah Witt and many more.
The Gloom In The Corner are currently on the road in Europe supporting Swedish metalcore greats Aviana, and will also perform in 2026 as part of the entirely sold out inagural Hellbound Cruise along with Parkway Drive, Polaris, Northlane and more.
