VANTE announce the release of their self-titled debut album on Dark Star Records. The second singe “Watch The Sunrise” is out now, accompanied by a video that can be viewed below.

“Watch The Sunrise” is the #2 Most Added track on both the Billboard/BDS Mainstream Rock Indicator and Foundations Secondary Market Rock Radio Charts.

Purchase or stream the album at: https://lnk.to/Vante

Brian Troch, lead singer, “This Vante track deals with crawling out of the proverbial shit and finally finding a place that is a true nexus in your soul and plane of existence. Leaving behind and shedding your dirty skin after so many tries to get out and heading back home where the clean air and sun can wash your filth away, this time for good for you have arrived.”

Scott McClellan on the new single “Watch The Sunrise,” “The riff was a simple influence from the beat, I get all my riff ideas from a strong groove , this one wrote itself, I believe the message will gel with many on this song. Of course the song became better as it went along due to the prolific players & writers involved.”

Bass player Rev Jones on “Watch The Sunrise,” “Just like the rest of the Vante album this song has several musical elements that keep you moving. I love the way the groove and the melody intertwine. Plus the video adds another great element to be enjoyed.”

And, drummer Chris Moore, “Vante is an expressive musical entity that begins as a soulful groove and ends as a primal heartbeat. “Watch The Sunrise” is a natural extension of that groove and heartbeat.”

TALAS Announce New Album “1985”, Out September 23rd

TALAS are back with the release of their new album 1985, which will see a September 23, 2022 release via Metal Blade Records. Fans can preorder the album and check out the new single “Crystal Clear” at: metalblade.com/talas

Formed in the early 70s and dissolved in 1985, TALAS may have never reached arena-headlining status but they were an integral part of the early 80s hard rock scene, and their long awaited return does not disappoint. “The time was right and we were all into it, no one needed any convincing, we were all instantly excited to do it,” explains bassist Billy Sheehan, who is rejoined by drummer Mark Miller and powerhouse vocalist Phil Naro, as well as new recruit Kire Najdovski on guitar. “It’s like we never stopped – everything fell together so easily. It was quite wonderful.” Now they return with 1985, 11 tracks of classic hard rock, picking up where they left off, and it is a release that will have old school fans salivating and new followers fired up with its big riffs, seductive choruses and killer soloing – basically everything that could be wanted from a TALAS record.

Asked why people should be excited for this comeback, Sheehan answers enthusiastically. “Because so many of them were there, with us, and a million other great bands that made the 80s such a special musical experience. And also there are so many who might not have been there but have fallen in love with that spirit as well. We feel a very special bond with them all.“

With all but one song – “Black And Blue” – written in 1985, the album would have been their fourth full-length had they not split, and while they have worked hard to get the best out of them they have not tampered with the tracks or given them a modern twist, letting them live in the era in which they were created. “We wanted a snapshot of our musical life from 1985,” explains Sheehan. “It’s the same spirit, mostly the same people, and it’s bringing the 80s into 2022. The 80s were an amazing time for music and bands, and we were all excited to go back to that, and I would say the record is raw, real, honest, and exhilarating.”

The album was recorded in Miller’s living room in the house he built, utilizing a mobile recording setup, and according to Sheehan the sessions were “an absolute joy.” Coordinating everything remotely during the pandemic – with Russ Mackay handling the engineering/mixing/mastering from Toronto – was the hardest aspect of recording, but they managed to pull it all together, making a record that sounds cohesive from start to finish, giving no suggestion that it was anything but a smooth process. As well as Mitch Perry’s guest appearance the band also invited Naro’s son, James, to appear on the record, who “sang some harmonies – like father, like son, he sounded really great.” There are hopes to tour the record, though sadly, after a long battle with cancer, Naro passed in 2021, but thankfully he recorded all of his parts prior to his death, and 1985 stands as a great epitaph to a great vocalist.

MOTÖRHEAD’s Legendary Founder LEMMY to Be Officially Memorialized at Hellfest

The legendary Ian ‘Lemmy’ Kilmister, founder of Motörhead and Grammy Award winning cultural icon, has had a portion of his ashes enshrined at this year’s Hellfest Festival in Clisson, France within a new, giant statue of the man, and the official ceremony to recognize this unique memorialization will occur tomorrow, on June 23, 2022. With band mates Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee present, it is the perfect moment to honor Lemmy’s life. After the Scorpions close the show, band mates Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee will say a few words, a tribute video to Lemmy will play and Phil and Mikkey will raise a toast to the immortal and eternally popular Kilmister at the monument itself. The ceremony formally recognizes Lemmy’s love of both the road and the fans, which is where he always felt most comfortable.

Hellfest was one of Lemmy’s favorite festivals (Motörhead played the first ever Hellfest and were staples of the festival ever since), and the band have always had a tremendous bond with their French rock’n’roll family. It is therefore fitting that Lemmy will forever be present at the site, with fans able to congregate and pay their respects to him at every Hellfest from here on out. This ceremony will also give fans an opportunity to participate in their own memorialization of Lemmy and see a miniature replica of the custom urn that houses Lemmy’s ashes at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood California.

For fans that wish to share their own tributes, memories, experiences or pay their respects, can post using the hashtag #LemmyLivesAtHellfest.

All Hail (the immortal legend) Lemmy!

ALESTORM Release Title Track from Upcoming Album “Seventh Rum of a Seventh Rum”

Infamous pirate metal gang ALESTORM set sail on a new voyage with their seventh studio album, Seventh Rum of a Seventh Rum, out this Friday! Today, the band reveals the fourth single and official music video for the title track, “Seventh Rum of a Seventh Rum” – a real throwback to the early days of Captain Morgan’s Revenge telling the heroic story of a war on the seven seas!

The new video shows the band in 70s style – bell-bottoms, groovy sunglasses and fringed shirts included. Don’t miss out on this!

ALESTORM spent two years during lockdown going insane and frantically dredging up the craziest pirate metal anthems from their treasure chest of ideas, and have created the most epic and serious (yes, serious) sounding ALESTORM album you’ve ever heard. From the symphonic choir-powered “Magellan’s Expedition” to the rousing anthem “Under Blackened Banners” featuring intense technical riffing and exquisite solo duels, Seventh Rum of a Seventh Rum is a real throwback to the early days of Captain Morgan’s Revenge. But fans of the modern ALESTORM sound need not worry either – there’s plenty of party mood in the aptly-named future hit song “P.A.R.T.Y.”, and the high speed, insane folk metal banger “Cannonball” has the most ridiculous and offensive lyrics you’ve ever heard in a pirate metal song (making “Fucked With an Anchor” sound tame).

Pre-Order Seventh Rum of a Seventh RumNOW

Seventh Rum of a Seventh Rum track listing:

1. Magellan’s Expedition
2. The Battle of Cape Fear River

As an extra special treat for die-hard collector fans, some special editions come with a full acoustic rendition of the entire album, and there’s even a legendary version of the album FOR DOGS once again. In the Wooden Box only, there is a special 7” Single vinyl, including “Christmas with Alestorm” and “Nyár Van”.
